Okay, first let me say I do not know what led this location down the rocky road described in the previous reviews. However, after visiting this place several times within the past year, I can honestly say they have improved greatly. That being said, as they are a chain restaurant you expect consistency. Overall the food is good and consistently hot and fresh. I give them five stars because they are one of the best Captain D's I have been to (don't ask me about the worst). First and foremost the restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful (well it has been at least 3 years since the last review). They are prompt and the food comes to you hot. In fact something new I have noticed is that occasionally the staff will bring the food to you instead of paging you to come to the counter to get it. As for the food, for what it is, it is good and the selection is varied with plenty of choices. What more can you ask for from, albeit in this case locally owned, mega chain restaurant.

Meh. Food is not bad for fast food. But don't ask for any substitutions on anything. Or a salad today. Or ice tea or tartar sauce. They don't seem to understand that customers expect you to have everything that's on your menu and that you need to be flexible and give us what we want.

I went to Captain D's last night on Mallory Lane in Cool Springs Franklin TN area - ordered one of their $4.99 meals. The young lady showed me the meal when she bought it out and I asked her what happened to the size of the fish? She was very polite and said that it the size now. Fish sticks are about the same size (and more flavorful). It certainly looked very different from the glossy flyer I walked into the store with. You used to be able to get a meal with nice size pieces of fish but it appears that while prices have only gone up a little, the size of the fish has been reduced from a proper fish filet size to the size of a fish stick. Service was quick and friendly. If this is the ongoing trend with Captain D's, I think I may have just purchased my last meal there. Very disappointing.

I try not to eat fast food but I do occasionally crave some fried fish and when I do, I head over to Captain D's. This location is clean and the employees are attentive and friendly. If you want some fast food fried fish, go here.

Usually a great place but slipping lately. Fish not as fresh or as good on portions. Leaking a/c and out of coke. Fish w/o a coke is not very good. Had plastic in my food and girl at counter when I showed her just shrugged her shoulders and said "oh well" ??? Typically a great place but sliding downward over the last month or two. Shrimp on picture doesn't even come close to matching what was given to me. 1/2 the size... Disappointing Shape up or "ship" out mates

Absolutely disgusting food. When arriving from KC, I attempted to make my typical pilgrimage to Sake for some sushi with the goal of having Goten for dinner. After finding out the sushi joint was closed till 5PM I absolutely need sustenance before going back to the hotel. Horrible HORRIBLE choice on my part. I ordered the #8 which was a fried piece of fish with a chicken strip. for sides I had hush puppies & mac and cheese. The fish had a horrible taste. The batter as well as the fish were helpless. Also, it was baptised in frying oil. A Church's Chicken thigh would have oozed in envy of how much oil covered this thing. The chicken strip was the equivalent of a frozen chicken strip you find at the supermarket in a bag. Disgusting. The mac and cheese tasted very old and it had a very strange odor. I did not enjoy it at all. However I will say the hush puppies were good. It was the only thing that came in the meal that I finished. I'll never order Captain D's anywhere ever again.
