We visited this place when in Knoxville over the weekend. Our local family said it was great especially since we were cloudy from the night before. They were very right. We got there early and were seated quickly. It had a nice atmosphere and our server was really good. We needed to eat a lite fare and for some reason we felt Mexican fit the bill. (I know...made no sense at all) We kept it simple and each had a taco. This place had serious Mexican meat options that you normally don't find at places that cater to Americans. It ROCKED!!! Next time we are there, we need to have a full blown crazy ass dinner here. I have no doubt the meal will amazing. FYI They serve this sauce with the meal and it looks like a kind of enchilada sauce. I put two heaping table spoons on my taco. It was like I was given a swift kick in the stones. I love hot sauce and had I treated it like hot sauce I would have been fine. A little goes a long way.

Food was good, but the service was lack luster. Avoid getting any of the lunch specials.

Just OK service and food. Quesadillas were very soggy. Yummy salsa but that was about it. A little loud for dinner.

I don't know how they are able to serve the lunch time specials at those cheap prices. Maybe it's because enough people are buying drinks to compensate. Very crowded and noisy place especially at lunch time. Great value, service can be good or not so good. Lunch time fajitas big portion cheap price. Food is generous but not the greatest quality. Big beers and margaritas. Not the cleanest restaurant either but after a couple of drinks you won't even notice.

Great service and food! Always the place to go if you want good grub. We've never had a bad experience at Soccer Taco. I think the fajitas are the best in town.

Love me some soccer taco. During spring and summer I like to take my dog here and sit on the patio. During soccer season I learn a lot about the teams playing. The food is always good, the portions are good and the tacos are pretty much just like I would make them at home. They also have $2 Tuesday margaritas. Yeah - $2!

The food was really good. Had a very authentic environment. Service was at times slow, but sincere.Would definitely go back.

Food is typical Knoxville Mexican restaurant food. The quality is a little better than others. I like this place mostly for the atmosphere, and the service is pretty good. If I want some fast decent Mexican food I come here.

I ate here a couple of times and was a bit underwhelmed. However, I finally ordered a pork dish. Their pork dishes are really really good. There is a strange seasoning on the chicken - kind of sweet. The pork totally changed my attitude. I recommend this restaurant and you must try any pork dishes!

Good food , Great prices and they serve u a lot of food!! I specially love the carne asada i'm a steak girl and the steak is huge and i love it:) great place to go with some friends and have some good food and drinks!!

The food is tasteless, the staff is slow, and the place is a dump.

  • Lena J.

Big portions, good prices, and good food. It was a bit loud (then again, what do you expect in a sports bar?), but that was the only thing I could find that I disliked about it. I'd go again in a heartbeat.

My sister brought me here over president's day weekend. I loved it! Thanks, Shelley! I wouldn't have thought a restaurant with the name 'soccer taco' would have been any good, but I was so glad to be proved wrong. You see, I love Mexican food. We are talking, 'if I had to chose one type of food for the rest of my life' type love (but, thank goodness I don't! hehe). It was crowded, but we were able to spy some customers preparing to leave the bar, and we 'hovered' so as to claim their spots as our own. We may have waited 20 minutes or so at the bar, but we were just fine with that b/c the drinks were fantastic! A good sangria is very difficult to find, and this one was not only huge, but the ONLY good one I've had in years and years. Probably the best ever. If I lived in town, I'd be a regular here.

I like this place but it is not worth 4 stars. The margaritas are good. The fish tacos and chimichangas are also good choices. The enchiladas are not very good and I am not a fan of the fajitas. Last time I got the fajitas to-go I got home, opened the box and on the steak it was like the parts of steak you should throw out and not serve because it was all white and fatty. It made me want to vomit. The servers are very consistent and make sure your chips and salsa never get low. When you get to-go make sure there is salsa. They give you chips but they forget the salsa all the time. I like that they have soccer games going on all around the restaurant and you get a discount if you wear a soccer jersey. I like this place but it is not my favorite.

