Light chips, good salsa, avg guacamole. Excellent beef chili rellenos. Decent value. Possibly the best Mexican food in Collierville.

Strip Mall Mexican - and didn't even get that right! Yuck! And worse...the service was terrible in that they didn't get anything right and had zero care for customers. Now I now why we haven't eaten here since we moved here 5 years ago!

Okay. First off: their chips are to die for! They are so thin, yet so addicting! You can't stop once you take that first bite! I found out about this place when I went with my coworkers for an offsite team gathering one day. I ended up ordering a Chicken chimichanga. It was rather delicious. The second time I went was with my wife. I ordered the Chicken adobe this time, and the cheese is oozingly (is that a word?) good! My wife ordered the Chicken chimichanga. (NOTE: they have two types of Chicken Chimichangas. I only tried the second one. Their first one is the one that my wife ordered, but she loved it, and it looks rather scrumptious!) Also: their drink glasses are HUGE! I swear, they are Paul Bunion-sized mugs! I love it!

Decided to give this a try based off other Yelper reviews; unfortunately didn't meet my expectations. The Chips and Salsa were good, but it fell off from there. Took advantage of the Margarita promotion, two for $6.00; the taste was fairly flat and uneventful. Ordered the Durango Plate, that included a Cheese Enchilada and and Beef Tamale, the flavor was okay, but again, like the Margarita, was not left with my palette desiring more, or feeling a need to return anytime soon.

Good fajitas and good ice tea. Service could be better. Food is fairly priced and the portions are big. Only complaint is the service.

Chips and salsa were good, but that's it. We both ordered tacos with shredded beef which were so salty we had to douse them with the bland guacamole to make them edible. Should have gone to Taco Bell.

This is the only Tex-Mex place I will still go to now that my tastes have changed and I prefer authentic Mexican food. It has the best salsa ever. I sometimes buy it to-go for my husband (though I would not recommend this as it can be just as expensive as going there- better to just go and get free salsa!). I also love that this place encourages patrons to speak Spanish with the waiters if they know it. In fact, my husband used to get me to order my food in Spanish when I was first learning. The waiters are great and the food is consistently good. The portions are huuuuge. And a huge bonus: They accept competitor's coupons. Foods I have loved: - I typically get the Burrito Asada de pollo (chicken) or #37- they are the same thing but during the week at lunch that's what number it is on the lunch menu. - Mexican Lasagna (chilaquiles) with salsa verde. I was impressed because some restaurants use chips but here they use corn tortillas- which is exactly how my sister-in-law makes it. It was excellent. It wasn't spicy at all but it was flavorful enough that I didn't mind. In fact it is now one of my favorite dishes. - Pollo Borracho was amazing. It has a great presentation and the corn tortillas really balance the flavor out well. Ask for corn tortillas instead of flour- it's delicious! - The carnitas are rich and flavorful and huge. I was really impressed. - The steak and chicken fajita nachos are fantastic, though the chips were soggy and generally indistinguishable from the rest of the food. - My parents often order the fajitas (chicken, steak, and shrimp) to go whenever they're in the mood for takeout Mexican. Foods I didn't like: - I will admit the Mole Rojo gave me heartburn, which is rare for me. - The Mole Verde was ok but it wasn't for me. - The Adobe Shrimp was good at first but the flavor is a bit overwhelming and I found myself liking it less and less the more I ate it. - The tamales are pretty bland. - the tacos are not authentic in any way at all. -Huevos con chorizo- it's super greasy and upset my stomache for the next day. It's not on the main menu though you can request it as it's an authentic favorite (Hubby asked for it.) - Bistek a la Mexicana- I just didn't like the flavor but it was a healthier option on their menu. - Tilapia Veracruz just didn't taste good at all. - Pollo y Camarones Blancos was just meat cooked in cheese- not my kind of thing. - Camarones a la Diablo had a spicy sauce that did not have much flavor. It was ok but I would not get it again. Summary: ~ Great place for Tex Mex food. ~ Food is consistently amazing, well-portioned, and quick to come out ~ Accepts competitor's coupons from Collierville (possibly from around Cville as well but I am not sure) ~ Awesome things about here include: - Burrito Asada de Pollo - Carnitas - Chilaquiles (de pollo con salsa verde) - Enchiladas Mexicanos de Pollo - Fajitas (all) - Pico de Gallo Cheese Dip - Pollo Borracho - Salsa - Steak and Chicken Fajita Nachos ~ Ok things: - Burrito Supreme (with cheese dip instead of Ranchero sauce) - Enchiladas Mexicanas de Steak - horchata ~ Meh things: - Adobe Shrimp - Arroz con Pollo - Bistek a la Mexicana - Camarones a la Diabla - Huevos con chorizo - Mole Rojo - Mole Verde - Pollo y Camarones Blanco Fajitas - Tacos - Tamales - Tilapia Veracruz

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant. I don't care that it's not the most authentic place but it's awesome!!!

If I could give it no stars, I would. Just moved to the area and went here for the first time for dinner tonight. I ordered a combination plate with a taco, enchilada, and tamale (all chicken). When my dinner came there was a thick white sauce covering the enchilada and tamale. I tasted the sauce with my fork and it was awful! Had no clue what it was but did know that it was not good. I had never seen a sauce like this on Mexican food, and I have had a lot of amazing Mexican food having lived in Arizona and California. When the waiter came to check on us I asked what the sauce was, his response "cream sauce". I told him that I didn't care for it at all and was expecting the enchilada to come with enchilada sauce (what a concept). He had no response for me and walked away. A few minutes later he returned with a small dish of red sauce that he wanted me pour over the top, um, hello, this white stuff is disgusting! I put my plate at the end of the table still full of food and on his next time by he took the plate. He NEVER offered to have it remade or offer me something different and I still paid for my dinner. On the way out I was asked how my meal was and I explained everything to the man up front and he as well as a server standing nearby said "all of our chicken dishes come with cream sauce" like I should have known that. No where on the menu does it say that because I looked! So their response was " try to remember that for next time". Are you kidding me? Next time? I don't think so. The food was awful, the service was awful, and they obviously don't care if their guests leave without eating their food!

Our family loves going to La Hacienda in Collierville. It's authentic Mexican and I can't say enough about their chips! Thin, warm, delicious chips and the BEST salsa. We only have Mexican meals at La Hacienda in Collierville. Cutting back on portions? Share the chicken quesadilla with your dinner partner. The perfect size meal.......

Took my dad to La Hacienda for lunch. He's from Texas and picky about mexican food. HE LOVED IT! And so did I. Great prices and the salsa is so fresh. I'm glad he liked it. Maybe now he'll come visit more often.

I love La Hacienda for its staff as well as the food. Many of the servers may seem reserved but they love a friendly smile and conversation. Our favorite? Ask for Nube :) The manager is extra friendly and very accommodating for large parties. The food is always served quickly and hot. The salsa is excellent! My fav dish is enchilada mexicanas. The atmosphere is much warmer than El Porton.

I eat at the other locations all the time, it's my favorite Mexican food in town. Best salsa you will find anywhere. But the people at this location are SO unfriendly. Every time I come in here. Must trickle down from management. Food is excellent but if they could hire someone who isn't a zombie it would make for a better experience. They would make more tips as well so hello wait staff......

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
