My buddy and I have walked in and so far we've had three different people at our table and we have no idea which one is actually our server. The meal was ok; the service was pretty bad. Overall, if you're just looking for a good meal, but don't mind a (possibly significant) wait, give it a shot.

Definitely my favorite Mexican restaurant in Spartanburg. The food is always good, and it's fast! Margaritas there are pretty much like any of the other Mexican restaurants around, though, but still good. If I had one criticism, it would be that when you ask for mild salsa to mix with the salsa they serve you, it's in a very small container and you can't really mix 50/50 with the hotter one. Other than that, it's great!

I ordered a water and it came with a side of dish soap residue. Apparently their dishwasher doesn't rinse the cups properly. I thought that maybe it was the water so I ordered a coke. Strange taste. What's worse is that I was eating hot salsa and I was dying so strange tasting cola it was! When my food showed up, it was right but I wasn't given the condiment I ordered. My 6 year olds food didn't come out until after mine was already on the table. They had no idea what she ordered. There were 3 people that came to my table so ultimately I didn't tip because no one really seemed like they cared in there. Service was slow and there were other people having similar issues. I don't think I will be back.

Wish I could give 0 starts. I did have a bad experience at this place, but that doesn't have anything to do with my opinion about the food quality... It's genuinely terrible. Never again.

I came here with my parents, my brother and future sister-in-law for Cinco de Mayo. The food is very sub par. My steak was chewy and fatty. And I can still taste the undercooked onions. The real problem was the owner. The owner has friends that he will protect even if they are causing a problem. A man was in the way of a waittress who had to keep hovering food over my brother's head. After the waittress said "Excuse me" multiple times, my brother turned around and asked the man to move and told him pushing closer to the table wasn't good enough. The man, an apparent friend of the owner, turned around and began yelling at my brother. When we tried to tell the owner, he told us that he didn't approve of violence in his restaurant and ensued that we were the instigators. He would not listen to our side at all. Needless to say, we will NOT be back.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Our waitress was wonderful. Very nice and visited often. Unfortunately our table was surrounded by two drunk men talking and touching everyone at the tables around us. They blocked the aisle on the busiest night of the year, MAY 5th. After the 4th time out waitress stood behind me with hot plates of food and yelled for them to move I finally said something. The drunk guy was ready to fight. The manger came over and yelled at us in Spanish while the drunk guy stood over me with his finger in my face. He kept coming around and trying to fight us. Multiple tables around us complained and they did nothing. If belligerent drunks is what you want to hang out with then this is the place. Oh, and the food was horrible. I'm not just saying that because of our experience because I reiterate that our waitress was great. The food was cheap and tasted that way.

Did fajitas for two with a friend and got PLENTY of food, was not disappointed with flavor either. Had great service and they also had a guy making balloon animals for kids in the restaurant which was fun to watch. Good place for texmex

We used to eat here regularly, and loved it. However, we placed a delivery order through Hub City (who are awesome btw) anyhow, a good portion of our order was missing or wrong. We had nearly an $80 order. Hub City attempted to call and sort it out, then I did, then I ended up having to drive there. The guy who ran the place was incredibly rude and nasty and basically called myself and Hub City liars, and was zero help. I would never give them another penny. I will drive to another restaurant, no matter the distance.

Very good, almost 5 star. We stopped on the way to Grandpa's, hoping for quick service and good food. We were not disappointed. The wife and I had the taquitos; the salsa verde was the best that my wife has ever had and she has been eating Mexican all her life, mostly in California. One of my daughters had the chicken fajitas; they had a very savory taste. Highly recommended for a family night out, or a quick stop off the road as we did.

I'll admit I'm one of those people who has stalked Yelp for years but never submits my own reviews to help other diners in their eating decisions. However, my dining experience was so epic tonight that I had to finally submit a review. My meal and my service at Corona were easily in my top 3 WORST experiences in eating out. My friend and I went out on a Thursday night for dinner and both agreed that no amount of money, threats, or natural diasasters would convince us to return. The evening started with what they called a margarita, which arrived (with salt when I requested without) with an odd blue tint and tasted predominantly of what I would say most closely resembles dish soap. Fortunately we did not order appetizers, so only had to suffer through the main entrees. I received the wrong entree and since our waitress was not even remotely paying attention to us (in an almost empty restaurant), I had to approach her myself. When I explained that I believed I had received the incorrect order, her response was to LAUGH. She never uttered a word, just giggled like a schoolgirl. Fortunately her coworker that had so raptly captured her attention had the decency to look appalled, and he did come around the bar to assist me. He confirmed that I had received the incorrect meal and quickly remedied it. However, I was left wishing I should have at least tried the first plate because my actual choice was barely edible. The guacamole was a complete joke (by the way, I asked for a side of guacamole because it does not mention that it comes on the side in the menu, and rather than telling me it already comes with the entree, my waitress happily brought a 1/2 cup serving in a separate bowl and proceeded to charge me $3.49 for it). The tortillas tasted like plastic, the beans and rice tasted like they had been prepared at least 3 days earlier, and the entrees were indescribably awful. I am a huge fan of Mexican food and have visited hundreds of Mexican restaurants, and even the worst Mexican buffet beats this food. I will admit my experience was worsened by the despicable attitude of our waitress, but fortunately I was able to reward her poor service and attitude with an equally poor tip. I have been to the Corona's on McCravy Drive and enjoyed every second of my time there. I will NEVER make the mistake of visiting this place again and based on the experience I had would advise others to stay away.

Corona has never disappointed. Our first choice for Mexican and a regular place for dinner. The food is good and very inexpensive. The service is always friendly and quick.

Excellent! Reasonable! Friendly to a fault but that is not much of a complaint! Clean, pleasant atmosphere! Much better than other in the area we have tried. We will be back.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
