I'm going to give this a 5. We had the lime leaf duck and the gang massamon, both of which were superb. Enjoyed the chicken satay appetizer. The decor is just phenomenal. The food, in addition to being delicious, is also artistically arranged. Great service from friendly servers. Reasonable prices. My only minor criticism is the dessert menu has just one Thai item on it--banana and sticky rice--and needs more choices such as black rice, ginger or coconut icecream, etc. I'm curious if their other restaurant up in Hendersonville, NC, is as good.

Swung by for lunch while in town with family. We were really surprised by the quality of the food. Very tasty papaya salad, basil chicken, and pad dishes. Great decor and atmosphere. Turn up the spice, though! :)

Holy Cow! Here in Spartanburg on business and was lucky to end up at Lime Leaf for dinner. This is the best Thai restaurant I've eaten at, hands down. The staff is wonderful and the food is beyond belief! Their mango with sticky rice blew my freakin' mind, and the pad see ew is the best version of this dish I've tasted...full of flavor and not greasy or oily at all. Top notch.

We went to the Lime Leaf after reading some reviews. This place was awesome! The descriptions of the food on the menu, does not do the actual dish justice. The Volcano Beef was amazing as was the Garlic Shrimp and Scallops. But what was even more amazing was this thing called the Crab Pot. It was loaded with seafood and everyone in the restaraunt was like what in the world did you get? It smells so good. Smelled and tasted incredible. So go and have a great time.

Excellent Thai food. Excellent atmosphere. Excellent location. Excellent Service. Excellent presentation. Reasonable prices. What more can I say? Go! You will not be disappointed. 2/12/2010 - Went here recently with a group of friends for a surprise birthday celebration. It was very enjoyable. Very good Thai. Best in Spartanburg. The ambiance was accommodating and the service was attentive. The menu is varied and there is a decent wine list. Kids are welcome although the size of the restaurant and the proximity to other diners requires that they not act like kids. Our children and another couples children shared a table beside the adult table and I think that they may have disturbed a ill tempered looking older woman seated at the table next to them. It happens ;-)

I didnt realize southerners had this much culture.. Wow this place was jammed packed for lunch. The basil chix was tasty but the chix came in crumbles (odd) and the sauce was a bit overwhelming (takes alot for me to say that). Prices were reasonable.

Nice little spot downtown, great for a date or a family meal. Lime Leaf has great food and a nice atmosphere as well. I get to go food from them a lot, and sometimes will come in with my whole family.

I've been Lime Leaf twice since moving to Spartanburg. First time, I ordered the Pad Thai, it was delicious. Second visit, I ordered the Garlic Shrimp and Sea Scallops with a side of rice, again excellent. Each visit we had the same server, with excellent and extremely fast service. I would eat there again and again. Great atmosphere. They have a full bar, but the beer selection has room for improvement

My sisters were in town to celebrate two birthdays. We had delicious food; the Volcano beef, beef stir-fry and Pho. We shared. larb salad as an appetizer, a wonderful blend of flavors. The waitress was very willing to tailor each dish to our preference. We had a very nice evening.

Went for lunch. Got mild yellow beef curry lunch special. It was amazing. Came w soup which was alright kind of bland and an eggroll and rice. I opted for fried rice for the extra dollar and let me tell you I always add soy sauce to my rice but here it isn't necessary its so wonderfully seasoned plus a super creamy and tasty Thai iced tea. I looooove this place. Great value great food.

Great food!! Excellent yellow curry pork, dumplings, edamame, and fresh rolls!! Had a wasabi martini as well, delicious! Protip: Greenvillians can enjoy the same great food at koi off pelham, owned by the same company, and save yourself the drive!

Four of us started with four appetizers. We got the edamame, summer rolls, spring rolls and lettuce wraps. The lettuce wraps filling didn't look good but tasted delicious. The summer rolls came two to an order. We asked for a knife to cut them but it never came. We used a spoon. Not easy. The fried spring rolls came three to an order; I didn't get one. The edamame were good. Our waiter was clearly not on it that night. He should have told us the number in the orders and suggested upping both rolls. When Our four appetizers were served; he did not bring plates. We waited looking at them for a long time until we got plates. Someone had to actually get up and say something. For my main I got the yellow curry with shrimp and potatoes. It didn't look so appealing but tasted delicious. The shrimp was cooked to perfection. There were a lot of crunchy onions and soft potatoes too . For dessert we all spilt the fried banana and ice cream and the mango sticky pudding. The fried banana was good and had co but on it. Although no one liked the mango sticky pudding, I liked the large amount io fresh mango served with it. One friend commented that they clean he bathroom floor with bleach and he was impressed.

