    We've visited with a somewhat large group - make a reservation - three years in a row while on vacation, and every year this has been a highlight of the trip. The shrimp and scallops with grits and truffle butter is the most decadent thing i have ever eaten. If you want to know what sin tastes like, here it is on a plate for you! Go "beach dressy" and class yourself up a bit.

    Make it a point to eat here! The food, the service, the atmosphere! It's quaint. The crab soup, seasonal salads, and shrimp were delicious. The desserts we sampled made my eyes well up. The hostesses, bus boys, servers, bartenders, and cooks worked together as a team. You asked for nothing, they predicted everything! The group I went with ate there three times that Week!

    My favorite seafood restaurant period. Anytime I am down in the Pawley's/Litchfield area it is a must to go to this place. I usually go for dinner but both are great. Appetizer: Pan Sauteed Conch: spiced rum butter sauce, jalapeno, scallions, tomatoes. Definitely a great choice. Main course: Fish Du Jour "zucchini spaghetti" silver queen corn, grape tomatoes, tarragon cream. Mahi Mahi tonight so good. I also tried the grouper and the scallop cake both which were also amazing. The fried green tomatoes here are also some of the best I have ever had as well.

    I had a really great time here. The food was really good and the people who come here seem really easy going and fun loving. The filet, I ordered Blue - it didn't exactly come out blue, but it was definitely rare and it was delicious. The mashed potatoes, mushrooms and sauce were all exquisite. It surely won't disappoint. I then ordered the Peach Cobbler for dessert - generous portion and it was really good. There was a bit of a wait... Granted, we sat at the bar and the bartender was inundated so, things crawled but the food was great, its a neat atmosphere and reasonably priced. The owners were also very present and friendly which is, of course, really nice and made the experience much more charming. Definitely a place I would go for a solid experience with friends and family.

    This place is fantastic. Very very good food. We'll worth the price. I'd like to see more non seafood choices. Service is way above. A bit noisy, but it was very busy inside, which is a good yhing. They have outdoor patio service also. I will return for sure.

    Came here for a dinner with the family and was not disappointed. No member of our party complained about any of their food choices. The she crab soup was delicious and the fish entrees were fresh and perfectly cooked. The seared tuna entree was sushi grade and one of the best prepared dishes that I have eaten. Due to the place being packed we had to eat in the outside dining area but the quality of the food made us forget the hot muggy weather. We will definitely be back.

    A really nice place with excellent food. Some of the menu items are in the $30 per plate zip code, but you can eat at a very reasonable price here. I started with a cup of She Crab soup for $7. It was very thick, almosy like a clam chowder consistency. It was so good - smooth, creamy, great taste- just excellent. I had the Asian Noodles (linguine topped with a spicy peanut sauce, chicken and assorted vegetables) for $15. I requested it extra spicy and it came out perfect!! Great peanut flavor, lots of chicken, and a lot of heat. It was a great dish. My wife had the Short Rib Ravioli ($15) and it looked great- five or six meaty monster sized raviolis. The dining room is modestly sized, but they have a big outdoor dining room off to the side. This was a very enjoyable meal, one of the better meals we had on Pawleys Island.

    We had an excellent meal in a lovely setting -- sitting outside on a balmy evening in late August was great. The fried green tomato appetizer was yummy, and the wide selection of entrees made it hard to choose -- but I went with the filet mignon and did not regret it. I only wish we'd had time to stay for desert -- the options sounded great. Maybe next time.

    The food was wonderful but the waiter named Pete tried to ruin our entire experience by refusing to separate our checks. There were 20 of us. We asked him to reconsider but again he refused..he said his manager backed him up..we asked to speak to the manager that never showed..Instead another waiter named Geri arrived..she was pleasant and separated our checks and we had a great time. We tipped her very well so if you choose to go...never never sit in Petes section!! He was rude and terrible!

    Ah the Chive Blossom! I've been here a few times, and have never been disappointed. I had a signature martini, it went down pretty easy, and the she crab soup? The BEST! Creamy, loaded with fresh crab. Wanted another cup, but resisted. My entree was their bouillabaisse with shrimp, scallops, Mahi Mahi and crab. OMG a huge bowl. Soo delicious, even better than I could have hoped. I'm pretty sure it had some cheese in it, and I loved the fresh greens on the top. I Couldn't eat it all so I had it for lunch the next day, and it was even better! I could have licked the bowl. We have friends in this area and we are always jealous when they check in at the Chive Blossoms. We'll be there next year!

    Not much to add. Other reviews cover it all. Very good food with local ingredients. Good selection of healthy vegetarian dishes and traditional dishes. As one reviewer pointed out, and I agree, wish there were more seafood choices. Portions are comparatively small, but sufficient, and prices are comparatively high but fair. Expect to spend about $15 for a lunch entree. Excellent selection of wine, beer and specialty drinks. Service was good, not outstanding. I'd return.

    Cute little house on Pawleys Island. Food sounded interesting but was just so-so to me. We had a fig and bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer, the fish special with tarragon sauce, and the fried fish platter. The service was good, full bar with a great wine menu. It was business casual. Bathroom, have to go outside the restaurant but, still inside the house-kinda weird you have to leave the restaurant around to the backside. Gravel driveway with decent parking. Outdoor dining area too-people were taking picturesthere!

    This is a sweet place to eat! The atmosphere is "seaside artsy", warm and inviting- great gathering place for a group of friends or a date. The menu offers a wide variety of "not the usual" fare. Great soups, quiche, and sandwiches so tall you can't fit them in your mouth!

    We have been dining here one or two times a year since just after it opened. Our favorites remain on the menu which does not seem to have changed much. Our latest dinner left us feeling disappointed. We enjoyed a bottle of Willamette Pinot Noir from the extensive wine list and it was excellent and fairly priced. The crab soup was very special, well spiced, enough sherry and crab and had the right consistency. The pasta with shrimp was good but I wanted the shrimp to be pan sautéed or grilled. Those in the dish seems to have been boiled as they had no color and were undetectably spiced. We always order the Southern Boullibaisse and this execution seemed different and less pleasant them others we've enjoyed. The stock lacked acid and spice and was dominated by okra thickening. We recall there being more tomato to balance the okra. The vegetables and seafood added were fresh and excellent. To our taste, both the entrees lacked salt so we added it after requesting some from the server. The blueberry cobbler was excellent. Altogether we felt kitchen execution had declined. Our server was moderately attentive but we felt rushed so they could turn the table. There were three very large and loud parties present who shouted at each other across tables and made it very difficult to have a conversation. This is a fine dining restaurant not a sports bar. Unfortunately, this kind of behavior is quite typical in the US in contrast to Europe, and there is little the house can or will do about it. You might want to wear long sleeves as the AC blows very strongly and is quite cold. Despite having made a reservation we were seated at a less desirable table.

    Favorite restaurant in the Pawley's area, maybe anywhere! She crab soup is amazing but very rich, only need the "taste" size. My all time favorite is the unique watermelon salad. This trip our party had scallop cake, fried green tomato napoleon, filet mignon, grouper, fried seafood platter and bouillabaisse. All were wonderful, as was the wait staff. Its certainly not cheap but worth it if you are looking for a bit of splurge while staying laid back and beach- relaxed this is the place.

    Fun lunch with family over the holidays. The asian noodles and fried seafood sampler were hits. And, my fried green tomato sandwich with homemade pimento chesse, avacado and apple smoked bacon was delish. The shared creme brulee for dessert was something to fight over. Service was excellent. Living part-time in Pawleys, we'll definitely be back!

    Came down to South Carolina from Michigan and this was probably the best meal we had the whole time. The grouper de jour was absolutely fantastic. Good service and great ambiance!

