Great time here! This was the final stop before heading back to Chicago after staying the weekend for a friend's wedding. His family was kind enough to have the restaurant opened as a favor to us before it actually opened. Our waiter was extremely patient with our party of 11--then again we were the only people in the restaurant so he was able to be attentive to us. The brunch is really good. I loved the crab cake Benedict and cheese grits. YUM! My friends also raved about the omelette, shrimp & grits, and burger, all from the lunch menu. The food option of the hour was the DELICIOUS bread and strawberry butter. Words wouldn't do it justice. Just try it for yourself. This place was a great end to a fantastic weekend. I certainly recommend this place for brunch.

Worst steak ever. They tried twice and couldn't cook the strip medium rare. Don't bother coming here. The buffalo salad was the best part of the meal. The calamari app was below average.

Decided to give it another try to make sure the first time was not a fluke. It was not. People remembered me by name and what i ordered before. Got the prime rib this time and it was on point. Wife got the ribeye and it was cooked perfectly. For those that may have had a lousy experience before, the new GM is on top of everything and will make 100% certain that you leave satisfied.

My group of about 30 held an event here in the private room. The room itself is lovely and adjoins the patio. We ordered from a set menu, but when I asked for a vegetarian option I was accommodated. Our service was not the speediest, but that fit with our program for the evening. Many in our group chose prime rib or a spicy shrimp. Most were pleased, I think. A few thought the shrimp too spicy. I was served mushrooms, asparagus, smashed potatoes and broccoli and all were good. A service misstep was that our bread arrived after our entrees instead of prior to or with our salads. The cheesecake was fine, but not exceptional. Overall, it was a nice evening. I think the price reserves this for a special occasion, but the food may not live up to the price or the event.

My intent when providing reviews is never to bash or give a negative rating to a restaurant or venue. I prefer having pleasant experiences versus unpleasant ones. With that being said, my experience at this particular Mesquite Chop House was beyond terrible. We came to celebrate Father's Day with hopes of it being a memorable occasion. This was memorable but for all the wrong reasons. We had reservations for 12:30 for a party of 7 (which is not a big party) for brunch. There were only 3 other tables for brunch there of guests. The restaurant was practically empty yet it took 1 hour and 22 minutes for us to get our food. Honestly the brunch menu was very limited and didn't have much of a selection. When the food arrived the orders were wrong, food was cold, egg omelets were overcooked, the pancakes were burnt on the bottom, and the breakfast potatoes tasted old. We had to reorder 2 of the 4 omelets and the second order was wrong again. We complained to the manager about the service and the food and he offered to take off $30 of the total order however he ended up not taking it off when the order was split. The straw that broke the camel's back was when I went to the restroom and saw roaches on the ceiling. I knew then that I had to say something to the management and post this review. The silver lining in the cloud is that the Mesquite Chop House downtown on Union is very nice, had excellent service, and the food was incredible (see my review for that location). This location gives the Mesquite brand a bad scar and I will never return here.

I've stopped in here a few times recently as a patron. The food is always supreme, and cooked to perfection. Farm to table fresh vegetables are hard to beat and worth a visit. My wife loves the chicken. Their mash potatoes are awesome as well. I enjoy having the Grilled Cesar Salad which is different, and unique. The atmosphere is good, the food is really good, although overpriced. It's good spot for special occasions but bring a fat wallet.

Very underwhelmed. Went for a business meal. Scotch was good, hard to screw that up. Bread was Costco. Butter was too weird looking to try. Lettuce wedge must have been whacked from a very small lettuce. Tasted OK, but pretty small. Steak was a little undercooked, but only OK. Pretty tough for a high end steak joint. Creamed spinach was all mush - all cream, little spinach. Choice of desserts was completely unimaginative - the best from Costco. Good point, they had a clearance on some of their pricier wines, so we got a good bottle of wine at a reasonable price. Service was good, but a bit disjointed. Not good enough to justify the premium prices.

This is a white table cloth type of place. Quite and romantic and very expensive. I had a perfectly grilled steak served at the exact temperature that I ordered. My husband found his meal to be served cold and lacking seasoning.

