Great cheap place to eat. The service started off a lil iffy, but our server cleaned it up. The food was excellent. It came out quick and was super fresh and hot. I also had a jumbo mango margarita that was sooo good, and one was all I needed. I would definitely return.

We just left Las Palmas in Rivergate and I must say the food and the service was excellent!!! My wife and myself and then eating at this location for over 10 years, we absolutely love the new menu my wife had the new Chile Relleno burrito with steak and I had the Ribs..four words,YUMMY IN MY TUMMY!!! We normally ask for our favorite server Q he is the best but tonight he was the manager!!! We were very happy to see that he had gotten a promotion very long deserved, Juan was our server tonight he did an outstanding job everyone is always very friendly and we feel like this is home from home for us. We eat at this location at least once week and will continue to do so. Keep up the great work great food and great staff you have!!!!

Service was okay. Food was overpriced & lukewarm. Burrito I ordered was flavorless and tortilla was like cardboard. Hot sauce was tomato sauce with taparito added in it. Margaritas over priced. First and last time we come here

I ordered takeout and the portion looked like a kids meal. I was upset to find a tablespoon of rice and beans after I just paid them $10 for my meal. I'm sure what they have in abundance is at least rice. The food was disgusting. Save your time and money. The food is no good here. Oh, except the salsa. They have decent salsa.

I've been there many times over the years, and the food has always been decent. I was there with a friend earlier on and the waitress was nice, but we kept running out of chips and drinks, and I was short a chimichanga on my meal, the runner who brought our food bailed before we even had a chance to tell him, we yelled to him and he kept going. We almost finished our meals by the time the waitress came back, and then the guy comes back asking if I'm sure I was short one. I said yes of course I'm sure and I tried to tell you before you rudely stormed off. Mistake after mistake on the bill, we were just trying to get out of there. They charged me for an extra cheese dip we didn't order, and I told the cashier the service was atrocious and we'd probably not be back. All he did was apologize but never delved deeper into the problem. They deserve the failure they get. I won't be back.

Compared to the other locations around town, this was severely underwhelming. The hostess gave the impression that there was anything in the world she'd rather be doing than existing in that moment. It took eight minutes to be seated in what looks like an old Wendy's location that was half empty at two o'clock on Saturday, well beyond any lunch rush. Having just moved north of Briley Pkwy, the one positive of this experience was the quality people watching. It only took another twelve minutes for someone to acknowledge our presence and ask if we would like something to drink so that we'd at least have to pay for something. We eventually were introduced to another person who was serving in the capacity of a waiter for the remainder of the time it took us to beg him to order and then almost immediately beg for the check. I was starving, so yes, I ate most of what was placed in front of me. But that dish was not their signature 'LP Special'. In hindsight, we should have left before even having been seated. It would have saved everyone involved such a horrible experience. I will endeavor to find some other Mexican restaurant near our new home in Madison.

With a sign on the side proudly proclaiming "best margaritas in town", Las Palmas had me at "best." A smallish place with a parking lot that's been maximized to cram vehicles in, everything about the place shouted "get ready for goodness!" Authentic offerings plus a handful of creative dishes line the menu, including a lo-carb burrito(!) Having had my share of heavy fare of late, I ordered the grilled fish with steamed veggies and rice. Now, about those margaritas. The house marg was rockin' - so, truth in advertising in action. But then I spotted the Palmarita, a jumbo marg with Grand Marnier, your tequila of choice and the house special mix. I went with Patrón Anejo. Holy manna - awesome! The fish was tender and crispy around the edges with light, buttery flavor. Rice and veggies were good, even better with some Cholula hot sauce. Looks like the place used to be a Wendy's and they've utilized the space as best they probably could, with the bar occupying a small corner. The music was traditional great and my server was very friendly and genuinely seemed to enjoy her job. Prices were quite reasonable for most dishes with a few higher priced specials (in the $12-$14 range.) All in all, Las Palmas rocks! I think this may become my default Mexican stop when hitting Nashville from now on (and there's a gun shop next door - one stop shopping!)

I've been here a couple of times, neither time have I been impressed by the vegetarian plates. I'm a fast eater, I admit it... I was raised by wolves.. however any time I've been there with people I am always done way before them because the veggie plates seem to be other plates sans meat. As in, if it had meat and weighed 3 pounds it would weigh 2 pounds as a veggie option. This is the only place I've been at where I leave after a plate full of food and feel like I'm still capable of eating another meal entirely. Combine with it not being all that remarkable veggie fare, and it's not something I lust after. Plenty of other restaurants that are tastier and more food for the veggiefolk. I hear from my meat-eating cohorts who were there with me it's good though..