Decent chow. Decent service. Prices were in line with most Mexican restaurants. Nothing really stood out to me as excellent but I would eat here again.

It's your basic Latin restaurant. But the food and margaritas are quite good. I really like Mole Poblano, and this is one of the few places I've found that does it right. I can't wait till I visit again. I'm headed straight for Soccer Taco.

    (4)
  • Christy M.

Pretty good Mexican. I ordered fajita nachos and it was ginormous!! Good flavors and portions for the money. Margaritas were pretty decent as well.

I've only eaten here once but I'm from L.A. and even I thought this place was pretty good. I kinda wish Knoxville had more than one decent place for each type of ethnic cuisine, but that's what makes it Knoxville. Soccer Taco doesn't even need to be as good as it is since it could probably get by with being less good in Knoxville, being the only real show in a town full of Q'dobas and what's that Mexi-ritas place? But Soccer Taco is truly good. The crowd packing this place on a weekend night attests to this fact. I even really like the chips. You know you're in a quality restaurant when they put effort into the little details like that. Their chips are so thick and full of munchy corn goodness. And it's not just tex-mex because they serve the crazy organ meats that I won't personally eat. My fiance said the lengua (tongue) was quite tender and tasty.

  • Megan S.

Meh. It's okay. If you're in a hurry but still want a sit-down meal in the Mexican genre, this place is fine. Their salsa is pretty bland--not at all hot and tastes like it came from a can. The tortas are pretty good. In fact, that's what I will be getting from now on when I go there, as the rest of their food is hit or miss. Ignore the lunch specials. There's nothing "special" about them. Also, the "Charro beans" are basically beans and wieners. Total disappointment. I guess I should have asked before I ordered them, but you just don't expect beans and wieners at a Mexican joint.

Mmmmmm Taco Bell is way better...atmosphere and service was good, but the food tasted like it was out of a can, and didn't really taste like Mexican food.

I've always loved Soccer Taco. After the Market Square location opened I think I still prefer it but when it comes to patio life, this one has so much more space. Only downfall is there is potential to be someone smoking but somehow the wind kept most of the smell away from us and we were only 2 tables down. I've only ever ordered the chimichanga but it's delicious. The dinner plate has 2 and sides, or you could get the lunch which is only 1. Depending on how hungry you are, the lunch size works 99% of the time for me.

Fresh, delicious and not over priced food. We had Colts and Saints that were delicious. One thing of note, the Jose burrito does come with onions so we had to send it back as we are allergic. The staff was gracious and the new dish arrived quickly without issue. The chips were good and the salsa was your basic salsa, nothing too fancy. The cheese dip was small but not a problem as the food came quickly.

I was visiting Knoxville, and this place was near my hotel. After eating delicious southern food for 3 days, it was nice to have a different option. My friend and I went in for a the Steelers game. We had a beer, and ordered a couple of appetizers. We ordered Super Bowl Nachos, Jumbo Buffalo Wings, and Queso Fundido. The Nachos were good, the wings were spicy and delicious, and the queso fundido was the best. It was spicy too, but really tasty. It had great flavors. I would order that over and over again. They were busy, but our waiter was really nice. We didn't wait long, and he was attentive.

I love Soccer Taco with a passion. I want to scream "GOOOOOAAAAALLLLLL" every time I think about this place. I highly recommend the Enchiladas Cowboys or the Fajitas. Both are supremely delicious! The crowd on game days is great too. Lots of TV's and lots of energy!

    (5)
  • Ashley T.

Good food, good margs, good environment. Love the fish tacos, but request the spicy queso be heated. For some reason, the west location always brings it out cold. Who wants to pour cold queso on a hot fish taco?

  • Craig S.

This is the best authentic Mexican food I have had in a long time. The steak tacos are amazing, the salsa rocks and the beer is almost frozen!! Nice work SoccerTaco!!

Tiny lil place. Clean. Only a few places I've gone to has chicken mole. I was really excited. It was Not the best, but good. I was happy with my meal. Free Chips and salsa ftw.

