Such an amazing value for some very tasty food! The servers were very attentive and helpful as well. The food was authentic and traditional no frills American/Mexican. We had the chorizo queso which was sinfully delicious. I had one of the house margaritas for $3.50 which was great. A friend had a tamale she enjoyed the other friend had chile relleno that she said was delicious, and I had a guac tostado which was great. With the chips and salsa it was a great filling lunch. The full meals had a ton of food and still a great value if you're really hungry. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone for an enjoyable lunch and fun atmosphere.

Excellent food and great service at an unbelievable price! Highly recommend over the other mediocre fast food chains around this area.

We stopped along 95 on our trip. This place was packed! The parking lot was full, and we still were seated immediately, were served chips and salsa quickly, and ordered shortly afterwards. We ordered the enchiladas supreme & the chicken chimichangas. It was pretty average Mexican food. The room we sat in was really noisy. The chicken was a bit dry, and the sauce on top was like tomato soup! I can't believe it was so busy!

Stopped here for Sunday lunch on a road trip with kids. Couldn't have been easier. Service was very fast and attentive, food was fairly typical Mexican-American (entree, Spanish rice, refried beans). Cannot beat the prices!! They do have a kids menu, as well as a la carte items.

I stopped in Manning on a trip from Maryland to Florida. Looking for a place close to the hotel I was staying and I saw this restaurant. Not being a fan of Mexican food I was a little hesitant, needless to say I was pleasantly surprised. It was an unusually cold night and I was sat in front of a real wood-burning fireplace. The service was quick, The food was good, what else could you ask for during a road trip.

Not the best Mexican on the planet for sure but this is a remote area of South Caroline along the Interstate! For that location, it was pretty good. Service was attentive and quick and the Margarita was cheap. A nice place to stop, have a drink, a meal and relax a bit before taking the road again. Would not drive a long way to come here... wait, I did drive a long way isn't it? ;-)

Great Mexican Restaurant! We're headed from Va to Fl and decided to stop. Despite being really busy, the service and food were good. The prices were unbelievable and they gave us a 10% out of towners discount! If you're looking for a quick place with good food and prices that are great! Stop here.

Stopped for dinner driving from FL to NC. The service was quick and the food was good. Salsa chips and guacamole was yummy and if my husband says leave a good review and remember this place - he must have liked his dinner.

On a road trip from New York to Florida we spent the night in Manning. Yelp helped me out in finding this place. We were waitered by a friendly mexican guy with a mohawk haircut which looked good on him. The food served was really good, the plates returned empty. We ordered different plates which all looked very nice. We paid $ 45 incl tip. If ever in the neighborhood we will return.

Food was quick and very affordable, my slightly salty Mahi taco was only 4.99 and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his bacon chicken fajitas, plus it's very family friendly.

No, just plain old no. Drive south 300 more miles and eat in Jacksonville, or pack apples and granola bars in the car, or get a pizza to go from South Philly, do yourself a favor. I am sorry to say this, but my snobby, northern, cosmopolitan appetite was not satisfied nor was I a bit pleased here. I will never return to this place even if I was dying of starvation. 4 beers on tap at the bar, and not one of them came in existence after the 1970's. What a throw back. And NO gin, I repeat - NO gin. 4 mid 20th century beers, and no gin...I ordered a margarita. I got more of a buzz from a cigar than from this concoction. The salsa was too watery and the chips were tasteless and stale. The friendly bartender suggested the seafood combo. Small overcooked, no-flavor pieces of shrimp, ?-fish, small bay scallops along side re-fried beans which tasted like they've been re-fried more than 2 times. They lock the door between the restaurant section and the bar when the karaoke starts (another story for another time), so I couldn't get out of there without requesting a waitress to get the key and unlock the door. I wonder if the Fire Marshall knows about that. I knew I was in trouble when I sat next to a guy at the bar with a John Deere hat on, reading a book entitled "South Carolina Gun Law". And on the other side of the bar there were two 20 something dirt-bag drunks trying to flirt with the bartender with lines like "take off your pants and let me kiss dat butt." You can't make this shit up!!

