Great addition to the Collierville dining selections! Since it's opening, it has been very busy each time we went by, however we were able to get in this Saturday to sample their offerings, and we were not disapointed! We elected to split a Spinach Salad, which is hard to find in restaurants, and a Chicken Sandwich. It was creative how the sandwich was handled, you are allowed to customize the sandwich to your taste. We had selected Bleu Cheese for ours, with lettuce, tomato, and pickle, accompanied with restaurant made chips or french fries. We went with the chips, and not disapointed, but next trip will be with the large steak fries. Needless to say, we were pleased with our selections, as stated earlier, hard to find fresh spinach, and they delivered. The Chicken Sandwich was very good (Bleu Cheese very good) placed on a delicious bun! We did not have beverages or desserts this go around, but look forward to return and indulge soon.

This is just what we needed in the Germantown/Collierville area. A true neighborhood Pub with good food, a great beer selection and friendly staff. Our group of four started with the Mac & cheese egg roles, crawfish dip and wings. I loved the whole wings and the egg rolls were a hit with the sirachi dip. Entrees were Cajun Pasta, Mahi Tacos, Steak & Cheese sandwich and the Shrimp and Grits. I would recommend them all but my favorites were the pasta and the steak and cheese. For dessert we had the Fried Moon Pie (which was killer) and the Bread Pudding. We loved this place and will definitely be back. For a restaurant that has only been open 3 weeks they are doing a great job.

Great Food and a welcomed addition. Been twice and much better than chain restaurants. Check out the desserts.

I have been to sky box several times. Love the location. I have gotten something different each of the 5 times I have been there. Recommend the pretzels as an app. Love the Germantown based athletes on the walls! Owner has visited table to make sure everything was alright each visit. What more could you ask for! Break the chain. Shop local!

It's ok for only being open for four months. I would like to see the finesse in the kitchen kicked up a few notches over their first year. The Mac and cheese egg rolls are tasteless. I recommend more cheese and seasoning to add flavor. The pizza needs to improve by working on its sauce. It tastes like the can it came in. The cheese tastes imitation. Using fresh local organic ingredients would make a huge difference. The French fries were clearly frozen. The fresh cut potatoes could truly elevate the product. This is a very small restaurant. It looks like it has a capacity for about 50 diners. There is no reason the kitchen can't step up its game and improve the quality of its food. It could be a neighborhood gem wig a lovely bar scene if they hired a real chef. It's worth the investment because I think the neigh would bring in a regular following. The cherry line ade drink from the bar was too sweet . On the bright side, the server was terrific. The atmosphere is perfect for a sports bar. The burger was handmade and seasoned properly.

I really want Skybox to thrive so I don't want to be negative early on. That said, we went tonight and joined a packed house. The dining side is clean and modern, but I prefer the lower lighting of the bar side. We ordered some beers from a nice tap selection, a house salad and a mahi mahi sandwich with a subbed side salad. My suggestions for the salad - romaine instead of just iceberg, and more toppings. There was just a sprinkling of cheese and croutons. House made dressing would be a huge improvement and more of it. The spouse liked the sandwich, but it can't compare to his favorite Belmont fish sandwich. Add a huge side of tarter (or other sauce) and he would be happy.

We were excited for a new place to open in Collierville, the first time we tried it we thought the food needed a little work. We decided to go back and give them a 2nd chance. It wasn't a busy night and it took a long time to get our order placed and even longer for the food to come out. The mahi tacos were horrible. The fish was very dry & tough, the corn tortillas were stale. On the other hand, the brats sliders were okay. The slider buns were very fresh, but the meal itself was nothing to rave about. The way the bar area is set up is very narrow and a little crowded. I hope they do well, I hate to see any business not make it, especially in Collierville. I like to support the local restaurants and businesses in my town!

This is the best restaurant to happen to Collierville in years! They have tons of TV's playing local sports, and the food is fantastic! I had crab cakes which were cooked just right and the sauce was wonderful. The mahi sandwich was great and I really liked the freshly made chips! Great presentation. Everyone needs to come here!

