Voodoo has some pretty decent barbecue and some really interesting sauces. My partner and I wandered in here for an early dinner one evening around 5 (a Thursday, if I do recall). This place was pretty dead, but our service was still quick and friendly. We decided we wanted to try several different things, so we both chose the Graveyard, since you could pick two different types of meats. My partner chose the pulled pork and the sausage, while I chose the brisket and the turkey. For sides, I chose the corn pudding and the mac-n-cheese, while he chose sweet potato souffle and greens. All four of the meats were pretty good. Each of them was very tender and perfectly cooked. Now, I did not find any of them to have even a hint of smoky goodness that I love about barbecue, which was a little disappointing. Still, the meat was good, especially the brisket and the sausage. The corn pudding was less sweet than I was expecting but decent. Unfortunately, the mac-n-cheese was pretty unmemorable, which is sad. My partner enjoyed the greens, but our favorite part was definitely the sweet potato souffle. It was not too sweet and chocked full of the perfect balance of spices and sweet potato flavor. We loved every bite of it and I wish I'd ordered it for myself. As for their sauces, they have four different unique ones. One is their mojo (a tangy barbecue), one is a spicy mango (a slightly sweet and smoky), jerk sauce, and honey pepper. The mango was surprisingly my favorite. Their prices are reasonably as well, with pretty good-sized portions. Two people could easily get dinner here for around $20 + tip. I will probably try to hit this place up again and hope that the meat is a little smokier the next time around.

Good Barbeque flavor. Cashier charged me 2.00 extra for Brisket. When I asked her why. She said Corporate told them to upcharge because it is a premium meat.... Really? Not cool!

Not bad for a franchise spot... Side items are worth the trip.. Usually come when i get a B1 get 1 coupon out of the Clipper magazine

This place was incredible...but because it was empty, I'm scared that for my next visit to Simpsonville, this puppy might be out of business. The pulled pork, the sliced brisket, the baked beans, the french fries, the Texas toast, the veggies, the mac-and-cheese...all of that, plus the sauces available tableside, were incredible. You add in the Friday special--buy one beer, get one free--and there isn't a good reason why this place isn't crushed every Friday night. So why was it so empty when I strolled in with the wife and four friends? Good question. Maybe bad marketing? Maybe the crap location (strip mall, not really featured)? Not sure, but please support this place...I eat out more often than most people and this place was SOLID!!

The food was lukewarm and even after the manager had a 2nd one made up, the meat was still cool to the touch. BBQ has to be hot. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. We might get something to go, so we can heat it up at home.

Came to VooDoo BBQ and Grill for lunch on the 4th of July. The food was pretty good!! Loved the corm pudding! They have a great variety of food on the menu. The atmosphere is also nice and they have the music to give you that New Orleans feel. The staff is very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.

The sauces were unique and interesting from other BBQ places in Greenville. Not the typical offerings, but it's nice to have good tasting food that is more than just a vehicle for the sauce. My Smokey Burger was tasty, and I added the Mojo sauce on it. Mojo is my pick of the 3 table sauces, which was more mild and sweet (I typically go for the spiciest one). I tasted my wife's sliced brisket and the flavor was really good. Of the BBQ places in Greenville, I'll definitely say this is our top pick.

This is the best barbecue in Greenville, by far. Ever since I moved to Grenville, I have wanted to find a good barbecue place. I've tried all of them- from Henry's Smokehouse, to Mac's Speed shop- from Sticky Fingers to Little Pigs. I have not loved any of them. This is the first BBQ restaurant in Greenville where I took a bite and said, "Wow!". The pulled pork is awesome, so is the chicken. The MoJo BBQ sauce is amazing. The sides are fantastic- the corn fritters, the greens, the gumbo. The icing on the cake is that the service is fast and courteous. Do yourself a favor and check this place out.

