Best Mexican around!! I've tried several other places and it's all nasty compared to Los amigos! They have the best chips and salsa and cheese dip!! U always get chicken and cheese quesadilla and my 2 younger girls get the combo; beef burrito that comes with rice and beans. Nobody beats Los amigos not puerto Nuevo, not el jimador, not papas and beer. !!!!!!! If it's your first time to Los amigos I suggest the cheese dip with your chips and salsa as soon as you sit down !!!!! Mmmmmmmm

We had great staff here tonight. The service was excellent all the way around from the host, waiter, and management. They were quick, answered questions, and not overbearing or pushy. The waiter also had a good command of the menu and handled vegetarian recommendations well. The food was large in portion and seems fairly fresh. It was pretty bland, though, and there was no mole on the menu. It's hard for me to trust a Mexican restaurant that doesn't dish up mole.

Probably the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever eaten in. The service was passable but not friendly. The salsa was bland. I had the fajitas; the chicken and beef were tough and tasteless. No guacamole. At least the Modelo was cold. Skip this one, Taco Bell is better.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I ended up here because it was close to a directionally challenged friend's hotel. The service was fast and friendly and I found the food pretty good considering the location. If you're dying for Mexican in the Clemson area I would definitely check them out.

Decent Mexican food but inconsistent. Sometimes the chips are thin and fresh other times they're dry. Sometimes the chicken is perfectly cooked, on another day it might be undercooked with no taste. The salsa can be moderately spiced or super picante. The service is professional and the place has a festive atmosphere and a comfortable bar. Now if they could only prepare their food with more consistency. I only go here about once a month and after much debate because you never know what you're going to get.

This is not worth your time. There is absolutely no flavor. Not even salt. The salsa tasted like a mushy tomato. There wasn't anything wrong with the food or service. Just tasted bland, dry, and lack of portion size. Taco Bell has more flavor. Skip it.

Not quite as great the second time around. I will give some credit for the fact that I wasn't feeling that well to begin with. But, still, nothing stood out for me here this time or for any of the rest of my party either. It was okay.

My daughter review (Dawn E.) basically sums it up. The food was good (I am still looking for the best) The only complaint I had was the waiter should have asked if we want a half pitcher of Margaritas which was a better deal,,,,, Well I have been here 3 times. The first time the food was very good, secon time almost as good and the last time not very good... It is still the best Mexican restaurant I have found so far, but, I will keep searching. It's a tough job, but, somebody has to do it....... :-)

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