I was so excited to see a non-chain in Collierville!! Major points for that! When you walk in, you'll undoubtedly be impressed with how clean, new and shiny everything is. There are two rooms...a dining room and the bar side. I love bar action (plus it was lit more dimly - which is always a win), but my girlfriend insisted on sitting in the main area, so we settled at a hightop. After seeing a picture of their beautiful antipasto platter on Yelp (and being obsessed with cheese), that was first up. It was OK, maybe a little bit prettier than it tasted. Their cheese choices were interesting...I'm not sure the cheese they chose have mass appeal. I would stick to the basics (cheddar, brie, bleu). Plus the olive and pepper juices were a bit messy and running everywhere. And just so you are fully aware, their chicken wings are actually WINGS. Like HUGE wings that look like you just popped them off the bird and put them in a fryer (not tiny drumsticks like I was expecting). I'll admit I was a bit of a baby and made my friend's boyfriend cut the meat off the bone. I know, I know. I am such a weeny and yes, I do realize where meat comes from...it just reminded me a little bit too much. I did steal some of my friends' pizza and it was delicious. (Should have ordered that...at least I know for next time.) Oh, and our waiter could not have been nicer - definitely a highlight of the meal.

I heard about this place on the Chris Vernon show. I have been looking for a place to watch NFL games on Sunday and decided to give this a shot. The wait staff was friendly and helpful and the food looked excellent. I got an appetizer, and some water to drink(I have a heath issue that prevents me from drinking beer or tea. Not that this should matter but ...) The second quarter of my the game had just stared and I was waiting for my waitress to get free so I could order the next part of my meal when one of the managers came over to ask if I would give up my table for a party of four that was waiting to be seated. I agreed thinking I would find some were else to sit but then realized there was no where else to sit. He then told me he had to "move product" and did not have room for someone who was "just going to drink water". I paid my bill and tipped my waitress( again she was great) and left. Now if you are looking for a sports bar where you where you can eat good food ( it looked good but then I guess I will never know), get liquored up and spends lots of money this a probably the place for you. All other should keep looking. I can't help but wonder if the four people who took my table would be asked to leave if six people behind them had wanted in.

This is exactly what Collierville needs- a trendy sports bar with amazing food! The mac and cheese egg rolls are awesome, but really, any of the appetizers are great! I love the shrimp BLT- perfectly cooked, large shrimp, with just a hint of spice. And the french fries are the best in town. The chicken ceasar salad was really good, extra points because all of their dressings are made in house. I also love their drink menu, fun cocktails and a large selection of draft beer. This place brought the Midtown vibe to Collierville, and I couldn't be happier! Also, did I mention the TVs? Well, they are all over the place! So you won't miss a minute of the game, whichever game you're watching.

The Skybox is a much needed business for the Collierville/Germantown area. It's a chic, yet laid-back sports-bar with a good range of food and drinks. Many sports bars fall into the trap of being too "grungy" and have a limited menu- not so for the Skybox. My favorite thing was their cocktail menu, which is reasonably priced and has a great variety. Try their Moscow Mule, it's fantastic! As for the food, I recommend the crawfish dip as an appetizer. The entree choices make it easy to find something for anyone! They range from the chicken salad sandwich, to shrimp and pesto pizza, to cajun pasta. And can we talk about their fried moon pie with salted caramel ice cream?!?!?! I had to share it and was fighting the urge to snatch the whole thing! Whatever you're looking for the Skybox offers a cool atmosphere with plenty of tv's and amazing food. Check it out soon, I highly recommend it!

Come for the sports and stay for the food. As a sports nut I'm so glad Skybox is right across the street from the gym! The decor is appealing with a fun wall of pictures called Coach's Corner and lovely local artwork featuring famous Memphis pro athletes including local boy stellar MLB pitcher Matt Cain of my SF Giants!! That's my team on the wall which made me smile right from the get go! Plenty of TVs in the dining area and very friendly and prompt service. Our server Vincent was nice and attentive without rushing us during lunch. We drove by over the weekend and the place was packed which was a great sign! The menu is simple and prices are very reasonable especially for full service dining. Hubby had the burger $7 and it was juicy and fresh. I enjoyed the Mahi tacos $11 and the fish was not overdone! The slaw was crunchy and the remoulade was not too spicy. Sticking with no carbs I left the tortilla shells on the plate and felt great that I had enjoyed a healthy meal in a fun sports setting. I want to come back at night and sit in the bar area during March Madness and try their appetizers and beer on tap.

Should have known when I was told the best items on the menu were the pretzels & chicken fingers....food we had was not very good. Shrimp BLT ciabatta- a few cold shrimp on a small ciabatta with a piece of bacon cut in half, mayo,.Terrible! chips n dip...fair,.,tiny little amount of dip. ..truly about 4 tablespoons. Shrimp n grits....just average. No real flavor. Beer was ok,but my pint glass was warm. Expected better options on food menu and better than sub par food- especially when you have Hueys, Chilis.Booyas & more so close with much better tasting food. Ladies room door had NO doorknob?? Like most new places in town it may b busy initially, but there's nothing to keep you coming back except maybe the kitschy beer tower.

