Amazing food and service. I've been here three times - the Greek salad - the home made pizza - both UNBELIEVABLE!! Today I came in late for lunch - Cyndi was about to eat lunch but she immediately set her meal aside and helped me - joyfully and checked on me a few times too. Awesome Job Cyndi- Thank you. Best meal to date: the Gondolier Salad!!!

I found Gondolier to be a great restaurant. It's clean and new looking with a Greco-Roman decor that offers a formal appeal to a casual restaurant. They offer complementary bread sticks that are soft, warm, and ever-so slightly seasoned; they were quite good. I ordered the large house special (supreme) pizza that was 14 inches an big enough to feed a family of 4. The pizza was average not spectacular, but not bad either. The worst thing I could say about the food was that the pizza oven might be cooking at the wrong temperature as the crust wasn't cooked to perfection. The ingredients were ultra fresh though; it was probably the best tasting sausage I've had on a pizza yet. Oh, and the offer domestic draft beer by the pitcher. They also have a very extensive menu in addition to your classic Italian cuisine. Well done Gondolier! Keep up the good work.

In town for the weekend and tried this restaurant because it was close to our hotel. It was on a Friday at about 5 pm. We were seated quickly. We desided to eat out on the patio area. Our server was polite and knowledgeable. We had a large pizza and it was pretty good. Better than eat at one of those national chain pizza joints. If I ever have to stay in the area again I will definitely go back.

The pizzas and cheese sticks are great. The tour of Italy just decent. The overall cost was a little high for the quality of the food. In the tour of Italy we found some egg shells.

Good service, very clean. The gyro plate is excellent. Their breadsticks are addictive (try dipping then in the homemade ranch dressing, I know it's weird, but it's yummy!) their chicken and rice soup is great, as well. I'm not a fan of the marinara, it's got a slight cinnamon flavor.

On the road, with a cold, just wanted a bowl of soup. Not that easy to find. But soup du jour was a homemade chicken rice and just what the doc ordered

This afternoon, while headed north on Interstate 75, we decided to stop at The Gondolier restaurant in Clinton, Tennessee. Based on YELP reviews that were positive, we decided to give it the California test ... and it passed with flying colors. Located across the parking lot from the Walmart on Highway 61, it's completely hidden from the highway. Unless you are purposely going there, or unless you're a local, it would be difficult to find. But once you find it, this is one of those treasures you're not likely to forget. We were seated in a pleasantly decorated room, with scenes of gondoliers poling down the canals of some ancient Italian city. Our server, a wonderfully pleasant and informed lass named Whitney, was attentive throughout the meal, despite the fact that she had several other tables to which she attended with equal care. I had the Zorba Special Combination, described as slices of tasty gyro meat, chicken souvlaki, pork tenderloin souvlaki, grilled shrimp and spanakopita. Served with pita bread, greek salad on the same plate and tzatziki sauce with your choice of rice, spaghetti or french fries. I chose the french fries. Susan had the Greek Gyro, described as tasty slices of gyro meet, served with pita bread, greek salad and tzatziki sauce, with your choice of rice, spaghetti or french fries. She chose spaghetti as her side. While we waited for our order to be fired, Whitney served us delightful freshly baked bread sticks with warm marinara. The bread was melt-in-your mouth delicious and the marinara was so delicious, I would choose to have it as a side, instead of tomato soup, along with a sourdough toasted cheese sandwich. When our orders arrived, we knew from the start that we would exercise the take home privilege, since the plates held an ample amount of food. My french fries were absolutely THE BEST I have ever had. Whitney explained that they were cut on site from Idaho potatoes and flash fried without any seasoning at all. The outsides were remarkably light and crispy, with fluffy potatoes inside ... YUM. Our Greek salads were good, but not great, and that is no fault of the staff. The tomatoes this time of year are pretty sad, but once they get up and start ripening, I'm certain the salads will improve immensely. The gyro meat was a mixture of lamb and beef, so succulent that it could be cut with a feather and mouth-wateringly delicious with just the right amount of Greek spices. My chicen souvlaki was a bit on the dry side, the grilled shrimp was perfectly seared and the pork tenderloin souvlaki was scrumptious. The Gondolier is a bit of a drive from our home, but a meal like this deserves a repeat, and repeat we will!

