Went there for a Friday lunch, wasn't crowded and there is a parking lot around the corner. Something like Jefferson's in Oak Ridge but that feels more like a restaurant with an attached gift shop a la Cracker Barrel. Hoskins is an even older feel lunch counter in an active drugstore like a Norman Rockwell painting, complete with authentic brick wall tiny bathroom. Soup and grilled cheese was nothing special, Philly steak sandwich and rings were pretty good though not very large, though I did exit feeling satisfied. Also had a shake which is a plus. I would say if you had a hankering to go to Mc D's or Hardees and weren't going to eat in the car you should go here instead.

I grew up in Clinton and have always enjoyed going to Hoskins. I still go once every few weeks. The staff is wonderful, the food is great, and you'll be in a historic part of Clinton.

An old-time soda fountain and lunch counter, inside a still-operating pharmacy. Excellent burgers. It is worth a side trip just to see it.

This place is a must stop if in Clinton!!! The lunch special is always good. Very fresh vegetables! If you want a true honest to goodness old fashioned hamburger.... This is the place! Takes you back to a time long gone in most places. Great for Milkshakes too! Had breakfast at Hoskins this am.... It was fantastic! Highly recommend this place for a good meal with a home town feel!! Would give 6 *'s if possible!!!!

Hoskins is a great place to visit and also eat. It instantly transforms you into the past and has an all-around good feeling about it. If I was rating the milkshakes and service alone I would easily have rated it a 5 but I had to drop it yo a 4 because of the portion size. I had the meatloaf and it was great but the size was equivalent to a frozen meal serving size... Definitely not enough for my 6 foot 6 frame but all-around a great little spot in the heart of Clinton.

This is a cute little drug store with an ice cream fountain. We ordered a milk shake (which was a little too wet for our tastes) and an ice cream sundae with walnut syrup (which was really tasty). For local flavor this is a nice stop. We talked with some of the locals at the ice cream fountain and got a feel for the area.

A trip to Hoskins Drug Store (& Hospital Supply & Restaurant) in Clinton, TN is a veritable trip down memory lane, especially for older generations. And it's a neat trip for newbies too! Many of us recall visiting just this kind of establishment as we were growing up and it's wonderful to see one more example of people honoring the past by "living it" everyday. The interior of the old drug store-soda fountain-restaurant is a throw-back to the 1940s and 1950s with aisles of merchandise, prescription drug service and a great little restaurant that serves a host of good grub. Order at the register, then tak a seat in one of the booths and your food will be brought to you in a jiffy. Typical diner fare, plus typical soda fountain fare like floats, sundaes, milkshakes (ansd to my wife's delight, "authentic" Ice Cream Sodas. (Check the 2 pics I've posted of a Cherry Ice Cream Soda and a Chocolate Ice Cream Soda.) The food was fine...nothing fancy, but absolutely fine by diner, travel stop, or common meat 'n three standards. Egg Salad sandwich on white toast - check. Meatloaf with real mashed potatoes and creamy coleslaw - check. Chicken potpie (casserole style) with Turnip Greens and chunks of tender turnip, plus beets and a biscuit - check. (The pot pie was crammed full of veggies and plenty of chicken. It was good!) Hoskins was another one of our Yelp "finds" on a recent road trip and it was a fun find. It's a restaurant worth numerous visits....full of food, charm, and fond memories.

This was a great find. I loved the chicken and dumplings that were on special today with greens and green beans. What a cool downtown restaurant. I wish more main streets America were able to maintain some of this charm. The bypass type towns are destroying these type of old-fashioned communities.