    Pros on the place: cute place, nice atmosphere, nice server Pros on the food: very good she-crab soup and crab quiche Pros on the price: none Cons on the place: small, bathrooms outside and down the porch Cons on the food: small salad with quiche was mostly baby kale and even my husband who juices kale and eats a salad every night didn't like it, very overpoweringly bad taste, husband got the fishermen's platter- must be a small fisherman - as the $18 "platter" had two small pieces of fish, two scallops (I'll get back to those) two oysters, okra, grits. Every thing but the size of the platter was fine except the scallops. We eat scallops out and cook them ourselves so we know a good scallop- these weren't. Sent them back. Got two more, they were really undercooked. Gave up on the scallops. They comped my soup $7 for the bad scallops. Son had fried shrimp and handcut fries. He said the shrimp were "hard". I tried one and they were very overcooked. Fries were brown not a nice golden color, I tried one of the lighter ones, it was ok. Cons on the price: way over priced for what we got. We were in the area on vacation but I wouldn't recommend.

    My wife wanted to go there because the name was cute. Turns out the food was quite fantastic and service was great. The smaller sips of soup were great starters before the meal. All three were happy with our food - quiche, quesadillas, and the salmon. Pretty extensive wine selection too.

    If me and my sisters are visiting in the area this is the place to good for dinner. We love it! Everything is Sooo fresh. A little on the pricey side if you get salad, entree, and dessert, but the entrees are awesome.

    Amazing food, appalling customer service. Chive Blossom's chef has consistently delivered five-star dishes over the last two years - especially those using locally-sourced ingredients, including fish. It's been one of my favorite places to go. However, I'm not sure I'd go again as result of the treatment I experienced at the hands of both the wait staff and management. Go for the food, but don't complain if you're served something you don't like.

    My wife and I loved this restaurant! We wanted at least one night on our honeymoon to really go all out and this was definitely the place for that. The food was phenomenal, and the atmosphere was romantic. You definitely get what you pay for here. We will most likely return to The Chive Blossom in the future.

    Lovely atmosphere, food was very good, server, Jesse-attentive. Upon arriving there appeared to be 3 open tables, a duos by a wall and two-foursomes. I was seated at the duos and asked for another table because I didn't want to sit next to a wall albeit the wall was part glass. The hostess said it may be a 40 minute wait...she would have to check. I agreed to take the duos since we drove 46 miles just to dine at this cafe and I didn't want to wait. Two women entered immediately after we arrived and then a single diner. The two women were seated at a foursome and the single diner was seated at the second foursome. What is going on here? The immediate thing that comes to mind is that since we are of color, the foursome is reserved for "others." Really? I said something to the hostess and she weakly uttered something. Very disappointing.

    Our family came here for lunch one day during vacation and had an amazing lunch! We all started off with some drinks, I had painkiller, which was delicious, while other good drinks others had were a grapefruit martini and a great dark and stormy. There were other good ones but i forgot their names. I had the low country tomato basil pie and a cup of the she crab soup. The she crab soup was rich and flavorful, and the tomato basil pie was outstanding. The portions were small but I didn't mind, the food was too good to complain! Other great plates that I saw relatives get were the bahn mi, chicken livers, asian noodles, and spinach bacon quiche. Everyone was more than satisfied with their meals! As for the decor, it's very cozy inside, feel like you're in a cafe. They have a great looking shaded outdoor patio/seating area too. I would definitely recommend making a stop if you're in the area.

    Recommended by a lady who knows food, my wife and I hit this place on our way back from a foodie jag to the Holy City and luckily got in due to a cancellation and we're grateful! Service makes the difference at times and this was one of those. DEE, our server, was a stone-cold professional in every regard, service above and beyond the norm; ask for her. As we were "tasting" as much of each restaurant's menu as we could at each stop, taking food back to our hotels, we over-ordered from Chef Trina's menu. Started with: She-crab soup and Crab, Vidalia and Artichoke spread with lavash chips/bread. The soup was deep and velvety, truly rich, but a bit over on the salt, crab dip was divine! Chef does not scrimp on ingredients; both were chock-full of the good stuff, generous portions, both. Next we had the Low Country Oyster Pie and this thing is a MILE deep in flavor profile, a sort of scalloped/baked oysters for grown-ups, savory does not begin to encompass the richness of this dish, also generously portioned, big enough to share. I then sampled wife's salad, Chive Blossom Chopped Salad and the dressing was the star of this show, mildly sweet-tart, complimented perfectly the various nuts, cheese, egg, onion; well done, Chef. Wife has the Seafood Pot Pie which is crab, shrimp and scallops topped with a puff pastry wedge and again, like the crab dip and oyster pie, it followed in that mode of deep flavor profile which can only be attained with properly prepared stocks, fantastic! I had the Crab Cakes entrée, two 4-5 ounce crab cakes served with a drizzle of Béarnaise, creamy mashed potatoes, sautéed baby asparagus, a huge offering portion-wise and it would have been perfect had I not watched the expediter leave it under the lights for 19 minutes before sending it, no idea who dropped the ball on the line. I wish I'd had them fresh-hot, but maybe next time. A bit mushy at the center but colored up nicely outside. Hint of horseradish, very faint, not bad. We also ordered a go-dish of the Crab Crepes, ate them later, heavenly, even re-warmed in the oven. For dessert we split the berry and crumb cake offering, served with creamy ice cream, ate it all at the restaurant and surely recommend it, or anything, for that matter, that Chef Trina is offering because this lady is serious about her art and it shows through in every single dish. This is where chefs eat, places like this. And, for superior, and I mean top-of-the-line service, I'd request Dee, none finer. Noise level is extremely loud, even with acoustic dampener panels installed throughout so try and sit somewhere away from the glass windows which reverberate and make conversation across the table almost impossible. Also, they have an outdoor seating area that can handle fifty or so covers and might be nice on a pleasant evening. Parking is hectic, gravel lot, unmarked, so watch out for erratic traffic and parking by others. I would have given it a 5 Star if I had not watched my entrée sit until it was cold; however, Dee quickly remedied the problem and for that I will give HER a 5 out of 5.

    We love Chive Blossom - the food, atmosphere and service are great! Even though it was super crowded, we were sat promptly at our reservation time! For an appetizer, we split the fried green tomatoes. They are the best - we love the pimento cheese and red pepper jelly combination! We also split the Caesar salad. Great flavor, but it does have anchovies on it. For our entrees, we both had the trout. It's the best trout we've ever had. Perfectly seasoned and crusted with pecans. Love it! Service was awesome! Dee was outstanding! Can't wait to go back again soon!

I wanted to treat my family to a special dinner night out to kick off our vacation. We really liked the way the place looked and the atmosphere. It was a like a trailer home, but with wood floors, a full bar and tables. Lighting was low and romantic. The floors creaked and it had great decorations ---very eclectic! The dress was more upscale with cabana shirts and khakis (for guys). We felt out of place with our t-shirts, shorts, and baseball caps. No appetizers ordered. We asked the server what she suggested and she said 4 items were her favorites. Based on that, we ordered the Southern Bouillabaisse and the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes for the adults and the chicken fingers/fries for the children. The adult dishes were beautiful to look at....sure wish they tasted as good as they looked. To be completely honest, my wife liked the crab cakes but they didn't demand the $32 price. I tried the cakes and they were good, but I think I have had better. The mash potatoes side were good. The asparagus that came with them was poor. The ends were tough...almost like they forgot to snap them at the weak spot. My Southern Bouillabaisse was very bland. Both my wife and I tried it and it did not have a lot of flavor. I tried salt and pepper and that didn't do anything for it. I did finish the dish because I was so hungry (it was 9pm), but I felt I had flushed $29 down the drain. At least the kids chicken fingers and fries were good, right? Unfortunately no. We are still joking about them today. The fingers were $8.95 and included fries. Actually, the fingers looked like the fries. In the low light, we could barely tell the difference. They were so thin and the kids did not like them. They barely ate them. I tried them and they were so dry. You can't cut chicken breasts that thin and not have them dry out. We would not go back. Total bill was $81 without tip (they take American Express). Thankfully we did not order appetizers or alcohol or the bill would have been through the roof. If you like great atmosphere especially for a couple, this is your place. If you want great food, I would choose something else.

