I am a Thai purist, but the Pad See Eu at Pad Thai not only rivals, it beats the Pad See Eu at Basil in downtown...and for half the price. The food is amazing, the place is always clean, the prices are unbeatable, and the wait staff are very accommodating. The Thai across the street in the old Sweetwater building is a relative of the owner of this Thai place, trying to outdo the original restaurant and put it out of business.

Boyfriend and I go here at least once of not twice a month. We love the food here. The place is small, but nice. They started serving wine and beer recently. The Thai spaghetti is a absolute favorite, spice 4. The fried wontons are out of this world yummy!!! The duck curry is insane good, spice 5. Bc its a little small, there may be a wait on some of their busier nights, but its worth waiting for a table, or even getting it to go. Definitely some of the best homemade Thai around.

Best Thai in charleston is found in downtown Summerville. Real Thai chefs. Something no other in charleston can claim! Try anything always good but my favorite is green curry

I recently tried Pad Thai 1 and it was delicious! The pad Thai was the best I have ever had! I would very much recommend this restaurant!

I LOVED this place! We had chicken pad see-u, pork basil, and chicken sauté, all were superb! Especially the pad see-u !!! I'm from Berkeley, ca so all the food is pretty authentic there, and this went to my standards and above with superior and friendly service! Small and family owned, family atmosphere, fast service and you can hear them searing up the pans so you know it's fresh! This will be our go to thai place!

I've been here several times and have never had a bad meal. Close your eyes and point to something on the menu. It will be delicious. Very friendly staff, always smiling. Place is very small, but cozy. Enjoy the train that comes by and shakes the entire restaurant.

I loved this place! Very small and cozy. I lived the spicy smell in the air! The staff was very nice and the food was excellent. I will definitely be returning!!

We had our anniversary dinner here last night and we were stoked because we didn't know a Thai restaurant existed that close to us. We used our Waze app and found this place with ease. It's a very small, quaint restaurant and we were actually the only patrons there since we got there around 530pm. Our server was very nice and the wait time to get our food wasn't long at all. We ordered the Beef Salad and Duck Salad as starters. The Beef Salad was amazing!! The beef was very tender and the spices were just right! The Duck Salad was very flavorful and I loved how there were pineapples and cashews in it, it definitely gave it some taste and texture! For our main courses, we ordered Pork Pad Thai, Chicken Pad See Eu, and Beef Fried Rice. The Pad Thai was the best I've ever had, so I'll definitely be ordering that again. The Pad See Eu was ok, didn't really have any flavor to it and I wished they used the thicker noodles instead. The Beef Fried Rice was pretty good as well. The price was fair considering the amount of food we got. We'll be definitely coming back again!

My girlfriend and her boyfriend took me to lunch at Pad Thai yesterday for my birthday. I've never had Thai so when we were talking about lunch spots, I was all over trying some Thai cuisine! Right across the street there's another Thai spot we might eventually try but I picked Pad Thai because overall the reviews were better. We ordered fresh basil rolls as an appetizer. It's fresh veggies, rice vermicelli noodle and shrimp in rice paper which is kind of odd but I enjoyed it, plus healthier than a fried roll. It came with two dipping sauces, house peanut sauce and basil sauce. All three of us preferred the house peanut sauce. I ordered the pork pad prik, heat level 2 heat. My girlfriend ordered the Chicken Ong Bok and her boyfriend ordered the Drunken Thai Spaghetti, level 3 heat. I LOVED my food and got to taste theirs. All of it was so delicious, I'm not sure what I'll order next time I go! I'm sure whatever I pick, there's a good chance it'll be VERY tasty. As far as the heat levels, if you enjoy and appreciate a little kick, you'd be safe to start with level 2 and decide from there if you want more or less for your future meals. And yes, if you eat here once you WILL want to return. The bill for 3 lunch entrees (not sure if cheaper than dinner entrees) and the appetizers and 1 sweet tea came to just over $35 before tip so not pricey at all! The portion sizes are sufficient to leave you satisfied too. My first experience with Thai food was wonderful.

Awesome hidden spot the husband & I found on the way back to Charlotte. So thankful the Yelpers helped us out again!! Both entrees were cooked perfectly & the soup was excellent!!

