My favorite place for good food and BEER. Amazing selection and fun passport program.

Unfortunately "Taco Mac" has been re-branded as "T Mac" and has become an insufferable, understaffed sports bar with a TV in your face no matter where you are sitting. Not only that, but the quality of food and service has completely hit rock bottom. If you ate here before August 2014, remember the good times, for they are long gone.

Went there for st pattys day and waited 20 min for my beer an hour to order food and an hour and a half for my food. There were two waiters and a hostess at noon on st pattys day. It was not busy. Food was okay. Def not worth the wait or the price.

The draft beer had an off-taste. The bar looks impressive with nearly 100 beers on tap, but the lagers i tried, including Anchor Steam, all tasted like Beer Clean was still in the lines.

This is a great Sports Bar. TV's everywhere! The food is pretty good and they have a ton of draft beers. My only complaint would be the service, but it seemed like a kitchen problem and not a server problem.

Outstanding staff! I'm paleo so they specially prepared me some steamed broccoli (without the butter that usually comes on it) then let me sit in the corner of an empty section and drink tons of ice water, watch TV, and charge my phone. Exactly what I needed.

This has always been a favorite of mine when I lived in Chattanooga. We ate there once a week. I was in Chattanooga a couple of nights ago and stopped by for my favorite wings. Unbeknownst to me, they completely remodeled. I met a group of old friends there and never again. They weren't very busy. Hillary was our server. We waited 30 minutes for all 5 of us to get our drinks. I might add they were not busy. We finally got our drinks after summoning another server. We ordered wings wet. They sent the wings dry. We chased them down all night for water and beer. A young man came by in which I asked if he was the manager. He replied yes. I told him the situation and with a cavalier attitude he told me "we are having a bad night". I was floored. The old taco mac wouldn't stand for this. I paid my my $90 tab and said never again. I tried calling corporate but they now hide their number. Absolutely sickening. I will never step foot in tmac again.

Shitty service. If bartenders looked up and saw who was behind the folks sitting at the bar, they would double their income. #shittyservice #sucks

Just ate lunch there and it was delicious! The Greek Mediterranean wrap was large and had tons of hummus. I had sweet potato fries on the side and they were the best fries I had in a long time. I would definitely eat there again. The hostess and waitress were friendly and helpful. It took a while for the food to arrive but everything is so fresh that I wouldn't expect it to be any quicker.

If you are looking to get great beers at great prices, this place is for you! They have TONS of beer on tap and a huge collection of bottled and canned beers as well! They change the craft beers out often so you never get bored. I have been here frequently (mostly on weekends) to catch the games and drink a brewski. They have ample seating and lots of TVs so you'll never miss out on the action. If you are looking to eat here as well, you really can't go wrong with any selection. My personal favorite are the grilled chicken nachos! They come loaded with everything you want to see in great nachos. Black beans, jalapeños, lots of chicken, fresh Guac, salsa, sour cream, and cheese. You really can't go wrong with them! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because of the service. It's kind of hit and miss especially on a week day. I came in on a Monday really wanting a beer. I came alone and sat at the bar. It took a few minutes for the bartender working that night, Sandra, to even acknowledge me (something that have never happened previously with other bartenders). I have had other experiences where sometimes our server would go MIA on us and leave us sitting with empty beer glasses and hungry. Other times, were spectacular! I suggest going to Taco Mac on a Friday night with some friends to down a few beers and grab a bite to eat! Really a great place to eat and drink. I'll be returning with mine soon.

Came here last week with my boyfriend and had a great time. Went back tonight with a friend from out of town, hoping for the same experience. It was NFL Sunday, so figured it would be busy. Waited about 10 mins after being seated for a waitress to come for our drink orders. She seemed a bit frazzled since it was busy. Drinks came eventually, but my friend's drink was incorrect. Waited again for his correct drink to come. Once that was done, we ordered our appetizer and meals while we had the waitress's attention. Waited about 5 mins for the appetizer (chips and queso), and our meals came shortly thereafter. Then we realized we didn't have any silverware, so we caught our waitress's attention. She said she would "go find some," but I saw her stop at about 5 other tables before she looked like she was addressing our issue. She came back later with two sets of plastic forks and knives and said she "looked everywhere" but couldn't find any silverware for us. Mmmmmkay. Manager stopped by and apologized, but never brought us any clean silverware. Clearly no one in the kitchen was hustling to fix that. The waitress came back and apologized and said she was overwhelmed. I understand that it was busy, but it's food service, and it's an NFL Sunday. It's going to be busy. I worked in food service for 5 years, and there are much better ways to handle being overwhelmed that don't aggravate your customers. Sorry, TMac. At least my beer was good.

