First time I ate here I liked it. I must have been really hungry. This is an average Mexican- by-the-numbers joint. Some of these joints do varying things to make themselves stand out. Not this one. Not even the salsa. Room temperature, canned puréed tomatoes with some hot sauce mixed in. If there's more in it than that I'll kiss your ass. That coupled with cruddy service makes my 2nd visit the last visit.

This is my local Las Palmas and I have never been disappointed with their food or their service. I think they have some of the best Salsa in town and I am always happy with the food I order. I get the Enchiladas Ranchero most of the time because I find it very yummy. Their Chili Rellenos are awesome (one of the few places that actually takes the seeds out of the Poblano Peppers. The Guacamole is superb also.

My mom once told me that if I don't have anything nice to say to not say anything at all. I guess I didn't listen very well as I don't have anything nice to say about Las Palmas. The food is 1980s Tex Mex. It's boring, it's bland and calling it Mexican is an insult to anyone living in that country. My #8 from the lunch menu, two chicken tacos and a quesadilla, were similar to what was made in my suburban Chicago house growing up. Store bought crunchy corn tortillas in their pre-shaped form are stuffed with chicken and other toppings. It's very taco bell-ish. The quesadilla had no flavor other than being cheesy. I ordered some beans along side and didn't even finish them. The chips they bring out with their salsa needed to taste more like corn. And the salsa tasted like store bought pace brand. I was thoroughly disappointed with everything from this place. I won't be back.

I don't know why this place has some bad reviews. This is a GREAT Mexican restaurant I have been going to this one few years. I really love their lunch specials. I love the Speedy Gonzales One Taco, one enchilada with rice. I always found the chips fresh and warm......and salsa to be perfect. The service is always friendly and quick and within 10 minutes my order is ready for pickup . .I highly recommend this wonderful Mexican restaurant .

Nothing special. Your average Mexican restaurant. The Chimichanga was decent. The salads was good. Apparently that believe Guacamole is just cut Avacados. So don't order that.

Tony and I went here for dinner. I was excited. I love Mexican food and I love trying new restaurants but it was just OKAY...nothing special. I wouldn't recommend it and I wouldn't go here again. But, we didn't get ill or die...lol !!!

****RUDE, IMPATIENT SERVICE!!! Never will I go here ever again!!!! As of Sunday, August 10, 2014 my little sis checked her account and sees that Las Palmas charged here a near whopping $88 check instead of what we actually paid for, which was only $26. She called the restaurant and wanted to speak the manager on what was the issue and they just hung up on her. This place sucks! Read on to find more also, you'll wish you did. Went to eat here for lunch with my little sis around 1:00 pm, it was particularly busy when we arrived. The waiters/waitresses were rushing to clean tables and fold more silverware to the napkins. We were not greeted when we first stepped in, which is a big no no. But one of the waitresses sat us down to a booth and then we were served chips and salsa. The chips were very warm and toasty, I'll give them that. The salsa, ehhh very watered down and just like other Yelpers, tasted like canned tomato puree with added spice crap mixed in. We had a little Hispanic boy as our waiter, first he seemed nice and all but was quite impatient with us while trying to tend to his other tables. So we placed our drinks and then placed our orders after our drinks arrived. Our waiter kept saying "you guys alright" but was still rushing around with who knows what. I did not feel like I had his courteous attention at all. I can't count how many times he asked us "you guys alright". For sure over 4 times before our order came in. Our drinks were pretty low, yet he did not even ask us one bit if we wanted a refill or that he would fill it up for us. It was just... empty! So our food came in and my steak fajitas were very bland. The only good part was the guacamole and sour cream! Ha! The lettuce was disgusting! That was the first thing I noticed when our orders arrived, the lettuce was not green, just white and brown. The food was overall ok. So while we were eating our waiter as always kept passing by and asking us "you guys alright". It was really annoying. Still no refills in our cup. Funny to say that their restaurant statement was that "love our food, love our service more" something like that. And to be honest, this restaurant did not meet our expectations. Sorry Las Palmas, 1 star for effort.

This is the very first Mexican restaurant I came to as a kid. Soooo I'm not trying to be bias here but it is hard because their food is really good. Service at times can be hit or miss but overall the food is great, the prices are right, and the drinks are stout. It's a place my family has been coming to for twenty years at this particular location, so for the ratings to be so fair and only a total of ten...oh wait eleven reviews now. A little more about the food...the chips are the thin super crunchy kind. Salsa was a hit for my wife since she cannot take the heat, theirs is more on the tomato, natural fresh flavor side, not much spice. As far as the cheese dip...it's the best. It's the best...nothing more to say about that. All their entrees are good and they have every combo or al a carte items you can fathom. I have a deep passion for their hard tacos. Soo good. So check these folks out, they're awesome.

It really is pretty bad! Despite bad yelp reviews and an atmosphere equal to a double-wide, I still had high hopes. After all, they only have a couple reviews. So what's wrong? The margaritas = water downed lime green kool-aid The queso with chorizo = velveeta con hormel chili The servers made me feel like I was imposing and we were left several times with empty pitchers. We asked someone for a refill and he rolled his eyes and yelled something in Spanish to someone else and walked away. What was good? The diet coke was actually pretty darn good.

There is no reason in the world not to come eat here. Are you going to have the best meal of your life? Probably not, however; you'll probably have a very good meal. The service is this fine and the atmosphere is adequate. It is a run of the mill, casual place to eat.

A good friend of mine and I have a years long tradition of going to Las Palmas for our birthdays. Sure, there's better Mexican food in Nashville, however Las Palmas always has very friendly staff and their margaritas are big and cheap! As usual, we had plenty of margaritas, a happy birthday song and a complimentary fried ice cream while my friend wore a goofy sombrero. That's fun in my world.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