Like many people, I ended up in here because I was hungry and on a road trip, and I wanted something better than the usual fast food fare that pollutes highway exits. We were pleasantly surprised. The menu is like most Mexican restaurants, but the food was excellent. Chips and salsa were fresh and tasty and our entrees came quickly and with a smile. Service was prompt and friendly. We'll definitely stop back here on our next road trip through.

  • James M.

I have to give this place a five star rating because you can't beat the price, the "over all" service, and the food is the best. As for genuine Mexican Cuisine, only a Mexican or true conte sure would know the difference. My only complaint. I always feel rushed. Quick service. Awesome. Too quick, not much. Love it and as usual ( for me ) you will love the poblanos. (E34 mariachi rellano)

    (5)
  • Kris L.

Stopped in during a road trip. There is a huge menu selection, something for everyone. The chips and salsa were delicious - ask for the hot sauce if you like it kicked up a bit. We both enjoyed our entrées, tacos, enchiladas, and chiles poblanos. The margaritas were good as was the sangria. Service was friendly and attentive. If you're looking for decent Mexican food at very, very reasonable prices, this is the place.

  • Rob B.

Stopped here on a road trip. Great monster burrito with chicken for lunch for $6. Chicken and peppers were roasted. Salsa has just the right amount of cilantro and is not too sweet. Festive atmosphere. A lot of locals stopped in for lunch after church. Quick and friendly service.

  • Sam L.

This place was amazing. My family was on a road trip on I-95 and needed a quick stop for lunch (and we were sick of fast food). Mariachi's exceeded all expectations. The food was delicious and came out really quick, all servers were very friendly, and the prices were ridiculously cheap. This is a must-stop on any future trips through the area.

  • MA C.

Food was middle of the road - came out fast - service was fast but they never gave us any forks to eat with. Had to get up myself to ask for them because food was on the table. Not bad for location. Fresh salad but greasy rice.

  • Rusty S.

The chips and salsa along with margaritas are the only good things in this restaurant. While in this part of SC stick with southern comfort food or low country food. Just skip this place

  • Graig M.

I should have known better (4 stars in rural SC?), but Yelp let me down. Worst Mexican meal ever. First stop on vacation. When we walked in, I was optimistic about $1.99 margaritas! Well, you get what you pay for. Big, frozen, neon, sugary cheap alcohol. I've gotten a better buzz off of a slurpee. I had a dish called a "guacatac" or something like that. I think they made their guacamole with iceberg lettuce. My vegetarian wife ordered a chile relleno and got a pile of ground beef with a chile cheese sauce poured over it. ??? They brought her a "chile poblano" which was veg, except this didn't have a fried relleno shell and was covered with watery tomato sauce and the same weird queso. Burrito was bad. Kids pizzas were half cooked. Refried beans were out of a can. They messed up two of our orders, but did fix them promptly. The portions were huge. That might explain why I saw a dude who was one of the hugest guys I've ever seen. Seemed to be enjoying his meal...

Clean restrooms and fast service. The food itself lacked flavor. The vegetarian taco salad had canned spinach. The refried beans tasted very bland. The highlight was the tamale wrapped in traditional banana leaf with hints of cinnamon and pablano.

We were heading to Florida and it was getting to be dinner time. We wanted a break and a good dinner. Looked on Yelp for a restaurant that was well reviewed and up popped Mariachis. The reviews were spot on. Quick service, great food and a fun decor. They give you a big drink, so you dint need refills. The food was out almost as soon as we ordered. Hot and tasty. Clean restrooms too (important to my wife). The only hiccup, it took a bit to get our check. On our trips south, I hope to include Mariachis again.

Back again, another road trip to Florida. Again, just hopped off the exit after missing all the Mexican places near the local 'big city' (he he) and sure enough, there was Mariachi's. Great dinner, cheap margaritas, dinner came for 6 of us in less than 10 minutes and it was packed. Wish this was closer to home! This is what Mexican food is supposed to be like - affordable, tasty, and good service. Go figure, had to go to rural So Carolina for it. So it goes... This place is the REAL south of the border!