    (3)
  • Brittney L.

Love this place! They have mole and not the sweet kind either. Chips and salsa were tasty and the staff was nice and prompt. We got out food quickly just as we were running out of chips. Nice bar selection for the size, will return.

The best place to watch a soccer game. Great food, good prices and nice portions. Really couldn't ask for much more. Margaritas are good too.

Have been here many times. The food and the service are always above average. If your looking for a great/affordable place for lunch.. This is your spot. Lunch for 2 usually runs me about $12. They have the best chips and salsa. If you're looking for a great meal I recommend the Eagle Burrito Cheesesteak!!

I Love Soccer Taco!!! First off I love the atmosphere, it's small and always bustling with guests. Typically I'm put off by any restaurant that has ONE TV. Soccer Taco has at least 15!!! I guess it's the HOT international soccer players that ease my TV angst;) I always start off my Soccer Taco dining experience with a "Molly Margarita" -this is named after one of it's loyal patrons. She requested a Top-Shelf margarita made with Grand Marnier and she got it! It's delicious and strong!! You actually taste the alcohol....not just hmmm, lemonade!?!? I order the small, it may cost more but I'm not into size when it comes to my margarita. I want to be able to pick up my glass, taste the salt and enjoy my margarita without using two hands. But if you like a 24oz. beverage....Go for it!!!! They've got that size too. Now for the food....after dipping into the chips & salsa which are great. I order the Queso Fundido. It's melted cheese with pablano chili's, onions and chorizo served on a hot skillet, accompanied by flour tortillas. I ALWAYS request the corn tortillas....check it out...the flavor is in the corn NOT the flour!!! Next, I go straight for the "authentic Mexican fare" on the back of the menu. It offers soft tacos with your choice of meat....I love the carnitas -braised pulled pork. It comes plain and simple with raw white onion, cilantro and house made hot sauce on the side. I always save a little queso fundido for my tacos!!! -They are cheap and delicious!!!! If you want something a little more "American" but keeping with delicious, try the Cowboy Enchiladas....kinda the same thing that I love only covered with cheese, peppers and onions, I've heard that the Tamales are amazing....never tried them. Also, the Chicken tortilla soup is really good...I was surprised!! I've tried and enjoyed other Mexican restaurants in town but this one keeps me coming back for MORE!! -Siempre!!! Buen Provecho!!

The Bearden location is very convenient, so it's a shame they have such a hard time with things... namely, getting takeout orders right, getting takeout orders right, and getting takeout orders right. Attempts to reach them by phone during business hours tend to ring and ring, or ring and then hangup... so it's tough to get any sort of resolution with said mistakes in orders. Hopefully they can get things under control. Unfortunely, this may be the last draw. you don't mess with a toddler's dinner :)

    (2)
  • Billy D.

Pretty good place - food and drinks were both pretty good. They also have a decent Mexican beer selection. For a cheap Mexican restaurant *slash* sports bar - it meets the criteria. Would I go back? probably not - but I had a good time there.

Soccer Taco = Best Mexican in K-town Soccer Taco has risen up the ranks of my favorite Knoxville eateries. The Bearden Hill location in the old El Charro/Pizza Hut building is charming, cozy & comfortable as always (plenty of TVs if you're into soccer/sports). El Charro really messed up by moving into the soulless Fazoli's building, but compared to Soccer Taco, they're soulless anyway. Service at Soccer Taco is always top-notch and the staff rotates between locations so it's good no matter which one you go to. Ultimately though, any restaurant comes down to food, and Soccer Taco is second to none (maybe La Paz/Chez Guevera comes close). Definitely be sure to check out the Real Mexican Team section of the menu for the authentic taqueria-style tacos (chorizo, tongue, etc.). But, my wife and I agree that the star of the show at Soccer Taco is definitely anything involving carnitas (pork). Enough rambling...go enjoy a cold Pacifico, chorizo taco and a carnitas platter at Soccer Taco...now!! Dang, I'm getting hungry.

