I ordered a regular burrito with chicken and beans. Didn't make it "wet" like they asked. Came out very dissatisfied. Burrito wrap was very dry. The beans were also dry and tasteless. Not much chicken to make anything out of it, just came off as not fresh. Tortilla chips were nothing special but bearable. The sauces was probably the worst offender as the spiciest ones left a nasty after taste. The only edible one in my opinion was the sweet and spicy one. Customer service was very friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Overall, filled me up, but not in a good way. Go to chipotle.

Super slow. Went there on a Wednesday at 4pm to try out this joint. I waited over 15 minute to get my food out, and there were only 3 other people in that place in which the all got their food already. The manager apologize and gave me a compliment on a free order on my next visit. When I finally got my food. The taco shell were soggy. Kind of like chewing on rubber.

the ambiance was good, good for groups and hanging out. I was impressed by their hot sauce bar which had like 15+ sauces to sample. for the price you pay, the portion sizes were pretty good. overall, a nice place to hangout and chill .

Not impressed at all. Mediocre food, high prices. I will be take Chipotle any day and take the money I saved to get a coffee afterwards.

The food was great and very flavorful, more so then other places I've been to. The customer service was excellent, as the waitresses came to my table frequently. I loved how they had a variety of sauces for me chose from. The overall atmosphere inside the restaurant was great, and I definitely see myself going again.

I was not happy with the food. Yes, we were greeted at the door. Yes, the guy explained the menu, not hard because it is very limited. If you expect a true Tex-Mex experience, you will be sadly disappointed. When I first read the menu, I wanted to leave but I decided to give it a chance. When I saw tables of half eaten food I should have known. This place is more of a fast food type place. The food was average. For the cost, you will be very very angry. I paid $30 bucks for nachos, drinks, and two no-ritto bowls. Don't waste your time. Chilli's is more cost effective and tastes way better. I give this spot two thumbs down.

Background: My wife and I love grabbing quick Mexican food. Our #1 is Moes with Chipotle coming in at #2. We decided to check out the new Tijuana Flats after receiving a promotional flyer in the mail. Unfortunately, this place does not get a top spot on our list. How it works: 1) Get in line and place your order at a register 2) Cashier prepares your soft drinks and hands them to you 3) Sit at any table in the restaurant 4) Food is delivered to your table Our meal cost $18 on Tijuana Tuesday. We ordered the Tijuana sampler (queso, guac & salsa). We also ordered the Tijuana Tuesday special, which consists of two tacos each. Minus one star: Food Quality. We were not "wowed" by this meal. The food itself really did not taste that good. The steak in the taco was chewy. My wife got the carnitas taco, and the flavor was borderline disgusting. Minus one star: Process. The arrangement is not very efficient, with having to sit around and wait for your food to come out. Took about 10 minutes from the time we ordered to the time it was ready. So from the time we walked in the door to the time we were served, about 20 minutes had lapsed. Compared to Moes, I can easily be from the door to my table with food in hand in 5 minutes. Overall, it was a unique experience. Based on the taste of the food and the unusual process, I would not recommend Tijuana Flats.

Not bad..! Was pleasantly surprised that a chain out of Florida could actually get Tex-Mex pretty close. Order the rice and beans with your meal, they're great! Also, the queso is pretty close. Will be going back here.

This place has the ambiance of a West Coast Tex Mex Taco shop. Very Urban influences which seem distinctly out of place in Greenville. Food is definitely over priced based on quality. Their flavors are decent however, I just can't seem to find the value anywhere. The overly "wrapped" burritos contain barely enough substantive ingredients to satisfy a child, much less a grown man. If I wanted that much flour and lard, I would buy a loaf a bread and a vat of Crisco shortening. It was like cramming a dry biscuit down my throat, despite being covered in salsa and cheese! On my second visit i tried the blackened chicken flautas, which were just as depressing and incredibly saturated in oil. Thy were served with a wonderful pile of lettuce, some diced tomatoes, and a side of dipping sauce, which added some character to the plate. The best thing these guys offer is their variety of hot sauces which are absolutely necessary to crutch up the rest of the meal. I think I've experienced enough from this place. They are super friendly which really helps the atmosphere, but the food really leaves me questioning how they plan on staying in business.

I love the food here. I've been a couple of times and I was impressed both times. The flavor of everything is pretty good. Their hot sauce bar is fun and unique. I love trying the different sauces, especially because I love spicy food. I also love their online ordering system! It is extremely convenient and easy to understand. Being able to select a pick up time makes it easy for me to place an order and be able to pick it up after work. The only complaint is that the ordering system in the restaurant is very odd. I don't understand being handed menus and then told to order at the counter. It seems like it would be more efficient to either seat people with menus or just have a menu board at the registers.

With the increasing traffic and difficulty getting places on Woodruff Road, I try to avoid venturing in this area unless there is a restaurant worth the frustration I endure. I was already in the area and looking for a place to get quick carry-out, so I decided to check this place out. I was expecting it to be a little more like Chipotle in the ordering process (like an assembly line), but you place your order at the register and they bring it out to your table. You give them your name, and when your food is ready, they bring it out to you by shouting your name and trying to find you. This is pure chaos and not a very efficient system. Matter of fact, the whole system here seemed quite chaotic. I can't imagine trying to dine in here, to be honest. There are not very many tables and it is very crowded in there. I will say that the service was very friendly and my food was ready is about 10 minutes. That day I decided to order chimichanga with carnitas. I got it "wet" with the queso sauce covering it. It comes with a few chips as well with the takeout. This was about $9.50. For that price, it was not a lot of food. Again, I was thinking it might be comparable to the size of the burritos you get a Chipotle, but it was much, much smaller and more expensive. The chimichanga was good, I liked the flavors, but it was a bit disappointing. The best part about this place is the hot sauce bar. They have several different kinds, with more mild sauces and then increasing in hotness. I got cups with three mild and medium sauces, which I liked. Their sweet chili sauce has barely any heat, but their hot garlic had a decent amount. Overall, I was just not impressed. I'd give it about 2.5 stars.