Outstanding food and service! Ribs were done just right and brisket had just the right amount of fat rendering it tender as can be. I had the fried corn fritters (I believe that's what it was listed as) as a side and WOW! Overall an outstanding dinner experience. Portions were just right and the place was as spotless! Wish this place was located in other states as well...

BBQ purists will scoff at the concept of quality smoked meat coming from a chain restaurant -- especially one based in Louisiana. But VooDoo in Greenville has an awful lot of potential and in some places it already soars. I was skeptical at first, but since I frequently get to SC, but don't frequently get to LA, I wanted to give this outpost a try. I'm very glad I did. Took my two sons for a Friday lunch last week and it knocked my socks off. I chose brisket and sausage (two easy items to do really badly) and my boys had pulled pork (more forgiving). All of it was dee-lish. The pork was smoky and moist and definitely compares favorably to other local BBQ joints in the area. Brisket was tasty with really nice smoke, but was a tad overdone (shouldn't be this way at lunchtime unless it was recycled form the day before), so that knocked off a star. Sausage was a pleasant pork/beef mix, nicely spiced without being overly hot, and a nice bite to the casing. All were served without sauce (a very good sign) though a couple of good sauces were available at each table. For sides, my boys had a mac-and-cheese which one liked, but the other thought was bland, and they had a corn cake which needed just a bit more sugar. I had the Gator Beans (baked beans with some kind of meat which I'm guessing, given the lack of alligators in Upstate SC was probably pork) and greens which had a nice kick. Though VooDoo is a chain, and looks the part, they're serving up some of the best bbq I've eaten in a chain restaurant in a long time. Once you get past the overall cleanliness (they get an A from the health department -- a less-than-positive sign for a Q joint, but nice for those who choose to avoid trichinosis, salmonella, Yersinia enterocolitica, Enterococcus, Staphylococcus aureus, and listeria), and the gas-fired smokers which remove some of the authenticity, you'll find some pretty dang good Q.

Great food that is well prepared. If you're looking for a great lunch place this is the place!

Been here a few times now so it's time for a review... According to the manager the food is all smoked in-house. Their equipment is automated and the larger cuts smoke all night long. Smaller cuts are smoked throughout the day. The decor is open and airy with a cajun motif. You order at the counter and you are given a number to take with you. The food is delivered to your table quickly and they have always asked if we are familiar with the sauce options and asked if we need anything else. Very friendly staff. Food thus far has been piping hot and seasoned well. Sides have all been very flavorful and of adequate serving size. I have tried the Ribs which were very good but expensive for the amount you get. The BBQ chicken is the star here... it is very tasty and very juicy. The outside is seasoned well and the meat is slightly smokey. I get this every time! I have been here with others who have tried and recommend the pulled pork and the baked potatoes as well. I also got a sample of the sausage and it was also good. TIP ALERT! Ask for samples! Beer is available and soft drinks are self serve. Overall a great place that I will be returning to frequently.

The sides were legit. Beyond that, this is not the VooDoo BBQ we know and love from St. Charles Ave. Living next door to the original, i must have had the jerk chicken at least 50 times, and never did it look like spongey fake meat. Sad, sad. We'll save our appetites for a return trip to the authentic NOLA version.

I enjoyed the Cajun smoked sausage & requested a sauce they keep in the back - honey pepper. AWESOME! The corn pudding was ok but the rattlesnake beans should have a bite or change its name. Fantastic service & great atmosphere. Little pricey though.

Brisket is very good. Smoked Turkey was not very smoky and wasn't very good. Some of their sides are really good, but I think this place is pricey compared to other local bbq joints. I didn't like any of their sauces. Nothing beats Tom's BBQ cheerwine sauce! Menu is varied and staff are friendly. I just think for the $, keep on going down Woodruff Road either direction and go to Tom's or Henry's for better BBQ and better prices.

