Fuji Steak & Sushi Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Went there for a lunch. I did not sit at the Teppan area or the Sushi bar. It seems when you go in, you could sit at the Teppan tables, the Sushi Bar, the regular bar, or a normal booth/table. This review is only about the regular food. I ordered the veggie spring rolls, which were tasty, but a little small. Miso soup, which was good. And a veggie bento meal with steamed rice. It was good. The negatives was the service was a little uneven. We were handed the credit card and check from another table for example. A number of servers instead of one person handling our table probably contributes to that. The other odd thing... I added the tip to my CC bill... but the final charge from the bank never added the tip. Hate to think I stiffed the servers. I like that this place seems more legit and focused on truly Japanese food and that they have Veggie options. The review might really be closer to 3.5. I plan on going back and trying again.

My husband and I go to the Chattanooga location about once a month. We really enjoy the atmosphere. The service is great. The hibachi grill was fantastic. Would recommend.

Food is great, grills are kept clean, they can be very accommodating for large parties. Would definitely recommend, one of the better hibachi places in the area.

Fuji's a fun teppanyaki / hibachi place - a great atmosphere, with the teppanyaki style "sit in front of the grill while the chef cooks your food for you and makes jokes / does tricks". We always ask for our favorite chef, JR, who for us provides the best entertainment, as well as he adds the best flavors to the food. He always considers and delivers any special requests. I had the Scallops, and spicy rice. Spicy rice is where JR takes the regular fried rice, adds some hot sauce and the white yum yum sauce and cooks it all together - Not too hot but great flavors! The only reason, for not a five star, is the soup was too watery and lacking of any flavor tonight. Other than that, we couldn't have been any more pleased with our dinner.

The place is a little dated and feels very worn. The decor is from a different era and could use a remodel. The service is great, however. They are attentive and always ready to help. The salad had a good dressing and lettuce was crisp as well as texture. The fish quality could be better. It didn't have much flavor and didn't taste fresh. Several of the rolls had too much sauce that masked the flavor of fish. The tempura batter on vegetables also was soggy.

Half priced sushi!! Yes!! A really cute and comfy place. The staff was a bit slow, but it could always be worse. I can't complain when I have sushi rolls for sale on my plate! The rolls were fresh and tasty. If I lived here, I'd go back. I recommend.

This was my go to place for sushi! I was usually the only one out of my friends who liked sushi and of course I would never go eat alone. So I always called ahead and my sushi would be done in no later than 20 minutes. It would always be fresh by the time it got to my house and seriously, my favorite sushi rolls are from them.

I just moved here from back west & by far this place has the best sushi in Tennessee. If you go during Happy Hour, you will be delighted with the wide variety of sushi dishes that are half off. The Love Boat sushi plate & AK47 roll are a few of my favorites. Also, the $0.99 cent drafts is a great way to bring in customers as you cannot even get this at many local bars back home. They also serve hibachi dishes & have a wide selection of drinks, as well as appetizers. I never thought I would find a great sushi spot in Tennessee but this is definitely one of them! Their service is on point too. I will always go back as long as I live in Tennessee.

I haven't eaten many at many hibachi/sushi restaurants in Chatt, but it kicks some pretty serious ass. It had only been open a month or so when I went, but the chef was great, and so was the food. It's slightly pricier (~$2) than others I've been to (comparing to Wasabi in Knoxville) but it makes up for it with the entire experience. For now, they get a 5-star. Hopefully management keeps this place in great shape.

This place is horrible. If you sit at the bar the bartender takes forever and serves your food cold. my fried rolls and soup were sitting out cold. Do yourself a favor and go to anywhere but here

This review is regarding their hibachi / teppanyaki lunch service. For more than a year, my mother and I would meet up here for Sunday teppanyaki lunch. And we did it every single weekend. We had our favorite waitress, as well as a favorite cook. And they made sure that every single meal was incredible. I forget the waitress' name, but our chef went by the name of "Yogi". He is, hands down, one of the most talented chefs I've ever encountered. No, he wasn't a showman who ignored the proteins so he could set stuff on fire. Instead, he talked to his guests, while paying meticulous attention to the food he was cooking. Did other chefs set more stuff on fire? Yes. Did other chefs have food that was as perfectly cooked? Absolutely not. Go there, but make sure to ask if Yogi is working.

