We just stopped by for lunch this week while shopping in Knoxville. We had the option of sitting outside in a New Orlean style, umbrella dotted patio or inside. Great first impression. Inside decor was a little less casual, but nevertheless very comfortable. My friend ordered the salmon special of the day. I ordered the orange salmon. We were able to switch around the sides we wanted. I got the cheese grits that were great, and fried green beans. Happily, the beans were not greasy. Our beverages were refilled promptly, and our server was well informed. It was an overall good experience. I would definitely bring my husband back for his favorite, jambalaya.

This is the pinnacle of restaurants in Cookville, a city dominated by chains and greasy fast-food spots. Fortunately, Crawdaddy's stands above them all and gives locals and out-of-towners a place to flock to for quality food. The service is excellent, as is the atmosphere and there's a few blondes that work here that would give Miss Tennessee a run for their money! As for the food, it's darn good, close to like eatin in Louisiana. We had the blackened catfish and enjoyed it. Most of the dishes we saw in the bar area were fried, but none seemed greasy. This is one of the few places in town to come for good food, service and ambiance.

Went to lunch here based on friends recommendation and glad I did. I found the staff very friendly, service was great and the food and beer selection one of the best I've found in the area. I look forward to returning soon with my wife and friends for dinner.

Great place in Cookeville. Right in the heart of college town. Cute little shops up and down the street the restaurant is on. They have inside and outside dining. We arrived around 7 p.m. with a party of 7 from out of town. We were there for a family reunion and wanted to have a special dinner while in Cookeville. And we did. Our waitress Jill who was super sweet took excellent care of us even though she was totally slammed and no busperson in sight to back her up. I was a wee disappointed she didn't know what type of oysters they were serving for the evening( she did apologize for not knowing later) but I went ahead and got them any way. 5 were fantastic. However, one was no good and I ended up spitting that one right back out into the shell. We started with a few other appetizers which were outstanding. Fried Green Tomatoes and Crab Cakes. Both were very good. Beautiful presentation. We ordered the following dishes.. Shrimp Cocktail, Shrimp and Grits, Shrimp Bisque ( absolutely delicious) Beef and also Vegetarian Hougie's. All were a huge hit. The Crab cakes were not as hot as I'd like them to have been but the sauce served with it made up for it. The restaurant decorations were all New Orleans theme and very nice. I didn't give them 5 stars because I called to make reservations and was informed by Asia "they don't take reservations, first come basis only " however while we were eating the staff set up a large table and about half hour later a group came in and sat down at the set up table. So I guess some of those rules don't apply to all customers. To me that's just not cool. But when were back in Cookeville we'll eat there again.

We were greeted and seated immediately, chose the 2nd floor roof covered balcony which is very quaint. Put in our drink order and it was delivered within minutes. The menu is very diverse, you will not have a problem satisfying anyone'sh palate. We started off with the goat cheese/ pesto dip with fresh baguettes - very delicious ! I ordered the Shrimp and Scallops Creole and my French honey ordered the Cajun Shrimp Penne. Happy to report both plates were excellent! We will be back

Great food first time in town looking for a place decently crowded and great atmosphere we found it. If I lived here I'd eat here often. Love to come back but I dont but ill pass on the news for others!

Went with a group of friends on Saturday night. None of us had been before but had heard good things so we piled in the car and drove from Knoxville. We followed fellow yelper reviews and had the goat cheese pesto dip and shrimp dip, both were excellent. We also ordered a couple dozen raw oysters which were super fresh! Our dinners were superb as well. We left fat and happy and despite the reviews I read, the prices were a great value. They are tuning out some quality food in great portions! We will definitely be back.

There weren't an overwhelming amount of enticing lunch options between Nashville and Gatlinburg, but Crawdaddy's sounded like a nice pit stop. This place had a slight French Quarter feel to it. It also seemed like a popular lunch spot, located right in the heart of Cookeville's historic downtown. Our waitress was friendly and took good care of us. She checked on us often and made sure we had everything we needed. I started with a cup of their Gulf Shrimp Bisque to warm up my insides. It took quite a bit longer to come out than you'd expect for soup. Nonetheless, the bisque was creamy and very tasty. I would have liked to find a few actual shrimp in there though. For my entree, I went with the Fried Crawfish Po Boy, which comes topped with remoulade. I subbed in fries for the kettle chips. Our entrees took a while to come out, too. They must have a rather small kitchen. I'm really glad I got fries instead of chips, because these were fantastic. They were heavily seasoned and packed with flavor. My po boy was awesome as well. The fried crawfish were delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed the tempura batter. The mild remoulade added just the right amount of spice, and the crunchy french bread was the perfect vehicle. I was pretty stuffed, but my wife wanted Creme Brulee for dessert, so I indulged as well. It had a hard, sugary crust on top, with gooey pudding underneath. The creme brulee was a great palate cleanser and a nice end to a nice meal.

