As a Spartanburg native, Mon Amie has been my favorite breakfast place since it opened. I've always had delicious food and great service--until the last time I went. My friend and I sat down, ordered, and soon got our food, but my friend's dish was not good. She got a crepe that had egg and spinach and it was wet, runny--almost like it hadn't been cooked all the way. After one bite, she politely explained to our waitress that the dish was not good and asked for something else. Our waitress immediately looked very nervous and tried desperately to save the sale, volunteering to box it up for my friend, but the dish was not good and there was no point in saving it. If she didn't want it now, she wasn't going to eat it later. I assumed the waitress was nervous about us blaming her for the bad dish and it messing up her tip, so we were sure to be extra nice and let her know that we both work in food and bev and know that sometimes dishes don't come out right and that it was totally cool. Cut to time to pay for our meal, and I noticed that the dish we had sent back was still on our ticket. I figured it was just a mistake and politely explained to the owner that we sent the dish back after one bite and that it was not good and we politely asked that it be taken off of our bill--which, I think we can all agree, is standard practice for a restaurant. And then everything went downhill. The owner rudely asked my friend, "well, was it a matter of you not liking it or it not being made correctly? Because you need to make sure you like the things that you order. We can't just take it off if you didn't like it." My friend calmly explained that that was her regular dish at the restaurant and she loved everything in the dish, but for whatever reason, that morning the dish did not come out well. The owner, with more and more attitude, went on to condescendingly explain that the dish had spinach in it, and when spinach cooks it releases water, and that's why her dish was soggy. She then looked pointedly at my friend and told her to make sure she knew that from now on when ordering a dish with spinach in it, and then she begrudgingly took it off our ticket. My friend and I were regulars who frequented Mon Amie a few times a month and had always had a STELLAR experience while there, but this interaction completely turned me off to the restaurant forever. We handled the situation as calmly, politely, and maturely as possible, and were met with condescension and rudeness. Oh, and I know it was the owner because, as I was leaving, I realized I knew the owner, Mr. Angelakis (I think that's how you spell it!), and the woman smugly smiled and said, "He owns half of it. I own the other half." Horrible treatment of regular customers? I'll take my breakfast elsewhere.

My favorite breakfast spot in Spartanburg! Love their crepes, all breakfast items, atmosphere, etc!

Well friends I hate to say it but one of my favorite breaky places in Spartanburg has gone wayyyy downhill. Breakfast today was a mix of over cooked yet undercooked eggs @ the same time. They changed the breakfast sausage. NOT for the better. Also I have never had to re season my food so liberally. Also the portion size is dramatically smaller while the price has strangely stayed the same. Hmmmmmm. The only saving grace was the grits & the biscuit. Which if they fuck with these I will surely never return.

I don't really understand why Mon Amie only has three reviews on here...this place is incredible! Seriously, do yourself a favor and try it. Since moving to the West coast, I miss getting my Mon Amie fix...I still dream about their French quarter sauce drizzled over my crepes! This place is seriously amazing, the decor is super chic and inviting, the staff is friendly, service is fast, and the food is to die for. Mon Amie was my go-to breakfast or lunch date spot, I always brought my out-of-town friends in to try it just to see them delight over the deliciousness just as I did the first time. As a nightshift nurse, nothing beat rounding up my coworkers to join me here for a delectable breakfast to reward our exhausted selves after a long 12 hour shift. One of my last meals before moving to CA was my beloved Mon Amie and I can't wait to visit in October to get my fix! Much love, Nita!

Went to eat lunch on a Wednesday at noon, and not open. No answer on the phones. No mention of the closing on their website. Very unprofessional.

Mon Amie is the best breakfast/brunch spot in Spartanburg - hands down. We eat there often and it's consistently excellent. The New Orleans crepe is amazing, and the frites with melted brie are too good for words.

The food here is AMAZING. Everything on the menu looked so delicious that I really had a hard time deciding. I finally went with the Crêpe Mon Chéri and it was one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten -- fresh ingredients & cooked to perfection!! I consider myself a VERY picky foodie, and I was so happy with this place. As a vegetarian, I was also pleased with the number of veggie-friendly options to choose from. This was only my first time here, but I have a feeling it will quickly become one of my favorite breakfast/brunch spots!

This is by far the best breakfast I have ever had! The sauces used are understated, yet add a unique flavor to the eggs. The biscuits, crepes, and pancakes were all fantastic ! I look forward to my next visit!

Excellent food, great service. Very friendly atmosphere. We have eaten here quite a few times and everything is consistent.