A good looking place from the out side, as you enter there is a very nice atmosphere. Behind the hostess in the center of the restraint is a oval shaped bar. One side is a regular bar and the other side is a Sushi Bar where the chefs work, I sat at the sushi bar. I Started with The basics, tuna, yellowtail and shrimp nagiri and a yellowtail roll. It was all good, fresh with good taste. The roll was a little loose but did not fall apart. The bar tender from the other side of the bar was serving the sushi side as well, she did an excellent job keeping my drink full and checking on how the food was. I ordered a second round of sushi, more yellow tail as the first was above average, some red tail snapper and a lobster tempura roll. I was watching the chefs work and they seemed to be consistently making solid looking rolls with a good fish to rice ratio. Keeping an eye on the hibachi chefs from a distance they were doing a good job cooking but not as showy as some places I have been. Round two of the sushi, the yellow tail was again well above average as was the retail snapper. The lobster tempura roll was excellent, great flavors and sauces, well built and did not break apart. The bartender/waitress came by quickly (but not in a pushy way) to ask if I was ready for the check and offered a diet coke refill to go! Check out was fast and she was friendly with a smile at all times. If your like me and get conflicted when you see a mix of really good and really bad reviews I would say here you can go with the good reviews. Of corse your mileage may vary but at 8:30 on a Thursday the place was over half full and every thing was great, if they have staffing problems I saw no signs of them tonight and I work in the service industry and have a very critical eye.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Although our Birthday dinner proved flavorful, and all went well for the meal, things took an odd turn at the birthday song. A waiter who apparently had the IQ of a noodle, and the social grace of a blundering Mongol raider, reached around my daughter, grabbed her cake in his hand, and pulled the cake into her face, and then smeared it and the icing over her face for good measure. As I rose to have a polite word with Genghis, his ten companions wisely whisked him to a place of safety. I informed the manager of these events as I scanned the room for Alan Fundt, who never appeared. The Fuji's manager sagely asked,"what do you want me to do about it?" Not finding an easy solution which would not also win me a spot on the 11 o'clock news, I chose to leave and not return.

Horrible customer service! We called to place a take out order, and were placed on hold for 7 min. Ok they are busy, no big deal. I ordered hibachi chicken and sushi. $33!! (Insane for take out in a less than desirable location) I can understand that price if you go there and watch them play with your food for 30min, but for takeout? Insane. I said that seems high for chicken, and she proceeded to argue with me (the customer) about the price of the chicken. Then she hung up me. What kind of place treats customers like that? Fuji that's who.

The food was good, the service entertaining, bit the checkout/pay process was ridiculous with the 15% off coupon on Yelp. The server had to take my phone, (I assume to show the mgr), had to come back twice to get me to unlock it, then when she brought it back she had used it on somebody else's bill at my table. 10 minutes later, checks were straightened out, she brings me my credit card back, with the correct bill, without the 15% discount. At this point, I really didn't care, I needed to go.

No...just no. Sub par in every way. Was not a good pick for a bday dinner at all. Overpriced and awkward service, forgot several items. Pushed us to order before all guests had arrived. Just awkward.

We had a good time here tonight. We were a party of 3 who got sat at a grill with no one else at it. After a little bit they just went ahead and started a meal for just the three of us which is nice. The chef was fun. Had a good conversations with him and he let me try bouncing the egg... Food was ok. I always think these places are pricy. Not bad choice

This place is adequate for a sushi place. I've never tried the hibachi because I'm honestly just not a fan of it regardless of the location (once you see the onion volcano once you don't need to again). From what I've seen if you're into hibachi they do put on a good show. The sushi is decently fresh looking and it tastes pretty good. The big pull for this place are the prices though. They often have half price sushi and I take advantage of it on occasion when I remember.

First time was promising came back the next day mainly for the 50% off sushi deal not as much so. I will say that the service was fine. It wasn't excellent but I have had worst. The sushi was just alright but seeing as how I went back a second time it was good enough for my likings. But when I went back for the 50% off night they used rice as a filler in order to put a smaller amount of meat. Now I have had my fair share of sushi and I have seen this technique used in many different restaurants. I just find it to be cheap is all. As any sushi lover would. But I still was satisfied at the end of my meal. And I'd probably visit the place again if I was in the area and was craving sushi.

Once again, Fuji Steak and Sushi proves to be an outrageously mismanaged business. The wait staff is very rude, and barely can speak English. I have posted a photo of a particularly rude waitress. She was completely incompetent and was unable to seat customers efficiently. The restaurant's poor service can be credited to the wait staff such as herself. I strongly do not recommend this restaurant.