    I was very excited to try Chive Blossom because I had heard numerous rave reviews. And it was good - but I think a bit overrated and definitely overpriced. My group of 5 all agreed that our starters and desserts were better than the entrees. 4 out of 5 of us started with the She Crab Soup, which was delicious. My aunt said the crab slaw was one of the best salads she had ever had. The entrees were good but underwhelming, possibly just because I had such high expectations. I ordered shrimp pasta and was very disappointed that my shrimp had not been deveined. I also requested that they go light on the garlic only to have to remove 4 entire cloves of garlic from my plate. Again, the food was good but I don't think I would pay such high prices for that kind of food again.

    I just got back from my dinner at Chive Blossom Cafe - a perfect dinner in just about every way! I started with a glass of wine and the scallop special as an appetizer. It was three pan fried scallops cooked perfectly on a bed of sunchokes, Brussels sprouts and a veal jus. I was eating at the bar and a fellow patron asked me if I thought it was amazing - apparently my face just said it all after the first bite! And for dinner I had the filet mignon - cooked a perfect medium rare just as I had ordered with a Boursin cream and spinach. Just amazing. This small restaurant packs a huge punch. I had to leave as there was a table of 16 ladies in for a dinner party. The noise level was just too much for me and I quickly got my check and got out of there. My waitress, Pam, also is the bartender so she had her hands full with a very full dinner service. I will be visiting Chive Blossom Cafe the next time I'm in town!

    Stopped in for a "light" lunch and all of us got a bowl of the she crab soup. Excellent...best I've had. With the soup came fresh (hot) baked bread, which was also very good. Wine list was great. Had wines that even in California are hard to get. Reasonable wine prices for being on the opposite coast. This is a cute place that is more my style with fresh quality ingredients than what is up in Myrtle Beach (fry everything). Wish I could come back to try dinner here, but maybe next year!

    Great service, cool place. This is a little more upscale. I wore jeans and a nice shirt (thank goodness) and felt a little underdressed but no one cared. Our group of 3 ordered the black eyed pea spring rolls (just ok with great sauce that is like a chinese hot yellow mustard mixed with a marmalade), the fried oysters (very good), and the Okra Pancakes with shrimp & creole sauce (YUM!!!) We had fun sitting at the bar and sharing our food with eachother. They have a large community table we could have sat at but we chose the bar. Love the bartender - she is a sweetie. Would go back! Oh and make a reservation if you want inside at your own table. They had just opened the outside patio and I was a little too chilly to sit out there.

    Lovely atmosphere, food was very good, server, Jesse-attentive. Upon arriving there appeared to be 3 open tables, a duos by a wall and two-foursomes. I was seated at the duos and asked for another table because I didn't want to sit next to a wall albeit the wall was part glass. The hostess said it may be a 40 minute wait...she would have to check. I agreed to take the duos since we drove 46 miles just to dine at this cafe and I didn't want to wait. Two women entered immediately after we arrived and then a single diner. The two women were seated at a foursome and the single diner was seated at the second foursome. What is going on here? The immediate thing that comes to mind is that since we are of color, the foursome is reserved for "others." Really? I said something to the hostess and she weakly uttered something. Very disappointing.

    Our family came here for lunch one day during vacation and had an amazing lunch! We all started off with some drinks, I had painkiller, which was delicious, while other good drinks others had were a grapefruit martini and a great dark and stormy. There were other good ones but i forgot their names. I had the low country tomato basil pie and a cup of the she crab soup. The she crab soup was rich and flavorful, and the tomato basil pie was outstanding. The portions were small but I didn't mind, the food was too good to complain! Other great plates that I saw relatives get were the bahn mi, chicken livers, asian noodles, and spinach bacon quiche. Everyone was more than satisfied with their meals! As for the decor, it's very cozy inside, feel like you're in a cafe. They have a great looking shaded outdoor patio/seating area too. I would definitely recommend making a stop if you're in the area.

    My wife and I loved this restaurant! We wanted at least one night on our honeymoon to really go all out and this was definitely the place for that.     Took the wife there for a late lunch. Had the Warm Shrimp Panzanella, and it was excellent. Wife had the lump crab quiche, she liked it as well. Being the she-crab soup addict that I am, had a bowl of that too....very good. The atmosphere is very nice, and the service is friendly. I will go back for dinner next year for sure.

    This would get five stars if it were based solely on my dinner, but my husband's was slightly disappointing. The atmosphere was great - we sat outside and there was a live performer. The hummus was amazing and my dinner - the mediterranean salmon was phenomenal the way the salmon (cooked just like I like it) mixed with the artichokes, the calamata olives and the cracked black pepper. It was plenty to eat. My husband ordered the lamb tacos which we had read the great reviews on. I was a little diappointed to see that in a restaurant of this caliber, the lamb was ground lamb and did not have a very lamb-y flavor. The tzitki (sp) sauce was very good, but there was little room to construct the tacos on the plate - my husband was very frustrated trying to put his dinner together. Everything else was fabulous though!

    Trina, the owner and head chef, makes about four soups a night and they will knock your socks off! If you haven't had she-crab soup yet, try it. If it's white, have them add a bit of sherry- yum yum! Fried-green tomatoes, shrimp risotto, mussels, okra pancakes, lamb tacos (these are make-your-own). Oh Lord- take me home! I was always too cheap to get actual entrees- I went the small plate/apps route to get more flavors for my buck- but I have no doubt that they are worth every penny! The atmosphere of the restaurant is great, too. Great service, nice location. You won't leave hungry or unhappy, in other words!

    I searched high and low to find a good restaurant in the Myrtle Beach area and OMG Chive Blossom exceeded expectations in every way! The food was outstanding and the service was perfect and the ambiance (outdoor patio with live music) was an A+! We were a group of 6 so we had alot of different dishes - every dish was perfect to every person (impressive) but let me say that generally this seafood is super fresh and local and cooked perfectly and all the veggies are local too! All the food is well seasoned, the portions are huge we had them for breakfast the next day. The desserts were kick ass as well! This was one of the best meals on our trip to SC! Highlights: She Crab Soup Lamb Tacos Southern Bouillabaisse Shirmp/Scallops and truffle grits Fried Chicken Livers ANY DESSERT YOU COULD ORDER!!!! But if they have the brownie sundae you are in for a serious treat! This kitchen knows what it's doing and I would love to return again!

    Our group really enjoyed our lunch at Chive Blossom while down at Pawleys on vacation. The service was excellent. I had a "sip" of the She Crab Soup - creamy and delicious. The Chopped Salad was also a winner - pecans, cranberries, yum! I also heard good things about the Shrimp & Potato Salad. And of course, they are known for their Fried Green Tomato Sandwich with Bacon and Pimento Cheese. It's a really unique sandwich that is excellently made.

    We decided to pop in to this lovely spot on North Causeway on a whim. Beautiful flowers outside - the interior was completely updated with a nice bar, partly open kitchen and a full dining room. Our party was treated to outstanding service and some of the most delicious seafood we've enjoyed in years. Meal highlights include the outstanding Lowcountry Crab Dip and the Crab Cake entree. Each of our dishes offered a flavorful enhancement to some of the freshest seafood you could find. The Small Plates shouldn' be overlooked - my wife ordered the Scallop Cake with Spring Vegetable Orzo - outstanding. Do not miss the Chive Blossom Cafe!