Food, not great, but that is the least of your worries. Just hope you get to eat at all! Went in on a weekday afternoon. Had an hour and 10 minutes before we had to be a block down the street to take a tour. When we entered a large group of about 10 was leaving and there were about 8 to 10 other people in the restaurant. We waited about 10 minutes just to have drink orders taken. Then we ordered - mac and cheese for our son, fish and chips, and pork tacos. We waited and waited. At the 45 minute mark, the waitress said it would be just another minute, though the couple that came in at the same time was well into their meal. That one more minute was an additional 15. The waitress never came to check on us, explain if there had been a problem, etc. Food finally arrived. We immediately asked for the check. Fish was ok - nothing spectacular, pork tacos were cold, and the "oven baked" mac and cheese was Kraft mac and cheese. Now, I will say when I ordered the mac and cheese on the menu, the waitress asked if I wanted the child size and I said sure. She didn't mention that we would be given Kraft mac and cheese from a box. We managed to eat one piece of fish, 8-10 bites of mac and cheese and my husband left eating his taco as we made our way down the road for an hour and a half tour - needed to eat something and we had no more time. I can't imagine how this place manages to serve people during a busy time if they can't take care of a couple of tables. No apologies for the wait and lack of service and no offer to make things right. Overall a poor experience from the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out - poor service, poor food prep and choices, and a poor choice on our part!

Generally. Service is ok. Depends on who is actually managing at the time. Some managers are more involved with their execution. Most just stand and watch. This place has a lot of potential, we will see if they get there. Staff is generally great. It's management and upper management making the mistakes.

    (1)
  • Melissa M.

Food was decent but the craft beer options make up for it and to be fair, I've only been there once. Lots to choose from so next time I'll try something different. Staff was really friendly. Definitely a good pregame spot!

Been here several other times so decided to drop in again and bring someone new to it. It was around 4pm on a Saturday, not a peak time even with March Madness in process. No major games playing as Kentucky was coming up. Very surprised to walk in and get a 30 minute wait time. Only a couple others waiting, but 25 to 35 tables empty. However, none cleared. I have never been in any restaurant that was this trashed with nothing cleaned. Most places would clear some of the debris while you sat if your watching a game. Thus was unreal. Inside and out, every table piled high with plates, trash, and beer glasses. We ended up finding a place at the bar where we continued to wait to get served. Not all the poor bartenders fault. They clearly did not have enough help. One bartender for bar and making drinks for rest of bar. It was all we could do to get a beer. Was going to eat but left vs the wait. Only reason to give two stars vs one, is because I know they are better than this.

It's 6 pm on a beautiful Saturday night Tennessee game on and the restaurant is packed to the brim. Hour and a half wait. That's understandable for a place that has never won "fastest restaurant in Chattanooga" BUT the 20+ seating outside that's openly available but the servers are "too busy to give you good service" is absolutely unacceptable. Poor management. I hope somebody who cares reads this to make the correct changes as needed.

Can we say ISSUES??? I have been to Taco Mac several times over the years, but in the past year my experience just keeps getting worse. In the past 6 months, I have had to send food back, drinks back and once waited almost an hour for nachos. No manager, no sorry, no one cares. Cold food, cold staff. Not the place I am recommending to anyone. The new "TMac" may have got a remodel on the building, but they need one for the staff and food at the Chattanooga location. Management is a word they need to look into at this location. The T needs to be for training.

I like this place. It's all around pretty good and it's a cool spot at night. That being said, today I got there shortly after they opened. I went to the bar to order a to-go meal. 10 wings and wrap. I waited and hour and 10 minutes to get it. (didnt come until I spoke with 2 waiters). Then the order was messed up when I got it home. Granted, they said they had someone place a $200 order right before me; it would've been nice for them to give me a warning before I ordered or at least checked on me. I had to hunt down people for help. I do like this place and will continue to come back but the to-go element was def flawed today. Another customer sitting by me left upset before I did. I like you guys, just work on the customer service. The place was empty when I got there!

Love TacoMac but this location has major issues. Last 3 times over 6 months have had nothing but bad service and cold food. Too many good places to eat close by.

"All right, brain, I don't like you and you don't like me - so let's just do this and I'll get back to killing you with beer." -Homer Simpson Whenever I am in Chattanooga, Market Street is usually the home of my own personal pub crawl, and T.Mac is as good a place as any to start the killing of the brain cells. Service is pretty good, big selection of beer, and lots of big screens to entertain the locals. Overall, A-OK. Cheers!

I don't drink much but when I do I love something sweet, and this definitely hit the spot. Was actually pretty strong surprisingly but very good!!! Highly recommended for anyone that likes a strong but sweet drink!

