My favorite place to eat. I try to stop by at least once per week. The food is always fresh and hot, and the staff is extremely courteous. Karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights is always the place to be. The sushi... Amazing. I suggest the Knoxville Roll.

Learned a hard lesson last night, if the table tops are flashing neon lights, chances are the food's not going to be that great. This place is interesting with the funky decor, the karaoke going on while you dine and a rather extensive menu, but it seems scatter shot and tries to be too many things at once and the quality suffers. I had the drunken noodle and it wasn't crisp nor fresh, maybe their Chinese dishes are better, not sure I would return here other than karaoke or to have a few drinks.

OK folks, I have eaten at many Asian restaurants in Knoxville and this facility ranks right at the bottom Ordered Hot and Sour soup. Arrived luke warm with very little taste. Next, Sesame Chicken. Arrived with enough rice to feed the homeless shelter, No sesame seeds and an orange sauce that resembled congealed Blood, very little taste!! Anyone who thinks this place is good needs to get out more often. My waitress is a sweetheart, the only shining moment in a rather dreary lunch. WILL NOT BE BACK...

Very disappointing. Went then once for dinner and it was OK, without being great, service was good. Went another day for lunch. Food was so bad that we all (party of three) sent it back to kitchen and left. Owner - to his credit - offered to prepare new food, but we declined. We paid, left a good tip to the waitress (not her fault) and walked away.

I am a regular here at Asia café West, and I'm sure I could write a book about how good this place is, but I'll keep it short and sweet. Food: The food here is amazing, look no further for amazing Asian food. The kitchen can just about make any Asian dish fathomable. And it's always delicious. Service: The service here is always great, the servers always are willing to help with any question I ask. Not to mention the manager and owner are two of the friendliest people I know. All in all an excellent place to eat in west Knoxville.

I was in the party that Angela P has spoken of in a review. This experience was appalling and frustrating. Angela P spoke the truth. What I don't understand is the server told us that a cook walked out today and the manager was trying to help in the kitchen. First a manager that can not perform every job in a restaurant should not be the manager. Second, no other customers seemed to be having a problem. A large party seated behind us were obviously regular customers and had great service. They came in about 45 minutes after we did and were served immediately, ate and left 45 minutes before we did. It appears that regulars were given special treatment while some of us did not get any food or food that was served was cold and the meat/seafood was burned. That takes effort by the kitchen staff. I will never go back.

The food is great but the manger needs to do something about the help. I ordered a To go order and it was missing part of it. When I called to let them know the lady who I talked to on the phone was very rude and wanted to argue that she had put it in the order herself. I did Not like being told I was a liar I told her she was welcome to come check. So I may enjoy the food but I will not be ordering from them again. They only got 2 stars because of the food.

Awesome. The owners are very nice. Food is wonderful. I had Vietnamese bun and the spring rolls. Could not be happier. Congratulations Lim family on your new location.

Ignore the ambiance, the decor is very mismatched and a little wonky but the food is so worth it. The sushi is way better than Nama, really quality ingredients and fresh. The Vietnamese is fantastic and the best in town.

Their sushi let me down. I had read what others said about Asia Cafe West's sushi and it's surprising. I must have arrived there on the wrong day, cursed with the wrong sushi man. It was terrible. Our server was wonderful, hands down. He checked on us about 2 to 3 times every 5 minutes which i thought was sweet. Good dude, definitely. He must have saw that the sushi i ordered was picked around a bit and examined meticulously. In my opinion, there are better sushi in Knoxville. Let me tell you how my sushi was that day: 1. Too much rice on the rolls. It took away from the fish 2. The cucumber was too cold and too crispy, also taking away the overall taste. 3. The cut wasn't fresh. I couldn't taste it. It must have been hindered by the rice. 4. Too much on proportion, focused less on quality The other dishes we did treat ourselves to were the Tom Kha Gai (exceptional, I must say. Pretty impressed. Probably the best dish i had there) and their Mongolian beef dish. Try both of them. The calamari appetizer was alright. Palatable. Not the best. Other than that, servers were super chill, kind, and courteous. The environments pretty awesome, because they have karaoke and pool tables. The place is spacious. But yeah man, their sushi. I dont know.

The Good - Polite staff. - Good service. - Food came out fast. - Portions are large. - The sweet tea is excellent. The Bad - The General Tso's chicken did not taste good. It was tough too. - The egg drop soup had large jello like globs in the bottom. Not egg. Seemed to be the soup part that had gelled some how. The Ugly - Some of the booths look like they have been repaired with duct tape. - The place looks dated and dirty. I won't be going back. I used to eat here a lot when it was a different restaurant and liked that one a lot better than this one. That says a lot since the last one was pretty bad near the end.