I am quite a fan of this restaurant. Order a crepe and if possible, sit at the bar. Nothing tastes as good as seeing it being prepared. Definitely coming back. Bring a date here.

This place is amazing. The food is far superior to anything else you'll find in town. This place needs to have a warning. I could eat myself to death here.

We came on a Saturday for breakfast, and it was packed. The staff seemed very stretched. The food was tasty. The French Press was not good. The waitress gave no instruction in when it should be pressed. I would recommend the food, but just get regular coffee.

Excellent service, a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and delicious (and beautiful) dessert crepes make this place a must visit spot when in the Spartanburg area. We visited twice, once sitting outside and another time at the crepe bar where you can watch your crepes be made. Also a standout item - the thin crispy parmesan fries - available with melted brie! So tasty.

I've lived in Spartanburg for over 7 years, but I've never heard of this place till very recently. It's probably my favorite place to eat in Spartanburg now!

This is such a classy and cozy restaurant that serves one of the best crepes that I ever had on the East coast! Whenever I'm in SC, I always ask my parents if we could go to Mon Amie! Their french toasts are to die for and the lunch specials are pretty great too. Plus the owners are super nice too- if you're lucky enough to sit in the center "bar" area, you can chat with one of the owners while he cooks up your crepe for you! Overall, I'd recommend this place for a lunch date or for breakfast!

This place is simply awesome. One of my all time favorites in Spartanburg. Great for breakfast or lunch (not open on evenings). I am there on average about once a week for lunch. Amazing crepes and daily specials. We like sitting at the crepe station so that we can see the great things they are putting out while we eat. Always always always something great coming out of the kitchen. One of my favorites is the pimento cheeseburger, but this is only available as a special...they don't have it on the menu. If you want to know what the daily specials are, you can like them on Facebook. The interior is very clean, and bright. Yellow walls with black accents for the "French" flair. seating is European style with close tables and a bench seat along one wall. I didn't think I'd like it, but it allows for easy conversation with your neighbors and there is always someone there to speak to. This place has a steady business, but we've never had to wait more than a moment for a seat. A must try!!!!

Wow! Never a bad meal...we've only had breakfast and dessert crepes, but they've been amazing every time! Great service, very reasonable prices. Our only regret is we lived here almost two years before finding mon amie. That's time we could have been eating crepes!

I absolutely love Mon Amie! When I started taking French foreign language classes for my degree, my professor mentioned that Spartanburg had a French restaurant. I became interested and wanted to go, but I knew that I would have to go solo because my husband isn't that open to new foods. As it turns out, he wanted to go and so we took our daughter there for brunch one day. All I can say is that I love this place. We always sit at the crepe bar and watch them make our food. I have an extreme food allergy and they have never once gotten my order wrong. My daughter always gets the same thing (scrambled eggs and grits) and my husband can polish off a lunch crepe, two eggs and grits and a dessert crepe all by himself and normally does every time we go there. He even gained a nickname from the chef..."Sugar Daddy!" The staff there is so nice and courteous and their food is to die for. You have to try the cordon bleu crepe! Delish! We have continued to make Mon Amie our brunch spot for two years. It really is an amazing place.

Don't live in Spartanburg but have eaten at several of the breakfast spots and this was the best by far! Had the Big Boy Breakfast to get a sampling of a lot of different items and all were great. Eggs light and fluffy, flavorful potatoes, tasty black pepper bacon, and a mouth watering biscuit. Special standouts were the sausage and the pancake. Don't know what the coffee was but it was superb. Best coffee I've had in Spartanburg, better than The Coffee Bar on Main Street. I agree with the reviewer who didn't understand why this place has so few reviews. This place is a gem!

Best brunch in Spartanburg. Great atmosphere, food and service.

The food is outstanding and is reasonably priced. The crepes are awesome. Quaint atmosphere. When they're very busy, you may be asked to sit Euro-style (with others) if yours is a party of 2.

Another Spartanburg favorite. Their crepes take me back to Paris, but the southern twist reminds me that I'm still home. I would also highly recommend the eggs Benedict. The service is always great and the owner is very friendly.

If you come to Spartanburg and you don't make an effort to eat at Mon Amie, then you have done yourself a disservice. The food is excellent. Somehow, you can eat a huge crepe here stuffed full of fresh ingredients and as you're walking out feel both fully satisfied and light as a feather. That isn't to say that they have some heavier options! They usually have a special on a southern and French inspired burger that comes with their Parmesan fries (get those covered in melted Brie). But honestly anything you get at Mon Amie is flavorful and rich. Make the effort to eat here and you will not regret it.