Arggh. This one is tough because I just left working there. Don't want to be prejudiced here. In any direction. But here's the previous customer/recent insider perspective. Before I worked there, I really liked TMac (yes, what it is called now) but I had to take down the positive reviews when I became an employee six months ago (per Yelp terms of service). Now, I can write it up as I am no longer an employee. First, one of the better (great? cool? not sure the English major way to say this) mgt that I have experienced in my resto life (leave corp America and bounce around a bit and start working as a bartender/server...you learn the degrees of difference in this business) for one very big example- while closed for the remodel . . . servers were compensated for that period, as I was. But I was on medical leave after breaking my face, so they didn't have to do that. Also, mgt in general was great, but it did get a skosh too corporate for me, solid overall. Awesome sauce - I mean queso. Which leaves me to the food part of this review. The queso rocks. I guesstimate that I had (sold to?) 85% of my tables get it. That good. The quesadillas are awesome. I like the steak best but - one thing I loved about working there is that the policy is . . . make the guest (never a "customer") happy, in any and every way we can. To wit: I found a way to get a vegan customer to get a veggie one- no cheese, add extras like tomato and make sure extra mushrooms and black beans. Don't even get me started on the Chicken Fingers of Goodness. Three large, delicious pieces of all natural, hormone free chicken. Fried but so good. The nachos....please, y'all. I only had one guest ever finish the whole order and I was so impressed. They are that big. I prefer the chicken version but the ATW (with seasoned beef and chili) are very popular - and yes, though it is kinda annoying for your server and the kitchen, you can get any/all ingredients on the side. The steak philly (chicken philly is not as good) and the chicken Swiss sandwich are super, as is the Cobb Salad. The burgers are ok but not I-must-have good. Also- any server should tell you that almost any item can be omitted or substituted. But there are exceptions . . .Onion is one specific example - cannot be removed from the salsa, the queso, or the chili. Since the remodel, which I loved and still love- the place is beautiful - but there have been issues. Kitchen issues, bar issues, staff issues - even equipment issues (that Sat when the TVs went down smack in the middle of the first weekend of football totally sucked). BUT- the effort has been made and, I believe, will continue to be. The kitchen staff works hard (when have you been hollered at by seven or more people about that order you need? when have you hand-washed a ton of dishes and remained basically calm?). The servers (mostly) work hard. The bar and Management definitely works hard. We are also held to specific standards, behavior and even mystery shopping reports. Some customers are more patient and understanding than others- whether it's too long on wings at a weekday lunch, or a beer undelivered on a Saturday game day. All of that is worked to make improved, better, or - not happen at all - every time. So, bottom line? 4* stars for food when it is done right. 2-3* for timing of food and drink service when it gets busy. 1* for parking (but I'm kinda joking bc this is not TMac's fault) 5* for the new roasted wings and flatbreads (seriously, try the roasted, my fave is lemon pepper and the bbq chicken fbd is great). *7 stars for mgt and company effort. *19 stars for the fries I always want to steal from a guets's plate *10 stars - WAIT!- did I not mention the 96 beers on tap, Thu pint night (keeper glass) and options like Dogfish 120 when no one else had it? Yeah, I may not be part of the family any more....but overall, it's good stuff.

Horrible service. Waitresses with bad attitudes. Judgmental clientele. Food has gotten worse over the years. Out of many beers and food items on their menu on a Saturday.

  • Julius I.

One star is a stretch...dropped in for a quick bite with a friend. Waited 20 minutes for the server to take our order. Ordered 6 pack wings and wedge salad. Food arrived one hour after sitting down. Horrible service, horrible excuses. Ever since Taco Mac went private the service and food has gone to the pot. Unless your focus is beer and beer alone, don't bother with this crappy excuse for a restaurant..

We enjoyed our lunch here with the family. Cheese steak was awesome and the wings were great too. Tons of draft, craft beers to choose from, clean, and multiple TV's. Service was friendly and good. We will for sure return!

This is a typical T. Mac , and I mean that in the best of ways. The food is always consistent and the beer list is famous for a reason. Try the new cayenne pepper wing sauce!! Thursday's are pint nights and you can get seasonal glasses with purchase. Bon apetit!

Service was the best we've had in many moons, from any restaurant. All the way Burrito was excellent. Ask for the steak tacos. They're not on the menu, but available and more than worth it. Fresh guacamole with chips to start. Our first visit, definitely not the last!