    We sat outside on the patio and dined in an amazing atmosphere with great service. Would definitely reccomend the hummus. My mom got the bouillabaisse and said it was spectacular. I'm a vegetarian and the waiter was very good about changing a dish for me - I got the Greek lamb tacos without the lamb and they were delicious! Overall a great place with REAL food. Love it!

    Delicious. The SHE CRAB soup is the best I ever had!! I ordered the Asian Duck salad.....perfectly cooked duck! Our party also had the Crab Quiche, Salmon Sandwich, and Strawberry Salad but my duck salad was the best! They kept stealing the duck off my plate!! Disappointed they were sold out of a lot of the dishes were wanted to try.......aahh....which means we will HAVE to return!! This place is slightly expensive but worth it...heck you are on vacation!!!

    Went here with my wife and 2 of my 3 kids for dinner. We never heard much of the place. It was very classy inside. We were a bit under dressed, but hey it is Pawleys Island ;) Anyway the service was great. I ordered Korean Style Duck Tacos appetizer which was only (1) but it was delicious. It was like a pulled duck meat which really was different. I ordered a dozen local clams and a corn crusted grouper. It was all great.

    Very good, very surprised! You must get the Crab Nachos and the She Crab Soup. I had the Wild Salmon and wow was that delicious. Oh and if you have a chance try the Ghirardelli Brownie w/ Vbean Ice cream. And don't get me started on the wine list by far the best i have seen on PI.

    We ate at the Chive Blossom Cafe on a recommendation and again, glad we did. We ate outside across from the main restaurant. Next time, we are eating inside the restaurant because of air conditioning, etc. But it was still a nice area to dine. I had the She Crab Soup and I must say, it was the best I had in SC. I asked for the bottle of Sherry and they accomadated. I added a touch. Again, incredible. I ordered the rack of lamb. The sauces and sides were outstanding but the lamb chops were a bit too rare. Could have sent them back but they were still very good. Shared the home made brownie and ice cream. It was to die for. Don't miss that one. As a matter of fact, don't miss the Chive Blossom Cafe. Awesome!

    An excellent atmosphere for a restaurant. Looks like an old house turned into a restaurant. Be sure to make a reservation on weekends. Our dinners were good, unless you do not like rich sauces. The she crab soup and Crab nachos were excellent. They also have a separate outside dining area where they was a musician playing.

    A family evening outdoors at Chive Blossom - wonderful atmosphere, wine selection, food, service and music. A family of 17 with very small children left in a huff but shouldn't bring small tots to this place - it is expensive and quality that needs to be savored slowly - not fast food. We had a good table with good attention. Calamari was a little too heavy on the breading. But dinner orders were steaks, sea bass, scallops, crab nachos - all excellent. Highly recommended!

    The she crab soup was wonderful! The restaurant itself was pretty cool. Very quaint and had some cool art work hanging. The rest of the food was good but I do not know it was worth the price. The lamb tacos were a bit bland a pretty chewy. Perhaps this was just a bad dish. I would give it a second try just to have some more of that she crab soup!

    We read lots of reviews of this restaurant that suggested that the food was great. We were very disappointed. The appetizer of fresh vegetables was too vinegary and the beets tasted like canned beets. The shrimp and scallops with vegetables and orzo were dry and tasted old. The vegetables and orzo were good, but there was way too much oil in the dish. My husband's dish was so salty he couldn't eat it. The tables are very close together and the restaurant is very noisy as a result. This was the worst dining experience on our trip to Litchfield.

    Wonderful experience. My wife and I visited this place during a renovation after reading the Yelp review to find out they were closed. We called two days later and were so glad we did because everything was so nice! We were fortunate to sit outside with the huge, mature trees providing shading to the dining. All the menu items were so uncommon and unique it was tough to decide. I've paid just as much money at other places and didn't get half the quality food as here, so definitely well worth it. This place was the last of our vacation so such a happy ending.

Chef does not scrimp on ingredients; both were chock-full of the good stuff, generous portions, both. Next we had the Low Country Oyster Pie and this thing is a MILE deep in flavor profile, a sort of scalloped/baked oysters for grown-ups, savory does not begin to encompass the richness of this dish, also generously portioned, big enough to share. I then sampled wife's salad, Chive Blossom Chopped Salad and the dressing was the star of this show, mildly sweet-tart, complimented perfectly the various nuts, cheese, egg, onion; well done, Chef. Wife has the Seafood Pot Pie which is crab, shrimp and scallops topped with a puff pastry wedge and again, like the crab dip and oyster pie, it followed in that mode of deep flavor profile which can only be attained with properly prepared stocks, fantastic! I had the Crab Cakes entrée, two 4-5 ounce crab cakes served with a drizzle of Béarnaise, creamy mashed potatoes, sautéed baby asparagus, a huge offering portion-wise and it would have been perfect had I not watched the expediter leave it under the lights for 19 minutes before sending it, no idea who dropped the ball on the line. I wish I'd had them fresh-hot, but maybe next time. A bit mushy at the center but colored up nicely outside. Hint of horseradish, very faint, not bad. We also ordered a go-dish of the Crab Crepes, ate them later, heavenly, even re-warmed in the oven. For dessert we split the berry and crumb cake offering, served with creamy ice cream, ate it all at the restaurant and surely recommend it, or anything, for that matter, that Chef Trina is offering because this lady is serious about her art and it shows through in every single dish. This is where chefs eat, places like this. And, for superior, and I mean top-of-the-line service, I'd request Dee, none finer. Noise level is extremely loud, even with acoustic dampener panels installed throughout so try and sit somewhere away from the glass windows which reverberate and make conversation across the table almost impossible. Also, they have an outdoor seating area that can handle fifty or so covers and might be nice on a pleasant evening. Parking is hectic, gravel lot, unmarked, so watch out for erratic traffic and parking by others. I would have given it a 5 Star if I had not watched my entrée sit until it was cold; however, Dee quickly remedied the problem and for that I will give HER a 5 out of 5.

    We love Chive Blossom - the food, atmosphere and service are great! Even though it was super crowded, we were sat promptly at our reservation time! For an appetizer, we split the fried green tomatoes. They are the best - we love the pimento cheese and red pepper jelly combination! We also split the Caesar salad. Great flavor, but it does have anchovies on it. For our entrees, we both had the trout. It's the best trout we've ever had. Perfectly seasoned and crusted with pecans. Love it! Service was awesome! Dee was outstanding! Can't wait to go back again soon!

    Took the wife there for a late lunch. Had the Warm Shrimp Panzanella, and it was excellent. Wife had the lump crab quiche, she liked it as well. Being the she-crab soup addict that I am, had a bowl of that too....very good. The atmosphere is very nice, and the service is friendly. I will go back for dinner next year for sure.

    This would get five stars if it were based solely on my dinner, but my husband's was slightly disappointing. The atmosphere was great - we sat outside and there was a live performer. The hummus was amazing and my dinner - the mediterranean salmon was phenomenal the way the salmon (cooked just like I like it) mixed with the artichokes, the calamata olives and the cracked black pepper. It was plenty to eat. My husband ordered the lamb tacos which we had read the great reviews on. I was a little diappointed to see that in a restaurant of this caliber, the lamb was ground lamb and did not have a very lamb-y flavor. The tzitki (sp) sauce was very good, but there was little room to construct the tacos on the plate - my husband was very frustrated trying to put his dinner together. Everything else was fabulous though!