Change of heart; I came to the conclusion that my last post was tainted by my closed mindedness. I went to the restaurant with the preconceived notion that what they had to offer was nothing more than your typical Mexican restaurant trying to capitalize on its stereotypes. Ironically, they did capitalize on their stereotypes, in a good way. Not the way that we Mexicans are often depicted by xenophobic attitudes. Rather, the staff was attentive and hard at work. We often fail to recognize those that serve us. A good restaurant besides its food must be accompanied by a dedicated staff. The food is but a faint memory if the staff ignores your ability to enjoy the food. Soccer-Taco with its dedicated, hard working staff has given me a different perspective. Thus, leaving a good impression that made me come back.

Really great Mexican for TN! Fun place to go with soccer on all TVs. They give you chips and salsa. Fajitas were huge, we split them and they were really tasty.

Nice and cheap place with a nice outdoor patio good for summer time. The portions are also generous

Meh. This place reminds me of the all the absolutely mediocre-bad places in Athens, GA that are supposed to be the local 'omg so good!' places to eat. Food service food, food service prep. And the margarita, which was suppose to be 'top shelf' was really just a margarita flavored Mr. Misty. Mole sauce was like a Special Dark bar melted down with some McCormick chili-o seasoning mixed in. The red sauce on the enchiladas was really Chef Boyardee ravioli sauce, and was that sweet and salty--god the salt and sugar... If you have a typical American, Wal-Mart diet, you'll be just fine here. If you are refined in anyway (read: eat real food), you're going to want to pass on even stepping foot in here. The service was great though; super fast and fairly attentive...the food is just so utterly middle-American--salt, sugar, fat. _Prices were stupid cheap compared to Atlanta prices...which is probably why so many people like it here--they're still broke college kids & haven't yet experienced real food.

my husband pointed across the bar here and said, 'that pitcher of beer looks a little smaller than ours.' that's because it wasn't a pitcher. it was a massive, 32 oz. individual beer. a guide from an experienced soccer taco patriot: 1. queso fundido- this is just nuts. creamy, cheesy, onion with beef, sizzling, dripping, flavorful madness. it comes hot on a little oval plate, served with hot flour tortillas- but it's great if you have it with their crunchy tortilla chips and a bit of hot salsa too. it's basically like a dip. i'm telling you, it's just madness how good this is. it will EASILY feed 6 people as an appetizer. BUT DON'T FILL UP! 2. guacamole- they have a fantastic one 3. huaraches- YOU MUST ORDER THIS. on the bottom- thick corn tortilla. on the top- tons of cheese, avocado, hot sauce, cilantro, and meats of your choice, cooked to perfection: you can order 2 different meats. if you're adventurous get the cheek. yes. like the cheek in your mouth. it's rich, melty, and an explosion of flavor. if that frightens you deeply, get carnitas (pork) and steak. the cow tongue is very good too, if you're into that. i'm a big fan. 4. chicken tortilla soup- YUM. if you're with a large party- DO NOT COME ON THE WEEKEND. people sit at their tables like a bunch of dill-holes and you wind up waiting for an hour sit sit down. it's hopeless. try a weekday.

I miss Soccer Taco. There. I said it. I miss a restaurant. And not even a fancy restaurant - a restaurant where the entire point is to drink vast amounts of margaritas or beer, have phenomenal Mexican food, and watch lots of soccer. Their margaritas, by the way, are great. They make a fabulously tasty white queso dip that's to die for; I usually get an extra cup of it to pour all over everything else. They also do all the traditional Mexican staples that many more 'Americanized' resturants skip. (Mmm, goat huaraches.....) They have soccer on all the time, as the name might suggest, and this is the only place i know that basically guaranteed me all my Serie A games. So much devotion for that, let me tell you. This is hands-down the best Mexican restaurant in Knoxville, and they give you a discount for showing up in soccer gear. (Even if it's the grotty stuff you just played a game in!) How awesome is that?!