Great food at this place. A little pricey, but well worth it. They have beer and wine now and you can get beer to go, but you pay table side price even to go, which is ridiculous. All in all, a great place to get take away.

Tried Pad Thai 1 for lunch date today with my hubby. He had tried it a couple of times while I was out of town visiting family and raved about his experience there. We shared the Fresh Basil Rolls with Shrimp, Pad Prik with Pork and Pad Woo Sen with Pork. Service was very quick and efficient. The restaurant is clean and neat, if a little small. Our server was warm and genuine. We really felt comfortable and warmly welcomed by all the staff. The food was delicious. We are big Thai food fans and this ranks high on our list. You can choose the level of spiciness you'd like. I am not much of a spice fan and didn't exactly understand the star rating system for level of spiciness. I initially thought a "4" wouldn't be that spicy, but the server and my hubby talked me off the ledge and we settled on a "2". Even at a "2", my dish was almost still too spicy for me. So if you are looking for an authentic Thai hot you will definitely find it here. Their rating goes all the way to "10 stars". I can not even imagine. I am sweating even thinking about it!! Even with the heat, the flavor and delicate nuance of the dishes still rang through. We were pleasantly stuffed afterwards. The noodles were well flavored and not dripping with oil like some Pad Thai and other noodles dishes I have tried elsewhere. The sweet tea was perfectly sweetened and brewed just like a good Southern hostess learns to make at her mother's side. We can highly recommend this restaurant. So happy to finally have Thai food in our area. We still love our other Thai options, but are eager to try more yummy offerings from our newest Summerville food find.

I love having this place in Summerville. I went here three times in the span of two days recently & loved everything I ordered (pad thai, tofu basil rolls, basil eggplant). In addition, the service was speedy & friendly every time. I look forward to returning & working my way through the menu.

This is a good little Thai restaurant...and I do mean little. I went there for lunch with some coworkers the other day and I think we took up one of maybe 6 tables in the entire place? The food is good, although a little more expensive than most folks want to spend on lunch, but that is typical of Thai fare and if I'm really craving some, I don't mind. Everything comes out hot & fresh and I have never seen anyone upset with the food. Service is excellent. The only small hits against this place are the small space, and the closet bathroom that you have to basically walk through the kitchen to get to. On one occasion, I was convinced that boxes of napkins piled high to the ceiling would fall on me if I bumped them while navigating the small hallway back to use the facilities. I really don't consider this a star-remover, because I like my food spots to be a little edgy. Keep up the good work.

Hubs had the Beef Pad Thai and loved it, I had the Prihk King with chicken and it was delicious! I preferred it over the same dish at Basil. The chicken was super tender and red curry had a great amount of heat. Also had the crab wontons and they were pretty good! Very reasonably priced! Only complaint was that the Diet Coke didn't have enough syrup and if we would have asked for them to change it out I'm sure they would have without hesitation but we got there late and I didn't want to hassle them with it. Super tiny place and we had great service - can't wait to go back!

Great little restaurant. My husband had Pad Thai with chicken. I had Green Curry with tofu and Thai tea. Both entrees were spot on. The thai tea was so delicious that I couldn't put the cup down! Like vanilla and coconut ice cream. We fell in love with this cute little restaurant. They were so welcoming and accommodating with my celiac (gluten free diet). We'll definitely be back often.

It's a small restaurant, seating capacity estimate 20, maybe less. I went right before closing. I love Thai and travel professionally. It's a great little Thai place... for a small town known for Sweet Tea. Parking is on the street, plenty of it. Across the road from the train tracks. Had the chicken pad Thai, since beef costs extra. It's awesome they let you choose spice level. I'm cajun, but when I go to a new place, I always go medium. Same for steaks. Sadly, at medium, not enough heat for me. Filling though. Would be 5 stars except it's just a bit too pricey for what you get.

So yummy! The basil rolls were great and I'm not a big fan of basil rolls because I always find the rice wrapper chewy, but these were good and there wasn't that big ball of rice wrapper on the end. Good portion size. Hubby had Pad Thai and wasn't able to eat all of it. I had the Pad Prik and it was so good. Weren't sure how spicy it would be so I ordered a 1 and probably should have went with a 2. My 5 year old enjoyed the chicken satay and ate all but one little piece. Our waitress was busy but very attentive and our glasses never ran empty. My only complaint is the dining area is a little small and cramped, they could definitely use a bigger space. Definitely will be back.