The restaurant is really nice. The food is good and they have a great selection of drinks. This is certainly a place you would go for a nice evening out.

A lot of guys at the office rave about the food here. There is a great bar, and in the Collierville/Germantown no man down zone, that is a rare find. The service is over the top friendly, although a bit slow on food delivery. Started with the BBQ Fried Oysters, just ok. Then on to a wedge, again ok. But the Ribeye delivers. Great stuff. The creamed spinach surprised me, as in it was fresh. Now the not fun news... The bride's filet was terrible. Strange taste. Enough that you had to wonder if the meat was good or not. The management took care of the issue and again everything turned out ok. The bottom line - the bar is 4 stars, servers are 5 stars, but the kitchen for me is 1 at best. I'll give them another shot, but I expect a LOT better.

I hesitate to write reviews when I was part of a big group, but this was such a bad experience that I feel justified. I went to a meeting here, and there were probably about forty of us. We had a limited menu to choose from ( as is typical at these kind of events), so usually things go pretty smoothly. There were SO many ways this evening went wrong it's easier to just list them: 1. It took forever for anyone to take our drink orders 2. The staff was so disorganized that when they returned with drinks they had to stand behind everyone and say "Beer? Wine? Who ordered what here?" 3. Some people had to ask THREE times before they finally got their drinks. 4. Requests for (sweetener, drinks, bread) were made by multiple people multiple times. Each time the servers would say "OK, be right back with that," but it would NEVER materialize 5. Salad course and main course service went the same way with servers just guessing who ordered what 6. I had asked for my dessert to go and they put ice cream with the cake in a styrofoam box. (I realized the ice cream was there once I got home and saw it had leaked out in the passenger seat of my RENTAL car!) I have to say my steak was very good, and cooked perfectly, but that's the only good thing I have to say about that night. From what I've heard, service for smaller parties isn't much better here. If you're not prepared for this kind of event, don't host them!

As a frequent diner of Mesquite Chop House, Germantown, we had not been in a while. I promise I will not wait a month again. We had one of the best steaks we have ever had at Mesquite. I would say not only there but many places in Memphis. We had a new server, Alyssa. Alyssa, was a delight to have take care of us and that she did. Mesquite never disappoints with the quality of the food or the service. Drew is a conscientious manager that wants to be sure his guest get what they expect. Steaks are expensive now and the experience at Mesquite makes the cost a bit more palatable. You should make a trip to Germantown and dine with them.

The ambiance of the Mesquite Chop House was outstanding, but the menu left quite a bit to be desired. The steaks were good, but lacked flavor. The menu as a whole left quite a bit to be desired. Most sides were bland. Where are the rich sides such as truffle mac-n-cheese?! Give it a try, but be prepared for a B- steakhouse experience.

I wouldn't take my dead dog to - who I loved with all heart and miss terribly... this place...I was insulted.. this dive is for pseudo rich dicks who think they are something they're not... yes. I screwed up with my dress and I am really sorry for messing up your evenings with jeans and a Steelers shirt... but I didn't need to be stared at by rich bitch old men... Sorry... I'm honest to a fault. I drank my ONE beer and left you to your high life of drunk men and women at the bar who were there because they had good clothes on... My bad

Everything was great. Good food and good service. Wasn't going to come based on reviews, but I think only people with bad experiences are posting. We really enjoyed everything.

Have been here several times and have never had a problem with the service (problem mentioned in several prior posts). Nice feel to the place, and certainly a welcome outpost in Germantown, which doesn't have many upscale dining experiences. On to the food. Have had several different steaks here, and all were very good. I've never been particularly super impressed with the side items here, though. Again, we've never had an issue with service the three or four times we've been here. And, it's been generally busy when we've arrived in the past. Overall, you're paying full-on steakhouse prices for an experience that's good to very good, not great. Don't go there, at least at this point, expecting a similar experience to a Folk's Folly, Capital Grille, etc., where the service, decor, etc. are more polished. In other words, I'd probably take an important client somewhere else, or celebrate that super-special occasion somewhere else. As for being a great place to get a good meal with family or friends when you don't want to venture too far from the reservation, I think this is a good, solid spot. Bar area is a nice place to eat on football weekends as well.