This is my favorite restaurant /bar in Chattanooga. I have been coming here for about ten years. I had a blind date here at that time. That's how I found it. There have mostly been some nice bar tenders and staff here. All the bad ones have left or been fired and that includes the managers. Everybody that works here now is customer service friendly. The food is beer food. I like coming here for the different beers. As far as beer to recommend, anything that starts with an S. In other words, Samuel Adams to Sweetwater. Sit at the bar and ask for Jason.

  • Dale C.

The food and service were excellent. Chips and salsa were a great way to start the meal. We got the chipolte burger fries and onion rings. Cooked perfectly! The place is an awesome place to.watch .any sporting event.and the.beer selection rocks! Try local selection!

  • Craig L.

Now named T-Macs since everyone called them that anyway. The remodel and expansion are complete and it was very successful. Love the new look and the new menu items. The queso dip is still the best in town. The new flat breads are excellent and 96 beers on tap are just awesome. Service was fast and friendly for us. They have an entirely new staff so I suspect this can be hit and miss until they get a bit more experience. We have been a couple of times and had great service. TV's are everywhere and this is a great place to catch any sporting event you could care to see, Lots of patio seating and great for groups.

Mediocre food, mediocre and very slow service, servers forgetful and had to ask for nearly everything (silverware, condiments, etc.) Overpriced food and drinks. Won't be back here.

    (2)
  • Mark B.

I will say that this place is huge on the inside. Then the beer line up is one of the most impressive that I have ever seen. There must be close to 100 beers on tap here. I was told by another bartender that they have good wings. So wings it was. I ordered the regular wings medium. The wings were on the small side but the were pretty big on flavor. This is a good place for he younger crowd to meet and eat something.

    (4)
  • Chain B.

Service sucks. Would not eat here again. Took forever to get a server over to order drinks. Drinks took a long time to come out. Food took over 30 min to come out. Wasn't busy either. Place was 2/3 empty. Waving server down isn't working. I wonder if we can make our own salsa with this bottle of ketchup. I am thirsty. Lots of empty glasses sitting here. This makes me unhappy.

This is by far the worst Taco Mac I have ever been to. Horrible service and the food was not that great either. I left and went to the Applebee's down the street.

I went to T. Mac for lunch today and we were seated immediately. We waited about 5 - 10 minutes before we were greeted at which point we placed our order. I ordered a water with lemon and my colleague asked for sweetener for her tea along with our meals. We had to ask two more times before we finally received the lemons or sweetener. It took almost an hour for our food to arrive after we ordered and another colleague still had to wait an additional 5 minutes for a salad! I ordered the wrap and it was so soaked with a buffalo type sauce that I could not eat it. I waited another 5 -10 minutes for our server to come back to the table which she did not and finally had to flag down the host to ask if I could order something else. I ordered a burger. I guess the manager came over to speak with me but he never introduced himself or seemed to care about my order or wait time. I waited an additional 30 minutes for my burger at which time I just asked to have it wrapped up to go. I get back to my office to finally eat and there is not lettuce, no tomato, just a bun, meat, cheese and bacon. I would never ever recommend this place. The service is slow and the management does not care. There are much better places in Chattanooga. Save your money.

  • Richard S.

Taco Mac is an adequate place to watch a game on Saturday and Sundays and have satisfactory food. The wait makes this place not worthwhile sometimes but they do have a good beer selection on tap and you could do worse. It's definitely comparable with the other sports bars (such as Buffalo Wild Wings) whether in price, food or atmosphere. If you're looking for something other than chicken wings while you watch football it is worth the visit.

    (3)
  • David C.

I got overcharged (trainee waitress) and lost the receipt, but they were really nice and refunded me without any hassle. Great wings too!

    (5)
  • Tom W.

I have been visiting this restaurant since 2010 and in the beginning it was one of my favorite places. In the last 6 to 8 months it has started going downhill and today it has hit the bottom for me. I ordered the southwest chicken wrap and asked for ranch to go along with it. The ranch that was given to me looked felt and tasted like tartar sauce, and when asked the waiter said that he was sure it was ranch because they don't have tarter sauce there. Their menu has constantly changed, food is over priced and the quality of this location has really dropped. I may try other locations but I will not be back to this one.

    (2)
  • Stephanie P.

Typical sports bar. Good food - the standards - wings, burgers and nachos. We had the chipotle ranch burger and boneless wings. Both were really good. Tons of beer on tap. The service was really slow.

    (3)
  • Rich R.

Four Stars for the beer on tap. Great beer on Tao if you like high ABV and craft beers. Food is good but so is Taco Bell Mexican. Come for the craft beer selection.

    (4)
  • Eliza R.

