Latham's has the best pulled pork I have ever tasted. Every time I visit Jackson, I try to stop in for a yummy treat. This time I came in for the breakfast which I had just learned that they were serving. I had an egg, pork tenderloin and tomato biscuit. It was very tasty. My family tried their chocolate gravy (definitely a tradition in this little town). It was cream based, but although I prefer the more syrupy kind, it was still pretty yummy. You just can't go wrong with home-cooking and good BBQ here. If you're in Jackson, don't pass it up.

Iam surprised this place has been open so long the food is horrible. I have gone their a few times and it has never tasted good.

Great food, fair price and friendly staff. This is my kids favorite place for breakfast. If it's just me and my daughter I'll get bacon eggs and a biscuit the portions are so huge it'll feed us both. The restaurant is very unassuming and a haunt for older gentle men to congregate, a place to take you family and feel good about it.

I love Lathams all around! Warning: Don't go here if you're on a diet. Their portions are very large, very flavorful, and naturally pretty fatty. The ribs are probably the best I've had anywhere. They don't come with any sauce on them, which I like because they don't need it. The hickory smoked flavor speaks for itself. Oh, and if you're looking for a great sandwich there, the BLT is a sure winner as well. They literally put 7 or 8 strips of bacon on each sandwich along with two thick slices locally grown tomatoes and fresh lettuce. Very delicious! Staff that works here is very southern charming as well.

We drove into town to eat lunch with an old friend of my husbands and I asked if he could recommend a BBQ joint, he is a local after all. So glad he chose Latham's. The place is a bit of a whole in the wall but isn't that were all the good food is! We arrived shortly after 1 on a Wednesday and there was about 30 people waiting in line for to go orders. Lucky the line for dine in was short. I chose the 1/2 rack of Ribs plate ($14.99) and my husband got the same with a pulled pork sandwich on the side. Both were amazing and the hot sauce they have is just right. I would gladly eat here again when we pass through Jackson. They are only open 6am-6pm

Southern California-born, I have recently realized that the food I called barbecue my whole life is not, in fact, barbecue. Shocking, I know. What you do on Memorial Day outside with your family is *grilling.* I digress. From the outside, I was a little skeptical about my family-in-law's claim that we were going to have amazing barbecue. I glanced around the austere surroundings, and ordered a pulled pork sandwich with beans and mashed potatoes. I brought it tentatively to my table and took a bite. Okay, I can get used to this. The barbecue was good, though not amazing. The sauce, as others have said, is a bit watery and could use a bit more flavor. So why the four stars, you ask? Because I could have eaten and ENTIRE PLATE of their potato salad and beans. Ah-mazing. The staff was friendly, especially considering our huge group coming out of nowhere, and I would be thrilled to get a great sandwich and sides when I go to the butcher for my meat.

While I think it was a good attempt at being different, the overwhelmingly strong raw meat smell on the side of my bland bbq with watery more bland bbq sauce was not so great. So it's a butcher shop + bbq restaurant + corner store + deer proceesing/skinning place... cool yes. but the food was not so much. I think I was nauseous for a full day after. The people were nice, the mailman, police officer, etc -- everyone eats here. But the meat was flavorless and the bbq sauce was runny (I know it's a TX vs TN style thing...but just wasn't a fan). Maybe it was the raw hog legs and internal organ smell that really turned me off.

Solid Random BBQ joint in Jackson. I got a pulled pork sammy for $3.00 with a side of baked beans and couldn't have been more pleased. The pork was a little on the fatty side, but the smokey flavor was there. The hot BBQ sauce was pretty dang pleasant, not firey hot, but noticeable. The only drink size is jumbo, which I indulged in a sweet tea. (I felt my teeth rotting from my head as I drank it). Everyone here is really friendly, which is a huge perk. It really gave it a down home feel.

I've been to Latham's a dozen times. Yes they smoke things. Yes they have barbecue sauce. Even still, I am find myself not excited to go here. Maybe it's the building in serious need of renovation. Maybe it's my palate. (I love BBQ, but am mystified by this place.) Three stars for the fact that they are an institution and they have a wide variety of smoked meats (not just pulled pork). Just three stars because this really isn't anything to write home about.

If you are ever in Jackson Tenn you must try the ribs here at this place they are mouth watering and you can pull the meat off the bones with your fingers. It's so good it needs no sauce!! It was recommended by the hotel. I was skeptical, because it was empty when I walked in, however after sampling the ribs I was in heaven!! If you want real Barbeque this is your place!!

Paul Latham is as hospitable as his BBQ is delicious; despite being closed for a party, he had us come anyway for takeout - so glad we did.

It wasn't until our office manager here in Nashville chose to have Latham's catered to a business event I attended in Jackson, TN that I even knew this place existed, even though my parents live there. I had to tell them about it. The spread was immaculate but it wasn't heavily advertised as being from Lathams; I looked on the sauce bottle to find that out. A southerner, I've tried a lot of BBQ in my life and I have to say, this rivals some of the best. Melt in your mouth pork, delicious baked beans, slaw, and potato salad almost as perfect as my mom's-- not too mayonnaise-y, and just the right amount of mustard. Complete with thick, warm cherry or peach cobbler for dessert. I do not live in Jackson, but when I visit there I may have to hit up Latham's for some good BBQ action.