Definitely the best combination of food and service in Spartanburg. Food is top notch and servers are extremely knowledgeable. I take most people here when they come to town. Keep it up!

I was hungover and craving something asian, so I went here for lunch with not that great of expectations considering the location. I got the pad thai with the seafood (mussels, shrimp, and squid). The dish was not bad - it had flavor and it had a little kick, which was nice. The seafood in it was kind of meh. They are probably more of a three star restaurant, but they get an extra star for exceeding my expectations and fulfilling my craving. If you really want Thai, I'm guessing it is one of the better options in the area. Prices are reasonable.

Great food. Went there for lunch and it was fantastic. The service was excellent and the price was even better. I would recommend to anyone.

As a vegetarian, Thai is one of my favorite go-to options for flavorful dishes. I was VERY disappointed by Lime Leaf. While the atmosphere & location are nice, everything I ate was VERY BLAND & boring. I asked for "very spicy", but when my dish arrived, I'd say it was only a "1" on a scale of 1 to 10. The flavor wasn't any better - a mushy tofu drowning in a soupy flavorless curry. My husband is not nearly as picky as I am, and he was unimpressed as well. Incredibly disappointing experience, especially for the priced. If you are a fan of Thai food in general (and I mean TRUE, authentic, spicy Thai food), then the Lime Leaf is NOT your place. P.S. Contrary to some reviews on here, I have to admit that our service was decent.

Wonderful, tasty Thai food! Truly a pleasant surprise in Spartanburg. The curries and stir fries are delish! Today I tried the rice noodles as well--awesome! Great location and wonderful atmosphere right downtown.

Horrible experience. There is something with most of the restaurants downtown and smart ass wait staff. Also the food isn't that great. Save yourself the frustration and avoid this place.

Lime Leaf is really good. It was redecorated a few years ago and looks nice and upscale for essentially being a small downtown cafe. First of all, the front table overlooking the street is a great little private section, and our party of four was seated there. We enjoyed edamame, spring rolls, and other apps, along with some of the specialty cocktails. They are delicious, I had two. Apps were also good. For dinner, I got spicy fried rice with chicken and it was a nicely sized portion. Very tasty, too! Lots of flavor but not so hot as to be inedible. C got pineapple fried rice with raisins and peanuts, which was served in a whole, huge half pineapple. Yes! It was very good, too. Presentation made the food as fun to look at as to eat. Overall, a great place, near to other spots downtown where you can walk after or before dining, and we will be back.

Horrible service from the waiter named joe. He kept addressing me as man. For example how was the food man? Spicy enough man? You would think as a waiter, he would have learned how to respectfully address customers. Not only was the service bad, my friend ordered the pad see ew and eww it was. It was drenched in soy sauce. I had ordered my dish to be extra spicy but when my friend was asked by the waiter, the waiter assumed he wanted extra spicy too. My friend said not extra spicy but that didn't mean he wanted zero spice. Awful experience. The decor of the place is nice, that's probably the only good thing I have to say and the other lady working seemed to be friendly. Other than that, this place was unbelievably forgettable.

Happened to stop in on the way to Columbia from Asheville last night. Saw Thai food on google maps and said why not. Glad we stopped, totally worth the detour from the interstate. Restaurant is really nicely decorated and very clean. Appealing all around. Our waiter was super nice and informative. He answered any questions we had and brought out food quite quickly, and it was just perfect. Plated beautifully, really regret not taking a picture before we dug in. My wife and I both got Basil dishes, mine with eggplant. Such nice subtle flavors, tasted of fresh Thai Basil. My daughter got a child's plate with a spring roll and brown fried rice. Since she didn't finish the rice, as she never does, we helped a bit. I've got to say it's absolutely the best brown fried rice I've ever had. My wife agreed and she's a brown rice aficionado. I can't recommend this place more highly. All around perfect.