Pros: cute, quaint, food made to order! You can choose the spice level! I ordered the tom Kha gha soup and it was brought out in a bowl by a grandma! I love the family atmosphere! I've had take out and dined in and each time one it was a pleasurable experience. The serving sizes are hearty, veggies fresh, and the meat is real and fresh! You have no doubt that you are eating real chicken breast, white meat pork, fresh shrimp, and real beef! I'm now in love with Thai food and everything I've tried has been great! My favs are the basil eggplant and drunken Thai spaghetti! Cons: super tiny place, can't accommodate large groups, I heard the bathroom was in an awkward place but I've never used it

I wanted so badly for Pad Thai 1 to be my go-to Thai restaurant. But as you can guess from the two stars, dear reader, it will not be my go to Thai restaurant. I ordered a Tom Ka Gai, and Pad See Eu "Thai spicy". Neither of them had any spice at all. I was in a hurry so I ordered my food takeout, which meant that once I got it home it could not be altered by the restaurant's kitchen. So a word of advice to the restaurant: When someone orders something for take-out it needs to be exactly right, because when they get home they will be heartbreakingly sad; as I am now. The Tom Ka Gai soup is supposed to be a creamy, coconut milk infused, chicken hot and sour soup containing; lime juice, kafir lime leaves, thin slices of galangal ginger, lemon grass, and Thai chilies. my soup was a chicken broth-based and coconut milk mixture, containing chicken and cabbage- with a few sad, wizened up mushrooms thrown in for good measure. It was neither hot nor was it sour. It got thrown away. The Pad See Eu (which I ordered Thai spicy as I mentioned above) was just a sad mass of noodles with a few vegetables and some greasy fried tofu thrown in. It honestly had no flavor at all. I think it was more Pad See "EW!": It has been thrown away as well. I am very sad, because I wanted to love this place, and it has so many good reviews that I was sure I'd be leaving a 5 star review too. I think people in Summerville are just way too impressed with ethnic cuisine, and don't really know the good from the bad. I read several reviews that said Pad Thai 1 was authentic Thai cuisine. I was on a 6 week chef exchange in Thailand, and Pad Thai 1 is about as authentically Thai as my lily white ass! I won't be back to Pad Thai 1... Gosh I'm hungry!

We got takeout from Pad Thai 1 last night. This was the first time we had gotten anything from here and I was going off the recommendation of a coworker. Needless to say we were not disappointed. Located right off of Main Street in downtown Summerville, the quaint little restaurant is small on the inside, but delivers huge flavor. We ordered the Basil Rolls, Basil Chicken, and I had the Red Curry Chicken. They go on spicy scale of 1-5, 5 being Thai hot. My wife got hers as a 1 and it still had a little kick. I got mine as a 4 and it was hot, but not as hot as I wanted so next time I'll try a 5. The Basil Rolls were delicious, and my wife's meal was very good. She let me try some, and I was very impressed. My Red Curry Chicken was awesome. The serving sizes were perfect and the flavor of the dishes were great. We will definitely be going back! Highly recommended!

If you're looking for good Thai food you need to check out Pad Thai I. This place is awesome. I love their chicken pad Thai, but honestly the whole menu is great. If you want to eat in, there's a few seats in their small front of house, but it's cute and cozy.

Pad Thai and Drunken Thai Noodle was good. Great customer service, greeted me as soon as I walked in. I was driving by and decided to get takeout. It took maybe less than 10 minutes from the moment I ordered and got the food.

Ate here with a friend on 01/01/2015 and enjoyed the Masaman Curry dish with tofu and extra vegetables. Curry was delicious with just the right amount of spice and flavor, broth wasn't too thin or too thick. Jasmine rice was good. My friend order pad thai, of which I sampled. It was good. My friend ordered the shrimp stuffed with chicken appetizer, which she really enjoyed, but her daughter was a bit picky about.. considering her age. Staff was friendly enough. I would eat here again and try other dishes.

Best Thai food I have had since being in country. Highly recommend it is worth the drive. Great service too! The dining room is small though and only seats about 15. Wish I could take this place home with new!

actually 4.5 Small clean hidden away place . Family rum with Mom in the kitchen for my second visit. I had a duck salad and have no clue of the menu name. A complete and filling winner as a 7.95 lunch.

