After enjoying Rock City Garden we decided to have a late lunch. We do not wanted to have a franchise lunch & Yelped the area. Found this location just driving down the mountain. The place is small and unique, the service was quick & friendly. The wait seem long (been hungry) but it was worst it. Must try their Bake Beans, the best I have try in a while. Wife order their Single Burger (Tomato,Lettuce, Pickle,Mustard, Provolone, Plain Chips & Ketchup on the side). I had their Smoke Chicken Salad with Blue Cheese dressing. Our Cousin had the Smoke Chicken with corn & Texas Toast. Glad that we selected this location for Lunch & enjoy it very much.

Actually just barely missed a 4 star. I had the BBQ quesadilla and it tasted great but it wasn't enough hey I am a big boy and like to leave a place satisfied. My wife had the BBQ plate and again it was good but the sides were in 4 oz soufflé cups. It definitely left me wanting more which is exactly what I like in TV show, but not lunch. The BBQ pork was very good and kudos to the sauce maker the original version was a vinegary tangy delight and the sweet was also very good. I will definitely go back and just order more.

A once great place now sucks thanks to lack of customer service. I love the food here and have recommended this place over and over to friends. I will no longer do that. I typically frequent this place at least once a month. I have noticed the last few times a turn over in the wait staff and longer waits to be served, but still good food and friendly service up until today. I called my order in a 12 knowing that the wait was a little long, I explained that I would be dining in but was calling ahead. I arrived and sat with friends, explained to the owner that I had a call in order. The others at my table ordered. 40 minutes later their food was brought out. I asked about mine and the owner actually finally checks on it. It had been sitting one the counter for the entire 50 minutes I was there. He stuffs the cold food into a togo sack and hands it to me like he could care less and says it was sitting there the whole time. If you could care less about your product and your customers like that right out in the open... I don't want to know how lackadaisical you are in the kitchen. paid my $13.50 for 2 chili dogs, chips and a drink. They were cold and nasty as a result of the long wait. Still ok taste, but very not worth the money or time. Won't be back.

Eclectic and fun. The BBQ is really great but the place oozes character. Loved the BBQ baked potato! It is also immediately adjacent to the incline railway. A can't miss if you haven't experienced it. Take it to the top and then walk to the park that is a few blocks away. A fun couple of hours.

This place is awful. Went here on a Sunday and sat outside. They never cleaned the table off...should have left then but thought lets just try it. A customer say down at another outside table with water spilled all over it and they never cleaned the table....ok not my table...ordered the pulled chicken and pork plate and instead of telling me they didn't have chicken they gave me an unseasoned grilled chicken breast....top off the bad food and dirty table with SUPER slow uncaring service. Never will we go back

Tasty, filling food. Low key. Relaxed environment. Friendly, accommodating staff. Based on the location I thought it would be pricier and possibly bland... Thankfully not! A pleasant place to lunch after a hike.

Best part: the charming atmosphere. Service was adequate. The food was disappointing. I am from Memphis so my BBQ expectations are high. The meat was dry and the sauce was strangely watery. BBQ sauce is supposed to be thick! The baked beans were weird Chattanooga has a knack for adding green peppers to their baked beans for some reason.

Our family of five stopped for dinner on a Tuesday evening on our way home. The kids had grilled cheese and hot dogs and loved them. My wife and I shared the bbq pork sandwich and a rainbow sandwich which we absolutely loved. We also had their hashbrown casserole which is excellent. The best thing was the banana pudding though. We could have had a lot more of this! Delicious. The place is not big and there isn't a lot of parking. The location near the road up to Lookout Mountain gives it some extra charm. The food is served picnic style - paper & foam plates, plastic utensils and foam cups. It's neat and clean inside and out. We ate in the beach room which the kids liked. There are just two small dining rooms. The staff was attentive and friendly.

They have pretty good Brunswick stew and the banana pudding is also pretty good... Their bbq is not very good at all...tastes like liquid smoke!.. And their tomato soup is Campbell's with a can of tomatos thrown in... I probably wouldn't go back.

Took the incline from the top to the bottom and found this jewel! Waiter told me what I had to eat to get the best experience and he was right! Best loaded baked potato I've ever had! Covered in pork, cheese, bacon and jalapeños! If you are searching for local favorites, give it a shot!

It may not be the best quality meat, but they do smoke it. That automatically makes it one of the better BBQ joints in town. Alas, the chicken is all boring breast meat, but the pulled pork is pretty good. I like that their sauce is more tangy than sweet. I love spice but the hot vinegar slaw was way too spicy the last time we ordered it. The potato salad rocks - perfectly cooked, a little mushy bit still firm, no rubbery chunks, good mustardy dressing and plenty of crunchy celery. Totally worth a trip if you love good tater salad.

Based on the reviews, I figured this was a cut-and-dried, can't-miss, lock of a restaurant. We made it a point to visit ASAP after reading recent write-ups. We were there around lunch and just one parking spot left, which we took. Decor inside is really well done, unique, quirky, original. Every table is different. As we entered and got smacked in the face with the intense smell of the meat cooking, I was even more sure this would be a great place. Finally, a rare great addition to the Chattanooga dining scene, I thought. I went right for the pork sandwich. Wife got chili. I gave her my hot slaw that came with my sandwich. The pork was in huge chunks and was not especially tender and had little flavor. I prefer pork chopped up more finely. I emptied the bottle of their sauce on my sandwich and could not get much flavor. The sauce (only one sauce here) is thin and vinegary. It is not that good to me, but sauce is very subjective. Wife's chili was some of the worst I've ever had. Very tomato sauce tasting. Had a reddish color to it instead of brown. About a minute into our meal, my wife said, "Uh oh, what's wrong?" I told her, "I'm sorry to say this, but I'm disappointed. I knew this would be great and it just is not." She agreed. I did get the banana pudding for desert, and it is outstanding. Some of the salads they brought out looked good. Maybe there are some good things on the menu. But what we got was just not good. Service was pretty good. They give you the stub from your ticket and you bring it to the register to pay. They match up the number on your stub with your ticket from the stack of tickets by the register. You don't know your total until they ring it up. Don't like that system, either. Overall, very disappointing visit.

Good food. Rainbow sandwich and Brunswick Stew are excellent. Enjoyed their pulled pork and smoked chicken. Nice people run the place. Relaxed atmosphere.

We stopped by this place when it was closed and were disappointed, the cashier at the Incline Railway had suggested it. We came back the next afternoon and were greeted by some really sweet waitresses who were very helpful with the menu. The decor was quirky and fun and everything seemed pretty clean. My husband was really wanting ribs but was told they wouldn't be done for about another hour. He got the chicken and pulled pork meal with tomato basil soup and hash brown casserole. I got a turkey sandwich and hash brown casserole as well. My husband found the meat to be mediocre, nothing great, and the soup tasted like canned with added fresh basil. My sandwich was pretty good but the sourdough bread it was on was very dry. I loved the casserole, though. My 1 year old got the chicken nugget meal, which were just store bought, but she liked them. Her kids meal came with cookies which made her happy. I definitely wouldn't say not to go here, but it wasn't spectacular.

Consistently great food, from the barbecue and sides to the rainbow sandwich to the desserts. Friendly service. Last time I was there a couple from out of town was raving about the food and so happy they'd discovered it in their Chattanooga exploration.
