Dang I love this place. I've been going here for around 30 years and it's the one I long for while stranded up in Yankee territory. This is no frills dining. Bring a big appetite to fill up those styrofoam plates with that impressive spread. Some of the standouts here are, in no particular order: the hash, the chicken, the corn nuggets, the hush puppies, and the banana pudding. And there's a surprising amount of vegetables to go along. You don't see rutabagas on many BBQ buffets, but they rock it here. But the star in my opinion is the mild barbecue sauce. My best guess is that the base is a combination of mayonnaise and mustard, but I'm not sure. It's a bit creamy and on the thicker side--you won't find sauces like this outside the Lowcountry. I would definitely buy it by the bottle if they sold it. Another commenter noted that the pork is roasted and not smoked. That's true. Everyone has a different idea of what "real barbecue" is--ribs, pork, beef, vinegar-based, mustard-based, etc. Different strokes. Personally, I don't miss the smoke here. I'm coming for the rest of the buffet anyway.

This place is amazing. Come early because the line starts forming before dinner. The entire buffet is amazing. Vegetables are seasoned correctly, hash is delicious, corn nuggests are yummy and the fried chicken is really great. They offer sweet tea, unsweet and lemonade. Sauces are done right. Plan to eat your fill as there is no taking food when you leave. You paid for dinner or lunch not for a midnight snack. This place has not changed much since they opened and I like that it has this charm. Cash only.

Amazing buffet featuring roasted pork, fried chicken, amazing southern style green beans, and some of the best hash I have ever had. The building is not much on the eyes, but this just adds to the overall character of the place. $10 bucks for all you can eat low country barbecue and unlimited sweet tea, what's not to love!?

It's not BBQ, it's roasted pork. BBQ is smoked meat. When meat is smoked, it has a telltale pink smoke ring along with a smoky flavor. It's all you can eat, but I didn't even finish one plate. I'm from fucking Ohio and I know this isn't BBQ, it's a hog roast on the weekends here. Oh, one more weird thing, you can't take any leftovers with you. They have large signs everywhere about it. I wasn't all butt hurt about it, but I could see how some people might be.

My wife and I stopped here on our way home from visiting her grandparents at Christmas. We were treated very rudely by both staff and customers, as was the only other family from out of state (immediately identifiable by the presence of all their teeth). This is quite a surprise for a business with a sign on I-95. For drinks it's only water, sweet tea, or unsweetened tea, except when we went they were out of the first two with no sugar to be found. Also, our food was cold, not like lukewarm I've had better, but cold. Barbecue sauce was mediocre at best, Sweet Baby Ray's is better and you won't be subjected to glares from the cast of Deliverance when you grab a bottle of that. All around a bad experience. I'm usually very forgiving of questionable service as I've worked in restaurants and know things aren't always perfect. This was the worst service and food I've ever paid for. Just like another commenter, I threw most of mine away. Wouldn't recommend to my in-laws...

Very good BBQ! I would give it a 4.5. The only problem is that it's 40 minutes from my house, which is probably a good thing. Nice people that work there, lots of items on the menu. And yes, even CORN NUGGETS!!! The mild sauce is soooo good, I could honestly drink it if they let me. The lima beans, black eyed peas, bbq, and chicken were great. The blueberry cobbler and nana puddin' were phenomenal. It's cheap, $8.55 after tax for the buffet. If you go, go early. We got there around 6 and it was jam packed, hardly enough room to sit. Unfortunately, we got there right when they ran out of the Mac and Cheese. They literally picked the pan up when I got to the line. Made me cry a little. Oh well, hopefully they have some when I go next time.

Best BBQ in the area. Sweatman's in Holly Hill gets the attention, but this is the place you want to go.

I've been going to Dukes in Ridgeville since forever. Love the hash, chicken and pork. It's always the same. People are very nice. They have signs up everywhere disclaiming any association with any other Dukes. Every town seems to have one. They especially want people to know they are not associated with Summerville.

So they do have the mustard sauce. We ate in this time and it was excellent. Nice selection of country veggies. Pork was a little dry but everything else was outstanding. I didn't try the chicken but people were practically falling into it so maybe I should have. And the banana pudding? Oh... the banana pudding. It is so light and fluffy there - learned their secret is sour cream Go figure. Everyone there is so pleasant and helpful, I'll definitely be back. Watch out though - as with Sweatmans, these folks are only open Fridays & Saturdays and only cash or checks (no credit cards).

This is a great joint. Flew in for a few hours on a Sunday. Cafeteria style BBQ. I like the hash, which I've never had but next time I'll pass on the rice. Hush puupies, corn fritters, okra...delicious. I had pork which was juicy and fresh! Sauces were all wonderful (mustard was my fav!). Nice people. Cheap cheap cheap