This is one of those rare occasions where my thriftiness is going to win out over my taste buds. The sushi special here combined with happy hour drink prices is probably the best I've ever seen. 50% off all sushi items (specialty and combos included) plus $.99 drafts or 2 for 1 wines is off the charts cheap. I was so excited by the menu offerings and by the visual appeal of the dishes, but when it came to taste, everything was bland. I know I'm in the land of meh sushi when the soft shell tempura crab is indistinguishable from the shrimp tempura, the white tuna sushi tastes exactly like the red tuna, and none of the sauces are memorable. I would recommend staying away from the regular nigeri sushi, and opting for the specialty rolls where the bland fish can hide itself among the other ingredients. 2 stars for the food, five stars for the service (at the bar) and the prices.

Ate at the sushi bar. Great value. We went on Tuesday when the sushi was 50% discounted - and they honored our 15% Yelp discount. Very good sushi and cold beer. We'll be back.

As an out of towner for work, I'm always a little scared of "sushi" places. This place was great. Great sushi and service. The bartender was fantastic. She made sure I had everything I wanted for my sushi and drinks. I can't speak for the hibachi but it looks like they were having a good time. 1/2 price sushi always helps too!

Can't beat a place that has good Yelp reviews and 50% off sushi. We ordered 6-7 rolls and were happy with all of them. It actually turned out to be more food than we had expected. Service was nice and restaurant was pretty clean and had a good atmosphere.

Always a terrific experience! The sushi here is excellent and reasonably priced. They feature 50% price specials on popular rolls Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is nice. I definitely recommend this restaurant to all sushi lovers! I have never eaten on the hibachi-grill side, but looking over, it seems to be a good time for all the guests.

This place is disgusting! Everything is dirty. The items on the table had gunk all over them. When I pointed it out the waitress, she moved it to another table, then proceeded later to sit someone down at it. The wall next to me had what looked to be dried blood smeared all over it. The bottom six inches of the wall was filthy from dirty mop water. Even the bathrooms were gross. As for the food, I ordered the lunch sushi. When it came out, it had to be the smallest rolls I've ever had. The manager said that I had the special rolls. Special was right! The restaurant has such potential. Someone has spent a fortune on decor. Too bad is lots under all the dirt. The Fuji Steak & Sushi in Hixson, TN is 1000% better.

Fuji's a fun teppanyaki / hibachi place - a great atmosphere, with the teppanyaki style "sit in front of the grill while the chef cooks your food for you and makes jokes / does tricks". The staff here is great, fun chef and attentive, friendly waiters. The food's quite decent here - For sushi, I would recommend the tuna. Hamachi is OK, but I can't say I'd recommend the mackerel. Tempura is beautifully battered and crispy - which is GREAT, ... BUT the dipping sauce that comes w/ the tempura wasn't regular tsuyu, but instead had a pretty vinegary flavor - which didn't work too well w/ tempura. The hibachi grill stuff on the menu was all great - fried rice (huuuge portion) was great Shrimp, steak, etc - you're pretty safe when ordering stuff cooked in front of you. I would probably like the shrimp/steak even more if they weren't cooked in/served in sweet sauce - so we could experiment more w/ all the difference sauces they have for dipping. In all, a good meal, fun place, I'd go back for the teppanyaki if I'm in the neighborhood, not sure about the tempura though...

Lazy employees don't keep a restaurant in business. The sign at the door says the restaurant closes at 10pm. I t was barely 9:30 when we were turned away by a probably waitress girl. When we pointed out it was way earlier than closing time she said that "sometimes they close early" I give this place six months. Pity the poor owner investor....

The food was great. The sushi was especially tasty. We had the shrimp tempura and yellowtail roll. It was very fresh and perfectly prepared. The hibachi server and chef were capable but could have been more friendly.

This is a Benihana-style Japanese steakhouse - the chef cooks and gives a show. With that said, I got entree/sushi takeout rather than dining in. The salmon teriyaki entree was grilled just right - two decent-sized pieces over fried rice and veggies (onions, zucchini, etc.). The rice was good - not too bland and not soaked in soy sauce. The veggies were slightly over-sauced. I couldn't figure out what the soup was, but it wasn't miso. The ginger salad dressing made the boring lettuce salad much better. The included California rolls were uninspiring. The additional spider roll that I ordered was pretty good. The soft shell crab was crispy, and there was a slight spiciness to the sauce.