Will never be back...after being seated near the waitress station it still took 15 min to get a drink order. Then over 30 mins for the appetizers. As we were about to leave, 2.5 hrs after being seated, our meals finally showed up. To top that, the tuna was well done not rare, veggies were cold, and garlic potatoes could have kept our drinks cold if we had any. When we asked to speak to manager, they said one was behind the bar and the other couldn't leave the kitchen. Shortly one showed up but he was very defensive, but offered to reheat our meals. I asked how do you reheat something overcooked. He removed the meals from our ticket and left a bill for drinks and apps. Tried to pay with credit card but didnt get anyone to recognize us for 5 minutes. Luckily we had cash, threw it on the table, and stormed out

A co-worker and I tried this place and from the reviews it looked promising. But is was pretty disappointing. I tried the District Medallions at the waitress' suggestion. I was not impressed I ordered them cooked medium and that was correct but the outsides of the meat was charred. Like they cooked it on a grill that was too hot. My co-worker ordered the Sea Bass and it was awful. It was so bad she asked me to try it to see if it was in fact sea bass. The piece of fish was dry and tough. The highlight of the diner was the waitress, Sabrina. She did a good job suggesting things and answering questions. The place wasn't very busy bit it took a long time to get our order. Next time we are in the area we will most likely try someplace else.

Arrived on a nice day so we sat outside. The atmosphere was enjoyable, which is why I give 2 stars. We ordered a couple cocktails, which were nothing special. They served a local IPA in a frosted glass, which is a no-no. We had an hour to enjoy a nice lunch but didn't get our food for an hour and had to get it to go. We didn't order anything special, fried tomato BLT and bourbon chicken. Neither were overly awesome. BLT barely had 2 pieces of small bacon. Fries were nothing special. Waitress did give us 50% off chicken since my husband couldn't eat it in time restraint and had to leave. If you are in a hurry or looking for a special local joint, try somewhere else

Yum. I am surprised by the service at this location having had so many negative Cookeville experiences. The food was good, though they used what tasted like mayonnaise in their pesto which I personally find yucky. Every thing else was great!

  • Dan E.

I travel a lot and typically go off the recommendations of the locals. After taking their advice I ended up here. I never actually ate any food because of the service. It took 20 minutes to get the beer I ordered and upon receiving it noticed there was some vegetables let on the side of the glass. After having to find someone to get another beer it then took them until I asked for a manager before the girl came back to tell me the manager had left for the night. I have now wasted over 45 minutes waiting for an appetizer that got there before my beer did. I was greatly disappointed, I will not eat here when I'm in town.

  • Ridge D.

Pretty damn good! The location and atmosphere are excellent and the food was very good. The drink selection is very extensive and they do have many good vegetarian options. I would say that the place is a bit more "upscale" than I expected. It is not expensive, but it is a "nice" place.

The Yelp reviews are right. My family of seven and I were in Cookeville for a few hours on Sunday and tried Crawdaddy's on the recommendation of Yelp. It was a really pleasant experience. We ordered an array: from fried green BLTs, to shrimp po-boy, to bourbon chicken, to kid's grilled cheese. The food and presentation were well done. Service was very very friendly and helpful. The wait felt a little long, but not ridiculous. I am taking a star off though for the horrible bathrooms. My four little boys did not need to read what has been engraved on the wall in there. The bathroom is wildly disproportionate to the vibe of the rest of the place. Cleanliness is a measly 2 out of 5, but the vulgarity is a 5/5. It says a lot about a place not that it is written, but that it stays.

Excellent food and service. This is the place to go in Cookeville for good fish/seafood. The atmosphere is wonderful.

Probably the best restaurant in the area; I stopped by while in town for work. I ordered the Crab Cakes for an app and then the Shrimp & Grits (excellent). I saw multiple other dishes come out to other tables that all looked good. Also the prices were around the same that you'd see at the chain restaurants in the area so this place is a no-brainer. I'll be coming back the next time I'm in Cookeville.

