Stayed here last weekend...what a friendly staff! Great room, very clean, warm, inviting. This is a hidden gem that unfortunately..for them..but fortunately for me is not well known to Clemson University visitors. Convenient to campus and has a cute little town very close as well. Will stay here again next time I visit my daughter at school. Did I mention the restaurant...well we did not have a chance to have anything other than breakfast due to the hectic schedule but they have a wonderful outside dining area..cool little bar..and a nice old southern dining room. The ceilings in this place must be 20 feet high. Southern charm and staff that has terrific pride in offering exceptional customer service and a terrific dining experience!

It was our first but for sure not our last time! We had a Yungeling (Cheese) Dip as appetizer, a real must have, it was to absolutely delicious, and the Pizza we had was yummy!!! We think it is the best pizza we had so far here in this are! We will be back!!!
We have been craving a good pie in South Carolina, and we found it. We have been spoiled with great pizza in New Haven and this is in the same ballpark. Great crispy crust, sauce and ingredients. It will be a staple in our restaurant rotation.
A co-worker recommended. I am glad I did. The taste experience was I had experienced once prior to the Pittsburgh area before. The New York style of taste, ingredients and that special textured oven baked crust. You can tell these pies are different from your local chain want-a-be pizza pies. the ingredients are fresh and the crust has that distinct stone pizza oven texture and slight crunchy texture and taste. the fresh ingredients taste just explodes of being different while in your mouth. The best thing that has come to the south to accompany southern weather.

Food was terrific. Had the quesadilla appetizers. Full of flavor, nice sized portion. Ate dinner here on a Friday night. The place was very noisy. It is a pub after all. Entrees were delicious. I had the jambalaya and was not disappointed. Waitress was Ok. She forgot a few things a couple of times, but it was no big deal. Rest rooms were not well kept. Needs updating. If I could give 3.5 stars I would. The waitress was friendly and nice, just a little forgetful. Establishment was indeed noisy, but maybe I should expect that seeing that it is a pub. The bathrooms are pretty bad. More suited for a bar rather than a restaurant. I saw the men's room, but my wife said the ladies wasn't that great either.
We are weekend regulars at the Islander. Definitely a positive, local feel and great food - especially the Cobb salad, burgers and the sesame salmon dish. Blue cheese dressing here is awesome as well. We like sitting at the bar, but it is popular and always crowded!
Great pub-- this place serves great food and cold beers in nice clean mugs (unlike the Backstreet Pub). The restrooms are clean and the people that work there are friendly.

Great place in a small town. There's two sides to the business here- one is the bakery, with breads, sweets, and desserts. Great if you want something quick with a cup of coffee. Has tables. The other door is the restaurant - full meals, breakfast and lunch. The French toast with challah and the omelettes are best. They do close at 3.
First, don't go in a hurry on a Sunday morning. Around Clemson, there are few places to eat a good Sunday Brunch. For that reason, expect a wait. Second, the service was slow and the hostess was somewhat short. But, she was the hostess and busperson. So, I am cutting her slack on that. We had to wait too long for our check (with a line out the door of people waiting for tables). My suggestion- hire additional staff on a Sunday morning! Third, the food was really good, especially the pastries. I especially enjoyed the variety. From shrimp and grits to meatballs or maybe some babaganoush, the main course was varied and tasty. But make no mistake, the pastries are what you should come for. We loved the Italian Cream Cake, shortbread pastries with two different fillings, cinnamon puff pastries, baklava, and the macaroon that was like eating a Mounds. We will be back- when we have plenty of time, because around Clemson, this is one of the better options for Sunday Brunch.
This was the best breakfast I've ever had. The staff was great. They were absolutely slammed and there was to be "no rush". The staff did the best they could with a line out the door. Enough about that... The food. My lord the food was incredible. The four of us tried everything on the menu and we all had to unbutton our pants when we were done! Local eggs and produce filled our bellies. The bakery joining it. What? We bought one of everything and ate on it the whole weekend. Unbelievable! I remained in a sugar coma for three days afterwards. Village cafe will always be on my *must eat* list when in Clemson. What are you waiting for...

New Bojangles in Pendleton. Easy place to stop between I-85 and Clemson. Being so new the place is sparkling clean and everything is shiny. Great service and good people running the show here are friendly and helpful. Other than that the same great Bojangles fast food is available.
