I found this little place while traveling home. I knew this area had good fish. The salad bar was so fresh, the onion rings rocked the fish was delicious and not greasy and our server could not have been any sweater. I recommend going. The view is great as well.

***CASH ONLY*** This is another business that has been around for forty years or more, but the quality nowadays is shameful. We walked in just after 6:00 pm and dirty tables force us to sit in a cramped booth. Only two waitresses (both surly and cold) for the entire place, which was nowhere near full, and it still took 10 minutes to get the drinks brought out. Several minutes after the drinks were brought the lady returned to take our order. It was a simple order and shouldn't have taken but a few minutes to prepare, yet we waited 45 minutes for a hamburger with fries and a fish sandwich with onion rings. The time we were waiting on our food we observed other patrons that were in there before we arrived still hadn't received their orders, no one was eating the salad bar because it wasn't refilled, I had to get up and get drink refills and the still-surly lady didn't put ice in the cups, so we ended up with lukewarm drinks. The air conditioning wasn't working so the ice really would have hit the spot. Other patrons tried to flag down the lady with the tea pitcher but were ignored. Usually when a salad bar is replenished the workers carry the food containers back to the kitchen, or more specifically, the refrigerator, but these people just put the 1 gallon size buckets up on the bar in the heated dining area. I saw them dump lettuce, tomatoes, and eggs from them and put them on the bar counter with the other containers, where they were still at when we paid to leave. Surly waitresses and defunked air conditioning aside, the food quality was 1 star or less. Hamburger did have char grill, but the patty was so thin it was just neutralized by the lettuce and bun. The buns, by the way, shouldn't have left the kitchen, were hard and not from toasting, but from being out in the open too long. I just ate the fish by itself because the bun was hard and the tartar sauce wasn't very good, although seemed to be made in house. While we were waiting on our food to arrive there was plenty of time to watch over a dozen people get Baptized in the river. There was a jeep blocking my view, but I watched the rippling water and waves as each one was dunked. I'm not sure how often river Baptism occurs, but that was my first time experiencing it. Shortly after the Baptisms were over a barge came through and it was entertaining watching it pass through. The large windows do allow you to see everything, but could use a good cleaning. 45 minute wait time for very subpar food isn't going to cut it regardless of the view or how economically priced. The dirty tables when we walked in were STILL dirty when we left.

Me & my husband had date night last night, my catfish was good, nothing to brag about. My husband got a ribeye & fries which came out over cooked & whole meal was cold, he couldn't eat it, took home to the dog. This was our 2nd trip to river heights, needless to say we won't be back & definitely will not recommend to anyone.

Visited here after reading good reviews. Was disappointed. The salad bar was pretty good. The catfish was okay, a little heavily breaded. Potato was good. Hush puppies were peppery and heavy. My boyfriend had fried chicken. Not sure what the breading was, but it was very heavy and not good. Overall the food wasn't up to par. The view of the river was great, but I felt like everything was dirty, my feet stuck to the carpet and the bathroom was very dated & in need of a fresh coat of paint and some new carpet.

The catfish is godly. That is not an exaggeration. It's the best catfish ever. It's unbelievably good. The crust is crispy and perfectly seasoned. The baked potatoes are fluffy, creamy, and delicious. The fries are a little dry, but if you get the seasoned ones, the taste is nice. I hate the hushpuppies, but if you like peppery hushpuppies, you'd enjoy them. Good sweet tea, and decent salad bar. The first thing you do when you get your food is remove that heinous apple garnish thing. Yuck. And, for the sake of all things holy, do NOT let it touch your food.

The restaurant is dated like 1960. The catfish is great though. Good view of the river and service is good. I highly recommend if you are looking for good catfish.