    I searched high and low to find a good restaurant in the Myrtle Beach area and OMG Chive Blossom exceeded expectations in every way! The food was outstanding and the service was perfect and the ambiance (outdoor patio with live music) was an A+! We were a group of 6 so we had alot of different dishes - every dish was perfect to every person (impressive) but let me say that generally this seafood is super fresh and local and cooked perfectly and all the veggies are local too! All the food is well seasoned, the portions are huge we had them for breakfast the next day. The desserts were kick ass as well! This was one of the best meals on our trip to SC! Highlights: She Crab Soup Lamb Tacos Southern Bouillabaisse Shirmp/Scallops and truffle grits Fried Chicken Livers ANY DESSERT YOU COULD ORDER!!!! But if they have the brownie sundae you are in for a serious treat! This kitchen knows what it's doing and I would love to return again!

    Our group really enjoyed our lunch at Chive Blossom while down at Pawleys on vacation. The service was excellent. I had a "sip" of the She Crab Soup - creamy and delicious. The Chopped Salad was also a winner - pecans, cranberries, yum! I also heard good things about the Shrimp & Potato Salad. And of course, they are known for their Fried Green Tomato Sandwich with Bacon and Pimento Cheese. It's a really unique sandwich that is excellently made.

    We ate at the Chive Blossom Cafe on a recommendation and again, glad we did. We ate outside across from the main restaurant. Next time, we are eating inside the restaurant because of air conditioning, etc. But it was still a nice area to dine. I had the She Crab Soup and I must say, it was the best I had in SC. I asked for the bottle of Sherry and they accomadated. I added a touch. Again, incredible. I ordered the rack of lamb. The sauces and sides were outstanding but the lamb chops were a bit too rare. Could have sent them back but they were still very good. Shared the home made brownie and ice cream. It was to die for. Don't miss that one. As a matter of fact, don't miss the Chive Blossom Cafe. Awesome!

    I was very excited to try Chive Blossom because I had heard numerous rave reviews. And it was good - but I think a bit overrated and definitely overpriced. My group of 5 all agreed that our starters and desserts were better than the entrees. 4 out of 5 of us started with the She Crab Soup, which was delicious. My aunt said the crab slaw was one of the best salads she had ever had. The entrees were good but underwhelming, possibly just because I had such high expectations. I ordered shrimp pasta and was very disappointed that my shrimp had not been deveined. I also requested that they go light on the garlic only to have to remove 4 entire cloves of garlic from my plate. Again, the food was good but I don't think I would pay such high prices for that kind of food again.

    I just got back from my dinner at Chive Blossom Cafe - a perfect dinner in just about every way! I started with a glass of wine and the scallop special as an appetizer. It was three pan fried scallops cooked perfectly on a bed of sunchokes, Brussels sprouts and a veal jus. I was eating at the bar and a fellow patron asked me if I thought it was amazing - apparently my face just said it all after the first bite! And for dinner I had the filet mignon - cooked a perfect medium rare just as I had ordered with a Boursin cream and spinach. Just amazing. This small restaurant packs a huge punch. I had to leave as there was a table of 16 ladies in for a dinner party. The noise level was just too much for me and I quickly got my check and got out of there. My waitress, Pam, also is the bartender so she had her hands full with a very full dinner service. I will be visiting Chive Blossom Cafe the next time I'm in town!

    Trina, the owner and head chef, makes about four soups a night and they will knock your socks off! If you haven't had she-crab soup yet, try it. If it's white, have them add a bit of sherry- yum yum! Fried-green tomatoes, shrimp risotto, mussels, okra pancakes, lamb tacos (these are make-your-own). Oh Lord- take me home! I was always too cheap to get actual entrees- I went the small plate/apps route to get more flavors for my buck- but I have no doubt that they are worth every penny! The atmosphere of the restaurant is great, too. Great service, nice location. You won't leave hungry or unhappy, in other words!

    Stopped in for a "light" lunch and all of us got a bowl of the she crab soup. Excellent...best I've had. With the soup came fresh (hot) baked bread, which was also very good. Wine list was great. Had wines that even in California are hard to get. Reasonable wine prices for being on the opposite coast. This is a cute place that is more my style with fresh quality ingredients than what is up in Myrtle Beach (fry everything). Wish I could come back to try dinner here, but maybe next year!

    Great service, cool place. This is a little more upscale. I wore jeans and a nice shirt (thank goodness) and felt a little underdressed but no one cared. Our group of 3 ordered the black eyed pea spring rolls (just ok with great sauce that is like a chinese hot yellow mustard mixed with a marmalade), the fried oysters (very good), and the Okra Pancakes with shrimp & creole sauce (YUM!!!) We had fun sitting at the bar and sharing our food with eachother. They have a large community table we could have sat at but we chose the bar. Love the bartender - she is a sweetie. Would go back! Oh and make a reservation if you want inside at your own table. They had just opened the outside patio and I was a little too chilly to sit out there.

    We decided to pop in to this lovely spot on North Causeway on a whim. Beautiful flowers outside - the interior was completely updated with a nice bar, partly open kitchen and a full dining room. Our party was treated to outstanding service and some of the most delicious seafood we've enjoyed in years. Meal highlights include the outstanding Lowcountry Crab Dip and the Crab Cake entree. Each of our dishes offered a flavorful enhancement to some of the freshest seafood you could find. The Small Plates shouldn' be overlooked - my wife ordered the Scallop Cake with Spring Vegetable Orzo - outstanding. Do not miss the Chive Blossom Cafe!

    We sat outside on the patio and dined in an amazing atmosphere with great service. Would definitely reccomend the hummus. My mom got the bouillabaisse and said it was spectacular. I'm a vegetarian and the waiter was very good about changing a dish for me - I got the Greek lamb tacos without the lamb and they were delicious! Overall a great place with REAL food. Love it!

    Delicious. The SHE CRAB soup is the best I ever had!! I ordered the Asian Duck salad.....perfectly cooked duck! Our party also had the Crab Quiche, Salmon Sandwich, and Strawberry Salad but my duck salad was the best! They kept stealing the duck off my plate!! Disappointed they were sold out of a lot of the dishes were wanted to try.......aahh....which means we will HAVE to return!! This place is slightly expensive but worth it...heck you are on vacation!!!

    Went here with my wife and 2 of my 3 kids for dinner. We never heard much of the place. It was very classy inside. We were a bit under dressed, but hey it is Pawleys Island ;) Anyway the service was great. I ordered Korean Style Duck Tacos appetizer which was only (1) but it was delicious. It was like a pulled duck meat which really was different. I ordered a dozen local clams and a corn crusted grouper. It was all great.

    An excellent atmosphere for a restaurant. Looks like an old house turned into a restaurant. Be sure to make a reservation on weekends. Our dinners were good, unless you do not like rich sauces. The she crab soup and Crab nachos were excellent. They also have a separate outside dining area where they was a musician playing.

    A family evening outdoors at Chive Blossom - wonderful atmosphere, wine selection, food, service and music. A family of 17 with very small children left in a huff but shouldn't bring small tots to this place - it is expensive and quality that needs to be savored slowly - not fast food. We had a good table with good attention. Calamari was a little too heavy on the breading. But dinner orders were steaks, sea bass, scallops, crab nachos - all excellent. Highly recommended!

    The she crab soup was wonderful! The restaurant itself was pretty cool. Very quaint and had some cool art work hanging. The rest of the food was good but I do not know it was worth the price. The lamb tacos were a bit bland a pretty chewy. Perhaps this was just a bad dish. I would give it a second try just to have some more of that she crab soup!