I'm from out of town here for work, and was pleasantly surprised to find such a gem in Spartanburg. Our server was the most attentive and hardworking man, from the moment we walked through the door. He had great suggestions and descriptions of food options and made us feel very welcome and excited to try the food. I ordered the spicy beef, which had the most amazing eggplant I've ever had within the dish. The brown rice that came with the meal was excellent, and the sliced steak was good quality beef, which I rarely find at Thai restaurants. Thank you, Lime Leaf! I will be back next time!

I have eaten at this restaurant twice. It is close to the Marriott in the downtown area. The food is just okay and the service is poor. It is over-priced. I have seen this deceptive pricing in several Thai restaurants when I have visited the South and the locals have little to compare it with. The locals are usually happy to have different food in the smaller towns and cities and the Thai restaurants (and some other restaurants) hijack the food prices 40-50% greater than they should be. FYI " show less

Really enjoyed our meals at Lime Leaf Thai Fusion. I had the Gang Masamon Curry with tofu and brown rice. It was delicious. Arlene had a bowl of the Tom Kha. We left very satisfied.

Very Delicious Thai Food! Fantastic Service! Great Looking Place! Cool Mod Decor! My friend suggested this place mostly because of location (plenty of sights close by) I arrived a little early and though the place was packed they had a table (the BEST Table in the place) waiting for us! With Lunch you get a Spring Roll and Soup, both were almost A-OK, these are the extras that I do not care to factor into the overall rating of a Restaurant... Pad See U (spelling is close) Stir Fried Wide Flat Noodles, Soy Based Sauce, and Broccoli (conveniently all on one side - I do not like Broccoli, and my friend does very much) we ordered it without Egg. This "Pad See U" was one of the Best versions of this dish I have had! 5 yelp stars! Stir Fried Thai Basil with Ground Chicken, Onions and Peppers, Soy Based Sauce, Served with Rice! Ordered Medium Spicy and the spice level was perfect. This dish gets very close to 5 yelp stars. For Dessert Thai Iced Coffee! Very good! Our servers did an Outstanding job and were very patient as we took our time ordering and leaving (we closed this place down (opened until 3:00pm Lunch)!

Overall, I was pleased with my experience at the Lime Leaf. The starter soup was a bit on the bland side, but the spring roll was crispy and pretty tasty. I decided to order the red curry and while it wasn't the best red curry I have eaten, it was pretty good. Our service was not spectacular, but it was ok. Prices were very reasonable. I would certainly eat here again next time I am in town on business.

It was such a good deal for a lunchtime treat- soup, egg roll, and main course: can`t be beat! The waiter was attentive and we didn`t need a reservation, but parking`s tough, go for the garage if you`re hesitatin`!

Decent food and decent staff minus the male manager that screams across restaurant, "NO NO NO, He can't sit there" after I was being seated at an unreserved table. "NO, that's for a party later". What an idiot. That's not how you handle customers respectfully. Mark the table reserved or come over and politely ask me to change tables. Moron.

Nice restaurant in a beautiful part of town. The waiter's recommendations were spot on. I had the crispy duck panang and my coworker had the hibachi red snapper - both excellent meals. Fried bananas with coconut and ice cream was a great finish.

Passing through town. GREAT THAI. Would definitely recommend the Pad Kee Mow. Also some of the freshest summer rolls I've had. And $3.75 Sapporo draft!

I went into Lime Leaf a couple of weeks ago for my aunt's birthday. We had an amazing time! I had the tofu green curry and it was so good, I was craving it by the time I went to bed that night. Mmmm I want to bathe in it! lol We all split the fried banana dessert, which was sliced banana, breaded and fried, with ice-cream. It was drizzled with a white creme icing and topped with coconut flakes. The coconut was perfect! The ice-cream didn't exactly compliment it, but it's almost a staple with desserts nowadays. It was $7 for a personal bottle of champagne. I got about a glass and 1/4 out of it. It tasted better than I was expecting. The waiter was good at what he did and didn't try to rush us or ignore us once it started getting busy. Afterwards, we took a stroll around the square and then headed to the cigar bar a few doors down. We had a scotch and cigar under the lights in their hidden patio section. I recommend them both. It was a great night! I'll probably be getting the same entree next time I go, but I'm anxious to try the Green Tea ice-cream,

Wow...who would've ever thought that I'd have some of the best Thai food I've ever had in Spartanburg SC? Coming from NY, where Thai restaurants are popping up as quickly as pizza shops, certainly not me! We stopped here for lunch on our way to the BMW factory tour. There were 7 of us and we all ordered something different from their terrific lunch menu. I can't even remember what they all were but each one was better than the last. We all tried each dish and nobody could decide which was the best...they were all THAT good.