The service was good. However, the food my brother and I ordered was pretty terrible. Mediocre is the effect word to describe this place, although the decor was quite interesting. My main qualm, though, was with their bathrooms. Somebody had obviously gotten sick over a day before I walked in there and it had only been wiped up. It was absolutely disgusting. Long story short, if you're looking for a cheap place to eat, go for it, but don't expect much more.

Was seated. Drink order taken. Told one guy that I was still waiting to order. Never saw anyone again. The place smells like a strip club. You know, like cheap musk? I walked out. The Callahan Rd location is excellent. I'm not sure what is happening here. Expensive, too, for the cheap feeling atmosphere.

Seriously the most wonderful place to eat Asian food in Tennessee. I'm a regular here and I just want to clear the air with most of these bad reviews. The owners and workers at Asia West are some of the most patient and kind that you're going to find in the business. A lot of these reviews are based on a sole employee who has since left. The service that I have received has always been top of the line and in my opinion if you are polite to your server, they will give you the same courtesy. As for their food... the menu is vast and everything is wonderful. I am a big fan of the Hibachi Chicken and Shrimp. (Side note their homemade shrimp sauce is WONDERFUL). They offer a variety of tastes for a picky eater and will always cater to you (aka me). And as for the decor, I think it's so quirky and over the top that it is perfect. The karoake is awkward to sit and try to eat sometimes, but if you sit in the bar, you get quite the entertainment. All in all? This place is perfect.

The menu is too long which makes it impossible to deliver great tasting dishes. The menu is not very creative. Expect to find what you find at every American Chinese. The karaoke area is really authentic. Where else can you sit on the toilet while you eat or have drinks? One of the tables in the karaoke area has a toilet as a seat. Will probably go back.

My husband and I stopped here on our way back to Columbus from Gatlinburg and we loved it. He is a vegetarian about which they were very knowledgable and accommodating. They made me a special dish that wasn't even on the menu and it was excellent. This was by far the best meal we had during the entire trip.

I must say I'm a bit of a sushi snob, and this place is excellent! I was not expecting the best when I decided to go there, and they proved me wrong! Very fresh and great portions. Not only is it some of the best sushi I've had in this town, but some of the best service as well. The staff is all very friendly and professional. I didn't have to ask for anything. After working in several sushi and fusion restaurants I can appreciate this and was very impressed all around. Go on a Friday for karaoke and/or pool :) My new fav! -just tried the stir fry and had to adjust my rating a little bit. Veggies were cut very large and sauce was bland. The fried rice was decent but I will stick with the sushi!

Worse service ever! Me and my folks have been weekly customers, ever since "jimmy" I guess a manager was let go that place went down gradually, the last 2 times were just awful, 35 mins waiting for a roll and 30 to get your check, the worse is that it was only our table and other 2 tables, it was not even busy, don't get me wrong the food was great but the service terrible. we are not going back. Thanks Asian cafe west for letting JIMMY go, now the place is in downhill