Wow, this place is really good! Beautiful location and all of the employees are so friendly. I got the Cajun sampler platter and it was delicious. It includes jambalaya, crawfish étouffée, and red beans and rice. The étouffée was my favorite by far. The flavors were so rich and the rice was cooked perfectly. I definitely recommend it!

Went to Crawdaddys after Cummins Falls this past weekend, and it was fantastic. We ordered the sampler and shrimp po boy. Nice patio and great service from Nicole, can't wait to make another day trip over to Cookeville!

Great shrimp n grits... at sunset on the patio. Pesto Goat cheese app was awesome too.

Nice place. Good food. Great service with a smile. Reasonable prices. Outdoor seating in a rustic atmosphere. Ate here two days in a row. Fabulous food. Had sea bass the first night and filet with crab sauce the next. Wow! The food is very well prepared. I give it 5 stars because it is deserved.

A great looking restaurant with a fabulous patio for dining al fresco - that needs a little fine tuning. First of all- what is up with loud music in the South? Don't y'all want to be able to hear the conversation at your table? Prices are very high - so be prepared. The fried green tomatoes are superb with excellent presentation - except when you pick them up the breading falls off completely. The sauce is tasty, however, if you advertise a "Lump Crab Cream Sauce' - better have more then one lump in the batch! The fried oysters were not quite as good as the Fried Green T's - but still quite good. The farmed oysters are on the small side, and not the freshest tasting around. The remoulade needs work- and some kick. On to entrees: A very respectable rack of lamb for $24.00, decent garlic spiced shrimp, with a generous portion of shrimp... shrimp and grits: a bit stingy on the shrimp but good - with creamy tasting grits. But the scallops? I wish my dad had sent them back. They were way over cooked and tough, worse still, no one bothered to pull off the little inedible muscle on the side of each- a basic prep skill...c'mon. We all shared one dessert- Bread Pudding - swimming in bourbon sauce - tasty, but a bit too sweet for my taste. Parts of it seemed to be under-cooked dough. A trendy place with a great menu that does not quite live up to the high prices..but I have faith that they might improve. 'Hope to return to a better experience.

We went here for lunch and do agree that it is one of the best restaurants in the area. My wife ordered the lobster bisque and we agreed that it's the best, thoroughly creamy with sherry and small pieces of lobster - what a treat! She ordered the fried green tomatoes, which are hard to find in the area. These were very good though I found that they were sliced a bit thickly. It was an ample serving but the crab on top was a bit meager. My fried oyster po boy was OK but not quite up to what I was hoping for. But we will be back since their menu is adventurous and promising!

What a great local restaurant nestled in a quaint downtown! My mom and I sat out on the patio for dinner, entertained first by music over the speakers and eventually by a live, acoustic guitar player. We opted for shrimp cocktail to start, which was nothing special, but did have eight medium-sized shrimp. My mom and I each had the catfish topped with lump crab sauce. I had okra and creamed spinach for sides, she had broccoli and creamed spinach. Oh my goodness, that catfish was so good! It was a very large filet, very thick and seasoned just right. The sides were delicious. Seriously, what a great meal with great ambience. Take a quick drive away from the busy, chain-restaurant-laden strip off of I-40 and check out this gem!

Do not come to this establishment. The food is great however we came in with a large party (30+). We were seated within 10 minutes BUT the food took over 2 hrs! The waitress was bringing one plate at a time to a table full of children. We had to ask for bread and did not receive any for 20 minutes (and it wasn't even warm). When our food finally came, we asked to see the manager - he blamed our large party for the two hour delay! He said we were told it would take over two hours for food which was completely untrue! He was totally unaccommodating and actually rude! Several tables even left due to the wait. Unfortunately he is the owner with very poor customer service skills and I feel very sorry for the staff who work for him. Do not waste your time or dollars until a new manager/owner with more appreciation for their customers takes over!

Visited the restaurant on two separate trips. First time I tried the Cajun sampler which had jambalaya, crawfish étouffée, and red beans and rice. Winnahs! Second visit I ordered the blackened catfish with jambalaya. That was delicious too. I can't speak to the authenticity of the food, but both dishes I tried were great. Next time I visit Cookeville will definitely stop by and try a different menu item. The service was great and the atmosphere was very positive. First visit we had our meal on the 2nd floor outside deck. Second visit we ate inside. Very good eats here.

