I love the burgers at Hueys..best potato skins in the biz, also a great Turkey Burger ICE cold beer and on occasion live music...We do come often here. Only thing I wish they would change is I hate eating with plastic and Styrofoam not only is it hard to use its bad for the environment ,they go through TONS of the stuff...really bad choice people

Classic hueys burger meal is the way to go. So yummy, i recommend it. Hueys is a classic rock restaurant/bar i think. I've only ate food there, but seems like a good place to bring family.

I've had some good burgers here, but normally they're dry and densely packed. I can't understand why they're often rated number one in Memphis. Maybe that says something about the competition. French fries are sometimes perfection, other times greasy and limp.

A Memphis classic. The Huey Burger wins multiple awards a year and comes with a basket of steak fries that are out of this world. They offer a full assortment of beer and sides. At certain times during the week they feature live local music which is usually a good compliment to the food. The wait staff is very laid back and typically very courteous. This is the place I bring people who are not from Memphis but want to eat at a 'local' restaurant. They serve a variety of sandwiches and the unusual 'steak on a stick'. Also, salads and the occasional wrap are offered as a special. Recommend: The Chicken-Philly with a basket of fries with Ranch Dipping sauce.

The burgers are AWFUL. I have no idea what other reviewers are thinking. Preformed frozen burgers. Really one of the worst burgers I have ever had.

Not my favorite location, but the classic burger is a classic for a reason. Bonus: grilled onions are gratis. I like the fries okay, and have never had anything terrible here. If you are in the mood for a burger & in Cordova, it's definitely on the short list.

My wife ordered the Huey Burger, she liked it, great. Onion rings were great, couldn't finish the basket..about 10 rings I ordered the Fish&Chips off the menu. Was told it was discontinued. so I got the Catfish basket. Was very OK. Would order it again Staff was friendly and helpful

When I think of Huey's, this is the location I think of. I'm not sure if it's because it was the first one I ever went to (It might have been) or if it's just the one we always end up at more than others. Not being from Memphis, Huey's was only this mystical, magical burger place that my husband constantly waxed on about. Needless to say when he brought me home for the first time years ago, this place had a lot of expectations to meet. I'm happy to say they met almost all of them. The atmosphere is fun - I only always wish they had a little more elbow room between tables. The graffiti on the walls and the toothpicks int he ceiling make it fun, and we've never had waitstaff that wasn't extremely polite. I must admit - the burgers are pretty darn good. The fries are too, but this place is all about the burgers. They even apparently have delivered the grease from the original location (by police escort, rumor has it) to each new opening to preserve the flavor. They have a new (well, to me) heart friendly menu, which for Huey's seems almost sacrilege, but it's a good advancement I think.

Great atmosphere, ok food. Went with my family on my last day in memphis. They have a unique thing where you can blow toothpicks into the ceiling with straws.

Im not so sure about them having the best burgers, but they are always tasty. The cheese fries and ambiance draw me back. Kind of divey on the inside, but kid friendly at the same time :)

Fun outdoor patio, food is consistently good.. LOVE their cheese fries... You always know what to expect Service is good as well.

Went the other night and despite my wifes burger being wrong it was exceptional. .....Its Hueys cmon. We just got a waitress that didnt pay attention enough I guess. But it wasnt bad. Dinner for 2 and 2 rounds of drink for 25 bucks. BEAT THAT! As usual once I was full I just kept wanting to eat since the food is so good....and I did. When it comes to being the best burger around Red Robin is stiff competition with their gourmet burgers however atmosphere of Hueys trumps Red Robin by far. HFTW (hueys for the win)

    - good outdoor seating, - same great onion rings - same food as other huyes - far enough from the main road to not hear loud traffic when outside - easy parking

the atmosphere is fun...waiters are very friendly and attentive and the kids menu are cheaper than most places. but we thought the food was just ok. my husband ordered a burger w/ mushrooms, bacon, onion on buttered grilled bread. it was good but not the best burger we've had. i ordered the chicken wrap and so regretted it and wished i ordered a burger instead. i mean it wasn't bad but it tasted like the ones i make at home! my chicken has more flavor that that. we also ordered the fried mushrooms. the texture was pretty gross. when you bite into it, a ton of juice gushes out and it feels as tho your munching on fried eyeballs. i'm sure it would've been better if they would've sliced the mushrooms. if we ever come back i'm sure to order a burger or maybe that tuna sandwhich i saw on the menu...but my husband didn't think it was all that great and i don't think i could get him to come back here. he said red robins is way better if you're looking for burgers.

Driving through from Chicago. Yelp recommended we stopped! I ordered the burger trio. One word AMAZING! Onion fries were great too!!! We were pleasantly surprised... A live band! 80s music! Awesome time! Great food! A Memphis gem.

Love Huey's!! We appreciate how late they stay open too, everything in Memphis that serves food closes at 9 except Huey's! And there are plenty of healthy options.