Hands down the best thai restaurant in the low country. Typical menu with usual noodle dishes and curry. What separates this restaurant from all others is it's authenticity. You are also able to adjust your spice level from 1 to 5. I would say the only downside to this restaurant is the side. Seats about 16 at the most and 1 server on the floor. So it doesn't take much for it to get busy. You can always get it Togo, the food will still be amazing.

We LOVE this Thai restaurant! Always have a great meal and leave with leftovers. For appetizers, definitely recommend the spring rolls and crab wontons. Dinner: garlic chicken is to die for, and the traditional pad thai is fantastic. Hubs has tried the curries but usually comes back to the pad thai. I also enjoy the thai custard and sticky rice for dessert - fantastic! The only cons to this place is the very limited seating and the flat sodas (I believe they have hot cans that they pour over ice...). But the food is phenomenal. I understand that they are related to Tasty Thai downtown - our other favorite Thai restaurant in the area - so we were ecstatic to find this one so close to home!

Delish! Friendly service and yummy food. I had red curry chicken and hubby had pad Thai. Both wonderful. This is a tiny place, about 5 tables so I'm sure it's packed at lunch time. We'll be back.

This is a stop conversation dinner, once it arrives you just power through until it is done. My girlfriend hates rice but ate all of hers to soak up the sauce. Everything is cooked perfectly by chef cha, who gets flavors balanced and the heat levels exactly as you order. I have only had a few Thai meals since returning from Bangkok, and this is the first meal I have had that blew me away and reminded me of my time in Asia. Be prepared to wait a bit for the food, as its cooked one at a time so it may arrive one or two at a time at your table so a party of 6 may have a gap between the first and last dish arriving. But it's worth the wait.

Today was our second visit and, as before, the food was superb. The attractive young lady who answers the phone and greets guests is just as friendly as she is beautiful, and engages you with her warm smile. The Basil Eggplant was ordered with Medium Heat and was exactly as anticipated. The quantity and quality was first rate...there will be leftovers tomorrow. My wife, who likes things less spicy, had the Mixed Vegetables with brown sauce and this dish was also superb, with plenty left over for tomorrow. The cost of the two meals was around $35 and was well worth it, especially considering that it will make four meals, counting leftovers. The place is small, with only several tables, which were filled, since it was Friday night. My takeout order was ready when promised, with no waiting. I would give this restaurant my highest recommendation!

Food was great tonight and hit the spot just right. We had the Green Curry (5 Star hot), Pad Kee Mow (3 Star hot), and Drunken Spaghetti (2 Star hot) (see picture). Everything was prepared right and tasted fresh. So glad this place is here. Sometimes we go to Tasty Thai and Sushi in Mount Pleasant (owned by same family) and this place is every bit as good! Wish there were more non - chain ethnic food delights like this in Summerville.

Ok folks if you are looking for a hidden gem in Summerville look no further. This is little place tucked away on a side street that serves amazing food. We went with a group of 12 and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. Gift was our server and she was on top of her game and quite helpful. I enjoyed some pad see euw with beef that was rockin!!! The only drawback that I saw was the limited beverage menu. You have to give this place a try....your stomach will be happy:)

Finally Summerville has a Thai restaurant! And it's not just good, it's great. The flavors in all the dishes we've had are perfect Thai. My faves: their pad Thai has just the right amount of sauce and the cashew chicken is full of flavor. The atmosphere is cozy. It's a small staff so when they are busy, service gets a little slow but everything is worth the wait!

Food is fantastic! Fresh veggies, lots of flavor and portion sizes are great. We had the Red Curry Duck, Basil Eggplant with Chicken, Fresh Basil Rolls. Yum! I own and operate the Bonefish Grill in North Charleston. These folks did a great job! Good food and highly suggest it. Will be back.

Great place. Friendly staff. Quiet when we went in for a late lunch. Had the Satay Chicken app and Pad Thai. My spouse had the Basil Chicken. Both very, very good. I picked up a take out menu on the way out. This restaurant is definitely going to be on my list of go-to's from now on. Give this place a whirl if you like authentic Thai cuisine. Oh, and they cater to all spice levels on most entrees.