Soccer + Taco = Win. So what if it's a nonsense word? This is my favorite Mexican place within the city limits. SoccerTaco is fun and serves up delicious food. Depending on the time of day, you can see some large parties here (10-15 people) at the main center table. SoccerTaco also has HUGE mugs of icy cold beer and frozen margaritas. For the culinarily adventurous, try something off the "Real Mexican Team" page. Who knows - maybe you'll enjoy a nice tripe quesadilla or some cow's cheek huaraches? My hands-down favorite is the chorizo quesadilla. Prices are very reasonable for the obscene amount of food you get if you order a combo meal. They have a lot of outdoor seating and the restaurant is located right at the top of Bearden Hill. I haven't had a chance to try the new location on Market Square, but I can only assume it's equally good.

i dont see all the hype. i guess after all the reviews i was hoping for something more authentic than all the rest of the mexican restaurants in town. really, it was the same. i got the pork carnitas and they were good but honestly had better at the chain restuarant abuelos. my son got enchiladas and they were the same ive ever eaten them anywhere else. i know they have a more authentic menu on back but its limited...my boyfriend got a cow tongue taco, it was alright. soccer taco wasnt bad but id just like to see a mexican restaurant pop up in knoxville that has some great homemade mexican food, like empanadas and real salsa, all cooked to order. tired of this mass premade americanized mexican stuff. not only is knoxville lacking in non chain restaurants, but lacking in good non chain restarants as well

I came here with Grandpa on a Friday night for dinner and we not only got great seats but our waiter was the bomb. We tipped him very well. He gave us salsa and chips to start and because I am addicted to warm tortilla chips with chunky salsa, I gobbled them up in a matter of minutes and before I even finished it fully, our waiter bought a new batch! He refilled both the salsa and chips 3x! I think our waiter felt bad for Grandpa not getting any salsa and chips. He also bought out our food fast and made sure we were never low on water. Good employees like this are hard to find! Additionally, it was a busy night. I ordered: Churros - there's chocolate stuffed in the middle. I was not a happy camper. They should have wrote that in the description because I'm not a huge chocolate fan. the churros were crispy but the chocolate killed it for me. Flan - hm..it was okay. I don't recall wanting to gobble this up. Stuffed pepper - the sauce for this dish felt off. I'm not sure what sauce would be a better match but it definitely wasn't the marina sauce. I ate it without the sauce because I just love cheese. After dinner, we played a few rounds of foosball! It was so much fun. FYI - One side is more stiff than the other. Overall, I had better Mexican food but I loved the speed service, salsa and chips, and our waiter!

Soccer Taco is a really good version of your standard Mexican fare. Some highlights are the Eagle Burrito Cheese Steak, which is a mess to eat, but well worth it. If you're there in the early afternoon, check out the huevos con chorizo. It's sorta breakfasty, and is a lot of food, but some of the best I've had. Also, the lunch options are really inexpensive, which is a plus.

Soccer Taco is probably the most consistent Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. The food is always fresh, the portions are always large, and everything tastes great! I definitely recommend the chimichangas. Also, they have a great "authentic Mexican" section of the menu, which is nice when I'm looking for a change. People obviously love the fact that so many sports are broadcast here, but I tend to stay away on big game days. It gets SO crowded.

Soccer Taco is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Knoxville. Not only is it not a chain, but it offers several unique dishes you won't find at competing eateries including cow's head, cow's cheek, tongue and Chorizo. They provide warm chips and spicy salsa for free with each meal. Also great is their outdoor patio, especially on a warm evening during happy hour. You'll want to stay indoors during a sporting event because of the many TVs positioned around the room (more than soccer). The place can be packed on Friday and weekends making it hard to find a parking space in their small lot. Another bonus: This place never allowed smoking in their indoor dining room, which means its been clean since before the ban.