The standard for mediocre, watered down, gringo friendly, greasy, inauthentic "Mexican" food in Nashville. Did I mention over priced? To say the salsa tastes like it is straight from a can would be false praise. Taco Bell is a better example of traditional south of the border cuisine.

A very good Mexican restaurant that gets it all right most, if not all of the time. We love the new e-club. The food is very tasty, the margarita's are great and the service is professional and friendly. Highly recommended.

The food here wasn't exactly a symphony of flavor in my mouth and the chips/salsa are what you'd expect of an East Coast American-Mexican restaurant. They do not offer fish tacos, which is unusual to me. But the staff was pleasant and they have large margaritas (half off at happy hour 4pm-8pm Sunday-Thursday).

First off, I feel a little guilty giving them only 3 stars as this is my BF's favorite Mexican restaurant...(he loves the Palmas Nachos) and is one of the few "exotic" restaurants he'll go to. (They definitely did not eat a variety of cuisines growing up like I did) I grew up in California and also lived in Texas so I feel like I have a good understanding of traditional Mexican cuisine. (there are a couple here in Nashville, but not many) I've been to almost all of the Las Palmas restaurants in the Nashville area and this is probably my favorite. the food seems extra fresh here and service is nice without being "in your face" all the time. The Margaritas are good (and cheap) but this time I got a Dos Equis - large. This thing was HUGE! I felt like I should have been at Oktoberfest with this big stein. (but I love XX on draft) I had the Carne Asada, which was good, a little bit dry but it wasn't bad and of course he had the Los Palmas Nachos. He want to be a little daring so he added steak to it rather than just chicken (shocking!) You would think he just invented the light bulb, the best he ever had, ever. (direct quote) Overall some mix reviews between us, but if you want some good Mexican food that is a far price, this is it.

Good food, nice service, but SLOW....never got any refills on our water and had to finally flag waiter down for our check.

I went here once, at dinner time. I had the Tres Banditos, where it's 3 different types of enchilada. It was VERY good. The servers were a little hard to communicate with since they were actually Hispanic, so I had to tap into the part of my mind that stored Spanish from when I took it in high school. After I showed the server that I could speak his language, he flirted with me the whole time, which was NOT a plus. It seemed like they cared a little too much about our service and basically wouldn't leave us alone to eat. Overall, it's an OK restaurant, obviously better than Taco Bell or something because it's actual authentic Mexican food, but if you're a hot girl, DO NOT speak Spanish to the waiter. lol

those that have not tried the shrimp taco salad have not lived lol you get plenty of fresh shrimp with flavor that is better than some of the fancy restaurants. the nachos and salsa are good. the white cheese sauce is good the chicken and beef are good. but the shrimp is very good. i sometimes crave the shrimp taco sald and have to have it lol they put about 15 good size shrimp in it. the rest is above average and better than alot of places but trust me on my tip.

i had not been to Las Palmas in a while and went back tonight. The food tasted very fresh. The fajitas were really good. I highly recommend the cheese dip. Their margaritas are cheap and pretty good (cheaper than a latte!). My kids love it and we will be back.

This is my favorite Mexican place in middle TN prices are fair and the food is great. In the past the service has been bad, not rude just slow. However as of late they have really improved.

I don' t know the secret of Las Palmas, but somehow these guys manage to own and operate dozens of tasty little authentic Mexican joints throughout the greater Nashville area, and virtually all of their cuisine at each location is the same. As is the case with the other Las Palmas restaurants in Nashville, this one is a good, solid joint to grab some lunch with friends. Every once in a while, service is a bit slow. That's typically during your usual lunch hours, however, and if you go after the rush you'll probably be seated and served very quickly. The salsa at this Las Palmas tends to be a bit spicier than most, but I like it. They offer some pretty cheap lunch specials, and it's located near the mall and several other places of interest in the Rivergate area. As I say with most of my Goodlettsville reviews, I wouldn't recommend heading out that way just for kicks. If you're there doing some shopping, however, Las Palmas is a friendly and familiar spot to do some speedy dining.

Great Mexican food. If we are near Rivergate and it is close to lunch time we always stop in.

The service was mediocre at best - I ordered a long island tea - worst I've ever had not to mention way to expensive $7.50. Saving grace - the food was very good.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