I've now been here 3 times and my verdict is that this place is awesome and is most likely the best place to eat breakfast in Spartanburg. And if that statement doesnt sound like much of a testament because of it being in Spartanburg; it would be the best place to eat breakfast in most places. Their specialty is crepes. They're awesome. And they have a bar that you can sit at and watch all the crepes being made. They also have all the breakfast mainstays like pancakes, French toast, eggs Benedict and their own variations on each. They're open 8am-3pm so they also have lunch things (lunch crepes!) like burgers, fries, salads, etc. On my most recent visit I got the chunky monkey pancake. It's a sauteed banana wrapped in a chocolate chip pancake topped with syrup, whipped cream and pecans. I had two concerns. 1) is one pancake and a banana gonna fill me up. It did. And 2) I'm not crazy about pecans, should I order it w/o. I did not and I was pleasantly pleased with the crunch provided by the pecans. Highly recommended this restaurant and the chunky monkey pancake.

Finally got to check out Mon Ami for brunch today. Went with a ton of guys who found the crepes were not so dainty! You can order a delicate raspberry truffle crepe or a heavier crepe like the Betty which is filled with sausage, two eggs and cheese. My sister ordered the Chunky Monkey which was stuffed with banana, chocolate and an orange glaze. For a gluten free option, try the breakfast bowl. If you're looking for a hearty brunch, this is it! We tried their eclair too and took two home for later. Def must for when in Spartanburg!

My girl and I eat here often when we are off together. The food and atmosphere is exquisite since it is a brunch/morning cafe. The servers are quick and reliable also the host and cashier always greets us with a warm welcoming smile. The food is delicious and was a savory bite into abyss. Simply eat here if you adore yourself.

The food, French toast and pancake, was good, but manners of staff was poor. We arrived at 1:00 on a breezy day and asked to be seated outside. Hostess gets a sour look on her face and says, "Well, I guess..." She sits us the worst outdoor seat, so that two are in shade and one in sun, even though all other seats were completely in the shade. Food came promptly and was very good. About five minutes after food came, someone came outside and started sweeping and turning chairs upside down on the other tables. She says not to worry and to stay as long as we like because they aren't closing for over an hour. So I'm wondering why they are in such a rush to clean while I'm eating that my meal has to be I interrupted by her cleaning. I felt like I was in the food court at the mall and maybe I should lift my legs for her to sweep under my feet. She disappears and another woman comes and continues cleaning. Before I had exited patio, she was moving my chair to clean under my chair. It was a beautiful, breezy day and I really just wanted to enjoy sitting outside and having a good meal with my family. Instead, I felt rushed and like I had someone standing over me eating my doctored up French toast. What a shame...

I met a friend at MonAmie Morning Cafe for lunch. This cafe is apparently a popular little spot for socializing as the place was packed! My friend and I were seated in a very tight corner. We were able to order from the brunch/lunch menu. The crepe bar is a very nice touch. MMC has an extensive crepe menu where you can order savory or sweet crepe dishes, including a Nutella crepe plate. The food that I had was good, the ambiance was nice, the service was fantastic. However, the prices are a little higher at MMC than other cafes that offer delicious brunches. I will try MMC again, possibly on a less busy day! Cheers!

Always excellent and delicious although a bit on the pricey side. I wish they were closer in to the heart of downtown.

Have been here for brunch/breakfast twice. Everything is prepared with fresh ingredients and very flavorful. The last time, we say at the crepe bar, which was fun watching. I had the New Orleans breakfast crepe with bacon, tomato, onion and green peppers. My wife had the house omelette with bacon. And we shared the raspberry truffle crepe for a dessert which was awesome with nutella.

This place is wonderful! The decor is super cute and the food delicious. The pancakes were really fluffy and it's fun to watch the cooks making crepes. Highly recommended!

The special today was amazing. Crepe-n-Egg: Cajun Ham and fried potatoes with peppers/ onions and Swiss cheese filled crepe with egg topper and French Qtr sauce. I have never been disappointed here. The French press is amazing. Last time I had the New Orleans Crepe which is outstanding.

This place is amazing. The crepes are perfectly light and fluffy, the sandwiches full and overflowing, the eggs Benedict is near perfect, covered with the best Hollandaise sauce I've had in years. The atmosphere is French Bistro and delightful. My only complaint is not that it's hidden in Spartanburg but that it's so far away and in a rather shoddy strip mall area with a horribly pot holed parking lot. Otherwise a perfectly delightful experience (twice now) front to back.