    We read lots of reviews of this restaurant that suggested that the food was great. We were very disappointed. The appetizer of fresh vegetables was too vinegary and the beets tasted like canned beets. The shrimp and scallops with vegetables and orzo were dry and tasted old. The vegetables and orzo were good, but there was way too much oil in the dish. My husband's dish was so salty he couldn't eat it. The tables are very close together and the restaurant is very noisy as a result. This was the worst dining experience on our trip to Litchfield.

    I read the fantastic reviews and normally we would not go to a $$$ restaurant, but this was our first night in Pawley's Island and what the heck. I wanted to treat my family to a special dinner night out to kick off our vacation. We really liked the way the place looked and the atmosphere. It was a like a trailer home, but with wood floors, a full bar and tables. Lighting was low and romantic. The floors creaked and it had great decorations ---very eclectic! The dress was more upscale with cabana shirts and khakis (for guys). We felt out of place with our t-shirts, shorts, and baseball caps. No appetizers ordered. We asked the server what she suggested and she said 4 items were her favorites. Based on that, we ordered the Southern Bouillabaisse and the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes for the adults and the chicken fingers/fries for the children. The adult dishes were beautiful to look at....sure wish they tasted as good as they looked. To be completely honest, my wife liked the crab cakes but they didn't demand the $32 price. I tried the cakes and they were good, but I think I have had better. The mash potatoes side were good. The asparagus that came with them was poor. The ends were tough...almost like they forgot to snap them at the weak spot. My Southern Bouillabaisse was very bland. Both my wife and I tried it and it did not have a lot of flavor. I tried salt and pepper and that didn't do anything for it. I did finish the dish because I was so hungry (it was 9pm), but I felt I had flushed $29 down the drain. At least the kids chicken fingers and fries were good, right? Unfortunately no. We are still joking about them today. The fingers were $8.95 and included fries. Actually, the fingers looked like the fries. In the low light, we could barely tell the difference. They were so thin and the kids did not like them. They barely ate them. I tried them and they were so dry. You can't cut chicken breasts that thin and not have them dry out. We would not go back. Total bill was $81 without tip (they take American Express). Thankfully we did not order appetizers or alcohol or the bill would have been through the roof. If you like great atmosphere especially for a couple, this is your place. If you want great food, I would choose something else.

    Lovely atmosphere, food was very good, server, Jesse-attentive. Upon arriving there appeared to be 3 open tables, a duos by a wall and two-foursomes. I was seated at the duos and asked for another table because I didn't want to sit next to a wall albeit the wall was part glass. The hostess said it may be a 40 minute wait...she would have to check. I agreed to take the duos since we drove 46 miles just to dine at this cafe and I didn't want to wait. Two women entered immediately after we arrived and then a single diner. The two women were seated at a foursome and the single diner was seated at the second foursome. What is going on here? The immediate thing that comes to mind is that since we are of color, the foursome is reserved for "others." Really? I said something to the hostess and she weakly uttered something. Very disappointing.

    Our family came here for lunch one day during vacation and had an amazing lunch! We all started off with some drinks, I had painkiller, which was delicious, while other good drinks others had were a grapefruit martini and a great dark and stormy. There were other good ones but i forgot their names. I had the low country tomato basil pie and a cup of the she crab soup. The she crab soup was rich and flavorful, and the tomato basil pie was outstanding. The portions were small but I didn't mind, the food was too good to complain! Other great plates that I saw relatives get were the bahn mi, chicken livers, asian noodles, and spinach bacon quiche. Everyone was more than satisfied with their meals! As for the decor, it's very cozy inside, feel like you're in a cafe. They have a great looking shaded outdoor patio/seating area too. I would definitely recommend making a stop if you're in the area.

    Well, so much for southern hospitality. The owner seems like a jag. Getting seated was a bit of a problem and after several people came in after us, but were seated before us, my husband said something to the host. The owner came over and instead of apologizing, he gruffly showed us to our table, stomping in his loud, high-heeled boots the entire way then practically slammed our menus down. We should have left then, but we stayed and had a mediocre, over-priced meal.

    Very nice restaurant, great ambiance seated outside, great selection of good food. Grouper and mediterranean salmon were delicious. Large wine list for a smaller restaurant. Seating is limited inside, best to get reservation or sit in overflow seating outside. Prices seem on the high side, but that may be attributable to it being one of the more upscale restaurants in a smaller community. All in all if it's within your budget it's a great place to eat.

I was always too cheap to get actual entrees- I went the small plate/apps route to get more flavors for my buck- but I have no doubt that they are worth every penny! The atmosphere of the restaurant is great, too. Great service, nice location. You won't leave hungry or unhappy, in other words!

    Took the wife there for a late lunch. Had the Warm Shrimp Panzanella, and it was excellent. Wife had the lump crab quiche, she liked it as well. Being the she-crab soup addict that I am, had a bowl of that too....very good. The atmosphere is very nice, and the service is friendly. I will go back for dinner next year for sure.

    This would get five stars if it were based solely on my dinner, but my husband's was slightly disappointing. The atmosphere was great - we sat outside and there was a live performer. The hummus was amazing and my dinner - the mediterranean salmon was phenomenal the way the salmon (cooked just like I like it) mixed with the artichokes, the calamata olives and the cracked black pepper. It was plenty to eat. My husband ordered the lamb tacos which we had read the great reviews on. I was a little diappointed to see that in a restaurant of this caliber, the lamb was ground lamb and did not have a very lamb-y flavor. The tzitki (sp) sauce was very good, but there was little room to construct the tacos on the plate - my husband was very frustrated trying to put his dinner together. Everything else was fabulous though!

    I searched high and low to find a good restaurant in the Myrtle Beach area and OMG Chive Blossom exceeded expectations in every way! The food was outstanding and the service was perfect and the ambiance (outdoor patio with live music) was an A+! We were a group of 6 so we had alot of different dishes - every dish was perfect to every person (impressive) but let me say that generally this seafood is super fresh and local and cooked perfectly and all the veggies are local too! All the food is well seasoned, the portions are huge we had them for breakfast the next day. The desserts were kick ass as well! This was one of the best meals on our trip to SC! Highlights: She Crab Soup Lamb Tacos Southern Bouillabaisse Shirmp/Scallops and truffle grits Fried Chicken Livers ANY DESSERT YOU COULD ORDER!!!! But if they have the brownie sundae you are in for a serious treat! This kitchen knows what it's doing and I would love to return again!

    Our group really enjoyed our lunch at Chive Blossom while down at Pawleys on vacation. The service was excellent. I had a "sip" of the She Crab Soup - creamy and delicious. The Chopped Salad was also a winner - pecans, cranberries, yum! I also heard good things about the Shrimp & Potato Salad. And of course, they are known for their Fried Green Tomato Sandwich with Bacon and Pimento Cheese. It's a really unique sandwich that is excellently made.

    We decided to pop in to this lovely spot on North Causeway on a whim. Beautiful flowers outside - the interior was completely updated with a nice bar, partly open kitchen and a full dining room. Our party was treated to outstanding service and some of the most delicious seafood we've enjoyed in years. Meal highlights include the outstanding Lowcountry Crab Dip and the Crab Cake entree. Each of our dishes offered a flavorful enhancement to some of the freshest seafood you could find. The Small Plates shouldn' be overlooked - my wife ordered the Scallop Cake with Spring Vegetable Orzo - outstanding. Do not miss the Chive Blossom Cafe!

    We sat outside on the patio and dined in an amazing atmosphere with great service. Would definitely reccomend the hummus. My mom got the bouillabaisse and said it was spectacular. I'm a vegetarian and the waiter was very good about changing a dish for me - I got the Greek lamb tacos without the lamb and they were delicious! Overall a great place with REAL food. Love it!

    We went there for lunch on a cold day. Order the Hot Brown. You'll thank me. Some of the other dishes tended to be a bit salty - even for me. Loved the variety on the menu and the service was friendly.

