Do NOT go for the Piano Bar! They love to highlight how they have a "piano bar", but if you want to get into it, you have to order dinner. Do these people know what a piano bar is? A piano bar is where people go to order wine or cocktails, and listen to a pianist. They might serve food. But you don't require people to order dinner just to enter! A restaurant is where you go for dinner. The Palms is a restaurant AND bar, so why can't I choose? My wife and I did have a drink in the lounge before we left only because we wanted a few minutes to search our smart phones and find a better place. The only redeeming quality of this place was that the bartender in the lounge was competent, unlike the management. He makes a good martini. But I've no interest in sitting in a small lounge when there's a "piano" bar in the next room. What a joke! As for piano bars, does anyone know of some good ones in the Chattanooga area, where the only strings attached are to the piano?

This place is ok. Food is decent - you can smoke in the bar area - most of the bartenders and servers are good - This is nice if you are staying at a local hotel because you can either walk or take a very short ride especially if you are @ one of the Marriots on Center st. I been here about 8 times good place to meet other business travelers.

Has not been a great experience for people of color. Door person/manger very rude and being very selective about who they were letting in. Skipping over people that were standing in line just to pick the person behind them.

I have been here for a couple nights and I can say that the service has been more than great! They have changed the main bartender and she (Jessica) is great, very attentive, always smiling and interacts with everyone including out of town guest along with the regular. The vibe is relaxed and casual with good ambiance. I would hesitate to recommend this place to everyone. I have not partaken in the club/dance area. The food is also on par and wouldn't be afraid of ordering anything. Great job! I also heard that the previous bartender that has been mentioned in other reviews moved on to a different venue and the replacement is great! Be sure to stop by and say hello!!

II have been to the Palms a number of times but only in the nightclub area and this was the first time I actually ordered food. It is located in a strip mall and the nightclub is very popular and seems to attract an older crowd (30-50s). There is plenty of parking. After 8 PM there is a cover charge of 10 dollars. I don't think it is worth it but it doesn't seem to affect business at all. They have live music sometimes but most of the times I have been there is a disc jockey. When you walk in the bar, dance floor and tables on to the left and there is a restaurant to the right. I have looked in the restaurant area and it seems like a really romantic atmosphere so I will have to try it one time. I had my motorcycle helmet and jacket when I arrived at 8:30, paid my ten dollars and they offered to hold my stuff so that was nice. It gets busy around 10 PM and sometimes it is so packed you can hardly move. This night I sat at the bar and had couple of beers. Bartender was friendly and while they did not have draught beer, they had a pretty good selection of bottled beer. They also serve mixed drinks and are not skimpy on the alcohol. This is the first time I had food in the bar and I ordered chicken fingers grilled and I was pleasantly surprised. The chicken was excellent and served on a bed of steak fries. There were so many I could not eat them all. I have been here a few times before and everyone is friendly and they have an outside porch that wraps around and is a nice place to sit if weather is nice. It also allows you to get away of the non-stop loud music... made for dancing. After around 11 PM the dance floor everyone seems to let their hair down and lot of bumping and grinding. Gets a little loose if you know what I mean. I would give this a 3 or 4 because for the crowd it attracts.. it works....

Last time I stayed in Chattanooga I went to the Palms night club with some people I met at the hotel. Apparently there's a restaurant here too but we weren't there for that. The club upstairs was extremely packed and full of willing singles. We originally picked a spot by the main bar and set up shop but then made our way to the deck outside where it was much more comfortable. The deck has it's own dedicated small bar with just the right amount of people shuffling around. I drank way too much and had one of those nights where I woke up in unfamiliar surroundings ...a story for another time. Overall, we had a good time and I'd probably go back. The cover was a bit much though, but that's to be expected if you're going to hit the club scene.

The waitress was very snippy. Acted like we were a burden. Asked if we could move a chair to a 4-top near the piano. She acted as if it was an imposition on her. We ordered drinks and she tried to leave hurriedly before we could order an appetizer. Not very attentive at all. Not very friendly. Name was LeeAnn.

Actually LeeAnn is an extremely competent bartender. Was going to cut me off after several beers until she found out I was not driving since I was staying across the street. Good atmosphere and the above bartender was very attentive and friendly . I think one of the more responsible institutions I have come across in my travels. When in area will definitely come again.

Went to chattanooga (1st time) for my birthday. My husband and I arrived at The Palms @ approximately 1am (our hotel was on the street), we paid $15 to enter...we only wanted food. Unfortunately, within 3 minutes of sitting down we were greeted by thee rudest waitress ever. I instantly decided that we would not be staying at the establishment and spending any more money. My husband and I proceeded to leave (& ask for money back), only to be followed by the rude waitress..who in route told security that we were the issue. Our money was not returned and we waited outside for the police...i called them. As we waited we were harassed and belittled by the waitress and manager. It was truly hard to keep the peace, but I believed that everything would be fine once the police arrived. Was I ever wrong, the police took a statement from me and then disappeared into the club, with the owner. The police stated that they watched the video and saw the waitress approach my table and follow me out the establishment, but because there is no audio, its hard to know who started the altercation. Are you serious???? I walked away...clearly she was the aggressor, duh! I was told to file civil charges to get my $15 back...i live out of state. The way my husband and I were treated, by every staff member we encountered at The Palms, is evident that while they cater to african americans on weekends (for the money), they do not care for us one bit. I will never ever forget how I was treated...I'm actually angry enough at this moment to proceed with the civil suit, just to prove that they cannot treat people of any race this way. Then again what good will it really do...in Good Ole Chattanooga. With the above being said, if one patron reads my review and proceeds with caution before visiting this establishment, its worth more than my experience.

So, thought i would try this again after the not so good first time visit. It was not as busy and I had a much better visit tonight. The shrimp martini was awesome! The band rocked too!
