This place was amazing. Sliced pork was moist and generous. The meat stood on its own. They had a variety of sauces. Their north Carolina pepper vinegar sauce was great. Light and peppery. Their midland mustard sauce was great. Not overpowering but tangy and sweet. Alligator bites were good too! Great rémoulade to accompany them. Very good service.

Very good barbecue and generous portions. Sides were also tasty as was dessert. The town of Landum is adorable. Next time will come early and explore the downtown a bit.

Awesome! For consumer BBQ, this is as good as it gets. Great smoke, good sauce, not greasy. There is a full bar and decent mixed drinks. We will return. Service was slow and it is clear they don't split the tips. Pie was not homemade and was undercooked. Meat was excellent; can't wait to try the canjun food.

Really good take out pulled pork. Try sweet mustard sauce or vinegar based. Good take out place about 1 mile from highway, or nice eat in. Cute downtown on the way.

Slightly out of the way from I-85 (1.5 mi) but very worth the drive. Pulled pork plate and sides of red beans & rice and baked beans were good. Prices are fair and staff is friendly. It's been added to my list of stops along the I-85 / NC / SC route.

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious Labor Day lunch at this restaurant and we can't wait to go back. I enjoyed a HUGE bone-in chicken breast with fried green tomatoes and red beans and rice. My husband had the pulled pork, red skin potatoes and slaw. Everything was cooked to order and the portions were large. Our server was great, very attentive. We left with lots of leftovers and look forward to going back again soon. Keep up the good eats, Smokehouse and Grille!

When I'd first heard about this place, my first impression was barbecue . Nevertheless, I was a disappointed. The menu was mostly seafood, steaks, burgers and fries. There was barbecue on the menu but you have to search for it. The service was mediocre at best. I had the shrimp basket with red beans and rice as my side item. I wasn't very impressed. The shrimp tasted like they were frozen. The red beans and rice tasted like they came out of a can and heated in the microwave. I might give them another chance but I'm skeptical about going back.

After a trip to Asheville we decided to drive back through Tryon and Landrum. Came upon this little BBQ joint. We decided to eat dinner there and I am glad that we stopped. The pulled pork is wonderful with just a hint of smoke and was really tender. The hash was just as good as the pork. The size of the portions was very jenerous and we had to get a to go box for the food that we could not eat. We will be back here to eat again.

This got a BIG WOW. I was surprised by the outstanding cajun and creole food served her. This will become one of our regular places when we are in the area. Great value and great service too.

We are usually pleased with our meals here. Service is excellent and friendly. We have had fried oysters, shrimp&grits, burgers, salads and wonderful soups. We come about every 34 weeks.

I visited from Cleveland, so I made it a goal to eat some southern BBQ during my short visit. I'm glad I chose here! It helped that: 1. This place already had great reviews 2. It was one of few BBQ joints opened on Monday 3. Came recommended by a local resident The place isn't huge, but it's cute, quaint and with plenty of seating. Ambiance was a bit dim, but it's casual dining! Service wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. But the food surpasses it all! We started with the appetizer sampler where you get to choose 3 appetizers. We chose the alligator bites (never had it, and the suspense was killing me!), chicken wings and fried shrimp. It came out really quick, piping hot and each with its own dipping sauce. Everything was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy. Alligator bites tasted just like chicken... Just a bit more tender and juicy! It was hard to really taste a difference because let's face it... When it's fried, everything tastes the same. But we really enjoyed them! The wings are still slightly crispy even though they appeared to be grilled/smoked! And who can go wrong with fried shrimp! For the entree, we had the pick 3 again and chose the chicken breast, sausage and pulled pork. Pulled pork was by far the best, and it's their bread and butter of the business and put them on the map! I love spicy foods, so the hot BBQ sauce was the way to go! But their special mustard sauce was excellent with the sausage! Chicken breast was my least favorite... It wasn't bad, but it was lackluster when compared to the other things on the plate. We had these with the collard greens, hush puppies and jambalaya sides. Collard greens had a slight sweetness to it which I wasn't expecting, but it was still good. I personally loved the jambalaya the best and would order two sides of just that! My boyfriend and I were able to share all this and left full and satisfied. It's too bad we don't live nearby!

I moved to the country from the "big city" of Richmond; Richmond has high quality restaurants. I often eat in Manhattan at excellent restaurants and don't use that word lightly. This is an excellent reastaurant. My wife, who is a much better food judge than I, loves this restaurant. The local fare, well-prepared delicious food is what keeps me coming back.

If the grilled corn is on the menu, it's a must-have item. Their daily specials are also a fresh vibrant choice to their standard menu items. They have a full bar, TVs, and a game area where those who wish to smoke can go.

This place was really good! We went after a winery tour to grab some eats. The prices were spot on for a BBQ joint but the portions were larger than most! They definitely have an expansive menu, with more than just BBQ. I wish a place like this was closer to Greenville that offered this type of food. I ordered a double plate that came with 2 sides. I chose pulled pork and chopped chicken. I saw a review that said get the pull pork so I did. It was a great choice! Moist and tender, little hints of smoke in it and the sauces accompanied it perfectly. Sadly the chopped chicken did not make the cut. It was barely warm, dried out, and just not appetizing at the restaurant. Reheated, with some sauce on it, at home in the microwave the chicken was pretty good. I got the fries, Mexican corn and jambalaya for my sides. The fries came out barely warm, which ruined them. The mexican corn was good, but not the best. The Jambalaya was extremely good. Next time I will order only that for a side! Next time we are passing through we will definitely stop by and try some more stuff. Just small improvements in the timing and preparation of the food would make this place a 5 star place.

We stopped in here on our way back from a week at the beach in GA. We got there about 1:30 on a Saturday afternoon and the place was nearly empty. We took a booth and our waitress was with us immediately. Three of us ordered some form of the BBQ and the others ordered the special which was trout with a grilled pineapple chutney. The BBQ and sides were fantastic! The pulled pork was juicy, smoky, and tender and their mustard sauce was wonderful! Their smoked sausage was also on point. The trout was a little bland though and the fourth person in our party was very disappointed they hadn't ordered any Q! I wished we lived closer to this place!

Visiting family, coming from TN and needed a very late lunch. Arriving late questions their freshness of food with quite a versatile menu but let me say, without question, they know how to do it all right. Delicious BBQ with choices of sause, bib-needed-oozing-burgers, done-right Philly cheese, and tender tenders! Not to mention fresh sides that are seasoned right. Top notch!

We went here with two children and had both the barbeque as well as the fish tacos on their seasonal menu. The food was terrific! The beer selection was pretty decent for out in the middle of nowhere. There was a full bar. We are looking forward to going again for the Cajun food. During dinner we were invited to participate in a trivia game, which was a lot of fun considering we won.