Second time here and the food was just as good as the first. I had the blackened salmon with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. This was the first piece of salmon I've had in recent memory that wasn't overcooked and the seasoning was solid without overpowering the fish. The mashed potatoes were very nice and not too garlicky but the grilled asparagus was a little stringy. I have to admit I love the catfish niblets and took a few off of my neighbor's plate. The server was prompt and attentive and the waits were acceptable for a Friday night. Do yourself a favor and if you're in the Cookeville area drop by Crawdaddy's -- I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Lived up to all the reviews. Worth the detour off 40 and in a cute down town setting. Grab the blackened catfish you can't go wrong.

This is my wife's favorite place to eat. We went tonight for her Birthday. You can't go wrong with the seared scallops.

I was in Cookeviile for two days and managed to eat at CrawDaddy's three times in that span. The shrimp dip was without question the best option on the menu. They offered outdoor seating and it was very convenient and shaded well. The prices were good, not great but for the experience it was well worth it. Now....the service: I've never seen so friendly and welcoming wait staff in my life. The lady's that waited and hosted were so friendly and I had no idea there could be so many amazing servers in one restaurant until I experienced this. I'll definitely make sure to come back here any time I'm within a thirty mile radius of CrawDaddy's and am excited for the opportunity to sit down and enjoy great tasting food and amazing service. I tend to be critical when it comes to service industry places so for this to get all five stars and such a lengthy review does not serve it justice Great job CrawDaddys!!!

Stopped here between Nashville and Knoxville. Great stop, nice inside bar with big tvs as well as a nice outdoor seating area. Prices were reasonable and the food was delicious! Had the bourbon glazed chicken with mashed potatoes and grilled green beans. It was all great especially the green beans! Highly recommend the stop off of the highway!

I heard this is the best place to eat in Cookville and can see why. Excellent cajun/creole cooking. Great service and a wide selection of food. The family chose from the pasta, seafood, and meat portions of the menu. Generous portions. The side items also matched the creole/cajun theme. Restaurant is located in the old downtown area and is nice to walk around. We had a great time and would gladly come back.

The food was absolutely awesome. Had the catfish & shrimp, was absolutely delicious. Sides were the fried okra & asparagus, perfect flavor & texture. Cooked to perfection. Nothing was a disappointment. The atmosphere was unique, inviting, intimate & relaxing. A wonderful place to eat! Its a cozy indoor/outdoor dining experience!

Came for lunch. My party ordered the portobello sandwich, cajun pasta, and beef au jus. Each was heartily enjoyed. The sandwiches were served with kettle chips and were a good price. Service was prompt and polite. I enjoyed it, and will come back for another lunch sometime!

Excellent food & amazing service. We had crab cakes, blackened catfish & jambalaya. All fabulous! Great service from the manager, and servers. It was also 1/2 price day for draft beer! Delicious craft beer for $1.50 a glass! The patio is relaxing & comfortable. A wonderful surprise in Cookeville, TN. If we lived closer we'd eat here all the time!

My wife and I had a great dinner and amazing service here. The menu is full of one plate better than the next: your curiosity will keep your return business. Ask for Cheyenne; a great server and helps keep your conversation lively.

First visit, my son.grandson and I just finished a wonderful meal. Which included goat cheese w/ pesto sauce, shrimp& cheese grits, Cajun catfish & Louisiana hot shrimp. All dishes were excellent. The service was very good. It is a hyper active restaurant and noisy at least on the outside deck. Will dine here again on our next trip east.

My wife and I are from New Orleans and have always been disappointed by "Cajun" restaurants anywhere north of I-10. My son, a student at TTU, brought us to Crawdaddy's in Cookeville and after rolling our eyes we ordered our meals. The food was fabulous! The seasoning was spot-on. We will make it a point to return anytime we are in Cookeville. We also took a look at their Sunday Brunch menu and it looks great as well, When in Cookeville, put this on your MUST list

Don't go to eat here. Slow service , server acted annoyed with us . We spent over 2 hours waiting for our food finally just walked out. Took them 15 minutes to take drink orders 10 minutes later they brought drinks. The service is just to slow. We have eaten there before great food if you ever get it. The server was annoyed with us asking about our food. Noticed that a table of four came in 15 mins after us and they had their food. I think the server forgot to turn our order in.

My husband and I were on our way to Gatlinburg and found this place on yelp. When traveling we always skip the chain restaurants and try to find local places to try and we were definitely lucky we found Crawdaddys! The pesto goat cheese appetizer was fabulous!! We decided to share the Cajun Sampler and it was delicious! There were so many other dishes we would like to try so we may plan our return trip so that we can stop back in.