Overall...I would avoid this place as I was underwhelmed (I am a foodie). Service was fast & cheap with my lunch coming in under $10 and me out the door in under 30 minutes. Complimentary soup (shrimp I think) is bland while the spring-roll is good...the dipping sauce could use more acidity or less sweetness. My bowl of complimentary soup was hastily filled as it was sitting in a saucer filled with soup. I found this out when trying to determine what dripped onto the pants of my brand new suit. The panang shrimp was flavorful but, also, poorly prepared. The bell pepper slices were all about 4-5 inches long and had to be cut down to fit the over-sized spoon they brought me. I was forced to use a spoon as the rice was made American style (dry) and could not be eaten with chopsticks. Honestly, if you don't know how to make rice you shouldn't work in a Thai restaurant. Between the spilled soup, poor preparation, lousy rice, and the bland starter soup...I would avoid this place unless you are in a bind. I will likely eat here again as my office is across the street and coworkers like eating here. Maybe the review can be raised to a 3 or 4 star after a few more trips. At the moment, it stays at 2-stars.

This was our big night out in Spartanburg and my coworker said we HAD to try this Thai place so I didn't want to disappoint him. The location is great, the ambiance is very nice inside with comfortable chairs and very friendly attentive waiters. The menu was your typical Thai menu and then there were some non-traditional specials that looked interesting. We stuck with the old Thai favorites and went with the lettuce wraps, chicken satay, green curry, and ginger stir fry. The lettuce wraps were surprisingly tasty and it was nice that they used romaine instead of the questionable iceberg you get at PF Chang's. Aside from the sweat beading down the face of my coworker he said the Green Curry was outstanding and I was more than satisfied with the ginger stir fry. If you're in the mood for Thai and you're in Spartanburg it's definitely worth a stop here.

Passing through on a road trip and on a serious mission to find noodles, my friend and I meandered into downtown Spartanburg hoping to try Monsoon Noodle House... DENIED. We walk up and there's caution and danger tape all over the place like a bad crime scene. Apparently there was a fire there in March - upset and wondering why we came to this middle of nowhere town, we walked down the street to find food. Anywho, we still want some damn noodle and see Lime Leaf off in the distance and decide Thai will do. Best. Coincidence. Ever. Lime Leaf had so many noodle dishes to choose from, all at similar inexpensive prices, and with the option of meat, tofu or veggies. In addition to the easy menu, we got complimentary soup and spring rolls when we sat down! Service was really quick too, I think the food was out within 5 minutes. Crazy speed chefs hiding back in the kitchen or something. If I find myself in Spartanburg ever again, Lime Leaf is my first stop.

Lime leaf has some of the best massaman curry I have ever has. It is a delicate balance of spiciness with a creamy coconut sweetness to balance it out. I found that there wasn't quite enough rice served on the side with the dish as I like to take a portion and eat it with a bite of rice like in East Asia. I also has the crispy duck, which was also delicious. This restaurant is a true gem in what is an otherwise unremarkable town when it comes to fine dining.

  • Cory B.

The Lime Leaf is an excellent place to grab some Thai food for lunch or dinner. I generally eat here for lunch whenever I'm downtown because of the great specials and general inexpensiveness of the food. Dinner is a little on the expensive, so I've only eat here once for dinner. For lunch, you get soup and spring rolls as an appetizer to your meal at no extra cost. Their spring rolls are awesome and served with a great dipping sauce. I usually order the Sweet & Sour Chicken for lunch, unless there's another item on sale that catches my eye. I've never had a bad meal here -- so, experiment a little. Overall, the food is excellent. Also, If you're into sweet tea, their tea is awesome.

I really liked the atmosphere here- the staff was very friendly. I had the massaman curry, which I quite liked very much. I also had a white russian drink, which I also liked. Overall, a great experience!!

