We ordered 3 appetizers, sushi and Hibatchi dinners and everything was great. The service was good too. We were just passing through, but were happy to find such a great place while passing through.

It was good, not great. $17.95 for french kiss roll, cucumber roll, and avocado roll. To begin: the French kiss roll is really, really large and seemed like there was too much cream cheese and not enough shrimp, I mean for 9.99? Seems like u could get 2 shrimp or at least 1 big enough to go throughout the roll like in the menu description? Also it was drowned in mayo- pinky sauce, which caused it to fall apart. Sauce was good but just a lil bit would have been better. The shrimp was barely perceptible for the mayo and cream cheese. The avocado roll was on point but not so much the cucumber roll- which fell apart, when dipped in soy sauce. And these are the most basic rolls at a sushi bar... Finally, it would be REALLY nice if they gave you a small cup of soy sauce when you order take out. If you weren't going home to eat ( like eating in the car, at a park, taking back to work, etc) it would be impossible to mix the soy with wasabi and/or ginger...and again for the prices seems like they could throw in the lil plastic cup and instead of a half dozen teeny packets of soy sauce that spill everywhere when you open them. I'll be back, but if it's on this level again next time I think that'll be it for me.

I found this place when I was traveling for work. I'll come back if I pass by it again, but I probably won't go out of my way for it. The sushi was very good. I had the avocado roll - very fresh, bright beautiful green avocado, wrapped perfectly. I also had the shrimp tempura roll, very good. Mixture of flavors to please your pallet. Tempura was great, and the roll didn't fall apart. I really like sushi, so I also got the deep fried lobster roll. I was really excited for this one, but the flavors were a little disappointing. Granted, it was deep fried - and that can throw some things off, but I just didn't enjoy the flavors of the roll and the sauces used. The food all seemed fresh, and was good overall. I was dining by myself, because I was on the road. I felt a little ignored. I don't know if it was because it was just me, or because I was at the sushi bar. But for most of my time here, my water glass was empty and the waiter seemed to pass right over me. So, the food was good. 4 stars for good food. The service was ok. Minus one star for service, because they weren't rude, just missing. I would come back, but only expect simple, minimal service - and not order the lobster roll.

Love this place, the chefs put on a great show. The food is also really good. Also, you have to try the French kiss roll if you like sushi

Food is great! The sushi is amazing. Service is a little slow at times but they were very busy. We sat in the dining room wich is quieter but they had a very loud group in the grill area next to us. I can not fault the restaurant for this. It is not their fault for inconsiderate patrons. I will be returning but hopefully on a weekday when it is slower.

Discovered something new about this place I go to frequently - the quietness. I often avoid my favorite places at certain times due to this. Little Tokyo, even at full capacity, is quiet. Not a big deal unless your hearing is sensitive to gabby guffawing and the shrill pitch of excited masticaters, like me. This is a typical "hibachi" joint with very little on the menu, but they stick to what works - a pleasing wad of fried rice, tender chicken chunks with gooey hibachi sauce (not too salty or sweet- just right) and little crispy bits, a nice pile of zuke and onion and a sidecar of the ever inspiring "Shrimp Sauce" (which does not have shrimp in it but it is a nice pink color). Desperate hours have been spent trying to recreate it at home, to no positive effect. Now, I will say this - if I do eat an entire plate of the hibachi myself, I get that post sleepy/drugged feeling complete with red cheeks - so I do suspect MSG. So watch out if you are sensitive to that stuff. It could just be the massive caloric intake, though, as I have not confirmed that they use MSG. I never sit at the grill but that is because I don't like theatrical cookery or eating - but do bring the family if you like that sort of thing. What keeps me coming back is the sushi - lovely wads of fresh fish, plump little tempura shrimp and delightful combos like kiwi and almond slivers. The portions for the sushi are not huge, but just right for an appetizer or if you want to share the caloric load of the hibachi plate. I love that I can find good sushi without having to go "all the way" to downtown Knoxville.(I live in South Knoxville) The waitstaff is always sweet and prompt and the tables, floor and bathrooms are always very clean. The atmosphere is Japanese sparse modern, without anything really charming, except for the collection of cute lucky cats and sushi toys at the bar.

We're here once a week. Great food, nice people. Recently went up on prices a bit, but still a good value.

Great quality hibachi and good prices at lunch! The portions are huge and everything is made to order. I have a shellfish allergy and they always take extra precaution to prepare my order, although it takes longer for special requests-it's absolutely worth the wait! My favorite Japanese spot, hands down!
