The pizza here is great! Service, however, is quite slow. We have gone three times when there has only been one server for the entire restaurant. At one tome, one other lady, wearing an Anytime Fitness shirt, kept walking in the kitchen and right back out the door without helping in the restaurant. I'm not sure what was going on there or if she was even a server. The only time we have ever received good service was when a dark haired lady, older than most of the others, waited on us. She definitely hustles to make sure all the tables have what they need. The pizza is delicious, so we return and put up with the lacking service.

Very good pizza! I am a big fan of the Mediterranian, but I get a side of marinara on the side. What can I say, I like me some sauce. All the pizzas here look great and the salads don't disappoint either. I'd definitely recommend the Greek. Looking for good, reasonably priced pizza? Check out Matts.

Friendly staff and all around great local pizza & pasta joint. Pizza is NY style. Thoroughly enjoyed everything I've ordered.

This is just very good New York style pizza. I think nothing of driving past at least four other pizza joints to get to Matts, they never disappoint.

We had the original cheese pizza, garlic parm bites, and a dessert that I am not sure how to pronounce, zeppanos - that were awesome! Service was fast and efficient. Check their facebook page for coupons.

Best pizza I have had in the LowCountry. The buffalo chicken pizza is great. The crust is superb, crispy on the outside and light and airy on the inside. Went there for the first time with a group of 7 and got 2 XL pizzas and one large, had about four draft beers and it was only $60. They do need to step up the service though, it's a little slow for sure. The guys making pizza kept fussing at the wait staff to get them moving. But the staff is very pleasant though. This will be our pizza destination from now on despite the not so perfect service.

By far the best Pizza in Charleston area...try the stuffed pizza, but be warned the small is like the size of two large pizzas because of the amount of cheese and toppings....if ur a cheese lover look no where else!

Great service and great food. I would definitely try the garlic knots and the buffalo chicken pizza. Also great 5$ lunch specials!!

Cannot let this go without a HUGE shout out and thank you - to Roxanne, the gal who took our order in the Mount Pleasant location tonight - she didn't have to go out of her way to provide EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE, rather, she just did. We called in a delivery and expected to receive wings and a kids spaghetti. What we got was the extra effort. Because of this, and the patience she showed on the phone as busy as they were, Matt's is back on my 'quick dial list.' I hope Matt's knows what they've got! Thank you, Roxanne. We're in.

i love this place. Great staff - great food. Family loves the caesar salad every time. They make a great pizza - pepperoni and sausage. The crust is on the thin, crispy side - sauce is perfect tomato based and the cheese is fresh and just the right amount of oil (not oily but that amount of oil a great NY pizza should have!), Try this, you will not find a better pizza in the area. Period.

Spur of the moment decision to try a local place rather than a chain pizza place. The Pizza was great the price was perfect and the atmosphere was exceptional!

I learned about Matt's Pizza through Restaurant.com . When we arrived and were ready to order, the manager told us they will not honor our bought certificate. Anybody that knows Restaurant.com knows that certificates only expire when the vendor cancels them with Restaurant.com , who then notifies their purchasers to exchange them. I attempted to explain this, but the manager said he will not honor the certificate. Period. So while we are not commenting on the quality of the food, the handling of this situation was unprofessional and discourteous. The irony was that we were the only customers because we had freezing rain in Summerville today. We cannot recommend this particular location.

Tried the pepperoni & black olives and the vegetarian. Tomato sauce was bland and skimpy, but the worse part was the dough. It was overly chewy and the bottom was hard as cardboard. I prefer Famulari's.

My family and I ordered in tonight. Not only were the pizzas fantastic (Sicilian and Meat Lovers) but the delivery guy was the best. A thunderstorm and pouring rain and he was still super nice with a huge smile on his face. It tells me a lot about any business when the employees are happy. I am a big fan of the Sicilian (deep dish) pizza. Give it a try sometime! I know I'll be back to try it again very soon

Seriously the best wings I've ever eaten! Juicy and flavorful the whole way through! The pizza is just as good, better than any other pizza place in town.

If you're looking for pizza and in Summerville, this is the place to go. It is far better than any of the standard chains

Matt's has a good pizza joint going here. Good, solid pizza. Definitely a different flavor than the chains, if you are looking for something a bit off the mainstream. (Not my favorite pizza in the area though...) The service could improve. We had a large party of about 20 people after a little-league baseball game. It took no less than a half an hour to be seated and get a drink (we were already inside of the place, just standing and waiting...AND we had already called ahead to make sure that they could accommodate our party size, so the waiting was sitting at the table for the drinks to come). After that we got "sorry it took so long, it's hard to take 20 people's drink orders"...Seriously. I don't think so. Ok, I'll give the benefit of the doubt to you, but the servers just didn't act like they wanted to help us at all. Very distant and cold. The building is standard. Small, in a small strip mall/building, but good, easy access to get in and out. You know those post-pizza pains... Anyway, I'd eat here again if someone asked, and if we were in the area. Otherwise, I'll be skipping Matt's.

The pizza is great! The crust is thin, tasty and cooked. I would have given 5 stars but the Greek salad was small for the price.

I was excited to try a new pizza joint, but the service here ultimately ruined my first experience. Granted, we had a large party (I believe there were around 17 of us) but we called ahead and we were the only people there and we had two waitresses.....we waited so long for our drinks that several in our party were ready to leave. The waitresses, while nice, need more time learning to wait tables...they seemed lost and overwhelmed the entire time. I barely remember how the pizza was, because by the time we actually got it, we had been waiting so long that we had to inhale it practically since it was time to go and the kids in the group were through with sitting. The pizza was just okay. In all fairness, I hate to poorly judge a place on one experience alone, so I would give them another try....I don't anticipate anything spectacular, unfortunately. First impressions alone? A waste of time, for sure. 3 stars only because I'm sincerely hoping ours was a off-night and its normally better. Meh, we all have off-nights I suppose.

More flavor than Famularis thank goodness. We got takeout so I can't speak for service. Our order was correct. We got a basic two topping pizza which was good typical ny style crust. Stromboli was really good. Garlic knots I could live without they are very lightly seasoned with garlic really just bread with marinara. So if you go try the pizza and Stromboli skip the knots.

Excellent Pizza! Abundant toppings and a crust that stands alone. Toppings are obviously not frozen, and the sauce is slightly sweet to just tangy. The staff on hand were very polite and helpful with questions. Also you get to watch them toss the dough around in the air while your waiting on your pie and sipping a beer. You don't see that much anymore. Pure Quality!!! Get your coupons for Matt's Pizza in the Summerville Smart Shopper!!!

I wish they had a bigger place. Sometimes it's packed. Garlic knots are great. Traditional New York pizza with the cheese oil running off the pie (that's a compliment) the pizza is best when made fresh and consumed there. Reheated the next day in your oven does this pie a disservice. No need to order your pie with extra cheese they load it on. They also have a lunch special for around $5, slice & soda.

The Summerville location is a tiny space at the far end of a shopping strip. We bought a Groupon and were not impressed overall. Service was ok although I'm not sure why we had two different servers off and on. The pizza was good but not the best. We were most disappointed by both the quantity and quality of our toppings. Might take advantage of the pitcher specials on a weeknight but I would rather pay a little extra elsewhere for amazing pizza.