I want to mention that Taco Mac is not a Mexican restaurant, and they don't even have tacos on the menu! So I'm not sure why it's listed as Mexican. That said, Taco Mac is your run-of-the-mill sports bar with really loud music and like 10 televisions blaring sports games. Really, the interior can be so deafening at times that I suggest sitting outside if weather permits. The majority of food offered is certainly nothing to write home about, but the wings are AWESOME, and so are the queso/chips. The beer selection is vast and they usually have a few specials going on. This is a good place to hang out with a bunch of friends, drink, and load up on unhealthy food... and it sure beat the Chili's across the street.

    (3)
  • Jason K.

First, in spite of the name this is NOT a "Mexican" restaurant. There's a bit on the website and the menu about the history of the name. As a bar this would get 5 stars. AMAZING beer selections in draft, bottles, and cans. There are hundreds of choices at any one time, and some selections are rotated in and out monthly. Plus a full liquor bar; lots of big-screen TVs; and their top-rated food items are the buffalo wings and smothered nachos (i.e., bar food). I tried the Stone Imperial Russian Stout, which was a sweet high-gravity (10.8%) stout. I don't recall ever getting a buzz on a single beer until this one, and it tasted great while buzzing. Unfortunately, it's not advertised as a bar, so I'm rating it as a restaurant. I ordered the Kenmore Burger ("...A char-grilled 8 oz burger smothered in sautéed onions, mushrooms, applewood smoked bacon and Swiss cheese...") with a side of fries. My wife got the Original Chicken Burrito ("A warm flour tortilla filled with fiesta chicken, rice and cheddar-jack cheese, topped with our queso, ...") with a side of beans. The best way to describe both food choices is "meh". My burger was dry, the fries were bland, and I guess their definition of "smothered" is about 4 mushroom slices with a couple of strips of mostly raw red onion. The Burrito wasn't much better. The queso topping had a gelatin consistency and the whole thing appeared to have been prepared off-site and reheated. There was no sauce for the chips, but the beans were surprisingly good. The atmosphere and food choices are essentially identical to national chains like TGI Fridays or Chilis. As a restaurant, I would give it 2 stars. But overall, I'll bump the 2-stars up to 3 because of the beer selection. I'll probably go back to try more beers, and maybe to try the wings, but not for the regular food.

    (3)
  • Tanya G.

We were just passing through and decided to stop and watch a football game. The hamburger was amazing. The coleslaw needed more seasoning, but the hamburger made up for it. The service and the beer were very good!

    (5)
  • Deborah H.

I gave this restaurant three stars because usually it would be five due to the great cold beer and hot wings, but my last visit was definitely a one star meal. After a 20 minute wait , our server arrived with my husbands beer and a declaration that they were out of my selection. Why didn't he tell me that earlier? Then after another 25 minutes or so, he arrived with the food. Or rather, my husbands food as he dropped my plate a foot from the table. My husband had already finished his meal when my lukewarm meal arrived. Still no apology from the server. Then to top off a bad experience, we were initially charged for my dropped meal. Taco Mac- where is your management!

    (3)
  • Frank U.

I've eaten at a lot of Taco Mac's. This location is much smaller than the rest. Good food and great drink specials. Great location in the heart of downtown Chattanooga. The hostess wasn't very friendly. Not sure why someone would hire an unfriendly host at a restaurant. Maybe she should rethink her career path. My waiter was very friendly and tended to our table in a timely manner. I ate the fish and chips and it was yummy! The tartar sauce was bad but it couldn't ruin a perfectly fried piece of fish. The air conditioning wasn't working properly and it was humid inside. Other than that, great experience and TONS of beer!

    (5)
  • Rachel W.

Definitely try the wings! Lemon pepper style is really good. Tons of tv screens and great beer...decent food, portions, service could have been a little friendlier but very efficient.

  • Chuck G.

Great local pub to watch sports, have some great food and big selection of beer's. The Shrimp and Avocado salad is fantastic for a light and tasty meal and, if really hungry, go for the loaded nachos.

    (4)
  • Jacques M.

The food menu is on par with Hooters, in terms of quality and selection . It's pretty much your standard pub in terms of experience an atmosphere. However, they did have a selection of over 200 beers. Overall, I'd go back for a drink, but probably eat elsewhere.