Came today for brunch since we had a party of 13 and needed a last minute spot. My wife and I had been here before and were underwhelmed (see prior review). We had a 12:15 reservation and were one of three tables in the restaurant. We were all seated and ordered around 12:30. Our food began arriving around 1:15 and continued to arrive until 1:50. We had to continue to remind the staff of items we'd ordered/requested but not received. What we did receive was flavorful, but often cold as if it had been in the window of the kitchen for awhile. We desperately want to like this place since its local and close, but this is strike #2. Not sure what they would have done if more than three tables had shown up since it seemed the 20 folks in the restaurant taxed them beyond their abilities.

Very expensive for what you get. Prices were higher than Flemings or Ruth's Chris or Folk's Folly. Not enough value for us to return.

I had the worst restaurant experience ever. My company went to lunch here for their burger bar. We arrived at 11:30. By 1:10 we still had not received our food. The manager was unresponsive. People had to leave before getting there food. The burgers that were served were cold and incorrect. I am told by the owner that the night time service is better. It could not be much worse.

Knowing how much I was going to be paying for this meal and that it was supposed to be a tasty little venue may have caused me to unfairly set the bar a little too high for this place. Unfair or not, I did not particularly enjoy this place. But let's start with the good. If you order a salad, you should expect them to bring you half the garden and you should cry because somewhere there is a little bunny rabbit who won't eat for a week because of you. Mine completely filled up my plate and was stacked a good four inches high at least. All of the portions of their dishes were pretty decent in size, as a matter of fact. They also had some pretty innovative dishes to serve. We were given some pretty unique strawberry butter for our rolls. It was actually pretty good! My wife had the chicken ravioli, which she liked. For the dessert lover, they had a piece of chocolate cake that, we were told, included one entire Hershey's chocolate bar PER PIECE OF CAKE. How much more chocolate could you need? They also had a giant piece of cheesecake that two adults split and still had to take home. Now for the reasons I rated this so low. First, my steak wasn't cooked very well. It was charred and the meat just didn't taste good after that. They pride themselves on giving you the finest cuts of meat possible, but it doesn't matter what cut of meat you get if it isn't cooked properly. Now, I know some people might object to this criticism on the grounds that charring the meat is a certain style of steak cooking. Two things about that: (1) it still tastes like crap and (2) usually this is communicated to the customer in advance somehow. It was not communicated to me. Another person at our table got a ribeye steak and complained because of how much fat was on it. Mine had a decent amount on it as well, but not enough to complain about. My wife liked her chicken ravioli, but she didn't love it. Nor did any of the other four people at the table who got the same thing. That seemed to be a common theme: sounds and looks amazing and then you just get "Ehh." I normally don't complain about ambiance or service unless it is just atrocious, but in this case I will say that both were certainly lacking. Our friends got engaged at the table the night we ate here and our waiter never offered to do anything special. You'd think the manager could have comped a piece of cake. Must be some expensive chocolate bars they're throwing in those cakes. In all actuality, I don't think our waiter even knew because he spent the majority of his time somewhere else. Here's the bottom line: if you charge a hefty price for your food and ambiance, you better deliver. This place did not and had me feeling like I wasted $40/person on food. I would honestly have preferred Texas Roadhouse.

I have been a couple of times and enjoyed the food. This past experience was on a Monday and we were the only table in the restaurant except for the 2 bar patrons. Our food took and hour and a half to come out and we had to go find a hostess to ask about it. Our server went missing for long periods of time. The creamy horseradish sauce my mom asked for was like water. The shrimp cocktail was chewy. The steak was overcooked. The only thing that was good was the white chocolate creme brûlée. So disappointed.

Visited here for drinks. We went to the bar, and we might have had snacks there ... Except there was no bar menu. When we did see the menu it was the main one... The people next to us were eati g burgers. .... What menu did they get??? Drinks were ok but $$&. When I get a martini from a steakhouse I expect fancy stuffed olives... Which they did not serve. Would be great if they published a bar menu and happy hour. Shane since they were slow on a Saturday night!

