I'm always on the hunt for a good vegetarian sandwich place, and Converse Deli definitely hit the mark! Our realtor recommended this place when we were in town looking at houses, and I was very impressed by how many options I had to choose from (typically as a vegetarian, most places only offer some sort of eggplant or mushroom option -- neither of which I like!) I ended up trying the Vegetable Panini and it was delicious. The bread wasn't anything too special, but still very good and all the other sandwich ingredients were fresh & delicious (especially the asparagus). I already know this will be one of my go-to lunch spots once we move to Spartanburg. The restaurant is packed & loud, but I didn't mind - gave it a nice "lively" atmosphere for lunch. Service was good for as crowded as they were.

Tasty and filling tuna sandwich. We stopped on our way from Charleston to Cherokee and this place did not disappoint. I had a tuna sandwich and a cup of black bean soup. Both were delicious.

My favorite is the Chicken Marsala. Excellent dish that they severe up. Kind of expensive though.

A fantastic local eatery that uses all local ingredients. They only have a few vegetarian options, but they are all fantastic. For lunch, they have three vegetarian sandwiches, all of which I have tried and all are fantastic. I recommend the panini. For dinner, which is much pricier than lunch, we'd kill for their veggie stir fry; it is SO good. The strawberry tea is a must! Service is always great and the weight staff is so nice.

Wonderful place for lunch. Great wraps and soups. The best is the War Eagle but I'm partial, having attended Auburn. They will make my friend & I chips w/ spicy pimento cheese melted on top w/ sausage as an appetizer. It's awesome.

Very good place for a great lunch. My friend and I arrived when they were fairly busy, and after seating ourselves our waitress came and got our drink orders. I love tons of lemon in my tea and she bought plenty when I asked for it. She fulfilled every request we asked. We were we indecisive about wether or not we wanted to get some loaded potato soup she bought us a sample to see if we liked it. The soup was pretty good, but had to manny carrots for our liking. We both ordered the Club House and had them prepared differently from the menu. Our waitress said they can prepare any sand which any way you like it. Our sandwiches filled us up. They were piled high with meat, and good quality Boars Head meat. By far the best part of our visit was our waitress. She is among one of the best we've ever had. She made sure we were satisfied with our experience. We will be back!

The best place in Spartanburg for a quick and health lunch made from local ingredients. If you are looking for some of the best local sandwiches, then you have come to the right place. Everything here is made fresh from ingredients grown locally and there is a ton of different options to choose from. Service can be a bit slow during the lunch rush, but the wait is well worth it. Portion sizes are large enough to satisfy and the prices are fair. My favorites are the Pilgram and the War Eagle. The dinner menu is pretty good as well, but a bit on the pricey side for my taste.

I went for lunch and had an awesome avocado tuna melt. And try out their strawberry iced tea! My only complaint was the service was a little shotty but it may have been due to how busy they were considering it was a packed house, rather than a true lack of performance by their wait staff. I'll be going back regularly!

Great lunch, delicious coffee! Love the staff - all so friendly and attentive! I had the Grown Up Grilled Cheese with a cup of Tomato Basil soup - the soup was a little sweet for my taste, but I get it if they added sugar to cut the acidity, it was really smooth and fresh. Did I mention the awesome coffee?? Had three cups + one to go. Yum! My mom is the pickiest eater/worst customer EVER, and she didn't have a single complaint! This place isn't much to look at, but it is a great spot for a quick lunch!

Went here with my daughter for a quick lunch. I'm not a fan of the chips or how crowded the place is but the sandwiches are pretty good. If this place was bigger, I would probably want to return. Since its so small and I have to bump elbows with the person beside me when I am eating, I don't think I will be back.