    Delicious. The SHE CRAB soup is the best I ever had!! I ordered the Asian Duck salad.....perfectly cooked duck! Our party also had the Crab Quiche, Salmon Sandwich, and Strawberry Salad but my duck salad was the best! They kept stealing the duck off my plate!! Disappointed they were sold out of a lot of the dishes were wanted to try.......aahh....which means we will HAVE to return!! This place is slightly expensive but worth it...heck you are on vacation!!!

    Went here with my wife and 2 of my 3 kids for dinner. We never heard much of the place. It was very classy inside. We were a bit under dressed, but hey it is Pawleys Island ;) Anyway the service was great. I ordered Korean Style Duck Tacos appetizer which was only (1) but it was delicious. It was like a pulled duck meat which really was different. I ordered a dozen local clams and a corn crusted grouper. It was all great.

    Wonderful little restaurant. Great service and Great Food! I had an appetizer and a small plate for my meal. Fried green tomatoes were AWESOME and the crab crepe was great as well! Definitely suggest driving to this gem if you're anywhere in the area. Also, make reservations.

    Very good, very surprised! You must get the Crab Nachos and the She Crab Soup. I had the Wild Salmon and wow was that delicious. Oh and if you have a chance try the Ghirardelli Brownie w/ Vbean Ice cream. And don't get me started on the wine list by far the best i have seen on PI.

    We ate at the Chive Blossom Cafe on a recommendation and again, glad we did. We ate outside across from the main restaurant. Next time, we are eating inside the restaurant because of air conditioning, etc. But it was still a nice area to dine. I had the She Crab Soup and I must say, it was the best I had in SC. I asked for the bottle of Sherry and they accomadated. I added a touch. Again, incredible. I ordered the rack of lamb. The sauces and sides were outstanding but the lamb chops were a bit too rare. Could have sent them back but they were still very good. Shared the home made brownie and ice cream. It was to die for. Don't miss that one. As a matter of fact, don't miss the Chive Blossom Cafe. Awesome!

    An excellent atmosphere for a restaurant. Looks like an old house turned into a restaurant. Be sure to make a reservation on weekends. Our dinners were good, unless you do not like rich sauces. The she crab soup and Crab nachos were excellent. They also have a separate outside dining area where they was a musician playing.

    A family evening outdoors at Chive Blossom - wonderful atmosphere, wine selection, food, service and music. A family of 17 with very small children left in a huff but shouldn't bring small tots to this place - it is expensive and quality that needs to be savored slowly - not fast food. We had a good table with good attention. Calamari was a little too heavy on the breading. But dinner orders were steaks, sea bass, scallops, crab nachos - all excellent. Highly recommended!

    The she crab soup was wonderful! The restaurant itself was pretty cool. Very quaint and had some cool art work hanging. The rest of the food was good but I do not know it was worth the price. The lamb tacos were a bit bland a pretty chewy. Perhaps this was just a bad dish. I would give it a second try just to have some more of that she crab soup!

    We read lots of reviews of this restaurant that suggested that the food was great. We were very disappointed. The appetizer of fresh vegetables was too vinegary and the beets tasted like canned beets. The shrimp and scallops with vegetables and orzo were dry and tasted old. The vegetables and orzo were good, but there was way too much oil in the dish. My husband's dish was so salty he couldn't eat it. The tables are very close together and the restaurant is very noisy as a result. This was the worst dining experience on our trip to Litchfield.

    We've visited with a somewhat large group - make a reservation - three years in a row while on vacation, and every year this has been a highlight of the trip. The shrimp and scallops with grits and truffle butter is the most decadent thing i have ever eaten. If you want to know what sin tastes like, here it is on a plate for you! Go "beach dressy" and class yourself up a bit.

    Make it a point to eat here! The food, the service, the atmosphere! It's quaint. The crab soup, seasonal salads, and shrimp were delicious. The desserts we sampled made my eyes well up. The hostesses, bus boys, servers, bartenders, and cooks worked together as a team. You asked for nothing, they predicted everything! The group I went with ate there three times that Week!

    My favorite seafood restaurant period. Anytime I am down in the Pawley's/Litchfield area it is a must to go to this place. I usually go for dinner but both are great. Appetizer: Pan Sauteed Conch: spiced rum butter sauce, jalapeno, scallions, tomatoes. Definitely a great choice. Main course: Fish Du Jour "zucchini spaghetti" silver queen corn, grape tomatoes, tarragon cream. Mahi Mahi tonight so good. I also tried the grouper and the scallop cake both which were also amazing. The fried green tomatoes here are also some of the best I have ever had as well.

    I had a really great time here. The food was really good and the people who come here seem really easy going and fun loving. The filet, I ordered Blue - it didn't exactly come out blue, but it was definitely rare and it was delicious. The mashed potatoes, mushrooms and sauce were all exquisite. It surely won't disappoint. I then ordered the Peach Cobbler for dessert - generous portion and it was really good. There was a bit of a wait... Granted, we sat at the bar and the bartender was inundated so, things crawled but the food was great, its a neat atmosphere and reasonably priced. The owners were also very present and friendly which is, of course, really nice and made the experience much more charming. Definitely a place I would go for a solid experience with friends and family.

    This place is fantastic. Very very good food. We'll worth the price. I'd like to see more non seafood choices. Service is way above. A bit noisy, but it was very busy inside, which is a good yhing. They have outdoor patio service also. I will return for sure.

    Came here for a dinner with the family and was not disappointed. No member of our party complained about any of their food choices. The she crab soup was delicious and the fish entrees were fresh and perfectly cooked. The seared tuna entree was sushi grade and one of the best prepared dishes that I have eaten. Due to the place being packed we had to eat in the outside dining area but the quality of the food made us forget the hot muggy weather. We will definitely be back.

    A really nice place with excellent food. Some of the menu items are in the $30 per plate zip code, but you can eat at a very reasonable price here. I started with a cup of She Crab soup for $7. It was very thick, almosy like a clam chowder consistency. It was so good - smooth, creamy, great taste- just excellent. I had the Asian Noodles (linguine topped with a spicy peanut sauce, chicken and assorted vegetables) for $15. I requested it extra spicy and it came out perfect!! Great peanut flavor, lots of chicken, and a lot of heat. It was a great dish. My wife had the Short Rib Ravioli ($15) and it looked great- five or six meaty monster sized raviolis. The dining room is modestly sized, but they have a big outdoor dining room off to the side. This was a very enjoyable meal, one of the better meals we had on Pawleys Island.

    We had an excellent meal in a lovely setting -- sitting outside on a balmy evening in late August was great. The fried green tomato appetizer was yummy, and the wide selection of entrees made it hard to choose -- but I went with the filet mignon and did not regret it. I only wish we'd had time to stay for desert -- the options sounded great. Maybe next time.

    The food was wonderful but the waiter named Pete tried to ruin our entire experience by refusing to separate our checks. There were 20 of us. We asked him to reconsider but again he refused..he said his manager backed him up..we asked to speak to the manager that never showed..Instead another waiter named Geri arrived..she was pleasant and separated our checks and we had a great time. We tipped her very well so if you choose to go...never never sit in Petes section!! He was rude and terrible!

    Ah the Chive Blossom! I've been here a few times, and have never been disappointed. I had a signature martini, it went down pretty easy, and the she crab soup? The BEST! Creamy, loaded with fresh crab. Wanted another cup, but resisted. My entree was their bouillabaisse with shrimp, scallops, Mahi Mahi and crab. OMG a huge bowl. Soo delicious, even better than I could have hoped. I'm pretty sure it had some cheese in it, and I loved the fresh greens on the top. I Couldn't eat it all so I had it for lunch the next day, and it was even better! I could have licked the bowl. We have friends in this area and we are always jealous when they check in at the Chive Blossoms. We'll be there next year!