8/11/09 EDIT: **After being here so many times for just margaritas we finally ate here Sunday night! And I have only one thing to say... FISH TACOS... if you like fish... please reward yourself with this wonderful yummy dish! Pan fried tilapia in warm flour tortillias with lettuce, a tomato salad, rice (or beans) and a sour cream sauce. SO GOOD! ** We like going here for drinks. Huge Margaritas for $8!!!!! And they are soooo good! We had Peach (I love fruity margaritas!)they were awesome. I can't say anything about the food (other than the free chips and salsa) but The menu looked pretty typical mexican with a few different options. It was really low priced... and its always busy. Everyone seems to love it here. The have a very nice patio to relax on... latino music playing the background.... very good chips and salsa!! Great service! We will be back for more!

  • Natalie D.

The food is delicious! TV's on every wall are usually playing big international soccer games and between them are soccer balls, even soccer balls decorated like jack-o-lanterns around Halloween time. Great happy hour specials. The parking is limited and you may have to cheat and park in nearby lots and walk.

  • Gisela C.

oh my goodness this food isn't worth it. I got a taco and a torta and that is the most simplest thing they can make and they couldn't even get it correct! It lacked flavor u hear me? flavor! but there drinks were good magaritas I'm referring to. I wouldn't come back

  • J C.

I've only been here once but I don't think I'll ever go back again. Prior to entering the restaurants with friends, I said "you can't mess up Mexican food" but apparently you can. My fiancée and I had both had dishes with ground beef and it was really salty in both dishes. I ate a few bites and had to stop eating it. My guess is that it had been sitting around overseasoned. The only thing that saves this from being a 1 star review is that I tried my friend's dish with grilled shrimp and vegetables and I had to admit it was pretty good. The dish was pretty cheap and could feed about 3-4 people, depending on how hungry you are, so it's not a total loss. All in all, if I'm invited by friends to go out to Soccer Taco, I might indulge them but I would never go back of my own accord. Way better ethnic food elsewhere.

The Sopes are big! Great service. I had a dish that was too saltie for me, so the waiter took it off my bill, that was a great gesture, that's what I call taking care of your customers. So I left a big fat tip.

Soccer Taco is my favorite mexican restaurant in Knoxville. I really love the chile rellanos and the fish tacos!

  • Doug C.

Very good for Americanized Mexican food. They are generous with the chips / salsa and the portions are good-sized. The enchiladas are my favorite and they have no issue with orders to-go. The ambiance in the restaurant is great... soccer theme and big screen TVs. It's a fun place with good food.

  • Robert R.

I agree with the previous reviewers. This really is the best Mexican restaurant in Knoxville. They have recently updated (Americanized) their decor and menu layout but most of the food is really the same. You can find most of the usual items on the menu but as Patrick wrote there are some items, listed under " The Mexican Team" that are really good. They Have tacos, Sopes, and huaraches (big flat tortilias served with meat on top) and tortas (Mexican sandwiches) all with your choice of meats. They are all very good but my favs are the al pastor, and carnitas, cabesa is also good. I think the food is very authentic especially if you order from "The Mexican Team".

    (4)
  • Merissa M.

You def don't go here for the food you go for the Margaritas! Food is average. Their Chicken soup however is pretty amazing but who orders chicken soup from a Mexican restaurant? The Market Square location is great in the spring, summer and fall for outside seating.

Decent Mexican food is you are looking for a sports bar; otherwise just okay. Our food came out quick bit they brought the wrong dish. I ordered the fish tacos after reading another yelper's review and was disappointed.

To be frank, it seems like the best Hispanic food can only be found in a hole in the wall taquería. But if you're not caught up on your Spanish to order or read a menu that's only in Spanish, or you're looking for a step up from chipoltle/moe's/q'doba, then Soccer Taco is a nice place to be. The chips were warm and crisp, way better than the usually stale chips you get from Chipotle. I looked over the menu and paid extra special attention to the section labeled "The Real Mexican Team" The items in this part of the menu appear to be more authentic to Mexico than Tex-Mex, such as Lengua (tongue), Cachete (cow cheeks), and Tripa (tripe). Not ready to step too far out of the box yet, I tried out the asada steak quesadilla and a pastor "de verdad" taco (it's basically a seasoned and rotisserie thin pork steak in strips). Both dishes were outstanding considering the cost and the fact that Knoxville is not a culinary mecca. Because they cooked these dishes so well, I'm not so afraid to try something a little more exotic. My advisor recommended the Cachete.