Wow. This is easily near the top for my BBQ choices. I had the Carolina Pulled Pork Sandwich and the Gris Gris Greens. The sandwich was VERY good with the Mojo sauce on the table. The greens were perhaps the best I've ever had anywhere. I enjoyed my dinner with the family so much that I went back on the very next day for a solo lunch. I will be back. This place is awesome. I do have to agree with a previous review, however. The prices do seem a tad on the high side. I'd probably be back much more often if I could get my sandwich, fries and soft drink for $7 ish. Instead it was just over $10. That is the only reason I didn't give a Woo Hoo 5 star review.

We are there tonight, four of us...13 YO son, 10 YO daugter, wife and I. Everone liked it. Daughter had the kid's pulled pork sandwich, son had the jerk chicken sandwich, wife had jerk chiken plate and I had the plate with pulled pork and jerk chicken, with greens and sweet potatoe. We liked their sauces on the table (BBQ is all about the sauce...) and the jerk had a good flavor. Everyone was happy and we'll be back.

excellent food and service this evening. it was a welcome surprise to find someone who can actually produce a quality brisket here in the Greenville area. maybe a little on the high side $ wise, but no buyers remorse. Kudos to whoever programs the music- Tower of Power, Dr. John and the Meters enhance the overall dining experience. Say hi to Dino when you dine in.

The greens are the best greens I have ever eaten. All the other food ranks incredibly high as well. It was so good in fact that it is now my favorite lunch catering request at work. I definately recommend!

I really enjoy their food. Everything I have had there is delicious. I love their jerk chicken and brisket. Their sides are tasty. Their sauces are unique. However there hasn't been a sing time that I've been there and tried to order something and they were out of it. They are also EXTREMELY overpriced for the quality of food and service. It is usually $30 for my husband and I to eat there. For that price we can go to Sticky Fingers down the street and not eat someplace that is essentially glorified fast food.

I had a pulled pork sandwich (no side) and a 12-ounce drink and the total was $9.00. I was a little shocked at the price but the food was very good. I would not go back based on the price.

Ordered their wings thinking a BBQ place could not mess it up.. Was very Wrong about that!! Although this was right before Thanksgiving .. It was probably one of the worst most soggy blah order of wings no matter the size of the order since I've been in SC. Sad for a BBQ place!! Was thinking of ordering Thanksgiving dinner here.. That order made it clear what they were and were not!! Unfortunately they were not what I was looking for!! Best of luck to them improving on quality!!

Understaffed when we arrived and we stood at the counter for at least 5 minutes before the cashier could take our order(no line and there were two tables seated). I ordered the pulled pork plate with sweet potato souffle and vegetables. The bbq tasted and looked like it had been in a warming container since the day before. The souffle looked like a pile of soupy mess with zero flavor. The veggies were mushy. I took a bite of everything on my plate and refused to eat anymore. This is a poor misrepresentation of a bbq establishment. Just the few bites I had made my stomach feel uneasy. I have never thrown a whole plate of food away at a restaurant, so this was a first.

Overall.....not bad, but. The corn pudding, rattlesnake beans and sweet potato shuffle were too sweet. The chicken was fall off the bone tender and very moist, but BBQ it was not. I swear it was a rotisserie chucken covered in a dry run. As far as flavor it was tasty. The ribs are beef ribs and were very meaty and tender but lacked any substantial BBQ flavor and I had to dip each bite into a BBQ sauce just to remind myself I ordered BBQ ribs. Total lack of any smoke flavor. All in all not bad but it lacked any WOW factor. I prefer Bucky's off Ropermountain.

I love, love, love voodoo bbq. Great pulled pork with a good smoke flavor. The sweet potato soufflé is amazing. It was a big hit at our thanksgiving dinner. The baked beans are the best I've ever had. The Mac and cheese is also pretty good, as is the corn pudding. I'm glad they replaced their Texas toast with sweet corn bread. It goes better together. The people here are very nice. I don't have a single bad thing to say. I just wish there was one closer to my house.

Juicy and tender brisket. The Mojo sauce is a new favorite. The nice surprise was getting to share a new menu item: The Crawfish Étouffée. It was DELICIOUS! Eaten too fast to get a picture!
