I was fooled!!! Really.... How does this place have some 5 star reviews.... The price is about the same as most BBQ places but the quality of the food was LACKING! Please see my picture... The Brisket.... Let me see.... I felt it was more like pulled beef instead of brisket. It lacked anything to do with a smoke flavor and crumbled when touched as if it were sitting in a hot bath of its juices for way to long. I can make crockpot beef and get a better result. The Turkey... I guess you can call it turkey? Seemed like a sandwich meat turkey breast that they might have smoked for a little bit. Processed turkey with smoke is not BBQ. It had some weird middle layer that was more gelatinized turkey then actual turkey. This place lacks everything, but the BBQ sauce, that stands for BBQ. Please people, try real BBQ and go elsewhere. I guess the only positive I would have to say was free ice cream, but that only goes so far. The service was good, I guess to things....

Third visit in a row where the drive thru took more than 20 min and the order was wrong. This time I finally went in and had my order corrected. But with cold food. I guess even getting the order was a big leap. I just expect more at their prices. I'm never going back.

I have worked in restaurants most of my life I am 55 years old . And never not one charged for water. I ate at dickeys had a small sandwich and water almost $7.00. Charging for water , self serve water is just RUDE Never again

Really good BBQ, especially for a chain! Good, fast service and reasonable prices. We have had Dickey's at this location and in Lexington, SC and both were really good.

I was underwhelmed. With all the BBQ places available, this one was comparatively okay, but nothing stellar about it. The only reason I would return is because it is convenient.

Dickie's BBQ is a chain/franchise operation based in Texas, so it's Texas Style BBQ for the most part (every plate is served with pickles and onion slices, Texas style). I have eaten here before but it had been a while. While they have pulled pork I prefer their brisket, either sliced or chopped, it's a real winner. They also have ribs, chicken, smoked polish sausage, spicy sausage links, and now Virginia Ham. They have 4 sauces to chose from, 2 are in squirt bottles on the table, Carolina style mustard based and Texas style tomato based. They also have on the condiment bar heated sweet sauce and heated spicy sauce, again Texas style. The sides are excellent, I especially like the green beans with bacon, sweet potato casserole, potato salad and baked potato casserole. And after you're completely stuffed you can enjoy free soft serve ice cream at no additional charge! This is a place I will visit again and I recommend you give it a try!

The service was GREAT!!. Great food and pleasant atmosphere I asked for a special meal prepared my way, and they said NO PROBLEM, we can do that. While we were eating the cook came to our table and told us he had made a sample of the dish for himself and was quite impressed also. We had visited other locations in other states and the service and food was the same. Just plain good customer service, great food, and reasonable prices. Could not ask for more!!

The franchise owners of this place need to drive up from Texas and see how this place is running. I had previously joked about Dickey's not being the best BBQ in Texas, but I drove 30mins to them today with the hopes of getting served a decent order of BBQ brisket. This Dickey's doesn't offer lean, moist or cutters choice as an option when ordering brisket. They don't carry the same beverage choices as the the locations in Texas. No Mexican coke, no big red soda. The brisket they served me today would get someone fired back in Texas. The brisket was over cooked and dry. It instantly turned from a few slices to a pile of shredded beef in two seconds. I threw out more then I ate. Which sucks because Beef BBQ around here is hard to find.

We decided to give them a shot back in January, since we live right across the street from this location. We were really hoping it'd be a good experience because we're always looking for new restaurants to try. Variety is something Greenville definitely lacks, in my opinion. We went in with our free drink coupons anticipating a good experience. We got two BBQ plates and even with our free drinks the total was still $35+. The service was okay and the staff friendly, but that's to be expected in a new restaurant where they tend to over-staff at the start to make sure things go smoothly. The meal was just bland, the BBQ really had no taste and the portions were small, especially for the price. Tried to use some BBQ sauce to make it all taste better, but that wound up making it worse. In the end, we would up leaving very disappointed and haven't returned since... and have no intention to. From the looks of things, others must have the same opinion because there's hardly anyone there. Bottom line, I don't think these guys did a lot of market research when they decided to place one of these restaurants in our area. I understand they may be a successful chain elsewhere - but not here - not where we know what good BBQ really is.

Good food. Kids love the pickle bar and the free ice cream. We have taken out meals for tailgating from here, just perfect.

I'm originally from Greenville, SC so when I came down from Boston and discovered this restaurant...I was thrilled! This is a fantastic BBQ. The staff was friendly and portions were more than plenty. I highly recommend you try it out!

There is way better BBQ available in Greenville. I've been to Dickey's twice, and my second (and last) visit was today. The first time was a while back and it was OK, but today was not great. They got my order wrong (serving coleslaw instead of potato salad) but I should have kept the coleslaw- the potato salad's potatoes were much too hard and the whole thing tasted pretty sour without much other flavor. The green beans were nothing special either- and I'm not sure what you have to do to bacon to make it turn completely black. The meat portion I was served was pretty fatty. I paid $9 for their smaller plate and a drink, which is very expensive for unremarkable tasting BBQ and poor sides. The bottom line is, I walked in satisfied and walked out with a frown. Greenville has many BBQ restaurants, so you shouldn't have any trouble avoiding Dickey's and still finding the style of barbecue you like, and it will likely be at a more reasonable price.
