This was a road trip pit stop, & my first ever to a Cracker Barrel restaurant. Growing up I thought this place was just a catalog that sold cheese logs & dried salami, um, I was wrong! The restaurant is just half of the experience, the shop is insanely busy in a really really good way. Country store to the max! I loved looking around at everything, especially since it was pre-Christmas so it was pretty decked out. You have to stop here as part you trip of ever on the road, you'll be happy you did : )

Food and shopping. What could be better? Tired of your everyday, boring breakfast? Want a good ole country breakfast? Well, you have got to check this place out! They have really good priced breakfasts and they're delicious! They'll also customize your order for you. The service is great and the people are really friendly and ready to offer their help to you. So glad this location opened up cause it's closer to home now.

I will start by saying I am not a huge fan of chain restaurants, but every time I have been here (3 times now), I have been more than pleased. I have only been for breakfast, and the portions are a good size, have pretty decent flavor and the multiple servers they have running around and checking on everyone are attentive but not overly annoying. As a bonus the little ones love playing with the toys in the gift shop and they love the food so it's a win-win all the way around. I recommend this location and will be back.

Fast friendly service! Our waiter was on top of our order! Always nice to have a chain you can count on.

When the pundits discuss reasons why Americans are so fat, exhibit one is Cracker Barrel. This was the first time I had been to a CB in ages and I loved it. For some reason I had been avoiding my local CB and now it's on my radar. But ZOMG they amount of food they give you is SILLY. For like 8 bucks I got country-fried steak, the awesome CB hash brown casserole, 2 eggs sunny-side up, biscuits and gravy, and grits. Yes, that's a traditional CB breakfast ... order any breakfast platter that has eggs and breakfast meat and the hash brown casserole (or fried apples if you prefer), grits, and biscuits and gravy are included. And if that's not enough for you fatty, there's platters that offer even more food. (Don't be offended, I'm a fatty too!) Pretty much everything I got was great. The grits were a bit meh ... I got WAY better grits at the hotel I stayed at, but their biscuit was better than at the hotel. It had that signature sweetness that many expect from a biscuit. My wife got the pancakes and eggs combo. Their pancakes are excellent - WAY better than IHOP I think. Plus they serve it with those cute little bottles of maple syrup, warmed before bringing them to the table. Service was a little rocky at first - the greeter was using the bathroom and no one was covering for him, so we had to wait a couple of minutes. No biggie. After that their service was A+ across the board. And the country store had the usual selection of stuff you really don't need. Except Moon Pies - you need those. At least I do. Now if I could just figure out how to leave one peg in that darn puzzle ...

We got here around 11:00. We were seated and waited on by Victoria. I ordered the French toast and my wife got the double meat breakfast. We were given biscuits to eat while we waited. My wife has an allergy to dairy and Victoria was more than helpful with that situation. Our food came pretty fast and it was really good. Everything was cooked to perfection. I drink a lot and the waitress was able to keep up with my glass of sweet tea, 2 thumbs up for that. The price was very good for what we got, $22 before tip. I would more than recommend going to this location and ask for Victoria.

This was my first time going to Cracker Barrel and it will probably be my last time going, or at least to this location. I went for a Sunday morning breakfast and got the worst service I've had anywhere in a long time. Now going for breakfast on a Sunday in the south can mean you will be in long lines if it is anywhere close to after churches start letting out and chain restaurants usually get the brunt of that influx. I'll start by talking about the food before I get into the service. The food was right above decent. That is high praise because I'm not a big breakfast person and I am not big on chains due to the quality you usually get. There's a difference between a cook and a chef and chains only hire cooks. So my critique of the food means I'd go there again for food if it was convenient. I think we had to wait 10 minutes go be seated, which works because Cracker Barrel has a store in the front part with interesting little knickknacks you can buy. Their candy selection is the stuff of my dad's childhood. When you walk in and look around and see all the colorfully tacky decor you'll be reminded of Fridays but it's good for a chuckle. I would give my experience with the food 3 stars. So here is what kills my experience here and leaves me with my first questionable experience in the south. The waitress Linda, puts in our order promptly but after 30 minutes and several stops by, where she said the food was almost out, she said she must not of put the order in. She retakes the order and keeps apologizing and saying she will also get the manager and that that "you could jump me outside if you really aren't happy." That leaves me puzzled as she walks away, because I'm like well that's pretty classless and I'm thinking is it because I'm black? I'm not the guy looking at every experience for racism, so I only think that because its odd that this older white lady would say that. Never received the extra plate or later the extra napkins or later the 2nd syrup she said she'd bring when the food came out. Kept seeing the manager while waiting for the food and was expecting him to come over and at speak to us but he kept dancing around to every other table. Finally had to flag him down at the end of the meal and he states that he was never notified about the ticket issue and comps the meal. I didn't mention the odd comment because I just didn't know what she could of been thinking when she said it. I won't avoid Cracker Barrels in general but I will avoid the Summerville location. While its up in the air if race was the reason for the odd comment, it was just a bad experience and that's what matters when I choose where to spend my money.

Not a bad place for breakfast. I wouldn't really come for any other meals. Servers are always very nice though and the food comes out relatively quick for the amount of people.

You can never go wrong eating at Cracker Barrel. Their menu is always comforting and they are consistent. Breakfast served all day and dinners that are country style, it's the perfect place for comfort food! I normally go with the chicken fried steak, but this time I had the chicken and dumplings. The dumplings are handmade and soooo delicious! White meat chicken and a perfect gravy/sauce accompanies them. The fried okra, mashed potatoes and white gravy and hash brown casserole are always a must for me. Everything is always cooked perfectly and with the addition of a glass of sweet tea, you really can't go wrong!

Two stars because Taylor S. Was an excellent server and she triumphed over the CB mix ups and smiling through it all. Our wait time was apx 20-25 minutes when we signed in. However it was actually 62 minutes!!! It took 35-40 for our cold eggs and bacon to come out, my husbands food was burnt and dried out, sent back to have them send out a second time rock hard, dried out, inedible steak and eggs. Manager took his meal off Bill, however we would have gladly paid double for a good meal. What's happening in that kitchen?

I usually go to the one in North Charleston although I live closer to the Summerville one, but finally decided to give the Summerville one a try. Should not have. The food was chilly when it FINALLY came out to us and tasted very bland. The wait was terrible! We were seated very fast so it was looking good for time, but then we had to wait forever for the drinks and the food. In the future I will be sticking with the North Charleston one, they seem to have it together better.

I visited this restaurant for breakfast recently and well, it was great. I believe breakfast is sort of an easy meal to pull off "good", but the server and the guy doin' the eggs, they better have their acts together. My eggs were perfect over easy to just the right tick-ness of yoke coagulation and all firm whites. Yum. I was impressed to see they have a low carb menu section too! Their bacon has a true breakfast flavor - no smokey or over done maple-ie flavor stuff, just some good down home pork flavor! Dittos with their patty sausage too. (Is dittos too redundant?) All three orders at our table were spot on accurate and no surprises. Coffee cups never cooled off confirming this server was a 3 star pro. (and dining room was 60% + - ) If you are ever in the area, (firstly, why the heck are you in between nowheres??) this is the place for gettin' it started in my book.
