Ok went back the other day. The BLONDE SERVER IS A RUDE TURD!!!!!!If you don't like where you work then leave. & to top it off after our shitty service when we were leaving she started to clear the table. Went right for the tip. ( which was fair for the service we got) $7 on a $40 dollar check. & under her breath mumbled " fucking assholes" I was shocked !!!! I almost took my tip back & left the whole amount of Zero. !!! Because of this I will NEVER go back & will advice people accordingly. Service is the number 1 buffer between customers & back of house. I'm a chef. Over 15 years working all over the U.S. & this was such a shame. The only reason I didn't leave 1 star was because the pizza for the area was decent. To bad the service wasn't @ least mediocre.

Easily the best pizza in Spartanburg: maybe the Upstate. I love Venus Pie! Always fresh, always tasty, always a lot of bang for your buck! I like to get a slice with mushrooms, olives, banana peppers and Italian sausage with the spinach salad and a Sierra Nevada. Bill comes out right at $12 and I'm one happy customer. Been going here for YEARS and the quality has never waiverd.

We visited last night and really enjoyed it. We didn't realize we were arriving 20 minutes before closing time until we got there, and I told them I didn't want to put them out if they were already shutting down. The chef and the servers were very welcoming, encouraged us to stay, and were very down-to-earth. I had a calzone and my husband ordered three slices (one to take home - they're huge!). I thought I would take half the calzone home to finish later, but it was just the right amount for me to finish there. The ricotta-mozzarella blend stuffed into the calzone offered a great flavor. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town.

This is a good hole-in-the-wall pizza joint located in the heart of Spartanburg. Not fancy, but everything is homemade! We picked up a couple pies on 9/17/2014 with a full box of breadsticks. The pepperoni pizza is decent, although one minor problem is that the sauce is a bit watery, yeah, a little bland and forgettable. Wait until you get to the crust! The crust is real good! And the cheese breadsticks are absolutely awesome! The pizza slices are pretty massive. The only thing I don't like is the sauce is a bit bland. Still not bad, but I overall like the Mellow Mushroom up the street more, although that's a chain. Yeah, go get a pie from this place! You won't be too disappointed.

I've only been twice so take the review with a grain of salt. First time, I split a pizza with a friend, and it was one of the most average pizzas I've ever had..aka much would've had dominos or papa johns. BUT, second time ordered by the slice and it was amazing, about the size of a large pizza pan, super thin, super good. So if u go I highly recommend the pie by the slice.

Great pies! Great slices! I go in for a slice or two of a pepperoni or a pepperoni/mushroom. Sometimes it takes a while to get your slice, but not bad if you're not in any hurry. 4 stars. Best pizza within the downtown area IMO.

After 8 years, I'm happy to see nothing has changed at Venus Pie. Its still the best pizza in Spartanburg, with massive slices and the best toppings. The breadsticks are still my fave with fantastic marinara to dip. The prices are perfect - $3.25 for a huge slice? Yes please! Believe me, you only need one slice of pizza, especially if you get the breadsticks (the half order is astoundlingly massive). This is not a fancy place, but the food is delicious and the service kind.

Great pepperoni bread sticks! Perfect thin crust, amazing seasonings, and great price! The managing staff is courteous. We probably order the breadsticks once every couple weeks! I have been very happy with this place.

Venus Pie has to be my favorite independent pizza place in Spartanburg. No, the place is not fancy by any means. It is your typical hole in the wall pizza place with good service, great food and reasonable prices. I would not recommend coming here for a romantic date, but for a quick bite to eat or hanging out with friends it is perfect. They offer pizza by the slice, however, I would recommend their calzones. They are positively huge and in my opinion represent the value on the menu.

This is the best pizza in Spartanburg. I genuinely enjoy it and I am fairly picky about Pizza. It's definitively a NY thing style crust. The atmosphere is how a pizza place is supposed to be in my opinion but nothing fancy. The only reason that I feel they don't deserve 5 stars is the owner or manager im not sure which. She is not a nice person to her customers or staff. When paying with a credit card she will interrogate you. This may seem like a small thing but it has irritated several friends of mine to the point that they will not return simply to deny her business. Great pizza but I hope they clean up that aspect of the restaurant.

We came in for a little lunch, we sat down and had to wait a while to order our drinks. When we did get to order our drinks it was 10 mins before we got them and when we did receive our drinks they were very bad, tea was sour and tasted like it was kept for a while, my bf ordered coke and his was just basically soda water. We sent it back and had to wait once again for a while just to get 2 waters. We put in our food order and it took forever to just get it. We ordered two slices each. Waited almost 25minutes to even get our food. Our waitress rarely spoke to us unless you count the stares from across the room. The pizza was ok, I've had better. Trios in Asheville NC is way better. Better luck next time Venus! We will not be back..

Some of the best pizza in Spartanburg, and one of my all time favs. Very thin, crispy crust slices that hang over each side of the plate! Fresh ingredients and a hefty dose of cheese make this New York style pizza stand out. Great deal for the price, and always a crowd pleaser.

This was my first visit and I went for lunch. Unknowing, I ordered 2 slices. When they came out they were HUGE! Next time I will order one (unless I need dinner then I'll get 2). I finished one and took the other home for dinner. I was so pleased with the pizza. It was very much like what I have had in NYC. Just delicious!! The atmosphere is very much college dive bar, but the pizza speaks for itself. If you want really good pizza go here. 5 star!

Dropped in to Venus Pie after the Georgia Southern-Wofford game. I wish we'd been able to eat in, but we were tired and wanted to get back to the hotel, so we ordered to go. Service was very fast, slices are HUGE, and very tasty, even if it wasn't as hot as we'd have liked by the time we got back to the hotel. We ordered a 1/2 order of breadsticks (a full order is the size of a medium pizza!), 2 slices of pizza and the spinach salad. Tasty marinara, great pizza and toppings, and one of the best salads I've had in awhile. My wife's ready to make the 2 hour drive back for another salad! Don't let the looks of the place from the street turn you away, Venus Pie is worth it. Next time we're in Spartanburg, we'll stop back in and enjoy a pie and pitcher!

Best pizza in Spartanburg is now Papa John's, but it could use more sauce. Great chalk wall room for the kids to play on. You will smell this pizza as soon as you park. The pizza here is a different NY style, worth trying but in my favorite anymore.

Food was really very good! We had a variety of their normal huge slices and a monster calzone. All were hot and fresh. But there is more to a restaurant than just the food! I mean come on....... The food must be good to ever get repeat business. However, the restaurant is outdated and very dirty! The restrooms should be embarrassing to the staff. I literally used paper towels on every surface and my daughter refused to go because they are so nasty. This has always been the case here. The kitchen staff are not neat and clean looking. Their clothes were very soiled from work and my family had the pleasure of overhearing several foul words from the conversation of the kitchen staff. The server was very attentive and did an overall good job. She has been there 12 years. The paint and decor desperately need updating, and everything in the dining area is coated with a generous layer of dust. How clean can their ovens, pans, hands, etc possibly be?!?!? Come on Venus Pie..... Your full price customers deserve better than you are delivering. Still love your pizza, but I would eat th way more often if you would just do some cleaning!