Getting a Tow Job at Taco Mac from the chattanoogan.com December 5, 2012 Police Blotter: Downtown Parking Scam Foiled Wednesday, December 05, 2012 "Ryan Kocher told police he parked his Toyota Avalon at a gravel lot at 414 Market St. and went into a restaurant to eat. He said there were no signs at the parking spot saying it was off limits. He said when he returned to his car Carter Gross of All About Towing had it up on his tow truck. He said Gross told him it would be $75 to "drop" the vehicle. He said there was a no parking sign. He pointed to a piece of paper with No Parking written on it that was taped to a post. Mr. Kocher said the home-made notice was not there when he parked. A witness arrived to say he had seen someone run out after Mr. Kocher parked and put the sign in place. Then the wrecker went into action. Mr. Kocher, who had by this time called for police assistance, asked whose lot it was. He was told it was the manager of the nearby Taco Mac restaurant. The Taco Mac manager admitted he had put the sign up after Mr. Kocher parked and left. The wrecker driver agreed to the "drop" at no charge." Makes you want to do business with Taco Mac, doesn't it?

Excellent Beer Selection!! I only had an appetizer so I can not really comment on the food. Menu looks pretty typical for a chain restaurant.

This is a great place to go watch a game, since they have a bunch of tvs. They have good food, usually good service, and a huge beer menu. Although they are frequently out of the beers on their menu.

Nice, trendy, and newly revamped version of a restaurant that has been part of downtown for years. (We have been there many times before the remodel.) We were seated immediately and then we waited and waited and waited. Finally after asking the hostess if we were going to get a waitress, a waitress appeared. It was Sunday afternoon before a big college game and after one round of Miller Lite drafts (there were three of us) we were told they were out of Miller Lite. If we ordered bottles of Miller Lite, we were told they would be $5.25 per bottle...okay..so we ordered Coors draft instead along with food. Food was okay. They describe their chili as "award-winning" it was decent but not award winning. Ordered an original burger, the menu said your choice of cheese....we were never asked what kind of cheese, and therefore received none. Also asked for extra plate and napkins...did not receive those either. The burger was well done, as requested, but flavorless. With more training and experience, the service will hopefully improve. For now, get a seat at the bar and be very clear with waitstaff on what you expect for food. We will go back, it is modern and inviting however, we expect better service next time.

This place can be summed up pretty neatly Food is typical chain food not bad not great but it will fill you up. Great beer selection at an even better price (from a Californians perspective at least). Fun lively atmosphere. If you want a high end or mind blowing meal go somewhere else. If you want a simple meal washed down with a good drink and a fun atmosphere for cheap come here.

We took a trip to Chattanooga this weekend and decided we would give Taco mac a go. It's a typical bar scene with a decent beer collection. We ordered the queso dip with chips and it was good, the salsa was perfect and the queso was pretty good. I liked that they gave us tortilla chips and soft tortillas for dipping. I ordered the chicken burrito with black beans and it was quite the serving. I also asked they add avocado to the burrito (okay with additional cost). When it arrived it was a very large portion but my first bite was disappointing. It was dry, dry chicken, dry rice, and literally one sliver of avocado cut into pieces placed on top of the burrito. I would have preferred at the cost, they would but a couple of slices INSIDE the burrito, it's not a garnish. I was concerned I wasn't eating chicken .. it didn't look or taste like chicken. I wont be visiting again .. if I do, only beer.

The food was AWESOME. Great cheese dip and wings. Would recommend and will be going there more. The only thing I didnt like, and why I didn't rate 5 stars was because the service was SLOW. It took way to long to get simple items and the waitress didn't come around frequent enough. Other than that. Perfect

Must have more business than they need. Sat at the bar 5 minutes while the bartender yapped like a 90 yr old man on a park bench with people she knew. Left without any acknowledgment of me arriving.

Chips, salsa and queso were great, awesome beer selection!! Food was sub par though at best!! Cool place to watch a game

I used to work here, and for some reason, I still like it. Usually, I can't set foot in any bar or store where I've previously been employed because I can't stand being there anymore. But this place is different. There are two reasons to go here, neither of which involved mexican food, contrary to what the name might lead you to believe. Those reasons are hot wings and beer. The wing sauce is homemade, and it is excellent. Tangy, hot, and awesome. The wings themselves are huge too... not like the namby pamby sized ones that B-dubs serves up (though I like those too). Wings come with fries, which are lightly seasoned, and also very good. The beer selection here is probably the biggest in the area. They have around 50 on tap and 200+ in a bottle, featuring the typical American piss-water brands, the usual suspects in terms of premiums, and several others that you won't have heard of before. Service is usually decent, though not always great. Still passable. It's generally clean, and the location can't be beat.