One of the best restaurants in Clinton. It's easily located off the Interstate, but that doesn't limit it to only a passing-through clientele. A lot of locals eat here, too. Don't let the strip mall location turn you off. The food is really good and the menu is super diverse. The best part is the small town service you receive. Every server is well-trained and extremely attentive. Tip well, people, tip well!

Stopped by with my Mother on a road trip heading North on 75. We were hungry, with dining options near the freeway somewhat limited. Food tasted - as a previous reviewer noted - like warmed up frozen grocery food. And my Mother's Salad had a plastic cap from what probably was the salad dressing container in it. Waiter didn't offer any discount upon this discovery, just to replace the salad which had pretty much killed our appetite (we declined.) In general, the service was slow, even though the place was not near capacity, with our waiter more interested in playing with the TV on the wall than serving his customers. Not sure what all the other reviewers rating this place 4-5 stars were smoking. On a good day, I would give this place 2-3 stars. Add slow service coupled with a plastic cap in the salad, and you get 1 star.

We ate there after reading a couple of good reviews and we were visiting Clinton during a festival so were not familiar with the town at all. The food was very good and portions were ample. Prices were good and the service we received was exceptional. I can't recall what we ordered but I do remember everyone was well pleased and we did order desserts. There were 4 of us, two couples and we split two desserts that were large enough to share and were just decadent! Very good place to eat and be well taken care of while you enjoy your meal. Would recommend you give it a try, we ate there at noon on a Sunday.

I am a truck driver . I stopped at walmart and decided to sit down and give the gondolier a try . My waiter was a very nice young man Jaelin.S.... extremely pleasant and helpful. I commend such a young man with a great work ethic. I was also please with my meal which started with chicken and rice soup. Very flavorful not stuffed with just rice and nice white meat chicken. My ceasar salad also was just right correct amount of dressing shaved parma. I was pleased. Then came bread sticks with tomato sauce. I was very surprised. The sauce was mild not over seasoned. A very good sauce. And to top all this of a tremendous portion of spaghetti with eggplant parmagiana... covered in melted mozzerella. An extremely generous portion of eggplant . It was tasty for sure. I couldnt possibly finish . So guess whats for lunch tommorrow. There display case was also impressive with hugh cakes cannolis and brownies. To which i passed on . As i was stuffed. I will return

Probably my favorite place in town to go. Food is good and the staff is usually pretty good, although they have a couple of waiters that need to find a new occupation. Always clean inside. The pizza and the steak quesadilla are excellent. They have a great selection of desert, though it's kind of pricey

Very pleasant. Large servings. Split a Calzone and small salad. Great breadsticks with meal.

The food here is always tasty and the menu has a wide variety. I usually get the pizza or one of their calzones. The salads are fresh and the breadsticks are hot and fluffy.

Okay - I'm sad that Alan beat me to yelping this place first. Go out of the country for 21 months and you don't stand a chance anymore. I generally hate the Gondolier - and when I say hate I really mean despise. My wife kept telling me this one was different and since it was near the house we stopped by to use a gift card we received for Christmas. MAN OH MAN was I surprised. We've been back about once a week since then. The gyros are excellent - not the dried out stuff other Gondoliers serve. Tzatiziki - great. Spaghetti, lasagna, and pizza - superb. I had a cobb salad with chicken last time and it was out of this world. Most of the wait staff were attentive and courteous. Deserts are great too - but like Alan said - a little pricey for me.

Gondolier tastes like the grocery store frozen food section brought to life. However, because I haven't found anything better around town, I keep going back.