I was meeting a friend from college that I had not seen in 20+ years. She was in Hopkinsville KY and I live in Bristol TN. So we split the distance and decided to meet in Cookeville TN. I used Yelp to find a nice place to eat and catch up (talk). I had the blackened filet minion and she had the salmon. The food was delicious and the service was great. This is not a five star restaurant, but for Cookeville TN, I think it is as good as it gets. The restaurant is located in a quaint old downtown area that has a lot of unique shops. Thanks Yelp and Crawdaddys for making this special meeting enjoyable.

Where to eat in Cookville? Seems that Crawdaddy's is the consensus pick. Not what I would call fine dining, but it was nice. Good beer list and interesting wine list. First up, the Gator Bites. In a word, chewy. We liked the sauce, but I wouldn't order them again. The Shrimp & Scallops and the Blackened Salmon were both very good. The Grilled Asparagus was overcooked. Garlic Mashed was a good side. Service was good. Yes, I'd go back

Despite calling ahead and confirming they served food until two, the kitchen closes at 10. Waste of time off highway.

Wow! A great cajun place in Cookeville, TN. We stopped here to meet friends between Knoxville and Nashville. Boy were we surprised, the food was on par with our Baton Rouge travels. The inside is dated and shows wear but the food makes up for it. We had the pesto & goat cheese appetizer, the crawfish bites appetizer, the glazed salmon, and the cajun 3 combo. It was a lot of food and was all good! I highly recommend this place. Oh and the pricing was very reasonable. I wish tthey'd consider a 2nd location in Knoxville!

    (5)
  • Paul B.

Bad: 82 minutes is incredibly too long to wait to get your dinner. Worse: "We have a table for 32 that has slammed our kitchen" is a bad response and not the customer's problem. Good; Our server was a sweetheart and they ended up comping our dinners. I can't say if the food was any good because, well, one can drink many beers in 82 minutes of waiting. Many beers.

What a great place. Real home town food, great service, beautiful waitresses, and a beautiful restaurant. I wasn't sure what to expect with Cajun food in Tennessee but we were pleasantly surprised. My husband had the shrimp poboy and finished the whole thing! The chicken Alfredo was Delish and the kids meals were large and filling. I don't know what they out in the cheesy pasta but it was surprising and delicious! Not what we were expecting but they blew us away.

This is the only "New Orleans-style" restaurant in Cookeville, but it's the only one they need. I have never got anything from here that I didnt like. My favorite are the aligator bites. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, which is a plus

  • Derek C.

This is a great southern restaurant with good outdoor seating! I had the catfish nuggets and fries. It's a bit spicy, so if you like that sort of thing, stop by! Updating my review from four to five stars because I keep coming back and trying new things. The menu is quite extensive, and everything is delicious! It's also a great place for larger groups!

One of my family's favorite restaurants. We are regular visitors (not that there are many similar options in Cookeville). We always start out with the goat cheese pesto, which is to die for. Even if it is just my parents and I, it is gone in no time. There are a few menu items that I can highly recommend: (1) Soup and salad combo. They have a great Parmesan vinaigrette, and you cannot go wrong with their gumbo or shrimp bisque. (2) Shrimp Po Boy (or any of their Po Boys for that matter) (3) Any Burger Great Cookeville staple.

This is THE place to eat in Cookeville! From awesome drinks, a friendly staff and a menu to die from, you will not be sorry for choosing Crawdaddy's. Located in the historic district in Cookeville, its very reminiscent of an old Southern home. They have two floors and we have eaten on the 2nd floor where its quiet and comforting. I love their grilled shrimp ~ nicely seasoned and plentiful ~ which comes with two sides. Everyone knows everyone here and the wait staff couldn't be nicer or more attentive!

  • Jay M.