Lunch at Lime Leaf did not disappoint... The ambiance was pleasant, the staff were friendly, and best of all, the food lived up to the reviews. We started with lettuce wraps, which were similar to lettuce tacos due to the shape of the leaf, which turned out to be an excellent start to the meal. The presentation was beautiful with all the dishes... Freshly cut veggies in interesting shapes always delight me. My daughter had sweet and sour chicken, which she claimed was "amazing". I had the jalapeño chicken. Yummmmm! My wife took the advice of several people who posted suggestions to foursquare and had the Hibachi Red Snapper, which came out sizzling... All in all this was a very enjoyable Sunday lunch!

I was told that this place was amazing so I tried it but I was disappointed. I went there for dinner and had one of their curry dishes. I did not really like the taste and it was much more expensive than other thai restaurants in the area. Also, the service was slow. My food took over 45 minutes to come and there was only two other tables with people. Maybe I just caught them on an off day but I do not plan to come here again.

So my mother & I gave this place another go this weekend while I was visiting. I feel I need to up the rating a tad, mainly due to the stellar service and the new entree I tried. We started off with the fresh rolls, which were stuffed full of veggies and had a yummy plum sauce on the side. Our server was cheerful and quick. Our appetizer was on the table shortly after we ordered and our beverages were nearly always full. Can't beat solid service with a smile! For my meal, I went with the Emerald Shrimp which was served on a massive plate full of jumbo shrimp, with garlic, onions, bell peppers, broccoli, and came with a side of white rice. I asked for the highest spice level, but that didn't seem to do the trick. After I asked the waiter about it, he brought me the lovely spice tray (see photo) so I could amp up the heat on my dish. Toss on a little hot sauce, some pepper flakes, and some hot oil substance, & I was set. This delicious dish will likely be a repeat for me at some point in the future. I love the location, the staff, and the wide variety of the menu. Always worth a visit if you're looking to try something out of the local norm.

Very good food n atmosphere. If u really want med spicy or very spicy u need to tell the waiter to tell the chef to cook it real Thai medium. The tea is too weak. Was surprised to find white potatoes instead of sweet potatoes in the massamon...sweet potatoes are the norm for massamon & would have been better...would come back again though..

In Spartanburg on business and like a dummy, I ate at the Marriott restaurant 3 out of 4 nights. I hear word about a great Thai place on main and I'm all over it. The atmosphere was nice. Small, dimly lit space conducive to good conversation. The wine list was good. They had a good-looking menu and I would definitely come back again to try other entrees. I ordered the jalapeno chicken, since it had 3 chili peppers next to the name, indicating maximum spiciness. It was tasty and hot, with big chunks of crispy jalapeno throughout. My colleague ordered the volcano beef, which is topped with crispy onions and set aflame! It looked awesome, and he looked delighted with it. This was definitely what I needed after too much bad hotel food.

Im from Greenville and rarely make it into Spartanburg. Great food here at lunch. We came in on a. Cool December day. Soup and spring rolls were great, as was the Lemongrass tea. Great spot!

Pro: clean. Cons: expensive, bland, shrimp soup had literally three tiny shrimp. Orange chicken was all breaking no chicken. We asked for jasmine tea from special menu they didn't have it, so we asked for the green tea and they didn't have it either. We left hungry. Save your time and money and don't go.

We are staying at my sisters house tonight and I have to whisper while I write this review. When we were kids we used to go to Bangkok Cuisine in Mid-City New Orleans and it has pretty much made every other Thai restaurant on the planet taste like some Regular Type of Cracker. My sister meant well when taking us to Lime Leaf but the only thing well about it was our blue drank which was all blue and all fun to drink on. We ordered duck which tasted like a duck who had some regular old duck life - walking around, looking at other ducks, swimming all normal. The duck I've had at other places (Bangkok Cuisine, Herb Saint) tasted like a duck who was a superhero or the president of all ducks or a superstar in the duck athlete world. I can't tell my sister any of this because I don't want to hurt her feelings, because I suspect she might have some sort of ownership deal worked out with the Lime Leaf managers. The Thai Tea was really good, I drank it really fast.

What can I say...they DESERVE to be number one for Sparkle City. The food was amazing, the atmosphere perfect and the service impeccable. Calling them "excellent" would be an understatement. You wont regret eating here...Im already ready to go back.
