I am shocked to be the first person to review this restaurant. We found it by accident, but are we ever glad we did. I've been to a number of Chinese buffet restaurants, but none had the selection and quality of food preparation that this one did. There is a salad bar and a dessert bar, but the number of Chinese food stations is quite amazing. Every single thing I tried was outstanding, but standouts for me were the crab & cheese bake, the butter shrimp, coconut shrimp, stuffed crab in the shell, lo mein, and chicken teriyaki. They also had a good selection of wonderful desserts, including both Chinese dishes and local favorites (e.g., peach cobbler). Oh yes, they had a number of non-Chinese dishes in case children or other individuals aren't into Chinese flavorings. The food was fresh and exceedingly well prepared. The feel of the restaurant is definitely more upscale that we've usually experienced, and the prices are quite reasonable. We're certainly sorry than we're not from the Nashville area, because we would very much like to return here sometime in the future.

I guess I wasn't expecting much, since we have as many Asian buffets as Starbuckses in The Nashville Metro Area. But hey, its a thing we all do. I went in and the first thing that hits you is THE STEAM. I felt like I was sitting in a sauna and sweating the whole time. The sushi selection is perfection... a la gas station quality. I don't even know why they even put sushi out there. The Egg drop soup is 40°F more than what it should be, I had to out ice cubes in mine to make it more soup temperature. Other than that, they have the usual affair. Oh, their floors are slippery, I'm assuming that's a combo of cheap slippery tiles and the steam giving the whole floor a glisten. Be careful where you walk. You might slip or step on a shrimp.

I went to this place for Sushi. they don't have much collection of sushi but it's OK. I tried two entre on buffet other sushi. It's not good. Food is dry. I went to this restaurant when I was travelling from Tallahassee, FL to Detroit. I am never gonna go back to this restaurant.

My wife and I are chinese buffet afficionados and we have tried most in the Nashville area. Blue Sky constantly ranks above the others with their consistent high quality of food, great options for vegetarians, their hibachi grill where you can get what you don't find on the buffet and friendly, accommodating service.

I thought the food was pretty fresh and tastey. My familiy and I enjoyed the sesame chicken, the sweet and sour chicken, and the beef and brocolli. Good experience and will go back for more.

This place has gone horribly down hill. I haven't been in a couple months and they have made some bad changes. The first thing I noticed was that every patron in the restaurant looked like they had some sort of cognitive defect. Every member of the family of the table to the immediate right of us was wearing at least one item of camo. Anyway, the food was terrible. I started with the usual buffet fare. The Lo Mein was overcooked and very starchy, the Crab Rangoons were probably swept up off of the floor, and I had some Buttered Shrimp that was more like Butt Shrimp. I didn't take more than a bite of any of it. I tried the salad bar. The lettuce was down to about the last 4 leaves. The croutons and bacon bits were stale. The ranch tasted like it had enough MSG to give Mao Zedong a headache. I didn't hardly touch it. I went to the Hibachi grill with higher hopes. First of all, the guy behind the grill was Mexican, he wasn't even Chinese! Second, he acted like his dog just died and sat behind the grill in his pink Aeropostale shirt and stirred up the noodles with his head down. I ordered my dish "spicy" and it didn't even recieve flavor, much less any spice. Anyway, I ended up spitting it out on my plate. My wife thought I was being overdramatic, which I was, because the food all tasted like sweaty balls. I left hungrier than when I arrived.

This place varies greatly on what they have at the buffet. Although it tastes good, some days the items we like are just not there or a very small amount left in the trays. There were quite a few way overweight customers who loaded plate after plate, so we feel it is much more about quantity than quality. We rarely go there anymore. My wife said the woman's restroom is always a disaster, unclean.

Ate here for lunch. The bottom line is I feel an obligation to review when the food makes me sick. You might have a different experience, but do you want to chance it? Some of the food didn't look super fresh and I didn't see staff changing out old dishes often. I could kick myself because I should have known better, but I was hungry and went for it. $7.25 for lunch was not bad, but I paid a hefty price that night when my lunch came back up. I'm guessing it was one of the seafood items. When I first left the restaurant and was wonderfully ignorant of my vomitous fate, I would have probably awarded Blue Sky 2 or 3 stars at best. But knowing what I know now, "Eek! Methinks not" is my sentiment exactly. I won't be back.

2.5 Stars. Sunday at 3:30, lunch price @ 7.25 each---Less than ok. I'm not a fan of buffets but appeased my elderly mom. Here's the scoop. Trust me. Stayed away from the carbs so no rice or noodles for me. The ONLY decent part of the meal was the whole plain shrimp in the shell, the salted shrimp and long green beans. We were there for over an hour and the same sad single piece of pizza was sitting under the heaters as well as many of the other food items. This is what I wouldn't put in my mouth based on the unappetizing appearance: sushi, ham sitting in water, lasagna, salad, plain mussels, various overcooked Chinese dishes, fake crab, and the array of desserts. This is what I regrettably put on my plate and tried: teriyaki chicken---all dark meat and dry, made-to-order shrimp hibachi---very little selection of vegetables with no choice of sauce; chose onions and mushrooms and asked for garlic; I simply could not eat the finished product; shrimp was small with not a hint of garlic in the sauce. Yuk. Baked mussels---not tasty, mushroom soup---too salty with little flavor, and finally beef and broccoli---over breaded oily beef with mushy broccoli. The kitchen put out the crab for dinner which you can add for a total of 14.99 for dinner versus 9.50 I think. I saw about 8 puny crab legs that I would not buy at the market at any price. I did select this buffet based on the three 5 star Yelp reviews. No oysters, no wonderful surprises, nothing outstanding here. Maybe there is no such thing as a 5 star Chinese buffet. Okay, maybe for 7.25 it isn't too bad if you just want to fill your stomach, but no way worthy of 5 stars, no way, no way, no way.

I've been here several times with my boyfriend, and it's always a nice experience. The service is as you would expect at a buffet restaurant - waiters take your plates when you're done and sometimes refill your drink. The food is always tasty. We always go straight to the sushi. My boyfriend loves ordering from the hibachi, but I'm satisfied with everything else. If you want sophisticated and delectable dishes, obviously this is not where you would go. But if you want to fill your stomach, satisfy your taste buds, and not burn a hole in your wallet, good news! They're open late, too!!

Second year to eat Christmas lunch here. There is a huge selection of food and all that I had was pretty good. It is impossible to find extremely fresh food at any buffet and this one is no exception. Anyone wanting that should go to a fine restaurant and prepare to pay double. For the price the Blue Sky is a very acceptable place to get good food at a reasonable price.

I frankly love unhealthy Asian food and this is the place to get it! They have everything here.

Wow! What a wonderful surprise! We are visiting from out of town & happened on this. I like Chinese but most buffets are just clones of each other. My husband is so-so on it. We both were really impressed! Lots of seafood (oysters on the half shell, mussels, several types of shrimp), sushi, lots of variety including dishes I had not seen at a buffet. The atmosphere was calm and pleasant. I wish there was a Blue Sky near where we live.