FRESH!!! & will do custom rolls if they have the ingredients. very attentive staff. restaurant divided into 3 distinct areas: sushi bar, hibachi "show" grill, and sit down restaurant area.

This review is actually from New Years Day...I am just a yelp slacker. The boyfriend and I along with friends decided to try this place out...mainly because it was new...and opened on New Years Day. The location of the restaurant is in the building that used to be Rio Bravo (among about 5 other businesses since then). They did an amazing job transforming the place from Tex-Mex to Japanese...and this is coming from someone who worked there when it was Rio Bravo. This dining experiance started off rather rocky at best. We were seated on the side opposite of the hibachi. We had the worst service I have experianced ever. Our server...no clue what her name was...forgot our drinks (twice) and took an appetizer order from our friends and walked away without getting our appetizer order. We saw her again 20 minutes later and asked if we could order an appetizer as well. We got many huffs and eye rolls as she took our order. I was ready to leave then...but our party of 5 stuck it out. When it took another 20 minutes for her to deliver luke warm dumplings...I was more than concerned about the rest of our meal.(This is the reason for the 1 star deduction...it was actually a 5 star deduction) Soon after...we asked the host if we could move to another area where the hibachi grills were. after a couple minutes we were sitting with several other people getting ready for a great experience. We ordered a couple of sushi rolls...as did our friends...waiting for our chef. They were brought out quickly and they were so tasty! The presentation was beautifully executed...things were definitely looking up! Our new server was super friendly and refilled our drinks with a quickness. The boyfriend and I decided to split the chicken meal...and sooo glad we did! There is a splitting fee...but its totally worth it. Once the chef began his show...we knew we were in for a treat...the soup came out first...it was fresh, hot, simple and not too salty. The salad was your basic salad with fantastic dressing...perfect size too. Our meal was perfect. The portions here are huge...and even with splitting the meal...we left with tons of food in a to-go box. Our hibachi chef was quite entertaining and left us feeling great about our decision to dine here. Had we stayed in our original seats, I am more than sure the review would be a negative 5 if i could give it...but the food and entertainment once we changed seats (and Servers) made all the difference in the world. We can not wait for our next meal at Fuji...we fully plan to sit at the hibachi (and would urge everyone to do the same...unless you like horrible service)

Had lunch there today (Sunday 9/5/10) and my favorable opinion was further cemented. Our cook was also the best showman I've ever seen at one of these kitschy places. Not only could the guy entertain, he cooked everything perfectly...glad I came back!

I haven't had such horrible service at a restaurant in a long time. First of all, the bartender was a complete jerk who was more concerned with getting the blonde sitting at the end of the bars number than to give my boyfriend and I decent service. After slamming our soup and salad down like he was inconvenienced by us being there he finally took our order. I received my dinner about 15 minutes before my boyfriends. I am really disappointed because Fuji has a good atmosphere but I will NEVER go there again and risk wasting my money on a meal that is cold.

We love Fuji. Best sushi and hibachi in Chattanooga. Sometimes the show is simply amazing. Sometimes it sucks. Not all hibachi chefs are created equally. Overall we love it though.

The soft shell crab was crispy, and there was a slight spiciness to the sauce.

comfortable atmosphere, dollar sushi night Mon-Weds, occasionally offer coupons to "fans" via their Facebook page. wonderful sushi presentation. FRESH!!! & will do custom rolls if they have the ingredients. very attentive staff. restaurant divided into 3 distinct areas: sushi bar, hibachi "show" grill, and sit down restaurant area.

Can't beat a place that has good Yelp reviews and 50% off sushi. We ordered 6-7 rolls and were happy with all of them. It actually turned out to be more food than we had expected. Service was nice and restaurant was pretty clean and had a good atmosphere.

I love this restaurant! My friends and I go often for half off sushi days: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I have never been disappointed with the sushi or hibachi meals. Definitely the best place to get sushi in town.

First time and the sushi was really good! My sister and brother in law really thought it was good and they eat alot of sushi. The service was good and quit crowded at lunch time. Would really recommend this place.

The spicy tuna roll looked and tasted like it was made from canned tuna. The spider roll was good, and the service attentive.

Had lunch there today (Sunday 9/5/10) and my favorable opinion was further cemented. Our cook was also the best showman I've ever seen at one of these kitschy places. Not only could the guy entertain, he cooked everything perfectly...glad I came back!