If you want Tex-mex and you find yourself in Manning, this is the place. This is 5 stars for mexican-like food in Manning. It is a family-friendly and group-friendly restaurant. Excellent service. Fun decor of a mexican/tropical style. Food came quickly with large portions and tasted decent. I brought a group of 15 college students through here, and had no problems with anyone finding something edible on their extensive menu. Why the 3 stars then? The fajitas were probably the best dish, but my Pollo Ranchero was overcooked and tough. The salsas are bland. Tortillas taste like they've been in the package a little too long. Stick to the basics (burrito, enchilada, tamale) and you'll get by. However, why aren't you going to the BBQ places? C'mon.

Stopped here after driving all day. Great food. Some of the best Mexican food I've ever had and I come from California where there's plenty of great Mexican food. Dishes came really, service was so nice and fast and we all loved the food. I wish I lived close so I could come back all the time

    (5)
  • Emanuel Q.

This was pretty good Mexican food. I can't say I liked my shrimp cocktail too much though, it tastes like shrimp drowned in ketchup. But the prices were great and the food was good enough.

On a road trip from Florida to New York we found ourselves in Manning South Carolina for the night. Thought for sure the place would be mediocre at best. Drinks, service and food were terrific! Next time I pass through I will stop and eat here.

Not bad. Ask for the off-menu dish with bacon-wrapped shrimp. Exactly what I wanted

You could find yourself in Manning-it is right off I-95. This place is theonly olace to heat here. The building is attractive. Plenty of parking in their own lot. There is a friendly attentive staff, fresh food, lots of it, and good prices. The interior decor is wonderfully Mexican and unique. It is also very comfortable. People have plenty of room.

  • Shoshana A.

Beautiful unusual decor, very good authentic Mexican food. Lightning quick service. Friendly place. Great prices. The chips are really good however the salsa could use more chunks.

  • Jeff N.

Like many this was our overnight on the way up north from Florida. Very convenient to our hotel and I-95. Great to be able to go next door for a great meal after 10 hours on the road. Excellent Mexican food, great $2 margaritas (recommend on the rocks with salt), service was very good. Brought us a free fried ice cream and sang happy birthday to my 2 year old. Delicious carnitas and my wife enjoyed her tacos al carbon. Will definitely stop on our next trip.

We were surprised to find such a great place just off 95 when we stopped for gas. The steak fajitas were tasty, the staff very friendly and very clean restrooms (which are hard to find along the interstate! Lol)

We stopped here for lunch going back from our vacation on Orlando. Their bean dip is excellent! The shrimp quesadilla is yummy!!!

This is one cool place. The decor inside is very unique, haven't found anything like it in SC. Has cool statues and paintings all over the walls, cool little booths. The food isn't half bad either. Granted, there are better places in Charleston, but that's an hour away. For Manning though, it's the best.

Good food and great variety. Ate here while en route on a move with the family. Easily a better option than any fast food. Very friendly staff. Tasty (but mild) salsa. Had Mariachi rellenos, meat-filled instead of cheese...good. Carne asada was tasty too.

Wow, for the abyss of civilization that is Manning, SC, this little joint was tasteful in decor, and turned out to be a delectable Texi-Mexi-haul!

Beautiful unusual decor, very good authentic Mexican food. Lightning quick service. Friendly place. Great prices. The chips are really good however the salsa could use more chunks.

This was pretty good Mexican food. I can't say I liked my shrimp cocktail too much though, it tastes like shrimp drowned in ketchup. But the prices were great and the food was good enough.

Lol)

This is one cool place. The decor inside is very unique, haven't found anything like it in SC. Has cool statues and paintings all over the walls, cool little booths. The food isn't half bad either. Granted, there are better places in Charleston, but that's an hour away. For Manning though, it's the best.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