I was less than impressed with the food. I ordered the hamburger and it was fine. The service was slow. Our drinks were empty and we waited and waited for a refill. We finally had to ask. I doubt I will return.

First experience was not good. Our simple food order was apparently misplaced, and forgotten by the staff and waiters. Had to call management to actually discover our orders progress--which was now only entered in the system with no priority. At this point --an hour of no food -- we settled up for our drinks and went elsewhere.

We stopped in for an afternoon nibble and beer to watch some sports. We were actually impressed with the size of this place ... in addition to the being A REAL BAR inside. :) We had the macaroni and cheese egg rolls and they were pretty good, although I thought there probably could have been more roll for the price. Good local beet selection --- although not sure if they had bottles since there wasn't a list. I like my microbrews! Will go back. Their menu looked good - so I would try that next time.

The 1/2lb burger was good. It was cooked correctly. Too often places overlook their burgers. Not here. The fries were also very good. The sliders were good too. Tried the macaroni egg rolls. Meh. Next time I want to try a dessert.

Been here half dozen or so times (by force with the exception of the first time). Food is not very good. They call it a Gastropub but it's really just bar quality food, at best. The service is hit or miss. Mostly miss. I'd avoid this place.

  • Lauren D.

I've been twice now and both times were just as good! One time on the "adult" side and once on the "family" side. The service was great both times and they seemed to know the menu and offer suggestions. Being a sports bar I like the fact the menu offers some twists on traditional pub food but doesn't try to be too fancy or something its not. We went as a family to watch the Triple Crown and it was the perfect atmosphere, not too loud or crowded. Also the friendly manager gave my son a special treat and that was appreciated. I hope they stick around.

This is my second time to visit here in the last two weeks, very yummy food. The owners are friendly and visiting tables and checking on their guests.

I was so excited to find a new, non chain restaurant in Collierville. Though it's got a definitive sports bar/restaurant theme the menu is very different from your average neighborhood Chili's. Within my group we ordered macaroni and cheese egg rolls, chicken tenders, spinach salad with Mahi Mahi, the 1/2lb burger, steak and blu cheese biscuits, and the shrimp BLT. Everything was wonderful. I was quite honestly surprised. Skybox advertises themselves as a "Gastropub" which I was a little confused about before I tried it. It's definitely casual, bar appropriate food but with an upscale spin on everything. I was expecting more run of the mill cheese fries and burgers, but am impressed with the creativity of the menu. The owners are very hands on and made time to visit each table and ask how everything was. It was clear that if I had an issue with the food or service I was welcome to let them know. I'm looking forward to seeing this place grow and flourish in Collierville as I know it will. Oh and the burgers that got bad reviews early on have now been updated and are fantastic! Dessert was killer too.

Fun place with good pub/ sports bar food. Lots of choices from hot dogs to Mahi salad and fish tacos. The appetizers are great with giant delicious soft pretzels and fried Mac and cheese egg rolls. Its fairly loud but not too loud atmosphere with big screen tv's and sport paintings. You can sit on the mainly bar side or the all tables side. Fun place to go for a game but not too bar crazy to take your little kids. This is a fun addition to C'Ville!!

We had the Shrimp & Grits, Mahi Tacos, and the Banana Bread Pudding. The Shrimp & Grits were very, very good, the Mahi Tacos were good, and the Bread Pudding was outstanding! John has done a good job with this place.

Thought I would give it a try. First service was excellent in restaurant area. Bar was busy so u can't comment on the service. Ordered soft pretzels, they were covered in oil, I assume to hold the salt on the pretzels. Lose the oil. Dinner was the worst cheeseburger I have ever had at a restaurant. Not sure what it was seasoned with but it was not good. Fries were just average. Disappointing overall.

Impressive for opening week. They were very busy, and there was a lot of snow so they didn't get all of their food delivered. They still managed outstanding service and good food. Ice cold beer and nice pours of wine. I'll go back as soon as the novelty wears off and there isn't a long wait to get a table!

