I was just driving through on my way back to Texas from the NorthEast and drove pas this place on my way to get something else, actually doughnuts from Ralph's, and on my way back to the freeway I took a chance and stopped in. Great shop! Thanks for being there. Your barrista on Saturday, the one who just graduated from TTU was great.

Nice little, local coffee shop. Nothing amazing, but nothing bad by any means. My only complaint is that it is just very small - but you can't really hold that against them in terms of coffee. In spite of the small size of the building, they do a good job at creating a nice atmosphere.

Gooood coffee!! Having sampled beans from around the world, this ain't your typical cup of joe. Smooth & well-balanced, no bitter aftertaste. My 2cents: add more Ethiopian to your house blend to brighten the after notes ;) Thank you for not compromising goodness. Pleasantly surprised and happily sipping my caffeinated booster.

We've been here a few times (live in nearby Crossville) and love it. They listen when we order and get it right! My wife's blended mochas always come out thick and very enjoyable. Great coffee with a pleasant environment!

This coffee shop is wonderful. They have great coffee. They have a wonderful atmosphere. We have our TREC meeting (land rover meeting) there each month. Everyone loves it. I like their mochas. Very welcoming. You won't regret a visit here.

What? How is it that Perk Up has no reviews? I was feeling a little lost and exhausted in the heat of summer this past week in Cookeville, TN. I come from up north, where air conditioning and ice coffee are more or less sacrosanct. I found Perk Up to be the perfect respite from the heat... This is a sweet little stand-alone cafe in the middle of a shopping plaza on the main drag in Cookeville. Characterized by comfy couches, brightly painted walls and friendly staff, Perk Up offers a nice selection of hot and frozen coffees and teas. Seems like a great place to meet with friends, spend a couple hours studying or just kick back from the summer heat. Plus they have a drive-thru! I opted for an iced latte with roasted chestnut and blackberry flavoring. So good. Recommended!

Perk Up has the finest selection of coffee in Cookeville; there are other which are quite good of course but this is the top of the heap. Their excellent product is wedded to real craftsmanship by the baristas (try the Cup of Joy or my personal favorite, the Milky Way). Customer service is always friendly and conversational and the prices are very very reasonable. Perk Up has become a favorite meet-up destination in Cookeville because of the comfortable and relaxed ambiance. If you are looking for good coffee in Cookeville start here.

I am from New York City, where there is a high-end gourmet coffee shop on every block. You can get some of the best imported coffee there is, in New York City. I know my coffee. The iced coffee I got at Perk Up might be the best I've ever had. Located in the middle of a parking lot in front of a Hobby Lobby, this small cafe doesn't have the hippest location. You might trip on a decaying tractor trailer steering wheel shaft on your way in, but, Momma always told me it's what's on the inside that matters. It's a small cozy environment that accords to all of the cafe tropes: light rock music, artsy wall decorations, and young baristas. There is a curious curtained side room with couches to sit on. If you've got the balls, close the curtain and make out with your girlfriend over your steaming cappuccinos. The baristas don't have the attitude you'll find at Poet's, and you won't have the snooty college crowd either. Unfortunately, you won't find a lot of people there period. The coffee had some great undertones to it, and terrific aftertaste. What's more, their ice cubes are made of coffee! They're coffee cubes! I'm sorry, but that's cool beans, right there. I will say, they don't offer a lot to munch on. They had, mark it, two blueberry scones to sell and that was it. So, go there on a full stomach. I sincerely hope the hipster forces of Poet's Coffee Shop won't win out in Cookeville, but I'm afraid they will. This place has integrity, and it blows Poet's out of the water when it comes to coffee. Unfortunately, there's a lot of coolness involved when it comes to coffee shops these days.

Go. Go. Go. Go. Go. Why didn't I come here sooner? Geez! Listen up guys I'm going to tell you a secret...this place is better than Poet's -- I KNOW! I know!...But you didn't hear it from me. Go. I love everything here. From the art, to the cups, to the ice cubes for the iced coffee being made of coffee, to the giraffe in the couch room, to the sweet people who work that who remember what we want after just a couple times of going in :) GO!!! :)

Friendly homey atmosphere. Great lattes. I got a blueberry latte & my mom got a peach cinnamon latte. Both sound odd but they are delicious. The peach one tasted like peach pie. Will definitely return

My husband and I stopped by Perk Up this morning and loved it! I had the Pumpkin Spice and my husband had a caramel latte. We both said they were amazing after the first sip. We agree they were both better than Starbucks and we are huge Starbucks fans.

What a great local place! It's a really small building, but the layout on the inside makes great use of the space! They advertise music on some nights (I'm from CA, so haven't seen that part yet :) They have a semi private room which would probably be great for study groups. They have a menu board with the names of repeat locals and their favorite drinks so you can see what other options are available beside your typical latte, espresso, coffee, etc. They have some baked goods, would love to see some more healthy alternatives...maybe sandwiches? Apparently three friends bought this place together...they're recent grads from TN Tech I believe. They're really nice. This place has a sweet vibe. I wish them good fortune!