OMG!!!! That's the only nice thing that I can think of when I think of my experience at Taco Mac. My friends and I went to Taco Mac in Chattanooga Saturday night since we always eat there in the Atlanta area. There were 8 of us. It took them a while to seat us, but we understood that since we had a large party, but it was late (after midnight) and they weren't that busy. Once we sat down, the waitress took our drink order. When she returned with our drinks, she walked away although we were all ready to order. She returned about 10 minutes later to take our order. Well after 20 minutes of not receiving our food, we were worried. So then another 10 minutes past and she said our food will be out in a couple of minutes. Well that couple of minutes turned into an additional 15 minute wait. By now we've waited almost 45 minutes on getting seated, drinks, and food. We never heard from here again. She kept looking at our table, but never came by. One of my friends went to speak to the manager and someone told him they were backed up in the kitchen. The manager came to the table and told us that there was a mix up in our order and it will be out soon. So was it a mix up or was the kitchen backed up???? Guess what, we NEVER got it. After sitting over an hour, we just walked out. We stood out front of the restaurant for a few minutes waiting on a taxi and then the manager came out and apologized and said this never happened to them. I told him we accept his apology, but I was disappointed because our waitress never came and gave us an explanation and when we tried to get her attention, she ignored us. Then he told us the food was coming and we still waited and it never came. Even when he came out, we were at least thinking he would say our food was ready and it still wasn't. I wouldn't have gone back in anyway. I am VERY disappointed in Taco Mac. Although I eat there at least twice a month in Atlanta, the Chattanooga location ruined that and I will NEVER NEVER NEVER give Taco Mac a dime!

I'm giving this one three stars, because I was actually pleasantly surprised for a chain-beer-wings place. I walked in with low expectations, we wanted something quick and close by. For you vegetarians, the veggie quesadilla was pretty darn good. The beer list is really long and Greg was happy to try some things he hadn't had before and to taste some favorites not available in our area. I had hard cider and there was actually a selection. It was nice sitting outside on the sidewalk too.

The only good thing about taco mac is the hotness of the servers. They tend to hire college kids from the nearby campus and they are usually easy to look at for the most part. The service is not great. The food is mediocre. Its called taco mac but its not a spanish themed restaurant. I have no idea why they call it taco mac. They should call it mish mash. That would be more appropriate.

We have eaten at this palce 6 or 7 times over the past four years. The food has always been good and the food hot. The cleanliness of the bathrooms could be better but we generally go during Riverbend and I know bathrooms can be hard to keep clean. Hey they at least need to try! Their beer was not as cold as it could have been!

We went here to watch the world cup, US vs Ghana. Not really the best place to watch this type of game as I'd say about 70% of the crowd was there for the game the rest were socializing, lots of walking around. We're new to Chattanooga so we weren't sure where to watch. I ordered the boneless wings and they were over sauced and the sauce wasn't that tasty. Wasn't a bad experience but there are other places I'll try next time.

Of course I had the habanero BBQ wings with copious amounts of Taco Mac Ranch Nectar of the gods. Cutest waitress at any Taco Mac location. Felt lucky that day!

I was in Chattanooga on Friday, and my friend tells me that we have to go to Taco Mac for lunch. Having never heard of Taco Mac, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I think I was expecting some kind of Mexican food, but when I looked at the menu, this was not so. The menu is pretty eclectic, but it is really nothing more than overpriced bar food. I am always looking for the next greatest fish taco ever, so that was what I decided to try. Sadly, it was a disappointment. I don't know what kind of white fish that was, but I kept burping it up over the next 8 hours(gross, I know). A really good fish taco should be made with mahi-mahi, but no one close to the east coast seems to understand this. I also wanted my fish tacos kicked up a notch, so I order a side of the "Death Sauce". I put this in quotations because at no time did I feel like the grim reaper was going to take my soul if I took another bite. Did it have a kick? Yeah, but nothing life-threatening. It had good flavor, but both the "wild" and "blazin" sauces at Buffalo WIld Wings are hotter. The best thing that I got with my meal (oddly enough) was a side of black beans. I think I was just expecting plain black beans, but it had some kind of sauce with onions and peppers in it....a nice surprise, regardless. If I ever were to come back and visit any of the many locations of Taco Mac, it would be to experience their vast beer selection on tap and watch a game on one of their numerous screens. Otherwise, it's really not worth the trip. It is nothing more than a souped-up college dive with prices proportional to the wallets of the college alums that go there for nostalgia sake. I honestly would have given this a 2 star, but the beer selection bumped it up to a 2.5.

Outstanding wings & good beer selection. In my opinion that's enough to make this a great spot, but I've also been very pleased with the other selections. Hey, I like bar food...

Skip Taco Mac and walk down to the Pickle Barrel. This place gets 2 stars because it's just so generic. Despite the unusual name, this place is basically a TGI Friday's or Applebee's: TVs showing sports, chicken wings n nachos, random nicknacks on the walls, fake old booths... The beer list is extensive, and Mike, our waiter, is a great guy. But it's not enough.

