Was in Keystone this past weekend and good food seems to be a bit hard to come by in these parts of South Dakota. Teddy's deli was a great place for lunch. I had the Jr. Reuben...they use a panini maker so, crunchy bread with gooey deliciousness on the inside? HEAVEN!!! The flavors all worked well together, the sauce was perfect and the cheese was melted to perfection! The service was good and the employees were friendly...if I return to the area I will definitely return!!! Whether you eat in or take something to go on a picnic, you will not be disappointed! 2 thumbs up Teddy's! WAY TO GO!!!

I ate here with some friends on the way to Mt. Rushmore. The food was mediocre at best. The hamburger melt tasted like a frozen burger. Way over priced for something that poor. Though the thing that bothered me most was the bathroom. If I had gone in there before I ate, I wold have left immediately. The floor was sticky and smelled like urine. Nothing looked like it had been cleaned in weeks, and there were no paper towels. I get the feeling this place relies on people passing through, not repeat business. Skip this place if you're in town...in fact, skip the whole tourist trap of a town.

Deli was ok- decent options- a bit over priced. Pleasant staff but for a turkey sandwich on a lettuce wrap (gluten free) it was $8! It's not as if the ingredients were organic or anything! I guess it's in a touristy area but I felt it was a bit over priced and just ok. Forgot to include to-go items like napkins and utensils too.

An OK option if you must eat near the park. The service was really, really slow - 36 minutes to order and receive our food, and it was not overly crowded nor was the line that long - and generally poor (they forgot both our drinks, so back to the line, and the napkin holders were empty). I ordered the Reuben with high expectations and was a little disappointed. For a food show highlight, I would have expected a much better sandwich. The corned beef was tough. Regarding portion size, the Reuben Jr. was plenty but I could have used more kettle chips.

They falsely advertise an All American Rueben sandwich 1lb!! Since there are not a lot of choices we thought, "why not?" Well, let me tell you their 1lb sandwich, which for the price of $11.99, was nothing more than 3 slices of meat. I guess being from New York, I think a 1lb sandwich means just that. If you want a 3 slices of meat sandwich for $11.99 served in a plastic basket this is the place for you. I guess the element of surprise makes it a 2-star lunch.

Good place to get decent sandwiches in a town that otherwise doesn't have many options for decent anything. Fresh, high quality meats and breads make up for slow prep time and higher prices, and service is certainly friendly enough. Just avoid the cole slaw -- a little under seasoned and over mayoed -- and ask for extra homemade chips if they are out of pickles!

Excellent. Sandwiches cooked fresh and good. Good for the whole family. Ruben is famous from the food network. Chicken Cajun melt was also great.

On our way up to Mount Rushmore, we decided to stop for a quick bite in Keystone. After a speedy Yelp check, we chose to head to Teddy's Deli. A typical sort of deli, the two big pluses of Teddy's is the homemade potato chips and the fact that they offer both hot and cold sandwiches-something for everybody. I got the three cheese melt and highly enjoyed it. At the end of the meal, it was not the most stand-out place we've ever eaten, but it sure beats the typical tourist trap food!

Everyone in the fam gave a thumbs up on their meals. The winner was the Reuben sandwich, which is their specialty. Service was great. Not fast food, and meals fresh to order, so expect to wait a bit for your order. You can enjoy some coffee or tea from the coffee bar while you wait.

It's a sandwich shop with decent sandwiches. We got the famous Reuben which was good, club was good also. Sadly, we didn't get the famous homemade chips, we got a bag of chips. Nothing at all to write home about, but the service was beyond friendly and they have pet-friendly outdoor seating.

Went here for breakfast. Great egg sandwiches and coffee drinks. Bagels and croissants are good, not like the ones from Costco that some places use. Also have cappuccino, teas, a tea smoothie, fresh lemonade.

One of the best quick service eateries in Keystone. Great variety too.

Ate here before, they used to make their kettle chips now it's Miss Vickie's not quite as good. Also, their chili was buffalo before, now it's beef. Their Ruben sandwich was still the same.

Good deli which also has chili, hot dogs, and burgers. The burgers are huge! I had a roast beef sandwich which was good. The prices were reasonable. Staff is also friendly.

The best lunch ever! I had the mini reuben and the wife had the reuben dog, both were sooooooo good, we moaned with pleasure while eating our lunch on a beautiful day outside.

Went to this place after leaving the Family House restaurant. We are glad we did. Service was great, food was fresh and a really good dining experience. If you are hungry, this is the place to eat.

This place was actually chosen by my daughter as she was in the mood for a sandwich. It was not disappointing. The service is a little slow, but that is because they make everything from scratch, including their kettle chips, which were amazing and worth the wait. I might just skip the BLT I ordered and get extra chips next time! The prices are decent and the service was great. Would definitely recommend it.

Excellent deli and great value given the location. Finding a parking spot took a little patience, but the food was freshly prepared after we ordered and the weather permitted sitting outside watching the local tourists and local cowboy wearing a 10gal hat swinging a huge whip to garner attention to a local shoutout show in a "saloon" down the street. Great food and location! Beats paying $10 for a fast food style burger fair at Mt. Rushmore. Give this a try!

The big Teddy wasn't very big and was grisly.....tough. Also the place was dirty and we had to clean our table with napkins and our shoes stuck to the floor.

