I couldn't agree with Anita P more. In an area of where do can drive miles without seeing a gas station or anything other than beautiful rolling hills dappled with various crops, Club 27 is an oasis. We went clubbin' tonight and glad we did. Good strong Kettleone and sodas, nothing fancy iceberg salad, and a freshly cut filet with a baked potato - what's to complain about. Sure, you could tweak it here or there to make this more of a culinary delight, but that just wouldn't be right. Take this lovely little place untouched by gastronomy and enjoy it in its unspoiled splendor. It's down home good. We must have lucked in on a good night because the twin sisters who work the floor provided prompt friendly service. We tried the filet, rib eye and sirloin and most preferred the rib eye.

I would give it two stars if it weren't for the fact that they are open late and may be your only dining option. Service was sketchy. Salad was iceberg served with a clump of dressing.

Hey! You're in the middle of South Dakota so don't be so picky! Anyway, after reading a couple of Yelpers, we had an early dinner at this place, as it was right across the street from the Rodeway Inn. Seemed to be the place to be, as there were quite a few locals. Food was what you'd expect: lots of meat and burgers. I had a sirloin steak dinner for $19--not bad, if you don't mind steamed (not baked) potatoes and sour cream in a little plastic tube. Service was cordial and efficient.

Great atmosphere, workable food for a non-red meat eater. The shrimp is tasteless, but the grilled cheese is good and salad bar (Friday and Saturday) has fresh fruit--cantelope, watermelon, grapes and strawberries tonight.

When trucking through South Dakota at 8:30pm, your dining options are pretty damned limited. Put this place on your list. You won't find it unless you're actively looking for it, but it's a solid bet. Not fancy, not gourmet, just solid, basic food. My companion and I both ordered the 14 oz rib eye. The meal started with a basic iceberg salad, most likely from a bag (the red cabbage and carrot shards were a giveaway.) The lettuce was meh, but the salad dressing was rather tasty -- my blue cheese dressing had numerous chunks of blue cheese. Chunks of blue cheese make me happy. The steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare. I don't believe that the steak was seasoned before it was put on the grill, because it definitely needed salt and pepper. That's not really a deal-breaker for me -- I can always add seasoning, but it's hard to fix a steak that isn't cooked correctly. This was. The steak came with a baked potato and roll. The potato was ok, nothing to get excited about. I would have prefered real butter to margarine, but whatevs. I had a steak to focus on .... The roll was a bit weird. I'm pretty certain that they took a bakery roll and tossed it into the deep fryer. If you're going to deep fry bread, can we at least do it in butter? The taste of deep fryer vegetable oil doesn't do much for me. I agree with another review that this seems to be a place frequented by locals, but the service was good and the atmosphere welcoming.

Dear people of the world, when you are driving across the USA and you need excellent food with warm and efficient service, GO TO CLUB 27 IN KADOKA!!! I had the prime rib sandwich, which was the special that night. It was... PERFECT! Tender prime rib on a garlic bread grilled hoagie with au jus and steak fries. YUM! After 14 hours in the car, this was exactly what I needed. I almost cried. The woman who was our waitress was really warm and welcoming, even though we were just passing through and it was clear that this was a locals spot. Don't let the "locals hang-out" scare you off... the locals in Kadoka are really nice people who welcome strangers (at least the people we sat next to at Club 27). It's not like walking into a bar where the locals shoot daggers at you and begrudgingly take your money. This seemed like a great family-run business who knew their clientele. They knew what people wanted and they cooked it right... and what I'm talking about is steak, steak, prime rib, burgers, and steak. My sister had the 8 oz. sirloin and was IN HEAVEN. Baked potato and a basic iceburg lettuce salad with Italian Dressing. Not fancy. Just excellent. What would push this into a 5-star review? More veggies on the menu. If I could've ordered steamed broccoli instead of fries, I would've been preaching out the window to the cars heading east. BUT - you have to know your clientele. If most people aren't going to eat beans and snap peas and broccoli and it's just going to go bad in your fridge and lose you money, then serve fries. And maybe that was the case here. In all, a VERY HAPPY experience and two VERY THANKFUL sisters on a VERY LONG drive. Thanks, Club 27!!!

Mastery of the fry-a-lator arts showcased. Eclectic salad bar, very good... lots of fresh fruit.

I'd recommend stopping here if you're going across South Dakota. Pretty good food. Prices ok. Kids ate too. Kiddo didn't eat pancakes (he's a snob), but did eat other kid's chicken nuggets.

I have to admit, I was not expecting much when I stopped in Kadoka on my road trip home from the West Coast. But this place was actually quite nice. My father and I were going to eat at the "Happy Chief" which is very convenient to our hotel but it had closed by the time we went over there. The guy working at our hotel suggested this place. I had the prime rib, which is served on Fridays and Saturdays. It could have had a little more seasoning but other than that was very good. I also had the sweet potato fries which were very good. My father had the chicken fried steak, which he seemed to like quite a bit. The service was friendly and prompt, and it looked like they had live music there sometimes, tho it was not there when I was. It also looks like this may be a spot the locals go to eat which is always a good sign. The plates and utensils were a bit old maybe, but they were clean, as was what I could see of the entire place.

Not bad... for the middle of nowhere. Seems like they're the only place in town that offers a bit of the night life in the area too. They had a small, lazy bar and what seemed like a dance floor in the corner. Overall, our food was fine, the service was decent and it seemed like the best choice in town. The prices ranged from standard fare to the more expensive steak dinners. My cheeseburger was good and we had some pretty tasty deep-fried pickles and cheese curds too.

Food came in large servings, but was very fried. Not a lot of options in town, so we were happy to find something open.