  • Dani M.

One of my favorite spots downtown to eat. I always get a hard shell bean taco and load it up with salsa. It's annoying to have to pay extra for sour cream, and if you order food without alcohol, the service isn't amazing, but nothing so horrible as to complain to the manager about. The restaurant can be cold; I wear long sleeves even in the summer, but they do have outside seating.

    (4)
  • Luke P.

The food and service were excellent. Chips and salsa were a great way to start the meal. We got the chipolte burger fries and onion rings. Cooked perfectly! The place is an awesome place to.watch .any sporting event.and the.beer selection rocks! Try local selection!

  • John R.

This is a great Sports Bar. TV's everywhere! The food is pretty good and they have a ton of draft beers. My only complaint would be the service, but it seemed like a kitchen problem and not a server problem.

  • Meredith B.

I got overcharged (trainee waitress) and lost the receipt, but they were really nice and refunded me without any hassle. Great wings too!

Typical sports bar. Good food - the standards - wings, burgers and nachos. We had the chipotle ranch burger and boneless wings. Both were really good. Tons of beer on tap. The service was really slow.

Four Stars for the beer on tap. Great beer on Tao if you like high ABV and craft beers. Food is good but so is Taco Bell Mexican. Come for the craft beer selection.

Great local pub to watch sports, have some great food and big selection of beer's. The Shrimp and Avocado salad is fantastic for a light and tasty meal and, if really hungry, go for the loaded nachos.

Definitely try the wings! Lemon pepper style is really good. Tons of tv screens and great beer...decent food, portions, service could have been a little friendlier but very efficient.

The food menu is on par with Hooters, in terms of quality and selection . It's pretty much your standard pub in terms of experience an atmosphere. However, they did have a selection of over 200 beers. Overall, I'd go back for a drink, but probably eat elsewhere.

We were just passing through and decided to stop and watch a football game. The hamburger was amazing. The coleslaw needed more seasoning, but the hamburger made up for it. The service and the beer were very good!

We went here to watch the world cup, US vs Ghana. Not really the best place to watch this type of game as I'd say about 70% of the crowd was there for the game the rest were socializing, lots of walking around. We're new to Chattanooga so we weren't sure where to watch. I ordered the boneless wings and they were over sauced and the sauce wasn't that tasty. Wasn't a bad experience but there are other places I'll try next time.

Food was decent but the craft beer options make up for it and to be fair, I've only been there once. Lots to choose from so next time I'll try something different. Staff was really friendly. Definitely a good pregame spot!

Service is pretty good, big selection of beer, and lots of big screens to entertain the locals. Overall, A-OK. Cheers!

Came in hungry and thought I'd be safe with the chicken fajita. Service was pretty good. Black beans were pretty good, although a bit spicy. The chicken was pathetic. Just the smell alone when it arrived on the hot plate was a BIG clue this was not good. The chicken and the cooked veggies were bland as hell. Had to ask for salt, pepper, and lemon...and it STILL was not good. Just really not good quality chicken plus I think it came out of the freezer and had lots of nerves in it. I tried to complain but the bartender was keepin on the positive side of things. Plenty of beer selections and lots of TVs. Good place just stay away from the CHICKEN!!

    (1)
  • Carrie Neal W.

I got overcharged (trainee waitress) and lost the receipt, but they were really nice and refunded me without any hassle. Great wings too!

We were just passing through and decided to stop and watch a football game. The hamburger was amazing. The coleslaw needed more seasoning, but the hamburger made up for it. The service and the beer were very good!

Great local pub to watch sports, have some great food and big selection of beer's. The Shrimp and Avocado salad is fantastic for a light and tasty meal and, if really hungry, go for the loaded nachos.

  • Rachel W.

Definitely try the wings! Lemon pepper style is really good. Tons of tv screens and great beer...decent food, portions, service could have been a little friendlier but very efficient.

We went here to watch the world cup, US vs Ghana. Not really the best place to watch this type of game as I'd say about 70% of the crowd was there for the game the rest were socializing, lots of walking around. We're new to Chattanooga so we weren't sure where to watch. I ordered the boneless wings and they were over sauced and the sauce wasn't that tasty. Wasn't a bad experience but there are other places I'll try next time.

I was in Chattanooga on Friday, and my friend tells me that we have to go to Taco Mac for lunch. Having never heard of Taco Mac, I wasn't quite sure what to expect.

The food was AWESOME. Great cheese dip and wings. Would recommend and will be going there more. The only thing I didnt like, and why I didn't rate 5 stars was because the service was SLOW. It took way to long to get simple items and the waitress didn't come around frequent enough. Other than that. Perfect