Our family stopped at Teddy's based on Yelp reviews after visiting Mount Rushmore and we are glad we did. Fantastic sandwiches and my kids loved the giant Nathan's hot dogs. The Reuben is one of the best I've ever had. It was so good that we had lunch at Teddy's again the very next day. Finding decent food in a tourist-trap town is usually difficult, finding great food like the food at Teddy's is just plain rare.

We needed a place for 17 family members to eat. We saw the special of the day posted outside and it drew us in. The service was excellent and so was the food. The setting was perfect for our family.

We went here on our vacation to Mount Rushmore because the reviews were good. We got a BLTA and Chicken Cesar Salad to go. I so wanted to walk out because of the ZILLIONS OF FLIES buzzing around us while we waited, but I was so exhausted from the day that I decided to take a chance. My boyfriend liked his salad, but I unwrapped my food to find a BLT (bot a BLTA with avocado) with super greasy chips. The whole thing was so greasy and disgusting that I barely ate any of it and still got a stomachache. I was uncomfortable for the rest of the evening at the Mount Rushmore lighting ceremony. We should've walked out.

Yummy sandwich! We ordered the Great American Reuben and split it. It was delish. There were chips involved. The folks working there were genuinely nice and split the lunch for us at no extra charge.

Terrific sandwiches! Pricey perhaps, but made to order and always fresh. Try the pastrami with special sauce. It's called a teddy something. Great flavors!

Very good! We were a little apprehensive about eating in Keystone but heard Teddy's was famous for their Reuben's so we gave it a try. The employees were extremely friendly and we split their 1 lb Reuben sandwiches. Sandwiches were great and LOVED the homemade chips! Very quick service, plenty of space to sit, and great prices. Child friendly (hot dogs) and also a good vegetarian sandwich. Parking is available next door for $5.

After being on the road all day, we were tired and hungry, and wanted nothing more that a good meal once we arrived in Keystone. So we looked at reviews on Yelp and Trip Advisor and found that Teddy's Deli was highly rated. However, our experience was MUCH different from what others have reported... The guy who took our order was great, but our experience went downhill quickly from there. We noticed that the place was full of flies, and that the food prep area was dirty. Having a little fun at work is one thing, but the staff who were making the food took it way too far and were behaving obnoxiously. Their aprons were filthy, and they were goofing off the entire time while preparing food, making chicken and turkey sounds. Try making those sounds without spitting all over the place. Unprofessional, and gross! The one guy even got down on the floor while goofing off (see photo), and then got back up and went to work on preparing the next order without washing his hands. That was the last straw! We walked out without finishing our meals, completely disgusted. They need someone like Jon Taffer to step in, fire everyone who was working that night, and clean the place up. We're still so revolted by the conditions we found at Teddy's that we're considering submitting a complaint with the health department.

Very good deli-quality sandwiches - recommend! We enjoyed the BLT, grilled cheese, NY pastrami, and tuna salad; all were satisfying. We especially appreciated riendly server Tyler, who gave us his local recommendations for activities, which were perfect for our family - thanks Tyler!

Food would get 3 stars, but staff was great, so it gets 4. They offered to make a veggie wrap without cheese so it would be vegan-friendly. They even allowed me to read the dressing ingredients so I could determine it to be safe. But we're talking a flour tortilla, lettuce, tomato, peppers, black olives. Chips were not vegan friendly. Nothing to write home about, but I was happy to find anything to eat in this land of meat :)

This place was pretty good. I wouldn't say that it was great or even very good but it was pretty good. I got their soup of the day which was decent and a roast beef melt sandwich. Nothing spectacular but a good sandwich none-the-less. The staff there were nice and friendly. We stopped here in a pinch because we couldn't find anything else open in SD on the way from Deadwood to Rushmore. If you are in the area I would recommend this but in comparison to the best places I have eaten at it does not stack up.

We stopped here for dinner before heading up to Mount Rushmore for the lighting ceremony. My husband had the Nathan's dogs, and I had the three cheese melt (grilled cheese). The prices were decent, and they made their chips fresh. The staff was friendly, and I would go back.

Very friendly staff. I didn't care for the quesadillas. I thought they were a little salty and the chicken looked like the kind you buy premade in a grocery store, but ate some of my daughter's grilled cheese. Best ever.

Stopped here while on the way to Custer. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. Prices were reasonable considering the location. Reuben sandwich was very good, although I prefer less dressing. Highly recommended.

Fantastic Reuben and perfect potato chips. These folks know their way around a sandwich. We took ours to go, though, because they had the doors open and there were too many flies inside.

Very pleased with our lunch here. Had to wait a few minutes for our sandwiches but it was totally worth it.

BEST grilled cheese I've ever had!!!!! I'm vegetarian, and I have probably two grilled cheeses a day, so this is a really big deal!!! My mom had a ruben and really loved it. Great service, and they were the only restaurant open downtown after the 9pm Mt Rushmore show. Will definitely be coming back here!!!!

Eat here! Food was fantastic, service was super, and the prices were very reasonable. Best grilled cheese ever!

My daughters would agree with the best grilled cheese comment, "this rocks!" was the comment. My pastrami and my wife's Cajun chicken melt were excellent as well. Go see Mt. Rushmore in the morning and have lunch here.