My wife and I like to come here when we want to have a really good burger and just relax. The hamburgers are excellent and the service is always outstanding. If you want a really good burger wit a lot of different options, you can't go wrong coming here. If you are checking this out because of curiosity about the restaurant, I don't think you can go wrong by checking this place out.

I posted a review of this restaurant bragging on their wings with four stars then someone replied thanking me for reviewing the restaurant which is really cool! I'm going to up them with five stars now!

Of all the Huey's locations we have visited this is our favorite. A popular spot, be sure to get there early as they stay crowded. Mary is our favorite server and our specialities include the best burgers in town with a shout-out to their salmon and veggie plate. Perfectly seasoned!!!

  • Lauren G.

The burgers are good and they have a good variety of items on their menu. Although I haven't had a lot of burgers in Memphis, I would still say that they are ok, but I am sure there are better burgers out there. The major downside is that you have to pay for side items and they were all over $1.50 extra and the burgers were already $7-10.

This was my first time visiting this location and dining in. The food was good and so was the service. We had a burger. The sweet potato fries are awesome. Only thing they could improve upon is the cleanliness of the restaurant and the utensils.

Was in Memphis on a business trip and we went here for dinner. Had a really good meal and a good time. The place was busy but we still got a table right away on a Wednesday night. I had the tuna steak and my friend had the salmon. Both of our meals were real good at a reasonable price. The tuna was cooked the way I like it and seasoned nicely. We had a pitcher of local Memphis beer on the recommendation of the waitress and really enjoyed it. Service was good and very friendly, so I will go back again when I am in Memphis again.

Can't rate the food as I have yet to even place an order despite being here 15-20 minutes thus far. Upon walking to the patio, I noticed the sign discouraging the smoking of cigars, yet cigarette smokers seemed to be present in flocks. The inside was only 40-50% full and I'm more than understanding, being in the bar business, but this is getting ridiculous. Shortly I will be exiting I do like patios that I can enjoy my cigars anyway. I respect their rules. Not upset about that, I just prefer somewhere I can eat, drink, and enjoy my cigars. Just a little more attention to the service and I will return.

We were here to ring in the new year and our table was treated to noisemakers, NYE hats and other festive accessories! What bumped up the experience was the bottle of champagne our table was treated to, as well. I am only giving four stars (even though the food is consistently delicious!) because the band was lackluster. A DJ would have been preferred.

  • Tammy P.

Overrated burgers. I've been on several different occasions & the bun always falls apart. Maybe it's the pickle juice in the "basket". It's an ok burger but not best in town. The 2 stars are for the steak fries. Not over cooked

My husband, myself and two of our friends went here to grab some food before we went out for the night. Our waitress took our drinks and appetizers and never returned. At one point my husband left to pick another friend up and still no waitress. Finally after over 20 minuets not an exaggeration we went to the bar and asked the bartender if he could take our order or find us a new server. He sent over a new server and I wish I could remember her name because she was awesome! We told her we were upset for obvious reasons and she apologized, refiled our drinks, and told the manager...who never bothered to stop by but o well. Our second server was outstanding though and is the only reason this place is getting 3 stars. As a group of ex servers my husband and our friends understand being in the weeds but this first server flat our ignored us we waved her down and said excuse me and no reaction. Here's the kicker again we are all ex servers we weren't rude in anyway so the only thing I can assume is she saw 4 people in their early to mid twenties and thought they won't tip. Well that second server made $50 on a four top. By all means go but brace yourself.

Love hueys! Best burgers in Memphis and their cheese fries are yummy too! I love their chicken kabobs as well. Service is mostly fast unless they're super swamped, which is understandable.

This is the best burger in Memphis? I feel bad for you. The burgers were dry and weak on flavor. Really disappointing given the high accolades this burger has received. We had to drown them in ketchup to choke them down. Queso dip is really thin and soupy. Decent flavor, but not impressive. The only positives I can say are that the service was good and all the staff was friendly, even on a busy night. Sweet potato waffle fries were delicious. Overall it was a really disappointing experience, and I'm frustrated that we wasted our time and money.

Huey's is okay for bar food, but the past few times my husband and I have gone, we've both said that we don't want to go back. I'm really not too picky on food, so that is saying a lot. I don't want to bash them because I know how many people love them, but I honestly believe people love Huey's more for the environment than the food. With a ceiling covered in toothpicks and a wall covered in sharpie by patrons, it is a fun place to just hang out.

  • Jesse P.

Oh Huey's... how I do love you. I moved away from Memphis over 3 years ago now, but I still have insane cravings for their wings and fries. I know it's the burgers everyone loves most here (which they are delish), but for me, Huey's wings are the best; Cooked to perfection with perfect sauce and ranch... I'd pay a lot to have some right now. So, it's no surprise on my recent Memphis visit, I hit Hueys not once, but twice. My best friend and I ate in once and I ordered a take out order the night before I left, which means I had their wings four times (as one order = 12 wings= two meals) during my visit. Crazy, yes, but worth every calorie!! Their service eating in and during pick up was good enough like I remember, the bartender was particularly sweet while I waited to pick up my order ... If they shipped, I'd update them to five stars :)

I haven't been to Huey's since I left Memphis 15 years ago. It was just as great as I remembered. The food was great and service was fast. They were able to seat our party of 9 quickly. My kids loved trying to spit toothpicks into the ceiling and writing on the walls. They still have the best burger in Memphis.