I have been here several times and I love the food. The gator bites (craw-fish I believe) are very good and we order this all the time. I have also had their salads and I think once the bass. The shelled oysters are another one of my favorites. The bar on top is more of a socializing place and the restaurant downstairs is more formal. I have hung out at the bar more than downstairs. The service at the bar is excellent and the drinks are priced right. The restaurant service really depends on who you get as your waitress. Couple of them have attitudes, but overall the waitstaff is friendly. I used to travel for my job and have eaten at literally hundreds of restaurants all over the country and some of the funnest times I have are with the service industry folks. They know how to handle people as they are dealing with people all the time. So great food and great service. So why did I give it only three stars? Let me put it this way.. I like this place a lot. But every time I go here... something happens that is completely out of control of the establishment itself, that I leave feeling a little miffed. The first time, one of the owners did not care for me, and then there was this time where the seating they gave me had rain dripping down, then when I was there with a important client, the order took very long and the people who came after us got their food before we did, and when I asked the waitress to check on the food she said OK and took her own time clearing tables before she even headed towards the kitchen. But then again, there was this time this other waitress made me hot toddy or at least Seagrams and honey for my cold. So there. Over all a very cool place. I know its the local favorite but then there are not that many restaurants in Cookeville. As a date place, I will say that its probably a good place for a second or third date. i usually prefer a quieter spot so that we can talk.

  • Kristen K.

The food here is amazing. Went with a group of 4; we all ordered different dishes, shared and raved. The outside patio is your ideal seating area, but inside it's got a fun New Orleans vibe, complete with plantation windows. Pros: great food, great atmosphere, decent prices (though definitely not cheap) Cons: The patio was slammed when we were there, but there was plenty of setting outside. Appetizer came quickly, but it felt like it took our main courses a very long time to finish. Lots of plates sent outside before we were served, and a few times it felt like our drinks were forgotten because it was so much busier out back. Tip for Crawdaddys: if you don't already, open those big beautiful windows when the weather is nice. That's how they do it in the deep south, and it might help even out your seating (and serving) needs.

We grabbed a quick lunch here while working out of town. We didn't expect anything other than regular sandwich shop fares but this place caught us off guard! I had the lunch special Tilapia which had amazing flavors completely cooked through the tender fillet. My coworker had shrimp and grits. All of us scraped our plates clean. The restaurant seemed to be quite busy for lunch, but service was quick and attentive. For a first visit I give it 4.5 stars! Highly recommended for anyone driving through town!

Ahhhhhmazing!!! We stopped in this past weekend with our kids, fairly late at night, and they were so accommodating! We recently drove from Texas to Maryland and wanted something other than fast food or a greasy pancake house so good old Yelp led the way to this local place. The service was awesome- our server (a blonde lady, very nice! Sorry I forgot her name) was so great with the kids. She kept taking our 1-year old, who is in a screeching phase right now, and walking around with him. It was so nice. We tried to keep our kids very quiet for the other diners, especially because it was later in the evening and date night time. She was such a huge help with this too! (As was the iPhone and Netflix combo) She was so polite and friendly, I was so grateful that she was welcoming even though we showed up with two young children at 9 at night!! She let us sit on the patio, which was beautifully lit with strings of lights and there were Mardi Gras beads hanging from the tree- my older son loved that! We started with the goat cheese and pesto dip appetizer, and holy cow this was fantastic! It was served with a perfect loaf of french bread (Louisana french bread?thinly sliced and just right) She brought out the kids' dinner as soon as it was ready- grilled cheese, cheesy noodles, and fries. I want that cheesy noodle recipe- it was awesome! The kids loved it! My husband and I decided it was worth it to order the food we actually wanted, not necessarily the food we had time for, but they were able to bring it out in a reasonable amount of time, which was great. I had the bleu cheese stuffed, bacon-wrapped filet with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and fried green beans. This was all incredible! The steak was absolutely perfect, the potatoes were flavored and mashed just right, and the seasoning on the green beans was awesome!! WHAT was it?? I don't know, but it was slightly spicy and had such a great flavor. My husband had the rack of lamb with mashed potatoes and cheesy grits, and he was in heaven! We were already full but thanks to Yelp, we read that the creme brûlée was amazing. As it is my favorite dessert, we had to try it! It was also perfect. Oh and my husband's Arnold Palmer was perfect too- he loves them and he was very impressed with this one! I hope we can drive to/through Tennessee again, and if we do, we will definitely stop by! I am so glad we decided to go off the beaten path a little bit, this restaurant was amazing... maybe hubby and I can take a romantic weekend away and stay in this cute town. :)

Wonderful in every way!! We had a flat tire and were stuck in town overnight. What could have been a terrible experience actually turned into a pleasant night due to a great hotel and this restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff was wonderful...so warm, friendly and accommodating. Truly made our night!!

Amazing food and wonderful atmosphere!! The crawfish étouffée and jambalaya were excellent and the goat cheese appetizer was the best.