Yep - this place serves real good authentic Mexican food despite the name that makes it sound like a Taco Bell or something. I love the huaraches - big open face corn tortillas with your choice of meat, cheese, avocado, chips, and really good salsa. You can get tripas, cheek, tongue, carnitas, and a wide variety of meats you'll have a hard time finding away from the border. Service is always top notch and the waiters/waitresses are professional and courteous. They have the regulars - taco salads, burritos, tacos, tamales, etc, if that's what you're looking for, too.

I came here at the suggestion of my daughter who goes to school nearby, but I ended up disappointed. Ordered a combo with a beef taco and a tamale. The tamale was dry and had an odd flavor about it. The best thing on the plate was the rice and beans, which was just standard Mexican restaurant fare. Service was prompt and friendly and our waiter kept the water and tea coming. The restaurant was loud, mostly due to the wait staff.

This place is the best thing to happen to Bearden Hill since Daryl's, and I'm not being sarcastic. I really like the big red bus. Anyway, at Soccer Taco, you get what you expect. Live soccer (football and baseball games too) and great Mexican food. Regarding the food, it's more like the cheaper Mexican fare comparable to El Charro's. If you're looking for some higher-end Mexican food, try Agave Azul down the street. The atmosphere is fantastic. Lot's of TVs and not a bad seat in the house. Mexican beer and good margaritas to boot. Also, the owner is super cool, and love to chat in Spanish; if you can muster a few words, he'll play along. What's not to love.

The food is great, their people are always pleasant, and their margaritas are my favorite! I moved away for a while, and my first visit back they immediately recognized me and welcomed me back. Awesome! I tell everyone I know to eat here, hands down my favorite!!!

I've been to this establishment a few times. The service tends to very. However, I can tell you for certain if you want a margarita choose frozen. The frozen are actually quite good (when the machine WORKS) Their margaritas on the rocks are deplorable! I've watched the bartender make them numerous times and even a jumbo margarita will receive less than a half ounce of tequila. Imagine a sneeze worth, and that is perhaps a generous example. The chicken fajita quesadillas are AMAZING! The steak is plentiful but doesn't have the bang that the chicken provides. I would also steer away from the chorizo unless you like spicy dog food like mush. The chips and salsa are good (in large part to the fresh cilantro) and the atmosphere is always loud and busy which is nice if you are wanting some fun. In conclusion, try this place out and enjoy a frozen margarita!

I stopped here for lunch as I passed through Tennessee on my way to Oklahoma based on the name I was intrigued. The ambiance was cool, jerseys on the wall and a decent bar. I had the Goal Burrito, a little bland, nothing great, but I ate it all. My boyfriend ordered something that came with a taco and the taco had hardly any meat on it and it was soggy-so he hasn't impressed. I have to give 3 stars based on the speedy and polite service and cleanliness.

The food was pretty decent and seemed fairly priced. I mostly came for the margaritas but ended up disappointed. While their happy hour prices are cheap, their margs are not strong at all! They were also a little too sweet for me. We'll be back though I am sure!

Very Americanized. Pretty standard. I had to give it two stars, though, because the salsa was so offensive. It tastes like ketchup. It's called Cilantro and FRESH tomatoes, people. Tacos are standard. Quesadillas are standard. Margaritas are made with a mix, so those aren't too good. I actually really liked the charro beans, so that was a bright spot. Overall, mehhhhh.