Really good food for a cheap price. A lot cheaper then Chipotle and free chips. The staff is alway friendly and waits on you hand an foot. I love the fish tacos and the avocado ranch dressing. Two things you can get at Chipotle or Moe's that are outstanding. Tijuana flats is a different concept in fast casual dining, totally different then Chipotle or Moe's. It's more like a full service restaurant. A nice change for Greenville SC. Can't wait for one to open closer to my side of town.

This is by far the best Tijuana Flats I have ever been to! As soon as I walked towards the door a server opened the door for me and handed me a menu. There was no wait and I stepped right up and placed my order. When I was over by the sauces I was unsure which ones I wanted to try so a server came over and offered assistance. My hands were full with different sauce cups so she ran over and opened the door for me. I waited outside on their patio for my food. The servers brought the food out very quickly and it was delicious! Servers were checking on me to refill my drinks and sauces throughout my meal. I was very pleased how they went above and beyond to ensure I had a pleasant experience. You can tell this place is well managed with great employees! Excellent food and service, definitely recommend!

Food has no love. I'm a total lover of Mexican food, all kinds, from Tex-Mex, to traditional. We stopped in because atmosphere looked cool and they had outdoor seating. I had enchiladas and my boyfriend had Flautas. They should have tasted totally different but it was like we ordered the same thing. The food had no flavor, no seasoning. They offer a sauce bar but I shouldn't have to drown my food in sauce to give it flavor. Pay the extra dollar or two and go down the road to Chipotle. While we were there, the manager (assumed) stepped outside with an employee and either fired her or sent her home, about 10 feet away from us. Not cool brah, not cool.

I love, love the burritos here. It's the closest thing to a TexMex burrito in Greenville SC.

Door was held open and were greeted by manager Shay: very friendly upbeat explained Process of ordering then we would seat ourselves and experience full service free drink refills etc. Placed our orders, sat down and 15 mins later good finally brought to our table. There were only two couples in front of us when we place our order and they were half way through with their meals when we got ours. So much for quick service food. The food arrived and was not very appetizing in the least, I think Taco bells food even looks better, especially for the price. My husband had the steak quesadilla, it came w/chips. I had the steak Flautas and apparently mine did not come with chips and the queso I ordered didn't come with any either. I had two bowls of queso, and no chips. As for the full service experience I would say not to expect much.. Only got our drinks refilled one time when we motioned and asked. I will not be going back. I had ordered a side of queso dip to go with my meal,

This is a great addition to the Woodruff Road area. I had the Tijuana Burrito along with guacamole and salsa with chips. The quality of the ingredients were very good with a great overall taste. Although Woodruff can be hectic, it's located in an easy to get to area with good parking.

The best chain tex-mex restaurant in the area. I love that they have local craft beer and happy hour specials. The food is great, fresh ingredients and by far the hottest jalapenos I have ever had on Mexican food. I was really excited about the arrival in Greenville. Overall great experience and the kids enjoy eating there. Only downside is its on woodruff but I believe there is one over by the mall as well. For the references to Moes this place is 100 times better.

Hmm. I want so badly to give this place 5 stars just for the friendliness, but that isn't what is going to keep me coming back unless it's accompanied by really tasty food. We were greeted at the door by this wildly friendly young lady who asked us if it was our first time and because it was, she showed us the ropes. She handed us a very busy and colorful menu - one that takes a bit of time to read over, which would have been much better to do while seated instead of in line. I settled on the Dos Tacos with chicken and black beans. Hub ordered a giant burrito...similar to what we would order at Moe's. Our food arrived relatively quickly. My husband's burrito was a good size, but I was a bit shocked when my plate was set down in front of me. All I saw was lettuce and a little bit of cheese in one of the tortillas. When I dug down to the bottom, there may have been a few processed-looking, tiny pieces of chicken chunks and a few black beans, but it was skimpy to say the least. The second taco was a bit more plump with fillings, so I transferred some over to the second taco, but again, it was not up to par when compared to what you would get at most Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurants. The manager was walking around and must have noticed my re-arranging and asked if everything was okay, and I said yes. At that point I just wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt that the flavor would make up for the lack of ingredients. Wrong. The bits of chicken were weak on flavor, and the tacos overall were runny with juice. They serve a few tortilla chips with your meal, which are good, but with no salsa to be seen anywhere. There is a hot sauce bar with mostly hot and very hot sauces. I prefer not to sweat when I eat, so I usually steer clear of those. The sweet chili sauce was good, but they only provide those tiny paper cups for the sauce, so we resorted to pouring it on the chips rather than dipping them. My husband's burrito was big, but was mostly tortilla. When he cut into it, you could see the layers with nothing in between. Our meals with a water and one beer was $21. I believe Salsarita's and Moe's would run about the same, but in my opinion there is no comparison when it comes to flavor, ratio of ingredients, and presentation.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
