I really enjoyed the selection of beers and cocktails here. The Benton's bacon bourbon was definitely interesting. It has a smoky flare that hits during the after taste. I did not care for the clientele on my visit so I'm not sure how much I will frequent this place. The fact that most of the food is from local farms is awesome and quite delicious as well. The Benton's aged ham is sooooo good it should almost be illegal.

My favorite bar in Knoxville, TN. Such a low key place. Last time I was there a book club meeting was going on at one table, a crochet group at another & a group of middle age lawyers enjoying a pint at another table. You will run into all sorts of folk here. Most people are of the artistic genre and probably listen to great music but it doesn't create an intimidating aura. I love that there are no TVs and the motto of the bar is pretty much, "Let's be nice to each other and enjoy a drink." I have tried numerous cocktails on the menu and they are all tasty. I love the infused vodkas they make in house and my husband is always pleased with the tap selection which changes periodically to include lots of micro-brews and a few staples. I ordered a cocktail that called for fresh squeezed grapefruit juice and they were out so they went next door and got some for me! I was amazed, you know it's few and far between that you get great service anymore and Public House has fantastic service! Also, I like to munch on something when I drink so we get the Truffle Salted Popcorn- it is heavenly!

Pretty laid back, quiet with decent music. The liquor infusions are fabulous, and the drinks are decently priced. My only complaint would be the lack of comfortable seating. It's a great place to get a drink but its not too cozy so bring a seat cushion if you plan to stay awhile. :)

This is the type of place I look for in a bar. They've got good all-round drink selection with a handful of craft beers, decent wines, and 'classic' and 'signature' cocktails. The atmosphere is dimly-lit, modern, and not too loud (no live bands! Yay!). The building itself is spacious and clean. The best part, though, is the crowd. Because of its location off of Magnolia Ave a block or two from the Old City, it keeps out the extreme 'partiers' found wandering around the ever-increasing dance scene of Central Avenue in the Old City. It's a place setup for having some good drinks while engaging in conversation without the intrusions of loud, unwanted bands, seizure-causing televisions, and (most) obnoxious binge drinkers looking to ruin someone else's night.

This is a great little spot to grab a beer with friends. The drinks aren't too pricey, its an eclectic crowd if you're looking to meet folks, and the beer cheese & garlic cheese crackers are fantastic. The charcuterie is very good, as well. Go with the prosciutto.

Not as busy as I would expect it to be on a Saturday night. The service was slow. 3 bartenders all doing side work while people wait for drinks. It smells like the locker room at the YMCA. More attention to customer experience needed .

I came in here with a friend over winter break on a Tuesday I think. It was of course dead but the bartenders were nice and it had a great beer selection. It's a nice space with very long bench-booths and some high tables in the back. Look forward to coming back next time I'm in town.

What a great place!! I went here last night for a meeting and drinks and I don't have a single complaint. The place is gorgeous. Their bar is this AMAZING concrete that has pieces of beer glass embedded in it and then smoothed over. An owner(?) told me they saved the glass for a while to do that and it really looks incredible. It's a nice, modern, bougie hipster hang out near Tennessee Valley Bikes. There is ample parking just next to the building and they have an outdoor area which I did not check out. I didn't register than they don't have TVs until I read the other review, but it's an excellent point because it really makes a difference. I found this a great place to meet people from drinks and conversation. There is no live music, so you can just TALK. I hate going to a place to talk only to have a band overpower your conversation. They also have Wifi, which is handy because I needed my computer for our meeting. As far as booze and food, there was a great variety of beers and wines - you can get bottles and by the glass. Good variety of hipster beers. I myself had a Sweetwater Blue. Their snacks menu (no full meals) is distinct too. We had the trout dip with bread which was great - fresh, with big chunks of fish on rustic bread. They had really neat options - chips with blue cheese dip, meat and cheese plates and other choices. Overall, really loved the place and will definitely campaign to get my friends to meet here too.

My favorite bar in Knoxville. I'm actually on my way the right now. The bartenders know their stuff, the snacks are completely gosh-worthy, and I like the atmosphere.

If you're looking for a chill place to kick it in Knoxville, look no further. Great spot to have a conversation (probably because you can actually hear what the other person is saying) or to enjoy a well made drink. They clearly pride themselves on their cocktails here, and for good reason. You'd do well ordering anything here. Most of their drink fillers are fresh and specially made (no generic sour mix here), and their liquors are carefully selected. The vibe has been relaxed every time I've come here. If you want to have a fun, yet quiet night out, head to the Public House.

Knoxville needs more places like this. Cool space, albeit a little out of the way (which could be part of the charm), serves great cocktails. Bartenders are great, easy going, they act like a friend you've had for years. The back outdoor area is the best, especially at night with the lights.

This quickly and easily became one of my favorite bars in Knoxville. Good beer selection.
