We have enjoyed lunch here before. Dinner , however, was a 4/10 at best. To top a mediocre meal off, hostess sneaked in patron's TWO lap dogs and had the nerve to ask others sitting close by if they minded "diability dogs". Mind you, these were definitely NOT SERVICE animals. Beware the dog hair in your stone soup.

Found by a happy accident driving through. Everything the family got was amazing. Salads, grilled ahi tuna, and the sandwich were all amazing. Great atmosphere and setting. If you get the chance this place is well worth your time!

We were just looking for a quiet place to eat. Then we came across this gem. For starters we had a roasted beet salad with fresh goat cheese and candied pecans. This was our favorite part of the meal. Everything blended perfectly. For the entrée I had trout with brown butter sauce and toasted almonds and roasted potatoes. Everything about this meal was excellent. My wife had one of the specials. Chicken Breast breaded with panko, served with pasta and tomato sauce and a caprese salad. Finished off with some bread pudding and ice cream topped with caramel sauce. Our server was great too!

Just a small out of the way place in Landrum with some of the most amazing food in the area. The Sunburst trout is to die for and the Sea Bass had my girlfriend going on and on about how wonderful it was. The wait staff was friendly and attentive and we never had to find some one to refill drinks etc. Could not more highly recommend.

Super food quality. Excellent service and wonderful patio seating. Try any salad - they are all delicious. The turkey sandwich is savory and just the perfect size.

The food was great. My husband and I both had the smoked turkey sandwich with a small field greens salad with balsamic dressing that was to die for!! I would have given it 5 stars but it took 50 minutes to get our food. Service very slow and the locals seemed to be okay with it so it must be the norm. Guess they are on mtn time. Excellent food!!

We had a great light lunch with half a sandwich and a cup of soup. The food was very tasty and original, service was friendly and the seating was private enough to carry on a adult conversation . We will go back.

Attractive decor, full bar, live music, outdoor tables available. Easily accessible from I-26. Food was cooked to order and produce was fresh. I enjoyed my dish but my companion felt his pasta was over-seasoned. We were both very impressed with attentive service, homebaked, hot bread, did not try luscious looking desserts. Could get loud and crowded fast since it is rather small. A little pricey for the area but overall it was worth it.

Wonderful spot. Decor and space itself are very inviting. We had lunch on a weekday. Kale soup which was good and had a kick. Hunter's soup with pork and sausage. Unusual and delicious. Then a salmon BLT with applewood bacon on a crusty bread. Yum! Splurged on their signature dessert made with dates topped with ice cream. So good. High quality, unique dishes, well prepared. Will try to stop anytime I am in the area.

Great place to grab a bite after a horse show or for a nice place to grab a drink with friends. I love the look and feel of this resturant with all of the equestrian decor or the walls. The chicken corn chowder is the best soup I have had in a very long time. I could go on and on but to end I just want to say give this place a shot. Oh yea, they have an awesome outdoor area!

This is my favorite restaurant in the Landrum, SC / Tryon, NC area and on par, food quality-wise, with The Purple Onion up in Saluda....another top pick but a different crowd with more casual food. Stone Soup is small and has a casual elegance that pays homage to the local equestrian community with walls and walls of pictures of local riders doing their thing. Just about everything on the menu is really good. Sometimes, the pasta dishes can be a bit mundane but there are some really stellar choices here like the Asian-inspired Tuna Tower app, the steak of the day and the hazlenut / cilantro encrusted salmon. Sides are great too like the fried potatoes with parmesan and truffle oil as well as the roasted veggies. The service is attentive but can suffer when they get busy. But, it's a place to sit down for dinner and conversation...not a quick meal. Come early if you dare bring the kiddies. We usually go early or get a sitter for Thing 1 and Thing 2 or get carryout. Yes, a little pricey for the area but the $$$ keeps the riff-raff out. Oooops. Sorry. That was insensitive....didn't mean that. Oh, wait, yes, I did. It's good to have a big-city-worthy dinner place out here in horsey country amidst the plethora of really mediocre restaurants. One great story about the service at Stone Soup...my daughter was playing with a doll at the table while we were waiting on the food and caught the dolls' foot on fire from the table candle. I quickly put it out (dunking the dolls' foot in my water glass) but it did stink up the place and left my 4 YO daughter crying. The waiter realized what happened, came over to console her and offered to take the doll to the doctor, saying he would be back in a second. The doll was returned moments later with a band-aid over the "injury" on her foot.....nice touch. And, he didn't forget to bring me a fresh glass of water either.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