This is my very favorite local restaurant. I've been here 5-6 times, brought different people, eaten something different every time, and everyone loves it. P.S. On your birthday, they give you free dessert! Either bourbon bread pudding or creme brulee. I can highly recommend both of these desserts. Only drawback is they don't have ginger ale, so if you want a mixed drink with ginger ale, that's not happening. Other than that, AWESOME!!!

We were in town visiting from Florida and decided to have dinner here. The service was excellent, very informative, and helpful. The food was excellent. I had the lamb and it was cooked to perfection! The shrimp bisque was also very good. A definite pleasure from beginning to end.

Had a great experience at Crawdaddy's. The food was good, especially the shrimp po'boy which is as good as any I've had anywhere. The crawfish etouffee was a bit disappointing - I've had etouffee all over the country including New Orleans and this was a little too heavily seasoned. Everything else was good though and the service alone is worth going back for. Our waitress, Autumn, was on her game. She kept our drinks filled, was attentive but not overly intrusive, and we enjoyed her great personality. She asked our names and addressed us personally throughout the meal which I thought added an additional layer of great service.

The food was really good, the server was nice and jokey, and I could actually get something off the kids menu. That's right. There are two prices beside the kids menu items, Kids 12 And Under, and Kids 13 And Over. I. Love. This. I wish more places had this, because I tend to want chicken fingers and fries. But usually you can't get that because you're too old, so you have to get an appetizer of chicken fingers, and then order some fries and it's just too much to eat on your own. So yeah! A good price, a good portion, good food. However the bathrooms are very small, it's the one person kind and right in the middle of a dining area, so the women's bathroom has a line forming right beside your table hahah. But oh well, it was very busy, and I can see why.

Great cajun food in a small town. Love the fried green tomatoes, and fried Okra. My husband and I go here from time to time with friends and always have a good time.

We used Yelp to find a good dinner in Cookeville while we were staying in town for the Muddy Roots Music Festival. We weren't disappointed. The place is nice and if it hadn't been raining it would have nice to sit outside. We sat upstairs in a nice room with good lighting. We got the pesto/goat cheese appetizer and the popcorn shrimp/crawfish app - both were good. The pulled pork gumbo was excellent. The shrimp and grits was tasty, but the presentation was a bit odd since the "sauce" seemed to be just an oil. The others liked their meals and the service was good too. A great choice in town.

Forego the chains on Interstate Drive and head to high street. There is a pretty courtyard and balcony to eat out and elegant space within. Upstairs the bar takes up 1/2 the room, which in this case works just fine....this is where you'll find the locals! The food is fabulous - try the sea bass with lemon basil sauce or the fried green BLT! The brunch menu is nothing special - my one complaint, but they have a mini-jazz band playing in the courtyard so it is still a great experience! (And unique for Cookeville where you don't generally see business owners thinking this creatively.) Staff is an A+ for friendliness and attitude, but a B for knowing the menu and being able to make recommendations. When asked what was special about the New Orleans-style French toast our server said, it is French toast New Orleans-style. (?) Then she just said it is regular French Toast. She also couldn't describe the special, which was delicious anyway (think NO-style fried green tomatoes eggs Benedict, yummmm!)

We are passing thru so I used Yelp to find a good lunch. AWESOME. I had the steak sandwich with jack cheese and onions. It was wonderful. Heather even gave us iced tea to sip while we shopped Main Street. Great place!

shrimp POBoy was divine. Shrimp cooked just right and had a nice kick. Chips accompany the meal and were tasty and crispy. Service a little slow, but friendly. Buffalo chicken sandwich got high ratings from our table!

Was recommended by the hotel concierge and he was right. The best service I have ever had and the food is simply amazing. I wan'ts expecting Cajun food in Cookeville to begin with but cajun food that is so amazing was a pleasant surprise. The staff is very courteous and friendly. Highly recommended and a must try. This restaurant should be on Food Network.

Just had brunch there. Service was good, atmosphere was very nice, they had a live jazz band, oysters on the half shell did not have very good flavor, the fried green tomatoes with a lump crab sauce were very good, Crawfish Po boy was full of flavor and loaded with crawfish.

The King of Wings... I know, it's an appetizer here, but this is why we came. Directed here from the TTU Basketball Camp, a bus driver recommended the place because we were searching for hot wings. What we got were the biggest, most delicious wings I've had in years. When we were there, the wings were HUGE! I'm not usually a fan of blue cheese dressing, but even this won me over. We sat upstairs in the outdoor area and it was great for a summer visit. Simpson's, I mean simply put.... "Best. Wings. Ever."