I honestly did not expect much from this place BECAUSE of their extensive menu. Sort of a "jack of all trades, master of none" situation, you know? But we had to try it, and I'm glad we did. Asia Cafe might just be the best Asian restaurant in Knoxville. We went in and the decor was, uh, flashy to say the least. In the case of the host podium, I mean that literally - the podium had LED lights or something in it that changed every few seconds. We felt a little bit like we'd just walked into a strip club (which, by the way, is how I just realized I'm going to make my fortune - a strip club that serves pan-Asian food. "Strippers and Stir-Fries."Nobody steal my idea.) There's a giant chandelier in the dining room. The atmosphere was SO over the top that it actually circled back around to being awesome. Service was great. Our waiter was attentive but not overbearing, and kept our glasses full. He also didn't openly mock us when we ordered three dishes between the two of us, which is a plus in my book. Alright, you say, get to the food. Okay. I had a minor panic attack trying to decide what to eat. Their menu covers Chinese (both the American-style Chinese that we're all used to, plus some more authentic dishes like the descriptively-named "Asia Cafe Exotic Stewed Pig and Cow Internal and Body Parts"), Vietnamese, hibachi, sushi AND several Malaysian and Thai dishes. Fifteen minutes of hyperventilating later, I finally chose the Chow Kueh Teow, which is rice noodles with egg, green onions, bean sprouts and a wonderfully spicy sauce. I realized after I ordered that the waiter didn't ask me how hot I wanted the dish and I was worried it wouldn't be spicy. My fears were unfounded. It was plenty hot for me, and probably TOO hot for people who aren't big on spicy foods. I really loved my dish, but it turned out to be the lesser of the entrees we ordered. My friend ordered the chicken pho. Oh man, you guys, that was the best pho I've had anywhere so far. A lot of times, I find pho broth a little TOO sweet, and this one was not. It was loaded with long rice noodles and came with the standard dish of lime, jalapeno, thai basil, etc. SO GOOD. I will be getting it sometime very soon. I was ready to eat all of it, much to the dismay of my dining partner, who had actually ordered the entree for herself. A caveat, though! Do not order the large bowl unless you are aiming to feed a small army. My friend had a choice between large and small, and of COURSE she ordered the large one. It was basically a mixing bowl full of pho. The pho was the hit of the night, but coming in a VERY close second was the banh-mi we ordered to split. Banh-mi, if you've never had it, is a Vietnamese sandwich on bread. You don't often think about sandwiches being a part of Asian cuisine, but I understand it comes from France's long colonization of Vietnam. I have only gotten to try banh-mi once before this and I loved it, but Asia Cafe's banh-mi was even better. We ordered it with pork. I unfortunately can't recall everything that was on it, but it was LOADED with fresh jalapenos. We took a few out after we realized the lining was peeling from inside our cheeks. The pork was really good quality (as was all the meat in each entree, actually - not that rubbery stuff you find so frequently in Asian restaurants), and marinated in something with just a faint hint of sweetness. It didn't bother me at all and if you've read any of my reviews, you know I loathe sweet entrees with a passion. The bread was typical french bread, but not too crusty to eat. It was delicious. And do you know what made it even more delicious? IT WAS THREE DOLLARS. I really need to emphasize that: THREE. DOLLARS. That's cheaper than a Subway sandwich, and leagues better. That blew my mind. It's not a HUGE sandwich or anything, so a person with a big appetite might need two to keep them satisfied, but even then. . .I can't get over how inexpensive the banh-mi is. Other than that, the prices were pretty standard. My dinner with a soda came out to $13 before tip and I believe my friend's bill was around the same price. We went at 7:00 pm on a Sunday night and it wasn't very crowded - I don't often dine out on Sundays so I don't know what a 7:00 pm crowd should BE like, but either way, more people need to try this place RIGHT NOW. Go go go!

The atmosphere was different. You walk in and immediately notice the ever changing colored hostess stand; however, I really liked the waterfall in the middle of the dining room. Not something you see much of in restaurants. The restrooms are near the entrance. There is a bar to the left as you enter and the dining area to the right, which is nice to see them separated. The drinks are large, so you may not need refills. There were three different menus to look at. The regular lunch / dinner menu, the lunch specials menu, and the sushi menu. The sushi menu was extensive with sashimi, sushi, and all kinds of other items. The lunch sushi specials were great! They had select sushi rolls which were 1/2 off at lunch, so $3 for a California Roll is really good! They aren't your typical large / thick rolls, but medium/bite size pieces. Among the Lunch / Dinner menu has Vietnamese, Chinese, and American-Chinese. The menu is quite extensive, so trying to decide if you want something (Or if you've even heard of some of the items listed) might take you a few minutes. My husband got the hibachi combination which was a LOT of food. The plate was very full. I ordered a California Roll, Eel Sashimi, and Miso Soup. All were delicious and definitely prepared fresh. I would suggest getting a couple rolls because they aren't very large. There were two downsides to our visit. My husband ordered his meal without broccoli and mushrooms and it came with both of them. I don't feel that they sensered the music selections because "I was stoned and I missed it" by Shel Silverstein isn't exactly restaurant quality music. I really liked that their sushi was fresh and inexpensive. Our lunch was under $25 total, which isn't bad for sushi and hibachi. Overall, I'd definitely go again!

Came here based solely on other reviews. Should've saved myself a trip and gone to Bida Saigon. Ordered tempura veggies and pork spring rolls. Veggies were bland, spring rolls were just ok. Horrible service, after being given a Vietnamese menu, was told after we ordered that no Vietnamese food was being made. The mong beef was almost uneatable, obviously not using quality beef product. Had to get server off her phone to get a to go box and my check. DO NOT GO HERE!!!

This spot has the best hibachi I've had in Knoxville. The sushi is also excellent,I've tried at least six different rolls and was happy with them all. Additionally, the service is top notch and very accommodating. All in all, reasonable prices and great food.

best sushi in knoxville in my opinion based solely on how good the spider roll was. it still missed one thing or 5 stars would have been the score. spider rolls have to have the crabs legs sticking out of them or people around me are not sufficiently grossed out and that makes me sad face:(

It was a 5 star restaurant in terms of their food but I went after they switched chefs recently and not only did their menu cut down to less than a third of what was originally offered, the food was awful. I got the pho and curry. Pho noodles were overcooked, the broth was vey cloudy and tasteless and the meat was impossible to chew. I chewed and chewed and chewed and tried to swallow and still almost choked. The curry was extremely salty and sweet. Unless I hear that the original chef returned, never going back.
