After our tour at the Jack Daniels distillery, we had dinner at Bell Buckle Cafe. This place is a home style country cooking cafe with a small store & has live bands. Population of this tiny town is a little over 500. You get your neighborhood friendly, home style cooking coming here. I ordered the pot roast with mashed potatoes. The portions are good. My friend let me try his smoked pork chops. It was really good! Our waitress was a college girl and was so friendly. She was talking to us for a bit & did a magic trick on us. Very nice! They sell tees that reads " Where the heck is Bell Buckle?" I couldn't pass that up so I bought one for myself since I'm such tourist a may not be here again. This place can get crowded where you have to wait a bit but so worth it!
Every time I'm near Bell Buckle, this is where I eat! Have not had 1 thing bad yet! Great country ambiance in an adorable antique town! A must go for anyone in the area. Unless you hate good quality food and friendly service
This is just the type of restaurant I love. The cute little down-home-country-cookin' restaurant in a tiny town that may or may not even be on the map. This was almost it. The place is cute. Bell Buckle is tiny. Is it even incorporated? I don't even know. Our server was as sweet as she could be. Aside from the dessert I totally shouldn't have eaten, however, I was not feeling the food. Nothing tasted bad, nor was anything over- or undercooked. I just wasn't feeling it. Nothing was spectacular about it. We started out with fried biscuits (which, again, I totally shouldn't have had) because I have an ongoing love affair with biscuits and I thought that this was the perfect way to take it to the next level. They are basically the 'Chinese donuts' that you can find on all of the Chinese buffets across America. I despise donuts or anything that tastes like them. I had meatloaf with mac and cheese, fried okra, and tomato-cucumber salad (even more things I shouldn't have eaten), and everything was just ok. I was expecting something else from the tomato-cucumber salad. It had this weird brown sauce (dressing?) on it. My mom and my husband loved it, though, so maybe it's just me. It is still worth checking this place out. Don't let the line to get in scare you. We waited five minutes, tops, and we were there with the after-church crowd.