For some reason we always gravitate upstairs, where the bar is. Good food and some specials on beer and appetizers. I've primarily had the "bar" food.enjoyed it. Blue the owner/bartender is super friendly and nice. I look forward to checking out some jazz some time this summer.

Wouldn't have expected such a wonderful restaurant in Cookeville TN (no offense intended to Cookvillians), especially a Cajun one. Came because of the overwhelmingly positive Yelp reviews and they were right! Wonderful atmosphere, excellent service, and delicious food. The goat cheese pesto appetizer was great, as was the fresh baked French bread that came with it. Having spent a lot of time in southern Louisiana, I decided on the Cajun sampler. It included crawfish étouffée, red beans and rice, and jambalaya. The red beans were lighter, and not what I would call traditional, but very delicious (and my daughter ate all of them!). The crawfish étouffée was a little darker, more like what is sometimes called crawfish stew in the area south of New Orleans, and was also delicious. The jambalaya was traditional, we took it home and it was part of a great lunch the next day. My wife had the Louisiana hot garlic shrimp, it was rich tasting, heavy on the garlic with some heat to it. It came served over rice with choice of two sides, so half the shrimp and rice also became our lunch the next day. My mom ordered the pan seared tuna. It came with 2 thick tuna medallions, cooked rare, one of which was delicious cold served over a salad the next day for lunch. If you are beginning to see a pattern, you are right, the portions were very generous. We sat inside, but there is a beautiful outdoor patio as well as an outdoor balcony off the upstairs dining room. All in all, a great dining experience!

It was all the little things that made my meal at Crawdaddy's enjoyable - the presentation of my citrus salmon plate, the grilled asparagus, the local beers on tap, the extra-friendly bartender, the second-story bar. Somehow all the New Orleans memorabilia including the "stolen" Saints Super Bowl all seemed to fit in well. And yeah, delicious food. If I end up back in Cookeville more will be spending a lot more time here I think...

Great Cajun food outside of New Orleans. The atmosphere gives one the sense of being on Bourbon St and addsto the experience. The food was great. I had the cajun sampler , jambalaya, red beans & rice and crab etouffe. Almost too much food to eat. My wife was concerned about too much spice, but she found the crab cakes excellent. A friend had the cheese stuffed filet which was also excellent. Did not think I would find such a place in Cookeville. The $5.00 per shot sampler of local, top shelf single barrel whiskeys were not bad either. Hope I can find these in my local beverage store in CA. My wife who is somewhat of a creme brulee connosieur said Crawdaddy's was one of the best she has had. All around great dining experience.

I was hopeful having seen the reviews and knowing Cookeville is not a culinary Mecca but I was disappointed. The service was great, Brennan made sure we had what we needed but the cook was off his game. I ordered the sea bass and it came way overcooked, even the creamy sauce didn't save it. I did enjoy the baked sweet potato and the fried green beans were tasty. My husband ordered the special, a rib eye with a balsamic glaze, it, too, was overcooked. I might try it again for lunch and try one of their fish po'boys.

Great atmosphere! Had lunch here yesterday, 5/28/11, and sat outside. We ordered the shrimp bayou dip for an appetizer and it started our meal off great. It was creamy and full of flavor served with some Cajun flavored chips...perfect combination. Patio was shaded and service was attentive and friendly. I ordered the crab cakes with the fried green beans and Cajun fries and my husband had the catfish poor boy. Both were fantastic. Crab cakes were cooked perfectly....some of the best is have ever had. Very fun, friendly place with excellent food and service.

Don't let the name fool you, this is a very nice restaurant located in downtown Cookeville. I expected some type of casual crab shack, but in jeans and a t-shirt, I almost felt under-dressed here. I ordered the chicken alfredo, and my boyfriend had the ribeye. The alfredo sauce was some of the best I have ever had! We ate outside on the patio, which had a nice atmosphere as well. Overall, it is higher priced than other Cookeville-area restaurants, but well worth it in taste.

I love this place. I frequent it for lunch at least twice a month. Sit outside when the weather is good. Just a comfortable place with good food. It is one of the best places in Cookeville.

Always great service. I frequent it for lunch, and dinner on occasion. By far the best grilled salmon in town.

We had a delightful lunch here. The luncheon specials on the back of hte menu were just right for what we wanted to eat while traveling through town and for the portion size very good value. The weather was just right for enjoying the patio rather than eating indoors. Our waitress paid just the right amount of attention to us.
