My family had a great experience here, on a hot summer night. All of Gatlinburg can be swamped in the hot season, so we played in the park during the day, and strolled the streets at night.** I do not usually seek out name brand shops, but I am a fan of this brand, and their environmental practices, lack of GMOs* and community services. Plus, my friends kept talking the place up. We sought this shop out. I had a flavorful, coffee smoothie, that was far better then any starbuckesque offering. It tasted more...like real ingredients. I think I got the frozen caramel macchiato. My husband got a similar drink (a chocolate shake with a shot o' joe) and my in-laws both got mix-ins. (Ice cream with extra toppings mixed in.) We all enjoyed our selections. A lot. The staff was young and polite. It might seem funny, but my favorite thing about the shop was the laminated menues at the begining of the line area. There was no wait, but I liked being able to hold it in my hands instead of looking up at the menu on the wall. I think this is probably nice for folks with visual impairments. I still crave these coffee shakes in the winter, and now it is really easy to sneak in and grab one on the drive home. *Why do I prefer this brand?: 80% of Ben & Jerry's ingredients are already non-GMO and 22 of the flavors are fully non-GMO. They have committed to sourcing all non-GMO ingredients for all their products by the end of 2013. (I learned this from the shop's owner, Julie. You can also find this on the interwebs.) **The best way to visit this shop is while already walking the G'burg strip. I would suggest the Tanger outlet location for anyone wanting to just run in for a quick fix. Of course there is still handicapped parking available closer to the Gatlinburg shop, for those needing it!

I can't believe I'd ever review Ben & Jerry's negatively. Let me start out by saying that I absolutely love their ice cream. Upon booking our trip to the Smoky's, me and my kids learned there was a shop in downtown Gatlinburg. We were so excited and planned to go here everyday. What a HUGE letdown. We found it located in the middle of the main strip and walked inside to find nothing but a shop with ice cream. No tables or anything. The ice cream was $5 for the smallest scoop in the world served in a cup!! Seriously? We walked out and went across to the Kilwin's for an amazing ice cream treat. If you want a better vacation ice cream visit, avoid this place and go to Kilwin's. You get a huge scoop in a homemade waffle cone or dish for $5. Still not cheap, but a better deal that this place. You can tell which place is better just by looking at the crowd. Nobody was ever in this place and Kilwin's was always packed. No, I don't work for Kilwin's.............I'm just a fan.

Ice cream was great and the server was more than helpful and cheery! Disagree totally with the first reviewers comments. I tried the Late Night Snack. It was good but not super chocolate flavored. Don't worry about the potato chips in it, they aren't bad at all.

First time going to a Ben & Jerrys store. It was very packed and that's a given because it's located in a major tourist location and it was Labor Day weekend. Even with that the wait was wasn't long because the employees worked fast and were able to get the customers through the line quickly. I wish the flavored had a description next to it especially since Ben and Jerrys uses crazy names but the employees answered any questions we had and were a lot more friendly than other restaurants we went too during peak times.

I'm normally a LOVER of Ben & Jerry's, but the service here really threw me off. The gal seemed annoyed that I asked to sample some flavors (which have no descriptions provided on the board), then even more annoyed that I didn't end up getting a flavor that I'd sampled. She didn't even bother asking if I wanted my brownie warmed up for my sundae, and carelessly pointed to a board behind her when I asked what the toppings were. The actual ice cream was delicious, but the service left a lot to be desired.

Ben & Jerry's for us means good icecream with an even better story. Yes, it's price. But a good story and perfect icecream is allowed to do so. Then why not 5 stars if we're so enthoustiastic? Well, I don't like businesses selling food and drinks and not offering seating and restrooms. Not even in tourist locations. And excuse any grammar and spelling mistakes. English is not my first language. And if that isn't bad enough my Apple device keeps trying to change English words into 'proper Dutch'. Yes, you've guessed right, my first language.

The staff was knowledgeable and knew what was in all of the flavors. Of course they have free samples. Ice Cream was delicious.

I am rating this a 2 star not because of the food / ice cream. Ben & Jerry's is wonderful as far as that, however, this particular Ben & Jerry's has a server who seemed rather put out when we asked for nut free serving for my husband. Having nut-free ice cream is one thing, but it has to be served with nut-free utensils and from a carton which has not had utensils in a nutty icecream. They all do it rather well, however, this one server was not friendly and appeared very put out through the whole ordeal. The server who took my order was friendly, however, the one who took care of my husband's order forgot the term, "Service with a smile".