Went for lunch. The Mac and cheese egg rolls were good, but not as good as my pimento and cheese sandwich! Service was really good! My daughter loved her pizza

I also was excited about another non-chain restaurant in Collierville. First experience definitely left me underwhelmed. For a "sports bar" it was beyond loud. You will not hear sports and carrying on a conversation is challenging at best. The menu attempts a new take on traditional bar food. The antipasto platter had potential; however, the cheese was a flavorless selection. It seems the chef/cook attempts to make it different by drizzling the cheese/meat with balsamic but in the end not that interesting. The mini brat sliders were okay. My wife did enjoy the spinach salad so that is something. Service is marginal. Prepare to wait at least five minutes at the bar before even being acknowledged. Overall disappointing but it was quite busy; possibly because it is new. Hopefully they will continue to improve as I would like to try again in the future.

This place is the farthest thing from a Gastro Pub, it's a sports bar. Gastro Pubs do not have 1 let alone 4 light beers on tap. Also, they have very poor food. The burger came right off of a Sysco truck wrapped in plastic, I'm pretty sure the top fell off the seasoning salt. The staff had zero personality. Brutal experience, best of luck to them though.

Glad to see another local choice in Collierville. Their beer selection is good. Five stars for having MMBC, Wiseacre and Ghost River to choose from. The nachos and mac & cheese egg rolls are pretty good. Go well with the excellent Memphis beers. The hamburger was really bad. The patty was pre-formed and not seasoned well at all. It had the texture of microwave dinner meatloaf and tasted like school cafeteria Salisbury steak. The service was good. I'll be back for the beer and because I want local business to succeed but I doubt i'll go for another meal.

A very nice surprise. We Split the macaroni and cheese egg rolls and the blue cheese steak biscuits. Both were excellent. Perfectly cooked. Hard to pick between 3/4 star - picked three because bar staff slow and space still feels like strip mall.

We were out of town and had a great time watching our home town sport. The staff/service was AWESOME! Friendly and we were there for a long time watching our hockey game and they did not bat an eye. Will definitely come back.

Wanted to enjoy something different for a change and found Skybox on Yelp. The location was convenient for us, and in an area where there aren't any alternatives to the same old chain food. The separated bar/restaurant set up was nice. The place was very clean. It was crowded but we were greeted and seated very quickly. The server was outgoing, knowledgeable and helpful. We ordered the spinach queso, which was very good but seed a little on the small side. The entree food portions were large. My husband had brat sliders with French fries and I had buffalo ranch chicken tenders with house made potato chips and house made ranch dressing. My husband was so full, he wasn't able to eat any of his fries and I was able to only eat about half of food due to the large amount. The atmosphere was simple and nice. The place was very clean. The whole experience was quick and pleasant. The adequate staff was al working hard. We will definitely be back.

Great beer selection, friendly staff, and the new & improved burger is a very good bar burger! I had the 1/3 lbs option and it was great! Wings are served complete, meaning you get the drummy, the flapper, and the piece on the end no one eats. Crispy fries are seasoned and cooked exactly the way I like them. Ask for a side of Sirachi infused sauce to dip them in! Not a bad seat in the house for watching your favorite sport with all the TV's.

Great food and good service! Tasted the pretzels and crawfish dip and ordered the mahi mahi tacos for dinner. All yummy! Will go back!

Has Potential Edit I had high hopes for this new neighborhood "gastropub" in Collierville. We have long needed a cool, modern casual eating venue in our area and so it was with great anticipation that we tried out this new entry. The décor is cute and modern. Loved the graphics on the menu and the menu items all sound very tempting--a nice variety-- but unless Skybox steps up the quality and presentation of its menu items, we probably won't be back. My first trip there was for lunch and I ordered the shrimp BLT. It was passably good but not anything to get very excited about but the homemade chips were delicious. On our second visit, we ordered the spinach queso which was tasty. My husband ordered the Mahi Mahi fish tacos and I ordered the burger. My husband often orders fish tacos, one of his favorites, and reported that they were bland and only passably good, and he felt that the presentation was unappealing and I had to agree. They were served with a skinny "log" shaped piece of fish plunked on each taco and there was no color, no eye appeal to this dish. My biggest disappointment however was the burger. I asked for it medium rare and when it came it was beyond well done. The patty was thin and dense and I suspect it was a frozen patty--very tasteless. The toppings were good and they do give you quite a range of those to choose from but if the burger itself is well, awful, then no amount of toppings will make up for it. Now if there is one thing that a sports bar/pub should do well, it is a burger. The patty should be made in house of good quality beef and should arrive at your table juicy and delicious. I love a good burger and if theirs was yummy I would be a diehard regular. You just cannot call yourself a "gastropub" when the food is of only mediocre quality. We will definitely try them again--we're rooting for them-- and if the quality does improve we will be back regularly

Of course this is a bar with bar food! The beer selection is good with plenty of local beers (wine list is below box wine quality). The food and service are not desirable. Food is below average at best and service is poor! There are plenty of good spots in the Germantown - East Memphis area, but this is not one of them.

