We all loved that they have a mini Vegetarian section on their menu! There are about 6 entrees for vegetarians, which is lot for any restaurant. There was 11 of us so we called in to make a reservation just 15 mins before and as soon as we got there we were seated and our table was ready. I got the veggie quesadilla with zucchini and it was pretty good, the grilled veggies flavor was great! Came with rice and guacamole on a bed of lettuce/pico de gallo. The cheese enchilada, tostada and burrito combo were good too. Very cheese for me though, so if you like that, then order this entree for sure! Overall the flavors of the entrees were great. Customer service was very attentive to our requests and needs, and the food came out very quickly! Although the chips and salsa were just 'okay'. The chips are too thick for me, and the regular salsa is spicy, so I asked for a mild version and it tasted like just tomato sauce/soup.

I should give this place a 3, but I cannot be hard on one of my local favorites. Amigo's is classic American Mexican food. You'll get exactly what you expect. Nothing fancy and nothing out of the ordinary. Great rice and taste on the 1/2 order of grilled chicken nachos, with everything. or just get a trio of chicken soft tacos. I am sure I'll be here three or four times in the next two or three weeks.

Awesome food! I've been eating here for at least 16 years and I've always enjoyed it. The staff is great and now days already know what I I'm going to order. Try the chicken chorizo tacos (comes with cilantro and diced onion)!!! Everyone should also try the tomatillo salsa and its free! Great to add on to tacos etc. The queso is amazing too. The giant 32oz cheap beer is also great. I could go on and on about their menu but ultimately everything is awesome. Oh yea, on your birthday one of the guys will sing happy birthday in Spanish and you get to choose a free desert!! The deserts are amazing too!

Amigos is always good. The Lunch menu I ordered from today has a wide variety to choose from and is very reasonably priced. My meal was $6.33 with water to drink. The service was good and server attentive even though it was a small ticket meal. I was checked on several times, asked if I wanted anything, etc. Not long ago, this location was remodeled so the interior is inviting and nicely appointed. All-in-all, if you want a good experience with Mexican food, at a reasonable price, go no further!

Fajitas are so good here. Not expensive and you won't walk away hungry! Going to try the margaritas tonight!

I love Amigos. Very fresh, delicious food. They have the best salsa and I'm super picky about salsa. Their chips are fresh and not super greasy or thin. And they have the best margaritas.

Good spot for friends and drinks in a casual atmosphere. They have a good happy hour and good queso. Chips and salsa are good. Food is okay/pretty good but not great.

If this gets 4 stars, then I'd hate to eat at a 2 star Mexican restaurant in Chattanooga. Service and atmosphere were fine, the food however..... You could randomly pick any other restaurant in this town and it would certainly be better than this place - and that includes Taco Bell, Arby's and 7-Eleven. The salsa/ketchup was, well, ketchup. The fajita vegetables tasted like they were poured from a bag of frozen supermarket veggies. In fact, I'm pretty sure they never touched a grill but we're boiled into a flavorless glob. The rest of our food, retried beans, tacos did not taste "bad". A better description would be flavorless. Shame on us for eating Mexican in Tennessee. If one were to give this place more than a two star rating, then you've never had anything close to decent Mexican food.

Enchiladas Suizas is the most phenomenally flavorful Mexican I've ever had. A revelation.

My favorite Mexican restaurant in chattanooga. There are several locations around town but the East Ridge location is the best hands down. I usually get the fajitas and my husband gets the chipotle chicken tacos which are amazing!

Poor service. Got my order wrong (chicken instead of beef). I couldn't order my food spicy, had to get hot sauce on the side. On the bright side, they have cheap beer. And maybe, just maybe, someone will eventually come by to get you one.

I ordered food to bring home to my family. But when I got home it became apparent that they left off the sides that should come with 1 of the entrees. It's a $10 entree and all we received was the meat portion???? I called to have this corrected and the employee ARGUED with me on the phone and said I didn't ask for sides, therefore I didn't receive any. I'm sorry the menu reads "with your choice of beans, lettuce, guacomole, sour cream and tomatoes" so if the entree usually has these side options but the customer doesn't specify or whatever, that is your cue to ASK the customer what they want for the sides. Don't just give them nothing and then tell them later over the phone it's their own fault for not saying they wanted it. Don't be rude to the customer when you've messed up! I quoted the menu over the phone and their defense was they've worked there 13 years and it's never been that way. That's not a compliment to Amigo's or anything to brag about. I'm attaching a photo of the 'full' order of steak nachos so you can see what quality food we got for $10. The meat was overcooked and hard and the food so cold the cheese was solid. Our home is literally 1.5 miles away, it didn't get stone cold just on the way home. I waited 30 minutes after ordering. This food was not edible and definitely NOT worth the money and time and effort spent to get it. We had a poor experience the last time we were here, it's been over 6 months since then. This was their chance to make it up to us and this is what we got.

Amigos has several locations in chattanooga and they are very well run and the quality of the food is always good. You are not going to miss if you pick one. I usually enjoy the Pollo picosso and a Dos Equis and my wife usually goes with a veggie quesadilla or a veggie burrito and a margarita and we've never had a complaint. Give one of then a try and I think you'll enjoy it.

Went here with a bunch of co-workers and we tried out a bunch of different items off the menu. Overall, the price is pretty good, but the food is nothing to scream about. It's decent for a quick bite, but didn't stand out that much for me or my co-workers.

Make sure you fast for two days before you arrive here b/c you will need all the room you can to enjoy all the delicious delights in store for you. This place will shake up your taste buds in the good way. From the amazing food to the great beer prices...it cant be beat. They usually have specials every night of the week. The service is spectacular. My favorite is the chips and salsa b/c the chips always taste fresh and the salsa doesnt taste store brand.

My fav mexican place by far. Great prices and friendly people. Lately I get takeout because it can get packed in the evenings but its always worth the wait. You'll see lots of baseball and softball teams there during the summer too.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
