I usually avoid any type of buffet restaurant, but this was a family celebration and couldn't be avoided. If you are a heavy, hearty eater...this place is for you. Otherwise save your money because you do not get what you pay for. It is way overpriced - $12.99 for the Adult Dinner and $2.09 for a beverage. For that amount of money, I could have enjoyed wings and a cold brew next door. The buffet bars are messy; there is no way to avoid it. When you feed that many people, it is hard to keep the place clean. The selection of food offered is huge, but I found it is very heavy on the starchy and fried foods. The room that we were in because of the size in our party was unbearably hot. And no one seemed to care about it. It also had an awful smell. I won't be returning again; any invitations will be respectfully declined.

While on vacation, we were treated to GC for the breakfast buffet. YUM! The biscuits and gravy were really tasty. I also had the pancakes, eggs, and fruit. The eggs were really runny, which I hate. However, you can have them cook an omelet to order. They also make your waffles. The buffet is very similar to the one we have here in TX. Good food and I'd go back for more.

Iama Critic Rating - Golden Corral - 3 Stars 1492 Wo Ezell Boulevard, Spartanburg, SC Overall: It amazes me how much the various Golden Corrals differ form city to city, and also from year to year! You just never know what you are gonna get. But my critic friends and I decided to take a trip to Spartanburg, my old stomping grounds, and give the Golden Corral there another try. $15.00 - AYCE Buffet w/Drink - 3 Stars All in all, the biggest draw is variety, and unlike the horrid, disgusting food we found at other Colden Corrals, the chefs in Spartanburg seemed to have their act together. The ribs and steaks were decent, (although they didn't look anything like the fabulous menu pictures). The fried fish was good as were most of the other hot dishes. The Mexican bar was very fresh, and pretty much everything was cooked and served to adequate standards with only a few items being simply too greasy or old. But those could easily be avoided. Final Thoughts: Like most buffets, Golden Corral can be terrible or it can be wonderful all during the same visit. It entirely depends on whether or not you pick the right items to make up your plate of choices. I judge buffets on their overall ability to provide the necessary components to create some awesome plates of food. So, as good as this Golden Corral was, it still is only a Golden Corral. At $13.00 (w/water) they simply cannot afford to serve the kind of quality ribs and other meats you will find at Sonny's or Mutt's. Nevertheless, it was a decent meal at a decent price.

This place is gross. It smells like the ball pit at McDonald's. That smell is old slobber where kids lick the balls. Someone has been licking something in this place. Maybe the wall or maybe the carpet, who knows? The food is what you'd expect of a buffet. It's like Quincy's on steroids. If you want to feel like a bloated pile of crap for the rest of the day, then this place is for you. That chocolate fountain really disgusts me. Think about flies that get stuck in or nats. It's just nasty. It sits there in the open air all day waiting on some kid to stick something in it. I watched a kid stick his finger in it and lick the chocolate off. How he didn't scream from the heat is amazing but the fact that he stuck his sticky, nasty, kid hand in the chocolate fountain really turned me off of this place.

I wish I could give Golden Corral a negative star rating. Unfortunately I will have to settle for one. The manager that was there during our last experience was a prick. The food was beyond terrible and new food was never put out. My daughter wanted some strawberries coated in chocolate since she didn't really eat anything because the food was so bad. We got her 4 strawberries from the chocolate fountain and when we got to the table, we realize that one of the strawberries had a hair on it. I'm not sure if it was in the chocolate or if it was on the strawberry itself but it was there. We told the waiter and he continuously told the manager to come to our table. He never showed up. We saw him standing at the front of the room looking at us and talking to the waiter and shaking his head but he never once came over to our table. Honestly I feel like it may have been because we were the wrong "type" (if you catch my drift) of people for him to have actually cared about any issue we may have had. He really only paid attention to a specific group of people and ignored everyone else. Either way, we got upset and left. We haven't been back since. It is what it is...a crappy "family" buffet place.

This buffet has a large variety of foods available! Salads, dressings, toppings, country foods like mashed potatos, gravy, rice, corn, cornbread, and then American foods like pizza, french fries, sirloin steak, salmon (which by the way is my favorite fish and I'm picky with but theirs was surprisingly good!). There's a bread section with a few different types. Then they have a large variety of desserts. All types of cake, pie, cupcakes, ice cream, brownies, and I forgot what else. Huge, ample parking and very clean location. Friendly staff and our drink server went above and beyond! His name was Jorge (young, hispanic guy) and he definately needs to get a raise or get a promotion!