Really disappointed - bartender was good however steak was barely average. Longhorn had better steak than the one I had here. Location in Southhaven was much better (food)

I'm glad to have such a nice restaurant close to my house. In the same building that was The Equestrian, it has ample parking. Service was great and attentive. Bartender was fun and knowledgeable. It has a very good wine list. My only complaint is that it's a chop house and they didn't have lamb chops. I had the duck which was very good but the mashed potatoes were nothing special. One of my colleagues had the brick chicken and the other had the 12 oz. filet. The filet was huge, I'm sure it was more than a 12 oz. portion and cooked correctly. Prices are reasonable for a chop house and the sides were awesome. Sauteed mushrooms and creamed spinach were both very tasty. I hope they get the message and put some lamb chops on the menu.

Decided to Come here because I pass by it everyday on the way to work. I wish I hadn't. The steak was crap. Wasn't cooked the way I wanted and had no flavor , the service was bad and slow. Would rate it 0 stars if I could

We just visited this lovely restaurant for a second time Monday night. We were not disappointed. We started off with Calamari and the Scallops. The calamari were very tasty and came with a great dipping sauce. The scallops were cooker perfectly and tasted great. The boss and I had the veal chop with gnocchi. The entire table was thoroughly impressed with the veal. I was tender, flavorful and cooked to perfection. The sauce/reduction on top was a tad bit too salty but had a great flavor going on under the salt. My husband had the Prime Rib. It was a bit over cooked but he enjoyed it. The mashed potatoes tasted great too. The other two at the table had a filet and had no complaints about them. I had the scallops in Parmesan risotto last time and was not impressed. I don't know if the flavors just didn't work for me or if it wasn't done right. Someone else had the BBQ Shrimp and enjoyed them. And the Rib eye went over very well with another part of our party. The bartender needs some polish but he was friendly and got us what we needed for the most part. There is a great selection of wines and full bar. The rest of the staff was incredibly nice and very helpful.

Very good menu! Steraks, chops, and Prime Rib. These is pasta etc for non carnivores. I had a small Prime Rib (10oz) and my wife had a small fillet (6oz). Both were cooked perfectly. Garlic mashed was offered w/each. The list of sides is pretty good as well (broccolini isn't easy to find). Lots of salads too. Good bar setup to wait in or just hang at. Servers were also nice and very efficient.

Wife and I last visited a week ago. We live close and enjoy this as our night out when we want a quality meal with good service and nice atmosphere. It generally delivers on all of the above. I had the filet which was cooked as requested and taste was great. Wife had an interesting salmon dish that was really quite good. Mashed potatoes are flavorful but this night as in nights past they could be a bit warmer. Broccoli was cooked just right and flavorful. Wine selection is good and moderately priced for what it is. We enjoyed a bottle of Simi Cabernet. We will be back and would encourage others to give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

Last Wednesday we had a most un-pleasant visit to this restaurant. First, it took a long time to get our cocktails. Three in our party got martinis and not only were they "short" but they all seemed watered down. The oyster appetizers were outstanding. So we still had hope for our dinner. However, my wife's duck was tough and way over cooked. One our friends got a pizza and she was only able to eat one slice it was so bad. The other two diners commented that their dinners were just ok. We won't be back.

The best steakhouse I have ever been to in my life. I was blown away by the Prime cuts of meat, and the service was very genuine . I loved the posh decorative layout of this restaurant, and will be telling all my friends about the fantastic time I had at the Mesquite Chop House Germantown. You folks have to go check this place out.

Had the rack of lamb it was excellent! Also the duck was excellent as well. New york cheese cake was a great finish. The staff did a great job. Ate out on the back deck by their covered garden and a view of the peacocks and chickens.

The steaks are advertised as prime they are not. The ribeye was tough and tasteless. The service was lackluster and the greeter at the front door seemed inconvenienced to seat us. One person is our party obviously contract food poisoning as they were quite sick through the night after the dinner. Overpriced and an overall disaster! I would not recommend.