    Not much to add. Other reviews cover it all. Very good food with local ingredients. Good selection of healthy vegetarian dishes and traditional dishes. As one reviewer pointed out, and I agree, wish there were more seafood choices. Portions are comparatively small, but sufficient, and prices are comparatively high but fair. Expect to spend about $15 for a lunch entree. Excellent selection of wine, beer and specialty drinks. Service was good, not outstanding. I'd return.

    Cute little house on Pawleys Island. Food sounded interesting but was just so-so to me. We had a fig and bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer, the fish special with tarragon sauce, and the fried fish platter. The service was good, full bar with a great wine menu. It was business casual. Bathroom, have to go outside the restaurant but, still inside the house-kinda weird you have to leave the restaurant around to the backside. Gravel driveway with decent parking. Outdoor dining area too-people were taking picturesthere!

    We have been dining here one or two times a year since just after it opened. Our favorites remain on the menu which does not seem to have changed much. Our latest dinner left us feeling disappointed. We enjoyed a bottle of Willamette Pinot Noir from the extensive wine list and it was excellent and fairly priced. The crab soup was very special, well spiced, enough sherry and crab and had the right consistency. The pasta with shrimp was good but I wanted the shrimp to be pan sautéed or grilled. Those in the dish seems to have been boiled as they had no color and were undetectably spiced. We always order the Southern Boullibaisse and this execution seemed different and less pleasant them others we've enjoyed. The stock lacked acid and spice and was dominated by okra thickening. We recall there being more tomato to balance the okra. The vegetables and seafood added were fresh and excellent. To our taste, both the entrees lacked salt so we added it after requesting some from the server. The blueberry cobbler was excellent. Altogether we felt kitchen execution had declined. Our server was moderately attentive but we felt rushed so they could turn the table. There were three very large and loud parties present who shouted at each other across tables and made it very difficult to have a conversation. This is a fine dining restaurant not a sports bar. Unfortunately, this kind of behavior is quite typical in the US in contrast to Europe, and there is little the house can or will do about it. You might want to wear long sleeves as the AC blows very strongly and is quite cold. Despite having made a reservation we were seated at a less desirable table.

    Favorite restaurant in the Pawley's area, maybe anywhere! She crab soup is amazing but very rich, only need the "taste" size. My all time favorite is the unique watermelon salad. This trip our party had scallop cake, fried green tomato napoleon, filet mignon, grouper, fried seafood platter and bouillabaisse. All were wonderful, as was the wait staff. Its certainly not cheap but worth it if you are looking for a bit of splurge while staying laid back and beach- relaxed this is the place.

    Fun lunch with family over the holidays. The asian noodles and fried seafood sampler were hits. And, my fried green tomato sandwich with homemade pimento chesse, avacado and apple smoked bacon was delish. The shared creme brulee for dessert was something to fight over. Service was excellent. Living part-time in Pawleys, we'll definitely be back!

    Pros on the place: cute place, nice atmosphere, nice server Pros on the food: very good she-crab soup and crab quiche Pros on the price: none Cons on the place: small, bathrooms outside and down the porch Cons on the food: small salad with quiche was mostly baby kale and even my husband who juices kale and eats a salad every night didn't like it, very overpoweringly bad taste, husband got the fishermen's platter- must be a small fisherman - as the $18 "platter" had two small pieces of fish, two scallops (I'll get back to those) two oysters, okra, grits. Every thing but the size of the platter was fine except the scallops. We eat scallops out and cook them ourselves so we know a good scallop- these weren't. Sent them back. Got two more, they were really undercooked. Gave up on the scallops. They comped my soup $7 for the bad scallops. Son had fried shrimp and handcut fries. He said the shrimp were "hard". I tried one and they were very overcooked. Fries were brown not a nice golden color, I tried one of the lighter ones, it was ok. Cons on the price: way over priced for what we got. We were in the area on vacation but I wouldn't recommend.

    This is a sweet place to eat! The atmosphere is "seaside artsy", warm and inviting- great gathering place for a group of friends or a date. The menu offers a wide variety of "not the usual" fare. Great soups, quiche, and sandwiches so tall you can't fit them in your mouth!

    My wife wanted to go there because the name was cute. Turns out the food was quite fantastic and service was great. The smaller sips of soup were great starters before the meal. All three were happy with our food - quiche, quesadillas, and the salmon. Pretty extensive wine selection too.

    If me and my sisters are visiting in the area this is the place to good for dinner. We love it! Everything is Sooo fresh. A little on the pricey side if you get salad, entree, and dessert, but the entrees are awesome.

    Amazing food, appalling customer service. Chive Blossom's chef has consistently delivered five-star dishes over the last two years - especially those using locally-sourced ingredients, including fish. It's been one of my favorite places to go. However, I'm not sure I'd go again as result of the treatment I experienced at the hands of both the wait staff and management. Go for the food, but don't complain if you're served something you don't like.

    Recommended by a lady who knows food, my wife and I hit this place on our way back from a foodie jag to the Holy City and luckily got in due to a cancellation and we're grateful! Service makes the difference at times and this was one of those. DEE, our server, was a stone-cold professional in every regard, service above and beyond the norm; ask for her. As we were "tasting" as much of each restaurant's menu as we could at each stop, taking food back to our hotels, we over-ordered from Chef Trina's menu. Started with: She-crab soup and Crab, Vidalia and Artichoke spread with lavash chips/bread. The soup was deep and velvety, truly rich, but a bit over on the salt, crab dip was divine! Chef does not scrimp on ingredients; both were chock-full of the good stuff, generous portions, both. Next we had the Low Country Oyster Pie and this thing is a MILE deep in flavor profile, a sort of scalloped/baked oysters for grown-ups, savory does not begin to encompass the richness of this dish, also generously portioned, big enough to share. I then sampled wife's salad, Chive Blossom Chopped Salad and the dressing was the star of this show, mildly sweet-tart, complimented perfectly the various nuts, cheese, egg, onion; well done, Chef. Wife has the Seafood Pot Pie which is crab, shrimp and scallops topped with a puff pastry wedge and again, like the crab dip and oyster pie, it followed in that mode of deep flavor profile which can only be attained with properly prepared stocks, fantastic! I had the Crab Cakes entrée, two 4-5 ounce crab cakes served with a drizzle of Béarnaise, creamy mashed potatoes, sautéed baby asparagus, a huge offering portion-wise and it would have been perfect had I not watched the expediter leave it under the lights for 19 minutes before sending it, no idea who dropped the ball on the line. I wish I'd had them fresh-hot, but maybe next time. A bit mushy at the center but colored up nicely outside. Hint of horseradish, very faint, not bad. We also ordered a go-dish of the Crab Crepes, ate them later, heavenly, even re-warmed in the oven. For dessert we split the berry and crumb cake offering, served with creamy ice cream, ate it all at the restaurant and surely recommend it, or anything, for that matter, that Chef Trina is offering because this lady is serious about her art and it shows through in every single dish. This is where chefs eat, places like this. And, for superior, and I mean top-of-the-line service, I'd request Dee, none finer. Noise level is extremely loud, even with acoustic dampener panels installed throughout so try and sit somewhere away from the glass windows which reverberate and make conversation across the table almost impossible. Also, they have an outdoor seating area that can handle fifty or so covers and might be nice on a pleasant evening. Parking is hectic, gravel lot, unmarked, so watch out for erratic traffic and parking by others. I would have given it a 5 Star if I had not watched my entrée sit until it was cold; however, Dee quickly remedied the problem and for that I will give HER a 5 out of 5.