My husband and I love this Soccer Taco. I suggest you order a monster frozen margarita...they are delicious! While you are sipping on your tasty drink, start out with the Queso Fundido served with warm soft tortillas. It is by far one of my favorite dishes here. They like to pile on the peppers, so we always ask for half the amount of peppers. The portions are large, so typically my husband and I will split an entree. Service has always been excellent for us. Sometimes, there is a wait to be seated....but we try to come early before the crowd. It is worth the wait!!

I went here the first night I was in Knoxville. Not too bad, but it's not up to par with the EXCELLENT Mexican food I've gotten in Texas. I had to wait about 20 minutes for a table, but that wasn't really a big deal for me. The margaritas here were great. Food was so-so, nothing to write home about. The salsa here was really good, and had a nice bite at the end. Would I come back, probably not, given in the other places in Knoxville I'd like to check out, but it wasn't bad.

This review is not on the entire menu only on what I ordered! So far the tacos de lengua are beyond amazing. The tortilla de maíz ( corn tortilla) is really good! The meat is very soft and you may not want to know the part of the animal it came from, but if you look beyond where it came from it really doesn't matter. Taste is key!! Salsa is ok!! Chips good! I'm from Texas and is in search for an authentic Mexican restaurant this palace is not to bad. What I would like incorporated Homemade flour tortillas Homemade warm salsa Mexican sodas (not jarritos) preferably Joya ( apple, grape, toronja and peach

Fantastic restaurant! I've wanted to stop in here for a very long time and finally had the chance the other day. The veggie fajitas are wonderful. When I've gone to Hispanic restaurants in the past, it was always hard for me to find a meal that had at least a little bit of veggies. However, this meal had everything. Not only were there the usual peppers and onions, but there was also cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots. The taste as the best part! Plus, the quantity was enough to have again for two more meals. With prices already so low, this was a win-win! In addition to my regular meal, I got a tamale. Super cheap and very yummy! My friend got the chicken fajita nachos. Lots of food and lots of variety on the plate. Service was great, too. Very prompt and friendly. My only recommendation is to mention about hot plates. I knew my fajita came on a cast iron skillet, but the guy put the plate on the table so quickly and took off without a reminder that I grabbed the handle to pull it closer to me. Minor burn on my thumb, but it's all good now.

Never been to Knoxville before but we went downtown for my friend's bachelor party. After a few bars, we decided to get some food and found Soccer Taco. We got there around 11:30 and even though the kitchen was about to close in 15 minutes, the waiters were very kind and helped us out as much as they could, they gave us good advice on the real authentic Mexican food and it did not disappoint!. We all got various tacos with carne asada, pastore, chipotle steak and several others, and the meat was fantastic. Comparing these tacos to tacos I have had in Mexico, the flavor and juiciness of the meat was spot-on. One warning is that there habanero hot sauce is quite hot and it is the kind that lingers and makes it hard to breath. But this is a great spot for a late-night outing. If I ever come back to Knoxville I will definitely try this place out for lunch and for dinner.

I ordered the chimichanga with steak which was good. However the jalapeño margarita were extremely spicy and not very good and the music was so loud it was hard to hear the people at our table talking

My all time favorite mexican restaurant! I used to live in Knoxville and went almost weekly! They are so nice and the food is consistent and so good. I was in town last week and we went - excellent as always. Mango or regular margarita ... yummmmm!!!! But my favorite part is they let my sweet little dog join me on the patio! Please open a location in Nashville!!!!!

The margaritas are great, and the food is freaking fantastic. The prices are reasonable, but if you go at lunch, everything is super cheap. The Eagle Burrito Cheese Steak is my favorite! Everything you could want on your plate. Definitely worth a shot! Parking kinda sucks though. You might have to park in the business lot next door.

One of my favorite Mexican restaraunts in town! The salsa tastes fresher than most with lots of cilantro. The fajita steak is always great as is the chicken. We have tried a million things and we recommend - Jose's burrito, tacos maracana, and burrito al carbon. I like this location so much better than market square. So yummy!

Food is consistent and yummy. The place is always packed but service is speedy. Margaritas are definitely from a mix...wish they were fresh.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