Great set up - love the split bar and family/dining room arrangement, of which I frequent both. The atmosphere is nice and beer selection offers options. Very unique to Collierville and worth the trip. Mixed feelings on the food, the Italian Sausage is worth a try - it's a local family recipe.

Went to the Skybox to watch the Final Four. Restaurant side was very busy so we decided to check out the bar. Found 2 open seats at the communal table. We had to sit with our back to the table so we could see the TVs. Not a big deal, we were just having drinks at this point. We put our name on the "list" for a table in the dining room. We hung out in the bar area until our table was up. The bar started to get busy. This created a problem bc there is not much room between the bar and the tables. The waitstaff could barely get through and when they did they were bumping into customers bc there was just no room. Our table finally was up and we were seated in the dining room. It was absolutely freezing in there bc the ceiling fans were on full blast along with the air conditioning. When we asked if the fan above our table could be turned down, the waitress said she was really warm, but she could "see what she could do." The fan went off and within minutes they were back on. When we asked, what appeared to be the manager, he said people were complaining that it was too hot. Not sure where that came from bc when l was looking around it was obvious that the the customers we saw appeared to be cold as well. We asked the manager again if they fans could be lowered. He rolled his eyes and asked the table next to us if they minded if the fans were turned down. They said no not at all. I overheard the woman say she was cold. Our server was good, very nice, although she seemed to be rushing us a bit. Food came out, it was nothing special. We ordered the hummus for an app and for the entree, I ordered the veggie burger and my husband ordered the skybox burger. Like I said, nothing special. Definitely had better. OK, so this is supposed to be a "sports bar" so one would think hearing the basketball game would not be out of the realm of possibility. Not so. The manager was running around the dining room and when he passed by our table we asked if he would turn up the sound he said "he would try." Odd answer...needless to say...it was never turned up. Bottom line, food was nothing to write home about, service was fine, atmosphere has potential, and management (or maybe owner) needs some serious training in customer service. Highly unlikely that we will go back and I wouldn't recommend going there.

Buy definition this is NO gastropub. Skybox grill and bar is no more then a half bar half restaurant in a strip mall taking up 3 store fronts. I feel bad giving it only 2 starts because the (what I assume is the) owner seams nice. The Mac and cheese egg rolls are $4 each and are just ok. I had the chicken nachos if this was just a bar and I was having a drink and wanted a snack the nachos should be ok. But not great. I would not recommend this place if you are just eating. :(

Good bar...but food you would expect to have at a bar. I would not recommend it as a place to meet for lunch or dinner. I would recommend it for a meet and greet.

Hubby and I went to Skybox this evening, with some friends. After all the amazing reviews, I was expecting equally amazing food. Unfortunately, I was let down. There were 5 people in my party, 2 ordered cheeseburgers, which they said were good, and 1 ordered the Shrimp & Grits, which she finished so I suppose they were good. I had a house salad with Mahi Mahi and "House Made Balsamic Vinegarette". The 3 small strips of Mahi were EXTREMELY dry. Hubby ate them. The vinegarette was more like creamy balsamic vinegar and lacked spices and flavour; somewhat okay. The best part of my salad was the bacon bits. Hubby had the Catfish with Hushpuppies and Fries. The fries and the Catfish were delicious but the hushpuppies were undercooked. When my husband asked for fully cooked ones, he was given undercooked again. We didn't ask for another replacement. Overall, the ambiance was nice. Loud, but not too loud for our toddler. I would give it 3 out of 5 stars, based solely on mine & my husband's meals which were less than stellar and not worth the money. We may go back someday. We just won't order the same things. I sure hope those Cheeseburgers were worth the price.

We started with the mac n cheese egg rolls with BBQ and sriracha dipping sauces. The egg rolls are nicely fried and the sauces are a wonderful complement to the mac n cheese. I had a burger and hubby had the shrimp n grits. My med-well burger was well done, but still juicy and the fries were crispy outside/tender inside. Hubby says shrimp n grits were Cajun style and excellent. Very creamy grits with 6 large shrimp and a Cajun spiced gravy. We finished our meal by splitting a fried moon pie with salted caramel ice cream dessert. The moon pie batter was slightly salty and when you added the ice cream in the same spoonful -YUM!!!! Of special note - the overhead fan was making the light on our table appear to be flashing. The waitstaff immediately turned off the fan. Thanks!
