The bread and marina they give you when you get seated was delicious and they will refill as many times as you want!!! I got the Hawaiian calzone and added ricotta cheese and bacon; it was delicious too!! I expected to get charged extra for the additional toppings but I wasn't :) The reason for 4 stars and not 5 was because they charge you $2 extra, for the same size calzone, if you order at dinner (after 4pm) instead of lunch, RIDICULOUS!!

My son and I are popup camping at Warriors Path State Park and wanted to eat locally. We chose Crazy Tomato based on the high Yelp rating and we wanted pizza. As other reviewers have stated: the food was great, the service was above par, and the floors were sticky and in need of cleaning We were seated promptly and the server brought us some flat bread and sauce as an appetizer. The menu had plenty of choices and the prices were great. The most expensive item I saw was 13 bucks. My son ordered a personal pan pizza and I had the Catalina Florentine. We were both very satisfied with our choices and portions. I ordered a glass of Cabernet for 4.95 and it was good too. It was while we were eating that my 13-year-old son pointed out that the floor under our table was very sticky. Overall, we were very satisfied with Crazy Tomato!

The food is not good. Drive by. Don't stop. Filthy bathrooms. There must be another in Kingsport as the one I ate at could not have received the reviews we read that convinced us to stop.

This is one of the few choices fairly near the hotel I was staying at and YELP gave it a high rating so off we went. The dining room is rustic with a ranch type feeling, nice but dirty. There were crumbs and napkins under the tables and it has been some time since the window sills have been cleaned. We ordered personal pizzas and a salad. The wine list is extremely limited with brands from the bottom shelf at the grocery stores. I ordered a glass which was ample but again....bottom shelf. The pizza was delicious. I would swear it as cooked in a brick oven but the very nice waitress said it wasn't. The crust was bubbly, the white cheese and spinach were plentiful. But the house dressing tasted like red wine vinegar straight from the bottle, aweful. We each took half of our pizzas home, they were huge and filling.

I love the large size if the individual slices and the size of the garden salads! The prices are great. The service is hit or miss if you dine in, but we carry out usually.

We stopped for lunch on a roadtrip after seeing the other yelp reviews and were extremely disappointed. The service was good but the food was mediocre at best. Most of what we ordered came out tasting like it had been sitting out for a while and then reheated in the microwave. I would definitely not stop here again or recommend it to anyone else.

Great little surprise! I've been three times in the last year and each time I get the spinach chicken parmesan. The last two times at lunch, I got the children's portion, plenty. They serve baked pizza crust buttered and seasoned, with marinara sauce for dipping, as a free appetizer. Service was attentive.

We stopped in here for dinner on our way home from a trip. My wife ordered a salad ($2.99) and an individual pizza ($5 something). She was expecting the typical small bowl of lettuce with a crouton and a tomato and a pizza that is the typical size that you get at somewhere like Pizza Hut. She was surprised on both accounts. The salad was huge and had lots of goodies in it (green pepper, black olive, red onion, mushrooms, tomatoes, cheese...) and was not small at all. The pizza was also much larger than expected - It was a diamond shape, that I would estimate to be about double the size of a normal individual pizza. I ordered the spinach lasagna. It was not as thick (i.e., not too many layers) as I had expected, but the flavor was wonderful and I had plenty of food (left overs were brought home). The food was great and our the meals were under $10 each! If you're in the area, give them a try!

Excellent, stopped in here on a road trip vacation, family of six, and everyone liked it, and the prices are very reasonable. Calzone, pizza, chicken parm ... all great. BTW, the $$$$ rating that yelp currently shows is clearly a mistake - this is single $ or $$ at most - nothing over $11 for a single person, and most things well under that.

Drove from San Diego and stopped because of the sign on the interstate. The place was packed. Great service, tasty food, and great prices!

The service was quick, the food was fantastic and the price was astounding. $4 for a generous caesars salad, and $5 for a personal pepperoni pizza which could still be shared by two. This place is great!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
