I love barbecue and have tried all styles and have found something to like about them all. Bubba's is alright, but to me it was too greasy and doesn't rank up there with Charlie's, Mutts or Bucky's. Besides their barbecue I also tried the Mac and cheese which I thought was greasy and the fried okra. The okra was pretty good, and actually the least greasy thing I tried. Also, Bubba's is a little pricey for the quality of the food, but the portions seemed generous enough. I probably wouldn't go back unless my barbecue jones got so bad that Bubba's barbecue was better than no barbecue.

This place is down to earth and has mighty good food. If you like ribs or bbq, then you must come here. They have a pick 2 or 3 plate. If you get 3, add the smoked sausage. It's all good. Ribs fall off the bone and the bbq melts in your mouth. Nicest people you'll ever meet behind the counter. I stop here anytime I'm close to Spartanburg. You should too!

Yummy! Great bbq and fantastic sides!! Beef brisket sandwich and pulled pork-- mustard sauce was fantastic. Mac n cheese, sweet potato, and southern slaw all perfect! Staff was super friendly too. Iced tea tasted a little "off" was the only down side.

I got the half rack of ribs, with sauce, baked beans, slaw, and a side of Mac and. Geese. It came with three delicious crispy hush puppies. The slaw was a bit too spicy for me but was good; it was chopped smaller than most. The Mac and cheese was good, not creamy, but very southern, and the beans delicious. The ribs fell off the bone and they satisfied my craving for BBQ. The place is bright with a couple of TVs on different channels both on mute. There was music playing. The temperature was a bit warm. Service friendly and efficient. I'll be back.

Got the hash plate.....too salty to eat...not very good hash. BBQ coleslaw salty and spicy. Only the gash Browns were good.

I will not be back. My husband was in line, which was long, and he sent me to get a seat, since I have recently had total knee replacement. As I was beginning to sit down at the only available table, the woman at the register very loudly shouted, "ma'am, that is their table! You can't sit there!" Then she pointed at people who were still in line. Keep your BBQ! I'll find a place where people still have enough manners to not shout at their customers! You'll never get another dime from me!

You must eat here! This is easily the best BBQ I have ever tasted! My husband and I are on our way to Hilton Head Island and needed a place to stop for lunch. At the South Carolina welcome center, we picked up a BBQ map (I thought it was quirky lol). We picked a place close to us and I was leery about trying a new place spontaneously without reading reviews. But... Wow! The decor is low key, and clean. Staff is very friendly. I ordered the BBQ pork "sammich" with southern slaw.... Wow!

This is at least a every other weekend destination for me. I've heard everything on the menu is great, but I specifically go on Fri or Sat for the brisket. Awesome smoke flavor, just the right amount of fat. Sides are great as well...Highly recommended the hush puppies. Service is quick and friendly.

So glad Spartanburg finally has a really great barbecue restaurant!! My husband and I went there tonight for supper. The pulled pork had a great smoke flavor and was super juicy. I got the bbq plate with macaroni pie and seasoned fries, both of which were delicious. I love macaroni with bbq. It was the old fashioned kind. The staff were friendly and the place was clean. I loved it. My husband said the baked beans weren't anything special. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some great bbq.

Ordered the pick 3 with ribs, pulled pork and chicken. All of it was excellent, ribs had great flavor, pork was moist and flavorful. 3 choices of sauce on the table offered the opportunity to experiment with flavors. BBQ slaw was something different but good, and the Mac and cheese was excellent. A nice surprise was the hush puppies, which were moist and full of flavor. Being from NYC, traveling has afforded me the chance to try a lot of bbq across the country, and this was in the top 10. Place was clean, atmosphere was nice and staff was very friendly. I highly recommend you try this place if you are in the area

I've just move here and haven't had a lot of BBQ form the south. So i have to say I'm not impressed. Ive had TX, AZ, CA, and a ton of other states and place's that had a lot better. I came early on a morning with a few people in. I think they could tell I'm not for here. I asked for some brisket, and was told they only had it on fri and sat. I had a pulled pork sandwich, sweet tea and fries. Hated the fries soggy cold and dry, the sandwich was pretty dry and bland. I wasn't a fan of the sauce. Ive never been back.

Pork was so good with such a nice smoke flavor that I didn't put any sauce on it at all. Ribs were good but needed sauce tender. Mac & cheese is excellent as are the green beans. Nice tomato-based sauce a little spice. Onion rings were great, very thin almost like onion straws. Hot and fresh.

Good place. I got the combo with ribs and BBQ and my sides were cole slaw and baked beans. I have to say the BBQ with there sauce was very good but the ribs wasn't that good at all the outside of the meat was hard. But over all good place

This place deserves 5 stars for price, product and service. I got a full rack of ribs with two gigantic sides (potato salad and macaroni pie a.k.a. macaroni salad) and a drink for $22. Be advised that I'm not the kind of guy who notates, admires or even factors in decorum when I dine out. Bubba's is a no-frills restaurant with damned good ribs. Period. The ribs were cooked with either a combination of charcoal and wood chips or straight charcoal. Whatever the case, I would assume that they slow-cooked them because I looked at the rack of ribs and they fell off the bone. They were that tender. I barely touched them and the meat slipped right off of the ribs. That's a great sign. My rack was sticky and flavorful with a hint of vinegar in the sauce. The ribs had great bark with just that little hint of charcoal in the taste. The potato salad wasn't sloppy and it wasn't reductionist; it was just right. The macaroni pie was chock full of cheese and it was gooey and rich. My friend works for the Spartanburg P.D. and he recommended Bubba's. If there's one thing I've learned in 40 years it's that you can always trust a cop, a fireman or an E.M.T. when it comes to their food recommendations. They eat out a lot so they've run the gauntlet of dine-in, takeout and delivery. Bubba's does not disappoint. If you're a Barbeque aficionado you need to go there!

Couldn't ask for a friendlier place, & some of THE best cooked BBQ. Pork & chicken were both tender, moist, & delicious just on their own. Mustard sauce is good, & when mixed with the red gives a very spicy sauce with just a little sweetness. The fried okra, though, just knocked my socks off -- not overcooked, moist, & cooked in obviously fresh oil. Marvelicious!

Best hamburger within miles. I recommend telling them how you want cooked because if not it will be well done. But still good if that is what you like. BBQ is awesome too.

It was pretty good. I was a little surprise. I didn't think you could find some good food in this South Carolina. I had the BBQ plate and it was good. I like how when you eat in they give you a choice of how much sauce on the your food. The staff was very nice and made feel like I was at moms house.

We asked for a local BBQ place and this was suggested to us ! When we walked in they greeted us with smiling faces ! I had the special which was sliced beef brisket and 2 sides . The brisket was so tender, and I chose creamy coleslaw & hush puppies both were wonderful !! Very friendly and clean

Great food. Polite staff. Clean, nice atmosphere. We walked in for a late lunch @1:45 and were immediately seated. A bit pricey for a BBQ place but you get plenty. Will go again.

Where is the cornbread? A bbq joint with no corn bread is sad. Food was good. Fried okra and MAC & cheese are great. Staff was super friendly.
