I would say that everything on the menu is very average and comparable to the rest of the Mexican restaurants in town. BUT... There is one plate on the menu that is awesome, the enchiladas suizas. Fajita chicken meat, covered in quest and tomatillo sauce. Nice blend of queso and a spicy sauce. By far the best flavor of anything on the menu!

Best service!!!!! Best deal in Cleveland!!!!! Ask for Julie to be your waitress, she so sweet! My wife and friends eat here weekly!! They have a live band on Thursday nights

Excellent food and service. I've been going for years! Manuel certainly takes a lot if pride in his restaurant. If you haven't tried, definitely worth visiting.

Decided to go here because I didn't really want Mexican but boyfriend did and I was in the mood for the Milenesa de Pollo which isn't at La Altena. So there are maybe 3 other tables and 2 waiters when we get there. Our waiter brought us our waters in a timely manner but no straws. So I had to wait about 5-10 minutes while he cleaned two tables to ask him to bring us straws. He brought silverware out after that too because we also didn't have that. Food is horribly inconsistent. I've ordered the same thing the past 5 times I've been here and it's always different! Sometimes it comes with two chicken breasts and sometimes one and there is no lunch/dinner difference. I paid $10 for a single THIN fried chicken breast, a ton of rice (more than half my plate) and a 'salad' of lettuce and pico de gallo. I had asked for no tomatoes which were clearly in the pico on my plate. I did like their chips though. The salsa tastes ok but I don't care for the huge chunks of onion in it. And we never got a single refill on our waters and mine was empty. We also waited a long time for the check, the other waiter had to go tell ours to bring our check. We were also going to get drinks but there were no specials till 4pm. The drinks are dreadfully overpriced. Literally twice the price of La Altena's drinks. $20+ for a pitcher of Margaritas!?! And they want $6 for a single margarita and it's a Mexican place! I left not full and was still hungry. Welcome to my blacklist, not returning to this location.
