It is what you would expect. All the standard Mexican dishes on the menu, friendly staff, karaoke on Friday and I think Saturday also. It's get 4 stars for consistency of the latter. Plus friendly on the wallet. Cheers

We went here last Friday for lunch. The chips were bitter and tasted nasty. The salsa was good and the cheese dip was good, but hard to eat when you hate the chips. The rest of our food was pretty standard Mexican fare, but I'm not inclined to go back.

Went here by default - tried to go to four other Mexican places that were closed at 5:30 p.m. on a Saturday!! What is going on? Anyway, we ended up at Cancun. I have friends who love this place but I'd never been there. The place is a bit old and musty inside and needs a good refreshing but the service was great and the owner comes around and greets you. The food was ok. Not the best Mexican food but the rice was super good and my enchiladas were tasty. I'd go again just for the atmosphere. Love the personal touches.

This is the worst restaurant I have ever been to in my life, beef taco was worse than Taco Bell (not sure how low grade of beef you can go but these guys use it) and I don't know how to explain how awful the taco salad was. Margaritas tasted like water. Inside is old tacky and run down. Just don't go here

This was my first time at Cancun but my group of friends are veterans here as they come visit this area of Chattanooga 3-4 times a year. I will fully disclose up front that I had been cycling 100 miles in Chatt's mountains so I arrived here extremely hungry! Ok, disclosure over :) The food: I would say that the food here is very typical and competitive with low/mid priced family owned Mexican restaurants that you will find in any small town/city. Certainly not high end authentic specialty Mexican nor is it fast food taco bell etc.. I think it hits the sweet spot in quantity, quality, and value as many of these places do. I ordered the Cancun fajitas which had a good blend of chicken, steak, and shrimp. I did think the chicken was a little dry but the steak was tender and the shrimp were on the large size! Nothing special about the bean and rice sides but they were good and filling. The Drink: The only complaint from our group was of the american beer from the tap. I didn't ask if it was something funky with the tap or if it's just because it's a sucky american beer :) The pitchers of house margaritas went down fast and smooth and no complaints about my unsweetened ice tea chaser. Now to what's special about this place... "& Lounge"...... Yes this place is a lounge, it has music, and Karaoke! They have a house guitarist that is pretty good and gets even better the more you drink! The Karaoke is fun. There was a variety of music genres Country, rock, rap, kids Disney songs, you name it. Even though I was there to eat my weigh in chips, put back all those calories I burned, and party, I could appreciate the families who were up there with their kids encouraging them to sing their favorite song. I'm no country fan but I do have to say there were a couple of ladies who could sing pretty well and were very nice to watch :) So yeah, it's a lounge and people like to get loud, sing, and have fun. If you are looking for a quiet intimate dinner on the weekend you might want to find another place.

Stopped in for a quick drink. No bar. Chose Bohemia from the menu. Didn't have it. After ordering our drinks and said we didn't want food only drinks and watch the game, we never saw the waiter again. I need to add we were going to leave when we saw no bar but the hostess convinced us we could have drinks at a table. No lights in men's bathroom. It was clearly evident the place was not clean. Our table had a view of a dirty kitchen which there is no excuse for since there was only o e other patron in the place. When we felt bugs crawling on us we had enough. Time to go.

Don't really know what's up with all the haters. This place was not at all what others have been saying. Only thing I will agree on it the speediness of the food service. It definitely came out a little too fast but it was good so no complaints. Another plus to the food is that they have margaritas that range from 12oz to 64oz. And they were good. Get the Texas ones they have top shelf tequila in them. Very spacious. Go in and try for your self. Maybe I had a good night than others because the place was pretty empty but I will definitely be back...tomorrow!

Went there this evening, the place was dirty and the food was mediocre. The only decent thing was the shrimp salsa. They failed on two occasions to melt the cheese in a kids cheese quesadilla. The vegetable fajita had veggies from a frozen bag and they were not cooked. The enchiladas cheese and beef were okay, but far from hot.

Lots of potential to be good but the environment was off. Karaoke and country songs blasting during dinner. Service was very poor and they messed up the order quite a bit. Food was so-so. Restaurant is very close to me and love Mexican but won't be going back.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