  • Christopher M.

Prices aren't great and the food is basic bar food. The inside looks like a dive, and the only fun thing is shooting toothpicks in the ceiling.

I have been eating here for years and would in the past recommend this place to all of my family and friends coming from out of town until now. I am beyond shocked to see how you treat City of Memphis employees especially Police and Fire. The ones that protect you!! All I have to say is that Karma is a SOB.

  • Katie D.

The best burger I've ever had, hands down. It's no wonder they always win the best burger in Memphis. They're all good, each is served with a variety of cheeses on different buns - my preferred one being the Texas Toast burger. Also, if you're a vegetarian or just watching your waistline, any burger on the menu can be made into a turkey, veggie, or black bean burger! They also have a menu for low fat items (even including a hamburger) so you have lots of options if you're on a diet. Their apps are great too. Great queso, though the entrée portions are so generous it's tough to make room for both unless several people are splitting an appetizer. Their chicken tenders are great, too, as are the shrimp and catfish. This is one place that does live up to the hype!

  • Brandy L.

Wonderful burgers, chicken sandwiches steak fries and beer battered onion rings. My husband ordered the burger and fries and I had the chicken and onion rings. Delicious! We sat out on the patio. Nice atmosphere. Our waitress never let our drinks run out and took very good care of all our needs. Bring a sharpie because patrons can write on the walls. We loved reading all of the graffiti. Great place to eat and grab a drink.

  • Gary H.

good beer joint. If you want food, all they have is deep fried artery choking stuff or a hamburger on a white bun. Don't get people saying they have great burgers, they're just plain burgers and everything they serve is unhealthy. If you don't care about that, help yourself.

This was my first time I've eaten at this particular Huey's location. As soon as we walked in, I thought about leaving; the place smelled dirty. Then when we sat down at the table, it was obvious that not only had their cloth tablecloths not been recently washed, but they hadn't even been wiped for crumbs. It was very noisy in there, and considering how early we were there and how empty it was, I can't imagine how loud it gets at the dinner hour. My husband and I were both so grossed out that we will never go back. Also, I get that the red and white check tablecloths are their "look", but if they aren't washing them on a daily basis, they need to invest in vinyl ones that can be easily disinfected.

This is the third or fourth Huey's that I've been to. All are great neighborhood bars. Service is always very good. The food is always very good. I am a fan of this local chain.

I love visiting Huey's when I'm back in town. My burger was excellent but the sweet potato fries were a little over done.

Been coming here for lunch off and on for a little over a decade. Huey's was introduced to me back than as the best hamburger in town, and I agreed. Huey's has some stiff competition these days, but it still serves a great burger. Recent menu additions make it worth a return visit. My personal fave: the Bleuz 57., getting its name from the bleu cheese crumbles and Heinz 57 sauce. It's topped with the obligatory lettuce and a small heap of onion straws. Nice! Another is the Sunrise burger, which has a fried egg and bacon on the patty. Brunch on a bun. One of their less recent additions is the Texas Toast burger, boasting sauteed onions and jalapenos on--you guessed it--Texas Toast. Finally, they're now offering sweet potato waffle fries. The honey-mustard dressing they serve them with makes them pretty scrumptious, but be adventurous and try them Dutch style: ask for mayo. (I'm not kidding.)

My boyfriend & I went on a Saturday night. Both the inside and the patio were packed out. This did not impact the level of service we received, though! We chose to sit on the patio, being the nice Fall night that it was. Our waitress was extremely busy, but she still made it a point to check on us often, the bartender even came out several times to check on us. Our food came out fast, fresh, and exactly how we ordered it. I had the Little Miner Trio with onion straws and homemade chipotle mayo, (think sliders, each with different toppings), and it was just the right amount of food without over stuffing myself. I have been to just about all the Huey's locations, and this is by far, my favorite!

Still one of the best burgers in Memphis. Fun atmosphere and great place to take the family as well. If you are from out of town....this is a local fav. Great selection of other items as well. Order the burger it's what they are know for. Enjoy.

I just moved into Memphis a few weeks ago, and this was the first restaurant I visited in the area. I was expecting pub food, however was pleasantly surprised! This place is great! Ive tried numerous items on the menu, and havent been dissapointed yet! As an appetizer I will typically go for the sausage/cheese plate, which is simple but delicious. The ambience of the place is laid back and casual, and the writing on the walls gives it a comfortable feel. Definitely my new favorite place to go have a beer.

I love this place and visit everytime I am in Memphis. Great bar food, atmosphere, and drinks. Be sure to get the hot wings or a burger because they are both the best in Memphis. Also buy a bottle of their burger seasoning and use at home.
